A book titled after one of Taylor Swift's best songs? Sign me up!

This book was so cute, and easy to read. The characters were extremely likable, and I liked the dual timelines. I only wish that some of the chapters were longer, and we could've gotten some chapters from Roman's POV. The Taylor Swift references throughout the book were an added bonus! Overall, a very cute, fun, holiday read!

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC!!

Really enjoyed this story. The main characters have such a strong bond and work really well together, but have two very different lives. Would recommend

I didn't really get into the book in the beginning; it didn't really pique my interest and I was actually close to dnfing. I think what saved it was the second half of the book, where it got progressively cuter and Aspen had a character development (she was kind of annoying in the beginning but I loved her character growth).

There are Taylor Swift references here and there which make the book hit different (cringe but I had to) because you can never go wrong with Taylor Swift. The songs at the start of each chapter were also very engaging though I didn't listen to any, but I must admit I was kind of scared when I saw Would've Could've Should've at the start of one of the chapters.

Overall, it was an enjoyable book and I hope to see more from the author.

Cute story. Geared toward teen audiences. Clever use of TS song titles to see the tone of the chapter. Initial flow of story hard to follow, but comes together at the end. I did recommend to my teen daughter.

Aspen is caught up in some Hollywood drama involving her best friend/roommate and her boyfriend. She moves back to her parents for some time to lay low and ends up reconnecting with her high school love, Roman. They work the children at the church to put on a Christmas show. They are spending lots of time together and are easily falling back into the way things were but Aspen knows that she is going back to LA once everything calms down so what is the point of getting back with Roman.

This was definitely a cute, light hearted second chance romance! It was not super Christmas based, but I really enjoyed the dual POV as well as the Hollywood connection and drama. I loved the playlist that went with the book and the songs for each chapter. It was immature at times but I read that the author is 16 which would make sense!

Tis The Damn Season is a (mostly) light hearted, holiday second chance romance. I had a fun time reading it and enjoyed reading from the perspective of a celebrity dealing with the media. I found the main characters likeable and their communication refreshing. I liked that it was told in dual timeline. I will say for me the past POV felt more believable, and the present dialogue and conflict sometimes felt juvenile. Finishing the book and finding out the author is only 16 I can understand why.

I think this is a strong first novel for this young author, and I look forward to reading more from her and seeing her grow as a writer! ☺️

A fun second chance romance, especially for Swifties!

The book switches between the present and the past. In the past, Aspen en Roman are high school sweethearts. In the present, they keep finding each other, but neither wants to commit.

I really enjoyed the book. The playlist was amazing! I wish more books had this. The Christmas play was cute. And I enjoyed the celebrity aspect, too.

I love a book based off a Taylor Swift song, but even as a hardcore Swiftie this felt like overkill. I love a good playlist at the beginning of a book, but having a song associated with each chapter was too much (especially when the songs didn’t even make sense a lot of the times with the chapters). The characters felt very surface-level, and I didn’t like the alternating timelines. I’m a fan of short chapters, but the chapters in this book felt way too short. The writing also read more immature, which makes sense after learning the author is 16. I think this book could be really good with some editing and skewing it more towards a younger audience.

This book could also use a TW for sexual assault. It really surprised me when it came up.

Thank you net galley and publisher for a copy of this book. I absolutely enjoyed this book! Taylor swift 🤝🏼 tis the damn season. I loved how each chapter correlated with a song (mainly Taylor’s) the chapters were short and flipped between past and present. This is a second chance romance book following Roman and Aspen, they have always loved each other but their timing was never right.

Cute, wintery romance! The dual timelines were great in showing Aspen and Roman's relationship and how it started and how it was rekindling. Tis the Damn Season is one of my favorite Taylor Swift songs and this book captured the vibes of the song so well.

When you write a book with a Taylor swift song title you’ll instantly have my liking.
This book was great, a fast book easy read that both interesting and fun with still some sadness within.
I loved the relationship between Aspen and Roman and the cute little relationship that started from high school.
I also loved the short chapters as it gripped me to the book and made me want to find out what the next song would be in the next chapter!
I did however find the present to past chapters a bit confusing but still loved the concept.

This book had no business being as cute as it was! If you’ve ever listened to ‘Tis the damn season by Taylor Swift and thought, ‘I wish there was a book about this couple’ (I mean, who hasn’t?), then you’re in luck because this book was written for you.

