This book was very entertaining. Tamsin is in straightened circumstances due to her half brother banishing her and her younger sister to London. She’d much prefer the country estate where she can ride astride. Hayden (Duke of Ware) hides his true self behind his constant study of entomology. The scene of their meeting is pretty unusual and funny!

I love this series, The Five Deadly Sins. The plots are inventive and the passion is fiery.

4.5⭐️ 1🌶️

Hayden sometimes thought himself a moth. One that circled a blazing torch that was Tamsin, willing to singe his wings for only a moment in the light. Longing for the very thing that terrified him.

Ok, so this book took me by surprise! I loved it way more that I thought I would.

While awkward Heroes can be endearing, and while their stories are nice, they are usually just good enough to enjoy. But I was engrossed with Hayden and Tamsin.

Hayden’s overly large and rough around the edges and a reluctant Duke, after taking over the role when his father and brothers passed years ago. Being the third son, he relished in not having to be a part of polite society and was happy to be lost in his fascination with entomology.

And Tamsin was really great. Resilient and self assured. I felt for her and her struggles with guilt and blame for her family being banished from London. Her need to protect her family takes precedence over her welfare. While this can totally be read as a standalone, so much about the Sinclair family and their circumstance is told in the first book that I highly recommend reading that before this book.

Hayden’s gruff behavior towards Tamsin was definitely off putting initially, but it was quickly reciprocated and there was a battle of wills between Hayden and Tamsin as they had to endure a ruse of an attachment to thwart gossip after they were found in a compromising position. The inner monologue was slow torture as they clearly were feeling things for each other that they didn’t want to admit, and their words contradicted themselves as well. (Ugh, not me getting misty eyed at the scene with the blue butterflies 🦋 🥹)

I loved that there was no silly villain plot to create conflict, just the normal conflict about differences in classes and the lack of acceptance that would bring.

Hayden’s inability to articulate his feelings led the way for their back and forth but eventually when he finally found a way to break through, the chemistry between then undeniable. Once he was determined she was his, there was no going back. He went all alpha on her and I loved it.

While this was a very mild book on spice, the scene on the sofa with the whiskey was so understatedly erotic. 🔥

Kathleen, please do an epilogue book for all of these couples at the end of the series! I definitely miss getting that extra glimpse into the future🫶

This one just felt like a really standard, run of the mill historical romance. I honestly can't really remember anything about this one, nothing really sticks out to me.

I was looking forward to Tamsin's story in the Deadly Sins series and it didn't disappoint.

Tamsin meets the Duke of Ware in a funny, moth-related incident and things go downhill (or uphill? Not sure!) from there.

Kathleen Ayers is such a fun writer and her families and series are like groups of friends. You really want to see things come out well for them!

I recommend.

Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC.

Two unlikely people find a love match, and hilarious moments along the way! Tamsin Sinclair is totally misunderstood, but wait, so is Hayden Redford, Duke of Ware. Can these two find a way to each other after a close encounter. Tamsin is loud and out there, Hayden is quiet and reserved, but opposites attract, right? Another great book in The Five Deadly Sins series.

Super fun series. Eagerly waiting for the next. Loved everything about this story, Ware and Tamsin are both bold and vulnerable characters. The romance was both funny (insect loving hero) and poignant. I enjoy Ms Ayers books and always waiting for the next.

East fun read . Enjoy the series

Sinfully Delightful

A bold spinster and an eccentric duke take us on an entertaining journey. Their garden encounter nearly causes a scandal. Those around them concoct a scheme. Ware cannot marry Tamsin because she is far beneath him, or so they tell him. Their scheme might do the opposite of what the schemers want. The butterfly incident in the garden ignited a spark between Tamsin and Hayden, and it keeps getting bigger. However, the way they squabble, you think they are mortal enemies. What happens when the spark creates an explosion of desire? Will they reject the inevitable? How long can they deny that they lost their hearts? I enjoyed this delightful story and would recommend it to lovers of historical romance.

Oh the laughs. This book was too funny! Both characters related to my life so much. It was a delight to read with the perfect amount of adult content.

