A few slow spots with all the realtor information that I didn’t feel was needed but overall A great mystery, different story line then most and lots of twists throughout the story.

Overall I enjoyed reading Person of Interest, but it was definitely a slow burn for me until almost halfway through. I found myself struggling to remain focused. Once the pace picked up, it captured me and I fully enjoyed it from there. It’s unfortunate that’ the drawn out preamble before the it picked up, seemed to overshadow the great story afterwards.

This was the first book I have read by Shirley Day and I enjoyed it. It's definitely a slow burn but that just seems like thrillers in general. A great mystery with lots of twists throughout the story. I also thought the interactions between characters were well done and added some extra dimension to the novel. I would definitely recommend this book!

I know that some real estate professional check the obituaries to see if there's any possible business deal.
Kirstin is one of those person who goes to funeral and mingles with the relatives and friends.
But this time some strainge thing happen and it will a sort of game as Kirsting is both detective and potential victim.
It's a weill done whodunit that kept me reading and guessing. i like the unusual start and enjoyed the novel
Recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher for this ARC, all opinions are mine

3.5 stars. It took me 6 days to finish this one. I usually finish books in 1-2 days. This was a book that I kept putting down due to it dragging in the beginning. The premise of the book was genius. Kirstin is a realtor who finds her next big real estate sale by scoping out funerals. The first half fell short for me. The twists were good, many of which I did not see coming. I did not predict the ending nor did I know what to believe. The suspense buildup was great as well. I also really liked the main character and the detective. The second half of the book was the best part.

Thank you to Bloodhound Books and NetGalley for an advanced copy in exchange for my honest and voluntary review.

"Person of Interest" is a mystery centered around the Milford family. After the death of their matriarch Carolyn, the family beings to be the victims of "incidents." Kristen, a hearse chasing real estate agent, get tied up in events after getting into a car accident. But as incidents and bodies pile up, it is clear something more sinister is going on at the Milford estate.

This book had some pacing problems. There was a long, drawn out preamble before the majority of the action started. I typically prefer my books to grab me immediately so I struggled with this. The book really picks up on the action and intrigue around 30% of the way in. This was definitely a character study in unreliable, deeply flawed characters. From Kristen, to all the Milford siblings, and even several other island locals, everyone had secrets. This kept everything interesting and especially kept me on my toes. However, it did also have the effect of making it impossible to truly like any character. I also wish more information had been given about the follow up to the villain's reveal. That was a pretty big bomb to drop with very little follow up on what the actual repercussions would be. Overall, an enjoyable read that kept me guessing but struggled with pacing and didn't quite stick the landing, even though it had some pretty amazing plot twists.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bloodhound Books for this arc. I am leaving this review voluntarily and all views expressed are my own.

Thank you for the ARC in exchange for my honest review! This was a first read for me from this author and will not be the last. I enjoyed the story and the twists and turns. It seemed like the characters and plot were very thought out and like the author took their time to get it right.

Once this book got going, it was a great story. The only problem was it didn’t start getting there until around chapter 11. There seemed to be too much background information that didn’t really feel needed and even though I do love it when an author 'paints a picture' with their words, this was a little too descriptive at times. I had a hard time putting my kindle down once the story finally got moving, just wish it had been that way the whole time. I love twists & endings that I don’t see coming and this book really pulled through on that part, I didn't see any of it coming! I loved the main character and became very invested in her, the detective was great too and I would love to see either of them in more books.

An unapologetic real estate bloodhound, Kirstin takes no prisoners in her quest to seek out new business opportunities - and that includes attending the funerals of the well-heeled newly departed.

Except this time, things don't quite go according to plan. At the funeral of a wealthy child psychologist, turnout is epic. Even though, as it turns out, she was not in the least well-liked.

After an unfortunate incident with a chandelier and a bad accident, bodies begin popping up in a most disconcerting fashion. And thanks to road conditions, Kristin is soon trapped in a situation where a murderer is clearly at large...

This book is essentially a cosy mystery, but with a ton of twists and a few surprises to offer. There is plenty of family drama, and a few laughs along the way. Recommended for those who like their cosy mysteries with a side of suspense.

This is a unique story in that it treads the line between cozy !mystery and suspenseful thriller, maintaining elements of both. And I absolutely loved it. Brilliant, exciting, intriguing, kept me guessing and on the edge of my seat.

Diving headfirst into a unique storyline where real estate and mystery entwine, I was captivated. Kirstin, our intrepid protagonist, navigates a world filled with secrets and potential danger in a manner that felt incredibly genuine. Throughout the narrative, she remains grounded, reacting in ways that resonate as truly authentic, especially amidst the unexpected and sometimes terrifying circumstances she encounters.

The pacing? Brilliant. Just when I thought I had things figured out, another twist would come into play, further pulling me into the story's depths. And while the character development was exceptional, I was left with a lingering curiosity about the “siblings” and Carolyn's intriguing choices. What was the motive behind her selections? The intrigue around this question added another layer to an already compelling narrative.

Would I recommend this book? Absolutely. It's a tale that showcases the power of storytelling, where every chapter offers something unexpected. An essential addition to any thriller lover's collection. Dive in, and uncover the mysteries of the Milford estate.

A moneymaking opportunity turns into a murder mystery for a young real estate agent.

This was a pretty straight forward mystery. I didn't love it, I didn't hate it. It's fine.
