This book is haunting and sad. While many of the people in this book have extensive criminal histories, they were still people. Their final words humanize them in a way that death row inmates rarely are - they’re often monsters, when in reality, no matter how evil, they’re still people. This book addresses a heavy topic with incredible respect and dignity, and is a stark examination of what is still a very dark legal practice in parts of the United States.

What an emotional ride! This is topic that that greatly interests me. The writer did a phenomenal job of the layout and flow of this book. Emotionally gripping and extremely educational. My only wish would be that this book was more widely available for the general public. They could truly learn life lessons.

This book is shocking and horrifying. Each entry has the picture and information of a person who was executed, along with the details of prior criminal history and the crime that led to the execution. The details of one case after another after another don't lead to a deadening of the senses, but rather to a growing sense of unease. So many senseless crimes. The stories of the codefendants are included.
