Yes! I knew Tamsin's book would be good. My heart went out to her for all the guilt she carries, but even more for the way she is treated by society. It always appalls me that people who think they are good and above reproach will talk down to people and treat them unkind over something that usually isn't any of their business. It makes them more unappealing than the person they are ridiculing. And we had this in spades for Lady Tamsin. But wait, we have Hayden, Duke of Ware. How he stood up for Tamsin had me melting. I loved that he wasn't sure how to let her know his feelings. The banter between them was wonderful!
I truly love this series and can not wait for the next one!
Tempting a Duke would be a sin most grievous- especially for someone like Tamsin Sinclair. Which is why Tamsin does her best to avoid socializing at these horrid society events. She’s content in the knowledge that she is practically a spinster, and the only reason that she is even bothering is because she wants her younger sister to have a wonderful debut next season. All of this is good in theory, but Tamsin was never so lucky.
While at a party, Tamsin decides to get some air and wanders out to the gardens. When a moth lands on her knee, she is shocked to find herself accosted by the odd Duke of Ware- an entomologist who is collecting specimen for his research. When they are discovered together by the horrible Lady Longwood, what follows is a plot to save the Duke from having to marry Tamsin. After all, Tamsin is fully aware that she is not the type of woman that should become a duchess. Little does Tamsin know, however, that Ware has his own ideas. Ware is determined to have Tamsin, she has haunted him for years and he is tired of waiting for the woman who has so affected his heart.
This story was perfect. An easy read that hit all the marks- entertaining, humorous, and heart poundingly delicious. Two main characters that were equally lovable and entertaining (but I’ll admit to being a huge Ware fan). Not to mention the perfect slow burn romance. I loved this historical romance so much. My only gripe is that I have to wait to read the next book in the series. I can’t get enough of the Sinclair family
-Dual POV
-Slow burn romance
-Historical romance
-Forced proximity
-Stoic x passionate
-Open door- Moderate detail

An interesting pretend courtship between the Duke of Ware, an entomologist, and the unconventional Lady Tamsin Sinclair.
Most notable, the Sinclair family are seen by the Polite Society as unacceptable. Considered too independent, she has gotten into a lot of trouble speaking her mind and physically expressing her opinion. Between butterflies, moths and beetles, Tamsin and Ware end up in precarious situations with hilarious results. Continuous snickers throughout the book. Open sex.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
Sinfully Tempted is the story of Lady Tamsin Sinclair with the Duke of Ware.
Lady Sinclair was a hard to love character. She had the potential to be a strong and wit woman who instead was affected by years of self imposed guilt. That made her silly and the victim to other mean and silly as well characters.
Honestly the first part of the book was hard to read due to the slow and forced created plot of how the protagonists were found in a compromising scene which is the point of the whole book. Overall, the book lacks humor, and rhythm. Hopefully the rest of the Sinclair family members get to have a more historical entertaining story in the following books.
Sinfully Tempted. Ware and Tamsin are the total package of entertainment in their story. These two shared interesting tongue lashings when they couldn’t fathom of telling one another how they felt. Other times when they felt that the other was being threatened they banned together to use what ever artillery that they had. The story shares a great deal of information on insects, beetles and moth. That’s where the story loses me, but it instantly picks back when the writer shares the beautiful romance of Ware and Tamsin. I liked that Tamsin’s character was a young lady oh twenty-six who challenges the Duke whom people would never challenge. I can’t forget to talk about the humor that pushes this young couple towards each other. Until next time. Read on. I received a copy of this book for a voluntary honest review.
This story checked off so many of my boxes. Snarky, delicious dialog. Check. Big guy (yeah, I love the big guys). Check. Tension galore (holy cow, so much tension). Double check. This was a perfect story for me. Kathleen’s writing is so effortless that it beckons you to continue reading and not stopping until you finish. I kept reading chapter after chapter, never want to put it down until I was finished. Hayden and Tamsin are so perfect for each other. I loved, loved all of their dialog. I’m such a facetious person that all of their dialog fed me. You just know Hayden and Tamsin will continue fighting but the makeup is all that much sweeter. Fantastic story.