What a sweet, romantic story. Neither Ware nor Tamsin were looking for love when they stumbled upon each other. But they were forced to endure each others company to reduce the gossip after being caught in compromising position. The mild enemies to loves trope was so entertaining and I loved their banter! They both had strong reasons to hold back, Tamsin with her poor reputation and Ware not wanting to be rakes like his father and brothers.

But in the end, Ware pursued her and broke down her barriers and I wish got to see more of them as a settled couple! Overall, another great book from Kathleen Ayers and, of course, can’t wait for Drew’s story!

This is Book 2 in The Five Deadly Sins series. The Sinclair family is considered to be uncivilized and unacceptable by Society, and Tamsin is nicknamed as one of the deadly sins for her unconventional and bold ways. She speaks her mind and isn't afraid to voice her opinion and sometimes acts without thinking, which has gotten her into trouble. Hayden Redford, Duke of Ware, is a bit of an odd character himself. The social scene doesn't really appeal to him an he would much rather spend his time collecting bugs and attending lectures. One night at a ball, Hayden and Tamsin find themselves in a bit of a compromising situation. Because of her family's reputation, Hayden's aunt pretty much forbids him from doing the honorable thing and marrying her as she is considered so far beneath them. This leaves them only one thing to do to prevent any further gossip from spreading and they pretend to be friends who have similar interests, hoping the ton will get bored with their attachment. As they continue to keep up their ruse, their vague attachment begins to turn into something deeper and real feelings develop between the two. With a lot of witty banter and humor along the way, their friendship turns into something so much more. Hayden and Tamsin are complete opposites, but that is exactly what makes their relationship work.
The story was entertaining and kept me engaged the whole time. The characters were interesting and well-fleshed out and I really enjoyed their interactions and seeing them grow closer. A wonderful addition and I am looking forward to continuing the series!

Thanks to NetGalley for a copy of this ebook and this is my freely given opnion.

This is book 2 of the series and is about the eldest sister Tamsin. She and her family are the offspring of a scandalous match between their earl father and his actress mistress, whom he wed soon after the death of his first wife. They had 5 children, who were shunned and reviled by their half brother, his family, and because of their bitter influence, Society in general. Shortly after the death of their father, the new Earl, their hated half brother shunted them off to a run down estate near the Scottish border and proceeded to run through the Earldom, and leave them to live in neglect and poverty. However, he proceeded to die, leaving the reviled Sinclairs to inherit an impoverished Earldom. Jordan, the new Earl of Emerson, Tamsin's older brother, has proceeded to improve their finances, but the Sinclairs still have to deal with the scandals of their past and work to improve their status in Society, working against the bitter campaign of slander of those who seek to destroy them.

Given half the chance, Tamsin, the eldest sister, would likely turn her back on Society, after a good telling off and likely a few well placed punches. But she loves her family desperately and is willing to try to conform to help their reputations and ensure a good future for her siblings, especially her beloved younger sister. But she is a very square peg, with very sharp corners trying to fit into a very round hole and just does not fit. To top things off, and add to her misery, Tamsin carries a great deal of guilt, and has for many years as she feels that it is directly because of her rebellious actions that their half brother banished them years prior. Prior to their banishment, a very young Tamsin had been harassed by the future heir of the Duke of Ware, and after suffering through this repeatedly defended herself from his unwanted groping by breaking his nose.

All I can say to that is GO GIRL! Break that nose and knee him in the balls to boot (get it?).

But of course Society during the Regency expects differently from it's young ladies and the blame of course would lie with Tamsin, not the pervy molesting Marquess. This was used as the "last straw" for the hateful brother to banish his unwanted newly bereaved stepmother and her unwanted spawn to the hinterland. Of course, I think we all know that he was likely planning this to begin with, and Tamsin's actions were merely convenient for his plans. As a side note though - shame on their father for not arranging for their safe future - knowing how his second wife and family are viewed by Society and likely having an idea for how his first son felt - he should have arranged better for their financial security and futures while he was alive and able!

