This is a great lettering book! There's lots of beautiful examples of fonts, patterns, and information on how to make your own designs. It would be nice if there was room to practice in this book, but there's helpful information on which way to write and how to bring your lettering to life.

This is a great book for those who want to learn lettering or are looking for tips on how to improve their own lettering. I have been lettering for most of my life, but still enjoy seeing new fonts and styles and this book definitely provided that!

What a fun book! The Getting Started chapter covers supplies and shows in color photos the results achieved with different items. The second chapter, Creative Lettering for Beginners, goes over basics and lettering styles. The remaining chapters are on embellishing - Adding Extra Sparkle, Colors and Blending, and Oodles of Doodles, before the Putting It All Together chapter, where you figure out layout and composition of an art piece incorporating the things you've learned. The book covers flourishes, shadows, color blending, and banners. There is a lot of great info in here, and examples both in photos and in colored type. Some of the words are even in languages other than English.
This is a nice book for people who are interested in making word art that is next level.

What a wonderful book! I saw this on NetGalley and had to request it because my daughter (7) is obsessed with lettering. We've been exploring it together and it's amazing. It's packed with tips on tools and techniques and covers so many different styles that there will be something in here for everyone. More books like this one please!

I saw this cute cover and couldn’t resist grabbing this book. It was short but had some very detailed instructions on lettering. There were different fonts described and many sample alphabets and ideas for enhancing basic letters. A bonus was some little pictures to doodle. I got this e-book free on NetGalley but I wouldn’t hesitate picking up a physical copy to keep on my “art” bookshelf.

This is a great introduction to calligraphy and special lettering. From equipment needed to technique to great illustrations, it’s a perfect intro to the art for anyone so inclined.

A fantastic resource book for any arty person. Filled with great tips and information about colours and how to use them to your advantage in your art.

This book perked my interest as I have a BuJo and was at a loss for nice fonts for titles etc. I loved how bright and colourful the art is in this book, as well as how detailed the techniques are. The step-by-step lettering guides are fantastic. I would recommend this book to anyone looking to try their hand at calligraphy, I would also love to own this myself to refer to when needing a little bit of lettering inspo!

Love this guide to lettering and calligraphy. As a true beginner I felt it gave me the knowledge to get started and have some fun!

It's a lovely guide on how to do a few different types of calligraphy and special letters and there is a guide on what tools are the best to use for a desired effect. It's colourful and clear, so it's very user-friendly, especially for a beginner.

I spent a fun afternoon trying to do all of the different types of writing.

A great start for everyone who wish to start practicing hand lettering.
Nicely explained what you need, how to warm up and pictures that show how to do it.

Really like the different ways you can decorate the letters and the doodles.

The book gives a good overview of the various lettering techniques. Which is both an advantage and a drawback, as it is tackling too many different things without going in depths for any.
But overall it is a good headstart with some practical tips, equipment recommendation and warm up exercises

This book is beautifully illustrated, with lots of information, easy to follow steps and pictures that show exactly what one should do to learn the art of calligraphy. I can't wait to start playing with what I learned.

A Beginner's Step-by-Step Guide to Creating Amazing Lettered Art - Explore New Styles, Colors, and Mediums. This is an inspiring instruction and guidebook. The variety of styles used and the use of different languages and their translations I thought were pretty interesting. I loved the quotes, and the doodle pages myself. It is full of wonderful illustrations . I feel this book would be great for people who journal ,writers, doodle, scrapbookers, and really all ages.. I personally am a hands of person , I tried a few of these from my App . ( might be different with a actual book in hand) and I have bad hand writing so not sure if that has a play into it but I will be honest this book isn't right for me , but with that said it is VERY well laid out and kind of easy to follow , my 17 year old loves it , my 14 year old said it's ok.

The illustrated lessons are clear and easy to follow.

I appreciate the author sharing the 4 basic types of hand lettering and using this as the base for the lessons.

The resources page in the back of the book has a list of recommended art supply brands and where to find the authors work online that is very useful.

I’ve always been in interested in hand lettering and calligraphy and Grave Frösén’s Special Effects Lettering and Calligraphy has given me the opportunity to learn and practice the strokes needed to create this pretty handwriting.

Every step is easy to follow and is easy to practice. Within a few hours I had most of the steps down and with continued practice I think I will have enough of a grasp that I would be willing to use it regularly.

I’m a crafter and this will definitely up the quality of my products and add a new skill set for my work.

This book is perfect for me! I recently started using a bullet journal and I always wanted to make pretty spreads with nice lettering. I already started practicing some of the techniques.

This book is a wonderful step-by-step journey from basic writing to fancy lettering. Each step is clearly illustrated and explained and i never felt lost or like I was expected to skip steps.

There are lots of clever and fun techniques demonstrated here, with just enough examples of each to get your ideas going.

I have always been jealous of people who could do calligraphy and fancy lettering. But I never could figure out how to do it myself and so I assumed I just couldn't do it. It was a delight, therefore, to discover that there are techniques that are, when laid out on the page step-by-step, quite simple to learn. I now feel equipped to try creating some fancy lettering of my own.

Really great book for Calligraphy! Has many detailed explanations and examples. If one wants to learn more on this topic, this is an awesome choice!