Sister to the Earl of Emerson, spirited, short-tempered, strong and willing to do anything for her siblings, Lady Tamsin Sinclair is cast out by Society as a disgrace. Utterly unsuitable for anything but scandal.
Tall, dark and awkward, Hayden Redford, Duke of Ware, is a passionate entomologist and determined to be nothing like his philandering father and debauched elder brothers who all tragically died.
When Tamsin and Ware are discovered in what looks like a compromising situation by the ton’s biggest viper and Tamsin’s lifelong nemesis in his aunt’s garden, a plan is set in motion to dispel the gossip and extricate the Duke from such a disastrous match. The hoyden and the bear are to feign a casual friendship based on his scientific interests, an acquaintance that will fade over time and all will be forgotten…
Tamsin soon discovers there’s something delectably appealing in stroking her bear the wrong way. Grumpy, inarticulate and utterly vexing he may be, but he’s also fiercely loyal. Yet, her reputation would only ruin him, ruin her sister’s chances and break her heart.
Ware has admired Tamsin ever since she broke his brother’s nose over a decade ago, and he’s enraptured by this sharp-tonged, clever little vixen. He sees her vulnerability, her insecurity. She’ll fight and protect her own at any cost, but who will protect her?
📚 This story thrives on the MCs' ability to bring out each other's worst. They bicker and banter as they become increasingly attached to each other. Their chemistry is amazing! The book is witty, sharp, endearing and romantic with a nice helping of delicious steam and completely riveting until the end! I’m looking forward to reading the next one in this series!
📚 Enemies to lovers, fake courtship, virgin MMC, steamy, forbidden romance
Thank you to Kathleen Ayers, Dragonblade Publishing and NetGalley for this ARC! All opinions are entirely my own.
"Sinfully Tempted" written by Kathleen Ayers is the second book in The Five Deadly Sins Series. Tamsin Sinclair is the daughter of an earl but she doesn't act the part. She feels the guilt for her family's troubles, she is impulsive, likes to wear breeches while riding, and doesn't hesitate to speak her mind. At fifteen, Tamsin broke the nose of a noble who was taking unwanted liberties, she tossed a pastry at a Lady, and is disliked by many members of the ton.
Hayden Redford, Duke of Ware is a quiet man of science, he was the third son, is a very large man, he had a difficult childhood, and is constantly trying to live down the reputations of his father and elder brothers. These two meet at a ball when Ware is after a moth that lands on Tamsin’s knee. When they are discovered by a gossiping busybody, a plan had to be formed to avert disaster. They are forced to pretend to have an attachment, so they spend innocent time together to stop the spread of scandal (and because Ware’s aunt does not want Ware marrying Tamsin). They don’t really like each other but over the course of time things begin to change. I really enjoyed this book, the plot was well written, the overall story was very good. I liked the two leads the most. I enjoyed their banter during their outings together and the pace of their growing relationship. It is unusual to have a duke as an Entomologist and a naturalist and the couple go hunting for moths in the park, but it worked and made him a more interesting character. These two were opposites in some way which sometimes made it difficult for them to get along, but they were perfect for one another. Their happy ever after was hard won, but definitely worth the time and effort. The steam level is extra spicy and well written into the story. This is the kind of story you put up for awhile and bring it out again to reread. Recommended for lovers of the steamy Regency genre. I received this book through NetGallery, my thoughts and opinions are my own.
Fall in love with this tale of two people who follow their own ideas and dreams to the scorn of society.
Tamsin has raced horses and even broke a man’s nose. Ware is a Duke but he is a scientist at heart.
When they are caught in a unusual compromising situation, they are thrown into a whirlwind of fending off the ton and it’s gossip.
As they spend time together, they learn to appreciate each other and their idiosyncrasies. Tamsin is worried about the past and her personal baggage. After all, it was the Dukes brother whose nose was broken.
Ware is falling in love but he is too unworldly to express his feelings.
A fun and fast paced story that is too easy to read in one sitting.
Highly recommend.
