Twisted Secrets is the third book in the O’Malleys mafia series. Katee Robert takes all the intrigue and machinations of a mafia romance and combines it with her special blend of strong characters and lots of spice.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫

Cillian O’Malley meets Olivia Rashidi while she’s tending bar at a pub under his family’s protection. Little does he know that she and her young daughter are on the run from her half brother Dimitri Romanov’s crime family. What he does know is that sparks fly as they throw quips back and forth, and it’s not a surprise when they hookup in an alley shortly after they meet. What is surprising is the way Cillian wants more than just a simple hookup, especially when Olivia steps up to help him out of trouble. Can this pair develop a relationship, all while trying to thwart the forces trying to keep them apart?

As bonkers as mafia romance is, it means the story can truly be classified as enemies to lovers. While Cillian and Olivia have sizzling chemistry and can’t keep their hands off each other, the fact that they are associated with rival families is a huge stumbling block that puts their lives in danger. They each come with plenty of family baggage of their own, too.

This book has plenty of drama and intrigue, and has a hint of fun that doesn’t always appear in mafia romance. But the biggest difference between this series rerelease and Robert’s later work is that everyone is straight. Honestly it feels a little weird at this point, since now I usually just assume that all Robert’s characters are queer unless otherwise mentioned.

While each book in this series can work as a standalone, Robert deftly sets up the premise for the next book. I’ve surprised myself by really enjoying this entire series so far, and can’t wait to read more. If you are a fan of family intrigue and a bit of suspense to go with your steamy romance, read Twisted Secrets and the rest of the O’Malleys series.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

i love katee’s writing and the stories she creates! i don’t love mafia romances though. for that reason i’m giving it 3/5. katee made up for me not liking mafia, but still not my favorite.

Ah, man. I really read the 2nd the book of series without realizing it was a series, AGAIN! After the death of Devlin, Cillian struggles with guilt and panic attacks. He finds solace in a bar where he meets Olivia, a bartender who resists his desires. However, Olivia's father wants to reunite her with her child, who is willing to kill, kidnap, and maim her. Olivia is also the sister of the Russian Mobster ruling New York. This book is intense, with a thrilling atmosphere. The spicy scenes could use some work.

Thanks so much to Netgalley for this advanced copy for an honest review.

In this third installment in The O'Malley's series we get to know Cillian O'Malley. Cillian is in a deep depression about his brother’s death the only things that have helped him are alcohol, violence and random women. Until he starts to care about Olivia Rashidi, the daughter of a Russian mob boss. Can a proud member of the Irish mob actually survive a relationship with a woman with such deep Russian mob connections?
This book was a quick, sexy and intense read. I enjoyed the angst between Olivia and Cillian knowing they should not be together but the pull to each other is just too much to deny. Their story is now one of my favorites of the series.
Though this is the third book of the series you can definitely read it as a stand alone but I highly recommend reading the first 2 books before this one.
I am gratefully to Forever Publishing and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this action-packed, emotional, and sexy romance in exchange for an honest review.

This book surprised me - our MC isn't your typical alphahole mafia boss man, but rather a bit of a cinnamon roll with softer edges to make him not so intimidating. He still has his moments, don't kid yourself, but I found him to be a much more relatable character with how he was written. I also didn't realize that this book was originally book 3 in a series, so now I need to go back and read the first two books because this world Roberts has built is absolutely stunning - I'm a huge fan of her other works but this was my first mafia of hers and it definitely won't be my last. The ground work for the MC's relationship was built in previous books so I feel like I missed out on that, but this book still read great as a standalone!

I love Katee Robert and I love this series. As always, I cannot wait to read the rest of the series. She always has the absolute best romance plots and dialogue!

This series continues to be super solid and engaging. I'm a huge fan of interconnected storylines and this one picks up the breadcrumbs that were sprinkled in the previous book in the series. Definitely a good amount of spice - with a storyline to support it. The two MCs work really well together. The mafia storyline continues to work well, a good amount of suspense to keep things interesting and the added element of a single mother FMC took this to a deeper level for me.

I'm so glad these are being republished - I love the new covers and am excited to have this series on my radar. Thank you NetGalley for the eARC.

This is such a good series if you want to dip your toe in mafia romance! It has all the mafia trope pieces but the O’Malleys have a huge soft spot you don’t always get in other books. The characters, the plot are *chefs kiss*

I adored this third installment in the series. I'm honestly surprised more of us weren't reading it when Forever first published it. The angst of this particular single parent romance was phenomenal, and I honestly had an amazing time with it. The stakes were just high enough that it was believable. Bravo Katee!!

2.5 🌶

Book 3 in the O'Malley's series follows Cillian O'Malley and Olivia Rashidi. The family bookkeeper and a local bartender, respectively, whose unexpected tryst in the alley behind Jameson's turns into a series of uncertain, dangerous, and deadly events.

Much like books 1 & 2, book 3 follows a similar trajectory and love story formula. I loved the tension between Olivia and Cillian, and I loved the detail in which we experience Cillian's grief. After losing his brother, Cillian's mind is complex and he's hurt, but he's not irredeemable. He does not need to be defined by his past. I love that for him.