This book has:
•Small town/ second chance romance between two former high school sweethearts
•Famous girl x small-town boy: He’s always supported her dreams, and when she makes it big, she just can’t let him go
•She’s a famous singer, and he’s her muse 💕
•Forced proximity: The leads are co-producing the town Christmas play together 🎄

Overall, this was such a sweet read with low angst. If you’re looking for a small-town second-chance romance this holiday season, look no further!

‘Tis the Damn Season is a book different from most that I’ve read. I really enjoyed the character development of Aspen, who needed to face her fears of what others think of her. She also needed to let Roman in and allow herself to love him as much as she did. Classic second chance romance, which i’m a sucker for! I feel as though the majority of the “action” was at the end of the book and wish it had been better distributed throughout the entire book. It felt like a quick ending for that reason. I did enjoy the flashing back between time periods and getting the whole picture that way. I think the author had a great idea and will just get better in the future! 3 stars:)

Thank you NetGalley and Parson Press for this ARC.

The moment I saw the concept for this book, I knew I wanted to read it. I love Taylor Sowft, and ready something inspired by one of her songs sounded amazing!

Tis the Damn Season was light, fluffy read. I enjoyed it quite a lot. I really liked the fact that is was in a dual timeline, it gave us perspectives into Aspen and Rome's relationship, we wouldn't have otherwise seen. I do feel that the high school timeline was told at the better pace than current events which could feel a bit rushed and slightly naive but keeping in mind that the author is young this made sense.

Regardless, I read this book in a day. The overall story was fun and I really liked Aspen and Rome and experencing their love for each other. Tis the Damn Season will definitely a great read during the winter holidays!

I was so excited about this book! The cover, the title, the description are all top notch! The idea of writing books inspired by songs. Especially Taylor Swift songs, is so fun. Aspen is so relatable, despite her being famous and all, and I think she perfectly encompasses a Taylor swift esque character. Rome is so charismatic and caring; the epitome of a golden retriever man .
Unfortunately, this books was not My favorite. While I know many people are going to love it, I found the writing style to be very forced, and the plot doesn’t move as smoothly as I would like. But again, that’s just my personal opinion.

Y’all, I knew I was going to be obsessed with this book, so I tried really hard to savor it for as long as possible. But today I just couldn’t be stopped. I would take a break and just kept being drawn back in. As a huge Taylor Swift fan, I feel like this book was executed beautifully. The small town, second chance romance trope was perfect and the dual timeline was heartbreaking and gut wrenching. I am very, very satisfied with every aspect of this book. And can’t want to see what the author writes next.

While I was mildly entertained by this book, I felt as though it was missing depth. I did like the aspect about how it delves into how hard it is being a celebrity and that you can’t believe all the rumors you hear.
I guess I would say the biggest problem I had with this book was that all the characters were just… to nice. Like I’m sorry but no one forgives that easily… it just felt unrealistic.
I would give this a 2.5 if I could but I can’t give it a 3 star

When I first saw the concept for this book, I knew I wanted to read it. I am a sucker for holiday romances and a playlist themed chapter structure, so I was excited to have the chance to read this early.

This was a fun, mostly light read, that gave a unique perspective of a high school romance and how it evolved as two people were able to grow and change through experiences that a lot of people are all too familiar with. I think the dual timeline was a fantastic idea. It seemed like the high school flash backs were more thoroughly fleshed out than the current day events - the current day seemed to feel a bit rushed in comparison, so it was difficult to really connect with Aspen and Rome and their adult relationship at times. I felt that I was able to connect better with them at the beginning of their relationship, which makes sense since the author is young.

Keeping in mind that the author is young, the content did at times feel young and naïve at times, but the overall story was fun and enjoyable. I do think there could have been more "holiday" content outside of the play that they directed.

Cute little holiday romance. I enjoyed it and found myself looking forward to reading it.
I LOVE a then and now storyline, celebrity romance with a friends to lovers trope so I was here for it! It just fits in so beautifully with the song too. A true re-imagination of one of my favourite T.Swift songs.
The only thing I felt was that the conflicts were always resolved so quick that I didn’t feel the yearning and I wasn’t as invested in the characters getting back together. I think the characters just needed some fleshing out to make me root for them more. Also, maybe this is just a discovery on my part but I do clearly like the grovelling and grand gestures.
This book was a good debut! I look forward to seeing how her writing and storytelling improves :)

p.s I knew I had to read this as soon as I saw the title and the description. Then when I saw the playlist with all my favourite T.Swift songs I knew it was going to be a good book from the offset.

Thanks Netgalley for the ARC!