Tamsin Sinclair is known for her bold manner. As a Sinclair, nicknamed one of the Deadly Sins she is expected to be improper and uncivilized. Seeking solace from the unrelenting whispers about her at a ball, Tamsin retreats to the gardens and makes the unexpected acquaintance of the eccentric, moth collecting, Hayden Redford Duke of Ware, who is merely collecting specimens during his aunt’s ball but he makes the poor choice to pluck a moth from Tamsin's knee. Even worse, their encounter is witnessed by the malicious Lady Longwood. There remains only one solution which will salvage reputations and keep Ware from wedding so far beneath him. A charade is decided upon.
The second book in the series about the Sinclair siblings & whilst it could easily be read on its own, I enjoyed catching up with Jordan & Odessa. A very well written, well paced book with lovely characters. I loved the britches wearing, outspoken Tamsin & the insect loving Ware they were perfect for each other, the banter between them was witty & the chemistry just got hotter & hotter. It was an unconventional courtship but it made for a good read, which I found hard to put down.
My review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
Because of her family history and her own past behaviour Tamsin Sinclair is not at all acceptable to society. She would much prefer the countryside to Town.
Our heroine has a very difficult time coping with other people and her own self worth.
Hayden Redford, Duke of Ware hides behind his intelect so that he will not be seen as anything like his father.
Our hero is about to face the fact that he has more of his father in his personality than he would like.
This historical romance is part of a series and is much better enjoyed by reading in order, but you could read it on its own. The series covers siblings so they are strongly connected.
I did feel sorry for our heroine, although she is a wonderfully strong character. I felt that the hero was a bit of a bully, and I don't know how our heroine kept her temper under control.
I did cry while reading it, so keep the tissues handy. All your emotions will be tested.
I loved it.
Beautiful slow burn romance, gorgeous writing and witty banter. I love Hayden, Duke of Ware and Lady Tamsin who are both trying desperately not to like each other, like moths to a flame they slowly fall for each other, desire sparks and hearts entangle.
Sinfully Tempted is the second book in The Five Deadly Sins series.
This book focuses on Tamsin Sinclair and the Duke of Ware.
Tamsin believes she is the reason she and her family were banished to the country and struggled to survive. After having arrived in London and attending many balls, Tamsyn finds it all tedious and useless. Escaping to the garden to cool off she is accosted by the Duke of Ware as he attempts to collect a moth from her knee. Tamsin mistakenly believes he is trying to harm her, lashes out and strikes him repeatedly causing her to be the focus of unwanted attention by gossiping and jealous matrons.
A plan is put in place to pretend a courtship for a few weeks and then to drop it as the courtship did not pan out.
The Duke of Ware is considered odd by the Ton. As he was the third son and never expected to become the duke, he doesn't care about what others think of him. He also has made a point to not be the womanizer like his father or brothers were, so he focuses more on Etymology.
Now that the charade is all but finished, Ware and Tamsin have become a little more attached to each other than they planned. But Ware's Aunt threatens Tamsin and her sister Aurora, so she distances herself so that they can return to their country home in peace. Ware has his own agenda where Tamsin is concerned but will she finally see that they are oddly perfectly suited for one another, or will she continue to believe that she is to blame for her family's circumstances.
This was a wonderful and entertaining story. I thoroughly enjoyed how odd Tamsin and Ware with one another. It made for fantastic love story.
This is my honest arc review! I received this via NetGalley. I arc read the previous book in this book series and I loved it! I love the historical romance but these characters are a bit better to me with how out of the “norm” their personalities are! The Duke of ware was great and tamsin is one of my favorites of the sins. Great to me because they aren’t fawning all over each other like most historical romances.
What an absolute joy this story is! I love the feisty female, Tamsin with all her quirks. Hayden, a 3rd son, riddled with his father and brothers’ horrible reputation, hides behind his studies. To see each of them grow while having a fake attachment was so very appealing. Many emotions were involved reading this, anger at spiteful ton ladies, swooning over Hayden’s protectiveness, the “deflowering” was hilariously funny. I loved the banter so much! The author does a wonderful job of creating very interesting dialogue between Hayden and Tamsin. The plot was very refreshingly different from most romances that made me devour this story so very quickly!
I received this ARC copy for free and these are my own opinions.
