DNF’d at 10%. I could not get into the writing style, and I believe it was because of the translation.

This was a cute, easy read that was set in the most romantic place, Rome. Josie just found out that her best friend and boyfriend were making out and she needed to get the heck out of dodge. Leo is a super nice Chilean man who is also staying in the hostel with Josie. On the last night of her trip Josie finally pulls herself out of the mood she has been in the whole trip and decides to entertain the last night of her trip with Leo.

There was a lot of inter monologue in this book and the majority of it was the question game when you go back and forth answering each other’s questions. I did like how the author connected each other’s heritage and connected it back to Italy.

I did enjoy this quick read and would recommend it for anyone who’s suffering from wanderlust or the travel blues in the dead of winter.

Thanks to NetGalley and Tiziana Olbrich for the eARC in trade for and honest review.

"Just One Night in Rome" was the good part of this story. The night Josie and Leland spent together captured the essence of fleeting time and made me think about similar encounters through vacations.

Outside of their meeting and date night, there was just too much information that wasn't developed well or seemed irrelevant. This story switches to dual pov about halfway through, which was odd to me and didn't serve that much purpose though they were apart. The plot in the second half was all over the place. Josie is battling with her job, her ex, her best friend who her ex cheated on her with..., her parental relationship issues are brought up, etc. Not only was it too many of her personal issues, but after her one night in rome, she went from someone who was getting walked all over to instantly confident. The pacing for this just didn't seem realistic.

As a travel lover, adventure seeker, I thought this would be a cute rom-com/chic lit read that had all the things.

In reality, this book was messy, heart break, lots of office drama/growth, and a crap boss.

At the end of the book, I just want to know what actually happens, instead of a cliff hanger.

Thank you NetGalley for my ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you net galley and Tiziana Olbrich for giving me the opportunity to read and review ‘ Just One Night In Rome’

First things first I did enjoy this book. The characters were likeable and I do feel like they had good chemistry. The writing wasn’t anything special unfortunately HOWEVER this is the authors first book and I believe everyone starts somewhere. For a first ever book I think this was good. I probably would’ve just liked a little more. For what it was, I’d definitely read it again and will keep my eye out for the second book.

I went into the book thinking it would be a quick, light-hearted, romantic read, but was let down when I realized the writing was just not for me. I would recommend it if you're not a big writing fanatic in romance novels!

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for sending me an arc of this book in exchange for an honest review. I will be dnfing this book at 11% due to a few reasons. I know this book has been translated from its original language of German, however it feels like after being translated there was no editing done to make sure it still made sense or flowed. This makes the dialogue and storytelling very choppy. I am also not sure if sensitivity readers were used for this book as there is one part where the main characters are discussing where they are from and the fmc bases her guess simply on how the mmc looks. I just feel like there could have been a better approach to this conversation and it could have been handled differently. Due to these reasons I will not be finishing this book.

This book didn't work for me. I wanted to love it - it seemed like a light, fun, frothy vacation romance story but the horrible writing detracted from anything good. The main characters had no real chemistry and I couldn't empathize with them.

I won't be reading any further books in this series.

I have to say I love this cover. Great colors, the characters give me chemistry instantly. The gelato! Cute cute cute. I am sad to say the feelings ended there. I enjoyed the premise, an adventurous trip to get over a break up, handsome stranger, instant lust, finding yourself. It checked a lot of boxes for me. However, Josie's inner monologue didn't work for me, and I didn't feel the chemistry I needed between her and Leo to really fall in love with their story.

this was a cute, easy-to-read romance between two people who meet by chance and spend an eventful night together exploring the city of Rome. feelings develop, doubts are shared, and they begin to wonder if they can share more than one night together, or is this it for them?

I liked all the cultural components that came with the story. learning about the spanish steps in rome, the cultural differences between germany and chile, and the connections to italy was a really interesting part of the story that I didn’t expect! I also really enjoyed the depth of the characters. there was a lot of inner monologue happening with Josefina where we got to know about her family background, her people-pleasing tendency, and her previous relationship. the ending was also a great full-circle moment and I found myself smiling at the last sentence🤭

I just wish there was a BIT more depth to the characters. we got to learn a lot about a certain component of the character, and then the story would just move on. I wanted the story to explore it more and intertwine it into the plot! the dynamic between Josefine and Leo also felt more platonic than romantic, although I still appreciated their relationship for whatever it was! the story idea was overall great and engaging to read about.

I overall enjoyed this book and would reccomend for a low-stakes, easy-going romance filled with travel, wanderlust, and happenstance.

A great RomCom based in Rome.
Found the Frist half of the book a little slow but once it got going it was perfection.

I thought this book was very cute, but a little slow.

Josie escapes to to Rome after a bad breakup and wants nothing to do with men - of course she needs the alluring Leo and her plans go down the drain when he takes her on the craziest few hours of her life!

I enjoyed the book, but made it 3 stars for me was: it dragged a bit in the beginning and I felt like mooooooonths passed but only a few days did lol/I get Leo and Josie just met but even after the initial spark it was like instalove which turned me off a bit.

Thank you to NetGalley who provided me with a copy of this book for an honest review. All the thoughts and opinions are my own.

This book was a sweet romance. Some cliche parts but also very into the emotional connection. It keeps you wondering until the end and then makes you wait for the sequel to see what the next part is. The dialogue seemed choppy sometimes… possibly because of the translation.

It seemed like such a cute book at first. However, it was quite disappointing. The idea isn’t original and though cliches can be cute, this book wasn’t. The writing style was so off, it felt like reading a summary of the book. Everything goes fast and the style needs improving, it feels like a lot of descriptions and events butchered together without any emotions behind.

This book was very slow and disappointing. Josie and Leland are roommates in a hostel in Rome and have only 1 night left before going on with their own trips. The whole book was just the 2 main characters talking and getting to know each other. There was no chemistry and the insta-love aspect wasn’t well done. I didn’t connect to the characters at all. I thought I would be immersed in Rome and the city but was distracted in that aspect. The text and wording was kind of clunky.