Unfortunately, the plot of Twisted Secrets ultimately fell flat for me. It's not without its drama and danger, but a number of plot points felt very convenient and surface-level. Truly, I think Olivia and Cillian's story could be a series on its own, and I'd happily follow along with more depth and more time for them to deal with their demons.

I'm unsure if I'll continue this series, but overall, it's an entertaining and easy-to-read mafia romance.

**Thank you to Forever, NetGalley, and Katee Robert for a copy of Twisted Secrets in exchange for my voluntary, honest review!**

This series is a good one! The first one really hooked me in and this one did not disappoint either! I love Katee Robert books and her spice is soooo good!

Katee Robert does spice like no other. This book was all about healing after trauma and losses. While fast paced and action packed, the timeline of events was believable. Each O'Malley sibling is so much deeper then meets the eye, and so far I think Cillian is my favorite.

This book picks up pretty quickly after the events of the previous book. Cillian is dealing with the loss of Devlin still, but in an honestly responsible way. He does not drink away his sorrows and instead seems to be trying to turn a new page so that he might prevent past events from occurring again. It is upsetting though that no one in his family seems to see this change, and instead still thinks he is the irresponsible party boy of his past.

Olivia is just trying to make a better life for herself and her adorable daughter Hadley. She works hard and refuses to compromise her morals. She is a strong female character who understands the mafia life. Her backstory is sad, but the determination she feels to escape it is great.

Together, Olivia and Cillian make sense. They are both trying to escape their past and make themselves better. They learn to trust one another. Overall it is a really believable love story with funny, sweet, emotional and of course spicy moments. I just hope in the future the O'Malley siblings will all come together and rekindle their familial bonds that fell apart with Devlin's death.

There was nothing really all that different or special about this mafia romance. Easy and fast to read.

Rating: 5/5
I received an eARC for my honest opinion.

Would you allow your past to make the choices for your future?

I love these mob family books so much and getting to see each child of the O’Malley family find the one person that makes them happy and will do anything for them is so much fun to read. I really enjoyed getting to know more about Cillian, he was always the one that was quiet in the other books, and I really wanted to see what he was really about.

Cillian, the fun, parting boy that knows the life he lives and understands that not everyone will fit right into his family's wild, crazy life. I liked that we saw how Cillian handled his brother’s death and how he slowly changed his life around with stopping the partying and drinking. However, no one in the family really saw that he had changed and just assumed he was still the same old person but not Olivia. She can tell that something is different with this man, and in a moment of weakness she blows caution to the wind, and it will change her life forever… Hopefully it's for the best.

Olivia is running from her past and trying to start a new life for her and her daughter. However, some people from her past will not let her go and will do just about anything to make sure that she is still part of the “family” that she wants nothing to do with. Yet, when Cillian O’Malley keeps coming to the bar and talking to her on her shift, she starts to feel things she thought died a year ago. She tries her hardest to stay away from this man, but she can’t, she keeps getting drawn to him.

I loved those characters together so much. They’re both damaged from their past, yet they both hope and have some amazing dreams for their future. The main one is that they both want to be loved and find someone that makes them feel at peace. I loved that in this book the author brought another mob family more into the mix and one that I really didn’t see coming. You can read this book as a standalone but why would you? All of her books are amazing alone but when you read them together it makes the story even better.

This book was originally called Indecent Proposal but now with a new name and amazingly beautiful cover it's coming back around and make sure to read the O’Malley series. I know I can’t wait to read book four. If you like steamy reads, action filled book, romance and drama you should read this book and the others.

I want to thank NetGalley and Forever publishing for the opportunity to review this book.

After reading the first three books I was excited to read this one. But sadly the main character was just a no for me. I made it about 40% in and called it quits.

This book is a great intro into Mafia Romance! It is not super dark but definitely introduces you to the themes of the sub-genre. It was a nice easy read that was engaging and fun! I loved the dynamic between Olivia and her daughter! The trust and loyalty between the Cillian and Olivia was so beautiful, and the spice was fantastic!

Olivia has run from her past to the relative safety of Boston where she had started a new life with her daughter Hadley. Everything changes when she hooks up with Cillian O'Malley, who is part of the dangerous O'Malley family. When Olivia's half brother sends her ex, Sergei, to bring her back to the Romanov family in New York, Olivia asks Cillian for protection. As they try to avoid the Romanovs, Cillian and Olivia find themselves falling in love.

Fans of Robert will find more to love in Twisted Secrets. Olivia is a strong character and Cillian supports her agency while also meeting her needs.

Love this book! It feels lightly dated but that makes sense since it is a rerelease. Still has that excellent Katee Roberts character work! Love this series.

I love katee robert and her writing and this one gave exactly what I wanted for a mafia style. The chemistry with Cillian and Olivia was excellent. I will say I enjoyed Kate’s Dark Olympus series more, but that is just personal preference!
