Good book with a solid story. Took me a few chapters to get into it but I did enjoy it overall. Solid characters and some very good parts.
If you're ready for an exhilarating ride through life's twists and turns, grab a copy of this book. And some tissue because this will have you crying all of the tears. Wild Heart is an inspiring and captivating memoir that chronicles Dr. Stacey Marie Kerr's adventurous life journey.
In her mid-fifties, after being diagnosed with osteoporosis, she decided to defy convention. Instead of playing it safe, she bought her first Harley-Davidson motorcycle. This bold move set the stage for the next 14 years of her life.
We go along with Stacey on her epic motorcycle tours across the western United States. Alongside her two best friends, she embarks on seven unforgettable journeys filled with drama, introspection, and pure joy. Using these motorcycle adventures as a guide, Stacey reflects on her own past.
As a young woman, Stacey escaped an authoritarian childhood to join the counterculture of the sixties. Her decade spent on The Farm, the largest hippie commune in the United States, was marked by spiritual exploration and clashes with the mother of spiritual midwifery. Later, in her mid-thirties, Stacey would once again reject convention by attending medical school and transforming her life.
Readers will explore themes of marriage, motherhood, powerful spiritual leaders, and the healing power of cannabis. Which is something I truly believe in, unfollow if you must. Through it all, love remains a vital necessity.
Wild Heart is good-humoured and encourages readers to make braver and bolder choices at any age. It's a memoir celebrating freedom, resilience, and winding roads taking us to unexpected destinations.
Thank you to NetGalley, Girl Friday Productions, and Girl Friday Books for a temporary e-ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Super interesting and fun to read! I love a memoir with a strong, unique perspective. Makes me wish I’d gotten a motorcycle and been a bit more adventurous when I was younger.