Regardless, Tamsin carries the heavy burden of guilt for their exile, and their subsequent poverty and her mother's decline in health and death. To this end, she martyrs herself for her family and does not see herself as deserving of any good thing.

Hayden is the current Duke of Ware - he was born the youngest son, and the brother of the heir whose nose Tamsin broke so many years prior. He is the polar opposite of his siblings and father, who were scandalous rakes themselves. Instead, he is known to be scholarly and obsessed with bugs. He is also a very close friend and self professed cousin to Odessa, the new Countess of Emerson, the wife of Jordan, and we met him in book 1 as well. Behind the scholarly, odd, reticent facade, Ware hides a fascinating, deep, passionate personality who is enthralled by the beautiful Tamsin - in fact, he saw and admired her from the moment he saw her break his brother's nose (obviously he was not a fan of his brother either and yay to men who love strong independent women who stand up for their themselves!).

He and Tamsin are forced into an alliance when caught in a salacious and compromising situation in the garden. In order to save their reputations from being smeared further, and to prevent the spreading stain from affecting her sister's debut, they arrange to spend time together to allay the rumours, fabricating a scholarly friendship rather than something more scandalous. Of course as they spend time together, they grow closer and when the time comes for the planned severing of the so-called friendship, Ware finds that he wants more. But Tamsin is afraid that she is not good enough for him.

I loved the interesting and nuanced characters of Tamsin and Ware - especially Ware. He had so many hidden qualities that came out during the story that I just loved. Ayers has this ability to write wonderfully flawed characters that I really grow attached too and this was a fine example of them. I loved the give and take of their relationship. Tamsin's martyrdom and sense of guilt are almost overwhelming at times. But the support of her family and her interactions with them were lovely. I love the odd quirks too - Ware's bug fascination, Odessa's obsession with the morbid and gothic... Jordan's pride in his pigs...

4.75 stars out of 5.

I just wish I knew more about the younger male Sinclairs - they really are only mentioned in passing so far, though I suspect we shall be seeing more of them in the future.

I love this book.

I love this author.

I love Tamsin and Hayden. I've enjoyed every installment so far and am glad that I was granted the opportunity to review this :D Tamsin is an endearingly lovable character and I already love Hayden. Their romance was cute to read, I love a good spinster story.

I can't wait for the next part.

Love love love this book. Tamsin and Hayden are just so good together. So much chemistry even while both try to live in denial. And the consummation scene - and the surprise thereafter - very hot. I also love the Sinclair family interaction, just as I did in the first installment of the Five Deadly Sins series. The younger sister is endlessly amusing, I highly recommend "Sinfully Tempted."

5 stars. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a complimentary ARC of this book. The opinions herein are my own.

Such a great read! Lady Tamsin Sinclair the 26 year old sister of the now Earl of Emerson, Jordan, is in London preparing to see her younger sister, Aurora, ready for her coming out. Tamsin herself expects to remain a spinster having singular affairs only until one evening at a ball she takes the air in the garden and is seemingly beset by a giant on the hunt for a moth which had settled upon her bare knee after she had lifter her skirt to gain fresh air. An arch enemy of the family, a Longwood, sees them and causes a problem so that Tamsin and the giant who is in fact Hayden Redford, the Duke of Ware, and an entomologist besides also being a friend of Odessa's is saved from a delicate situation by a proposal to accompany the Lady Tamsin to show friendship only rather than anything more. In fact, Ware has crushed on the beautiful, voluptuous, non-conformist, Tamsin since she punched and broke his older brother's nose when Ware was but 17 and Tamsin 16. Forced to spend time together is not quite as one would normally expect and this is an unusual romance but a terribly good one that will keep one attached to the pages like a moth pinned to a board. Even the sex scenes are a bit unusual. Loved it. Received this arc and have voluntarily reviewed.

“You would dare shred my reputation?” he said in such an icy tone goosebumps formed along Tamsin’s arm.
“Your Grace,” Lady Longwood murmured. “I did not realize you were in attendance this evening.”
“Now you do.” “Please. Continue to shred my reputation. I would hear your opinions for myself. As would my mother.”

