I've been a fan of Janet Evanovich since she wrote her Loveswept romances wayyyy back in the day and have devoured every Stephanie Plum book since the beginning. I finished this book in 3 hours.
That said, the thing that I immediately do now is go to the back and see if she has chosen Ranger or Morelli. and then go and read the book. (Team Morelli!)
This book is just like the other 29 books in that she has crazy adventures at her cousin's bail bond, with Lula, Connie, Grandma Mazur, Bob the dog, and some quirky new characters. What I mean is that after 29 other books, Stephanie needs to choose between Ranger and Morelli - or not - but I feel at this point Ms. Evanovich is just dragging us along to buy new books to see who Stephanie chooses, because the stories are starting to all run together.
Dirty Thirty involves a local jeweler who thinks his security guard has stolen some diamonds and Stephanie and the gang try to find them. Lula has craziness (of course she does) and Grandma Mazur and Steph's mom are along for more hijinks. While Morelli is out of town, Ranger moves in. Again.
I guess after this many books, I'm just ready for things to get settled. The adventures don't have to end, they can be different.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC. All opinions are my own. My rating is 3.5 because I think we need some conclusions.
Title: Dirty Thirty (Stephanie Plum #30)
Author: Janet Evanovich
Pub Date: October 31st, 2023
Rating: 5/5
OK so I am VERY biased when it comes to my girl Stephanie. This is my favorite series and I actually reread ALL THE TIME. I’ve been very blessed to have been able to be an early reader for the last few and this one she KNOCKED IT OUT OF THE PARK!
All the favorites are back but I thought the plot was deeper and actually really good. It ends on a HUGE cliff hanger! The supporting characters in these books are second to none and they continue to make me laugh out loud.
Go buy this book!
Thank you Atria Books for my advanced reader copy in exchange for my honest review!
Everything you’d expect out of a stephanie plum novel: Morelli vs. Ranger, Grandma going to a viewing, firebombing, and some seriously funny one liners from Lula. One of the better ones to come out of this series as of late!!
I was starting to burn out in these books in the early 20s part of the series but I think the quality has gone back up. If you’re reading this series too 30 books in you know they’re light and silly. I’m seeing a sense of fun in this one I wasn’t seeing for a few books. I think a series fan will enjoy this one.
Who doesn't immediately love Janet Evanovich's novels about the famous bounty hunter, Stephanie Plum?! I look forward to these every single year, and this one did not disappoint. Somehow Evanovich finds new twists and turns to add into the crazy life of Plum and her sidekicks, Lula, Bob the dog, and Grandma. I laughed out loud, I stayed up late, and I loved the way this one ended - already looking forward to next year's!
As the title says this is the 30th adventure for Stephanie Plum. If you’re a fan of the series this is an easy book to recommend. Cases include finding a former security guard who may have stolen diamonds from a jeweler, while she also hunts a fugitive wanted for robbing the same store. Lulu and Grandma Mazur are there to lend a hand. Boyfriend Morelli is out of town but Stephanie is taking care of his chew everything giant dog. This is funny with twists and turns. I started the series in the middle of the books so you can join at any time. If you want you can always go back and read previous adventures. The author of course leaves you waiting for her next book.
Thirty?? Already?? It's not possible that either Janet Evanovich ( and me) are old enough for this!
Still the same fun ride with Stephanie, Lula, Grandma, Bob and of course the men. So many cliffhangers - please don't make us wait a year for the next one!!
Laugh out loud places are abundant - so don't try reading in public, quiet places!
Thank you to Janet Evanovich, Atria Books, and NetGalley for providing me with a free ebook in exchange for an honest review.
The THIRTIETH!!!! installment of the Stephanie Plum series does not disappoint! There are shoot-outs, car chases, crashes, donuts, treasure, and explosions! Lula finds a string of men to date, Grandma needs to be driven to a viewing, Bob the dog eats a box of donuts.
In spite of having a similar set-up and plot for each of the books in this series, Janet Evanovich does a spectacular job of keeping it fresh and interesting. She is a master both of characters and of action. I love this series!
Gear up readers for another adventure with Stephanie and Lula. If you enjoy the other books in the series than I think you'll enjoy this one as well. I would say it is a pretty typical read in this series. A bit less Grandma in this one, which I found a little disappointing, but still a fun read. Another quick, laugh out loud read.
A solid, and fun, addition to the series. I always enjoy these. And what a cliffhanger! I can't wait for the next one!
Janet Evanovich wrote an entertaining as always Stephanie Plum book. The Storyline was fun, but Stephanie's conflicting feelings between Joe and Ranger was a bit repetitive of past books. Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the ARC copy.
How does the author do it? Give us the Stephanie Plum formula, while keeping it fresh and fun, without being formulaic. When will 31 be out? I can't wait!
I don't know if I will ever be tired of reading Janet Evanovich books about Stephanie Plum. Her and LuLu and Grandma always seem to get up to some sort of trouble and I will always be along for the ride. Morelli was absent for most of this book, and it was really nice to have Ranger more prominent. I cannot wait for Book 31.
Stephanie Plum is still in the Burg, still hunting FTAs, and still stuck between Morelli and Ranger. Grandma Mazur and Lula are as helpful as ever, their colorful personalities jumping off the page throughout the variety of hijinks we're used to in these books.
I love that the things that drew me to the Plum series keeps me coming back. The books are a comfort when life is just a little too tough. They continue to be easy reads and entertaining, with just a little bit of absurdity tied in to keep things moving along and to keep you guessing.
The ending of this part of the series takes a bit of an unexpected turn as the novel winds down, and I can't believe I have to wait a year to find out what happens! Stephanie's gotten herself in it again!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for giving me the ARC. All opinions are my own.
Another great installment in the wonderful Stephanie Plum series. I have read this series from the beginning and I can't get enough
I’ve read all of Evanovich’s books and enjoyed each one. Dirty Thirty is one of the best ones! Stephanie never disappoints and can always find a way to mix things up and come out just fine! Lula plays a big part in this book and is, as usual, quite entertaining!
I like seeing Stephanie’s mother and Grandma on the stakeout and then later mom is knitting a 37 foot scarf!! And the ending of this one - oh my goodness!
Stephanie Plum, failure at bounty hunting, is a funny and sweet character you cannot help but love. This book, along with the 29 others, is full of laughs and silly antics. If you love the series, you will enjoy!
Dirty Thirty returns us to Stephanie Plum and her inept ability at being a bounty hunter. This time Stephanie is trying to track down Duncan Dugan who is suspected of robbing a jewelry store. In addition, the jewelry store owner has hired Stephanie to locate his missing security guard who he believes was involved in the robbery.
Overall, same story, different case. Still enjoyable to read. Wondering if a conclusion to this series is planned?
The mystery is well-plotted and full of twists and turns.
There are plenty of suspects, including a rival bounty hunter, a jewel thief, and even Stephanie's best friend Lula's boyfriend. The characters are also well-developed and likable.
Stephanie is a relatable and resourceful protagonist, and the supporting cast is full of colorful characters.
The characters can be quite humorous at times.
It's hard to make a Stephanie Plum review sound different from the Stephanie Plum review that came before it. Or the 423 that came before that. Suffice it to say, Stephanie is doing her goofy Stephanie thing, with large dollops of Ranger, Lula, Connie, and Grandma Mazur to add to the craziness. Totally fulfilling, a bit of fluff that will mostly leave your brain the moment that you close the book, but you'll come away smiling.