I loved the first book in the series and went into this one with pretty high expectations. Although I did not like this one as much as its predecessor, I still thoroughly enjoyed it. I was right in thinking that Tamsin and Odessa would get along and loved getting to see those two women interact. The author does a really great job of developing Tamsin as a character - there is a lot of mention of the guilt she carries but it never feels repetitive. I really liked the part with her family telling her to leave that guilt behind because none of them blame her - it's clear that they have told her this before but she just wasn't able/ready to hear it. These siblings are so supportive of one another and that was made very clear in this book. As for Ware, it's good that we got his POV otherwise he would have been really hard to like. Without understanding why he often said insulting things to Tamsin he would have just been a jerk. We also have Odessa's approval so we know he can't be too bad. The bickering between these two offers some levity between them too. One of my favorite interactions between Ware and Tamsin is toward the end when he tells her he will always step up to protect her and she tells him she will need to get used to that. It's the final sign that these two are going to be okay and their bond will only grow over time. As with the first book, I would have loved to have an epilogue to find out more about how Lady Curchon reacts to the news of their engagement, but other than that there isn't really anything I would add or change about this book. I'm sure we will get to see more of Lady Longwood in future books - I am really looking forward to her downfall. There are some hints about what is going on with Drew, but I'm looking forward to finding out what the rest of this family has been up to.
This second book of the Five Deadly Sins series is so much fun! A lot of banter, witty remarks, awkward situations, intriguing and humorous POVs of the main characters, this all contributes to make this book even better than the previous one. I laughed out loud by myself quite a few times while reading and I couldn’t seem to put it down! The amusing side is also perfectly complemented by a few touching moments that really tore at my heartstrings. Ayers is an astounding writer, capable of creating complex and very human characters such as Tamsin and Ware and her plots are always intriguing and compelling. I’m loving this series so much!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I truly enjoyed reading this book - Sinfully Tempted, which Book #2 in the series ‘The Five Deadly Sins’. This is my first reading a Kathleen Ayers book, and I cannot wait to read more of it. Kathleen has written such beautiful characters. Especially, the hero - Hayden Redford, the Duke of Ware. I would have preferred a similar depth of character for the heroine, Lady Tamsin Sinclair. Her was not bad at all however, she is said to have boxed a duke’s ears, thrown a cake at a society matron (because she deserved it) and roses is breeches. However, throughout the book she’s also shown as a person struck with guilt and self-pity. It has some misalignment in character for me personally. I expected her to make more bold choices. Either way, it’s an absolute great regency romance read with some steamy scenes (wish there more of it!).
I would actually give this 4.5 but rounded up to 5. I also want thank NetGalley and the publisher Dragonblade publishing for ARC of the book. All opinions are my own.
P.S. Going to read more Kathleen Ayers book right away.
I have been waiting for the second book in the Five Deadly Sins series - it was well worth my patience. Kathleen Ayers is one of my top authors as her stories are captivating, her steam is HOT and her characters are well-written and multifaceted. I knew I would like the moth-loving Duke, I love how he was more 'Dukey' than I thought he would be. He had charm, arrogance and was likable and I wanted him to have a HEA. Tamsin was my kind of Hoyden - spirited, opinionated, vulnerable, strong and loving. I knew I would like her when she was introduced in Sinfully Wed but loved her in Sinfully Tempted.
The story kept me page-turning and I did not want it to end. I would recommend reading the books in order as KA is really great at including the whole family throughout a series. It is another one of my favourite things in her books as I grow very attached to them all and love catching up with them all.
I thoroughly enjoyed Tamsin and Hayden (Ware). Both are very odd who do not fit into the mold of "polite society." I loved the banter between these two as they each fight their own internal battles. Their chemistry is emotional and heartbreaking and intense. Ware is definitely considered an eccentric with his studies of Entomology but he uses it was a shield as well. He was never meant to be the Duke of Ware. Tamsin is not a lady but tries to be because of her younger sister. She hides who she is but takes on the responsibility and guilt of why her family was banished and barely survived. I gave this 4 stars because I felt like the end just didn't meet expectations and for me, it was too abrupt. I would have liked to see more development here. But overall, it was a good read.