Oooo weeee, looka here looka here! I love it when the Duke of Ware goes all “duke-ish” on 'em…yes sirrrr….the "leak" goes from drip drip to skadoosh! Y’all Kathleen Ayers knows how to write her leading men. Even when we hate them, we love them. Now that’s good writing folks. And let me tell you…she wrote the heck outta Hayden Redford in Sinfully Tempted. He's big, protective, sarcastic, smart…surprisingly charming ...and he's a Duke 😍🫠❣️.

When I read that Tamsin and Hayden were next in the series I got soooo excited my imaginary tail started wagging. IF you read the first book…which I urge you to do if you haven't (sooo good), you know that Hayden loves bugs more than most people. That is until he meets Tamsin Sinclair. Tamsin is a whole handful. She's feisty, outspoken and not a woman to be trifled with."

Together, she and Hayden are like vinegar and oil. They don't mix well…but when combined, they are delicious together. When the two find themselves discovered in a compromising situation involving a moth and Hayden on his knees beneath her skirts, the two are forced to spend time with one another to stave off a scandal…cause there's no way in hayle that Hayden would marry one of the Deadly Sins.

While not reaching the scorching levels of her other novels, the sizzling chemistry between Hayden and Tamsin is simply undeniable. Every aspect of this duo delighted me. Their witty banter back and forth, their total disdain for another, their overall synergy …just everything. I cant wait to see whats next in this series. I'm practically on the edge of my seat anticipating the upcoming antics of the lingering deadly sins.

What a wonderful and original storyline! I loved everything about this book. The characters were fabulous. Hayden, the eccentric Duke , was more comfortable with his insects and moths than conversing with people. Tamsin was outspoken and unconventional , and the subject of old biddy gossips wherever she went. Together they were a force to be reckoned with! Their fake courtship, to squelch the gossip, went from love/hate into a passionate romance. The clever banter and sarcasm between these two made me laugh and smile with delight! Well done!

One of the things I like most about Kathleen Ayers and her books is the way she develops a character. When I finished this book I could feel the awkwardness of Hayden and his deep love of entomology where he doesn't quite fit in a world where Dukes manage people who manage their properties and not much else but enjoy life, as well as the pain and guilt that Tasmin felt due to her reactions to certain situations that she seems to think changed the course of her family’s life. I also love how often the primary male character in her books can be endearing and kind when so often the male characters are dark and broody rakes that the beautiful lady has to turn into a loving husband. When I’m done with one of her books I feel like I know the characters more than I do when I am reading works from many other authors.

Well, enough waxing on about the books, I’m here to talk about this book and I really liked it, it didn't have the laugh out loud qualities of its predecessor in this series but I loved the relationship that grew between Hayden and Tasmin after their innocent but slightly naughty introduction in the garden when he was hunting moths. The steam level was strong and the villain of the series, Lady Longwood returns with a vengeance but all these things mixed together makes this another great one in The Five Deadly Sins series and I look forward to the next three and getting to know the Sinclair family better.

After the delightful story about the macabre Odessa and her pig-farmer, Jordan, I was looking forward to this next installment. It can be read as a stand-alone but the previous installment, Sinfully Wed, is better in my opinion. Hayden and Tamsin had little chemistry other than what the author told us and it seemed like their story unfolded quickly with little interaction between them besides one incident in their youth that stuck with him, plus a few outings pairing them together. The whole thing didn’t come together for me, including the ending which seemed rushed and unsatisfying. Within the story there is a side story setting up what I hope is the next book about Tamsin’s brother Drew and his mystery woman. This one was a miss for me, but even Babe Ruth missed more than he hit, so I’ll never hold it against Kathleen Ayers, who’s one of my favorite historical authors!

Tamsin and Ware’s relationship made for a book that was highly entertaining. Lots of banter and the awkwardness between them and undeniable attraction.

Tamsin experiences guilt for her past actions impact on her and her family. Wares is under the shadow of his father and brothers.

The couple work through their issues and it does end with a nice HEA

I received an ARC from NetGalley. This is my honest review.
