This book didn't work for me. I wanted to love it - it seemed like a light, fun, frothy vacation romance story but the horrible writing detracted from anything good. The main characters had no real chemistry and I couldn't empathize with them.

I won't be reading any further books in this series.

I have to say I love this cover. Great colors, the characters give me chemistry instantly. The gelato! Cute cute cute. I am sad to say the feelings ended there. I enjoyed the premise, an adventurous trip to get over a break up, handsome stranger, instant lust, finding yourself. It checked a lot of boxes for me. However, Josie's inner monologue didn't work for me, and I didn't feel the chemistry I needed between her and Leo to really fall in love with their story.

It was a cute, fun romance that had me kicking my feet and giggling. I loved the setting of the book. It was quick and easy read. I definitely can't wait to get the physical copy :)

This book had me laughing out loud and swooning at their romantic relationship. The writing was easy to fall in love with as well as the uniquely fierce and passionate characters.

this was a cute, easy-to-read romance between two people who meet by chance and spend an eventful night together exploring the city of Rome. feelings develop, doubts are shared, and they begin to wonder if they can share more than one night together, or is this it for them?

I liked all the cultural components that came with the story. learning about the spanish steps in rome, the cultural differences between germany and chile, and the connections to italy was a really interesting part of the story that I didn’t expect! I also really enjoyed the depth of the characters. there was a lot of inner monologue happening with Josefina where we got to know about her family background, her people-pleasing tendency, and her previous relationship. the ending was also a great full-circle moment and I found myself smiling at the last sentence🤭

I just wish there was a BIT more depth to the characters. we got to learn a lot about a certain component of the character, and then the story would just move on. I wanted the story to explore it more and intertwine it into the plot! the dynamic between Josefine and Leo also felt more platonic than romantic, although I still appreciated their relationship for whatever it was! the story idea was overall great and engaging to read about.

I overall enjoyed this book and would reccomend for a low-stakes, easy-going romance filled with travel, wanderlust, and happenstance.

A great RomCom based in Rome.
Found the Frist half of the book a little slow but once it got going it was perfection.

I thought this book was very cute, but a little slow.

Josie escapes to to Rome after a bad breakup and wants nothing to do with men - of course she needs the alluring Leo and her plans go down the drain when he takes her on the craziest few hours of her life!

I enjoyed the book, but made it 3 stars for me was: it dragged a bit in the beginning and I felt like mooooooonths passed but only a few days did lol/I get Leo and Josie just met but even after the initial spark it was like instalove which turned me off a bit.

Thank you to NetGalley who provided me with a copy of this book for an honest review. All the thoughts and opinions are my own.

I started reading this book on a plane and thought it would be the perfect holiday read since I was on holiday myself. I found it to be way too dense for that, although I don't consider this a negative aspect of the novel, just something to consider when deciding to read this. Does that make any sense? I hope it does.

Now, the idea of the novel was great, in my opinion: we get two tourists who meet in a hostel and spend their last night in, you guessed it, Rome, and realize they like each other. Cute, right? And the reason why I found the book too dense to read while traveling was because the first half, which is when Josefine and Leo are getting to know each other, is basically one long dialog. One would expect that, of course, since this is how people get to know each other, right? But it was a bit exhausting for me. Again, I don't think that's the book's issue, just a matter of personal preference.

Now, like I said, the idea was great, but the execution was lacking, and I'll explain why by suggesting some changes (which I know the author will probably not consider, since there's already a second book out). I would first make this fully dual perspective; you see, up until halfway through we only get Josefine's perspective, which is fine, but then we start getting these chapters from Leo's perspective and there's no rhyme or reason as to when we'll get them. We could've had both POVs from the start. To that point, I'd add that I would have enjoyed some context before the characters actually meet. I think getting to know them and their reasons for traveling to Rome before meeting each other would've been an amazing addition to the plot. Lastly, I would incorporate a lot more mixed media. Once both characters were in different countries, which happens about halfway through the novel, I would have had them write emails or texts to each other. I also would have preferred to read their actual phone conversations instead of being told by the author that the characters were speaking. Is that too much to ask?

This book was a sweet romance. Some cliche parts but also very into the emotional connection. It keeps you wondering until the end and then makes you wait for the sequel to see what the next part is. The dialogue seemed choppy sometimes… possibly because of the translation.

It seemed like such a cute book at first. However, it was quite disappointing. The idea isn’t original and though cliches can be cute, this book wasn’t. The writing style was so off, it felt like reading a summary of the book. Everything goes fast and the style needs improving, it feels like a lot of descriptions and events butchered together without any emotions behind.

This book was very slow and disappointing. Josie and Leland are roommates in a hostel in Rome and have only 1 night left before going on with their own trips. The whole book was just the 2 main characters talking and getting to know each other. There was no chemistry and the insta-love aspect wasn’t well done. I didn’t connect to the characters at all. I thought I would be immersed in Rome and the city but was distracted in that aspect. The text and wording was kind of clunky.

Josie's heart is broken and takes an impromptu trip to Rome. The trip really hasn't helped her at all until the last night when she finally talks to her hostel roommate. She spends time with Leo touring and enjoying Rome and his company. She cannot believe how she feels about him so quickly. Leo obviously feels the same about her. However, they each have to depart the next day and don't know how this relationship will work out. Knowing Leo, has helped Josie stand up for herself at with her ex and her boss. Leo desperately wants to see Josie again, but will they connect? You will have to wait for the next book to find out. I liked the book well enough to want to read the sequel to find out what happens between Josie and Leo.

I thought this book sounded really cute & was so excited to read! Unfortunately, I just could not get into it. I lost interest, I couldn’t connect to the characters like I wanted, I felt as if I was struggling to make it through & I personally don’t enjoy that so I did not finish. I gave two stars because I do feel as if others will enjoy it and I do think the idea of it is cute!

I don't really know what to feel about this book.
The only thing I look forward in a book is a strong, independent female. And let me tell you: she was too weak till 98%of the book. And Leo was weird UNTIL I READ HIS POV! After that he was just a cutie and I really liked him, always thought about her.
Though I don't think I liked reading SO many details, there were just too much and I had to keep skipping. But I loved the playlist!!
Overall rating: 3.5

This was the cutest summer vacation romance. I ate it up so quickly. The setting was very well done. And it made me wish I was there. Would highly recommend.

I thought the premise of this book was cute and I was excited to pick it up and relive my trip to Rome, but other than a few mentions of some of the attractions, it didn't really immerse me in Rome.
Other than the location, I couldn't get past the writing. There were punctuation and grammatical errors that threw me off and I couldn't enjoy the read as much as I wanted to. I also didn't like the insta love and found the ending confusing.
