Singer/writer Aspen is struggling in LA with rumors and turmoil..she thinks going home for the holidays will ease the pain that is, at times, Hollywood. At home, she also has her first (and only) true love Roman. However, when the drama of Hollywood tries to wreck their friendship and whatever relationship they have..can they survive? Will Aspen get her happily ever after outside of her career?

This book is so feel good. I flew through it because I just felt so happy while reading it. The playlist that goes along with it was paired up with every chapter, and I love when authors do that. The songs were paired up perfectly to go with what was happening in every chapter.

I fell in love with every charger (except for Cane, Sierra, and Keith, iykyk). This story talks about the ups and downs of Hollywood, family, friendship, and first loves turned into something more.
Such a great and wholesome read!

This quick and cute read serves as a good palate cleanser and throws in a bit of holiday spirit and Swiftie nods. I would say this is very much a hallmark movie in a book, which will be great for some and not so great for others. I enjoyed it but I'm not sure I would broadly recommend it. I would say anyone who love hallmark movies and quick, easy reads that do not go into much detail, this is a great read! If you're looking for a plot with depth and characters to get attached to, this might not be for you. Overall, I enjoyed it! 2.75 stars

3.5 Stars!! This book is a great one if your a fan of Taylor Swift, as I am, and an even better choice if evermore figures in your top three albums of hers. Roman Torres is definitely who each one of us needs in our lives, he is compassionate, understanding, and supportive above all, someone Pen always knew she could rely on and find when times get difficult. Aspen is soft-hearted and a kind soul for someone who got sucked into this industry. Their interactions were so cute and the nickname they made for each other made my heart grow fonder for them. I may have disliked how fast things went when they were teenagers, being a teenager myself, but it was overall a great book. For the Swifties, try to get all the references, there are so many and theyre so fun to find!!! I’m so lucky to have gotten the Arc to read it in advance, and I want to thank the author for this cute break she offered me from the world

If I could describe this book in one sentence it would be: If better than the movies by Lynn Painter meet Taylor swift and they wrote a book together!!!!

yes it was almost 5 stars but I still deserves all the praise! I describe this as Taylor swift references and quotes and song lol meets better than the movies by Lynn Painter!!! This author is 16 and wrote a whole book that let’s be honest is better than most people books!!! I love that it has a playlist and a song for every chapter! I would totally recommend this book to anyone interested in it and if the Christmas theme scares you into reading it during that season. Don’t let it because I read this in august and I think it had very minimal Christmas references as it has a dual time line!

Returning home to Pennsylvania after facing a scandal that rocks her singing career, Aspen finds herself drawn back to her high school sweetheart yet again. She left him all those years ago wanting him to pursue his dreams just as she was going to do in LA. But each time they’re together, it becomes harder and harder to not follow their hearts. Now Aspen finds herself questioning if her dreams in LA are really worth putting her dreams aside in Pennsylvania.

I’m not a Swiftie, so the inspiration of this book meant very little to me, but I enjoyed it from a purely entertainment aspect. This has Hallmark Christmas movie written all over it, and I certainly didn’t mind.

I actually had several connections to references in this book - I’m from Allentown, went to Temple University, and my dad shares a similarity with Aspen’s dad that is revealed later in the book. So it was nice to find common threads that I could relate to.

I don’t tend to like books that flop back and forth between past and present, but in this case I think it worked well. There was a sort of flow between each chapter that tied into the previous chapter, and by the end it was as though both past and present collided.

I loved Rome’s unconditional love for Aspen. He always supported her in her decisions and never judged her for the rumors that were swirling. Unfortunately, I don’t feel that Aspen reciprocated in the same way. While I know she loved him, she often made decisions for Rome without even discussing with him - she thought she knew what was best. I think she showed a level of immaturity that made me question if she was ready for a relationship altogether.

Despite my frustrations with Aspen, I thought this book was sweet and filled with love. From the constant support of Aspen’s parents to Rome’s unconditional love, it was all very endearing and heartwarming.

3.5 stars.
A cute, feel-good, Christmassy romance novel written by a Swiftie for all fellow Swifties.
Aspen is a rising actess-turned-singer who moved from her hometown in Pennsylvania to LA seven years prior to follow her dreams. And followed them she has, so much so that she is now entangled in the midst of a scandal involving her model (former) best friend and her musician boyfriend. She moves back home to find her headspace throughout the chaos, but her hometown sweetheart is there, ready to make it all the more confusing...
The references to Taylor Swift's songs and lyrics are nice easter eggs that enrichen the experience, along with the playlist at the beginning of the book and the single track listed at the top of each character.
I really liked the setting: celebrities, galas, paparazzi, the life of the rich and famous... But it seemed to me that Aspen did not like that one bit, which made me question several times throughout the book why on earth she would leave her hometown for a life that she does not really like, since not even writing her own songs and headlining her own tour makes up for it.
The writing is nice, cosy, it flows moderately, I would just suggest to work on the "showing rather than telling".

'Tis the Damn Season by Kimi Freeman

This book in 3 words: Sweet. Fun. Lovely.

DROP EVERYTHING NOW... and get this book on your TBR. If you're a Swiftie, this book is a no brainer.

You have an a-list musician, you have a Hollywood feud, you have a trip back home, and you have first-love. The characters are so remarkably sweet. I loved seeing their past and present as well as what it means for their future.

Kimi dials into the small-town romance vibe and it hits all the right notes. This book is easy to read and pulls you in from the first page.

An enjoyable read I'll definitely recommend.

I’ve never been shy about my love for the second chance romance trope. So, the premise of this book really drew me in. Based on the synopsis I had high expectations for this story. Unfortunately, it didn’t deliver.

The story is told in two timelines - the past and the present.

The individual characters were somewhat interesting, and Rome definitely stood out as a character. Aspen brought her own charm to the story. Unfortunately, the characters had more chemistry in the past than they did in the present.

The progression of their relationship in the present was very hard to follow. Even at the very end, when they finally confessed their feelings, it was very anticlimactic. This was further exacerbated by the fact that Aspen didn’t know how to stand up for herself. And this makes zero sense for someone who’s headlined sold out shows. It was unfortunate that we saw no growth from either character.

While the premise of this story is sweet and inviting, unfortunately this book just wasn’t for me.

NOTE: ARC received in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

Spice: 0
Trigger Warnings: SA, rape

This book was very surface level.

The constant flipping between the past and the current was a bit confusing. I’m someone who uses that in my own writing but there was just not enough content for either one.

Also it felt like instalove in the past.

I found it very predictable at points. I could tell where things were going before they happened.

Didn't real vibe with this book which is disappointing as a huge Taylor Swift fan. I wanted to love this book, I really did but we just didn't vibe.

You will probably like this book, however: If you're looking for a pallet cleanser, a fluffy Christmas story. It just wasn't for me.

Also didn't care for the songs as chapter titles. It added into the predictable part of the story. I had an idea of what was going to happen.
Again, at the end of the day it just wasn't for me.

Being a Swiftie as soon as I saw this title I couldn’t add it to my shelf fast enough. I loved that every chapter was based on a song that really does go perfectly with each one. For a debut novel this wasn’t bad at all especially for someone so young! I love the characters especially Aspen. She was so relatable. This was a cute quick easy read, I loved how it the issues weren’t drawn out and that you saw Aspens personal growth throughout the book. I would recommend to anyone (not just fellow swifties)!

I did not really enjoy this novel - there were no details in the characters' backstories that make the reader care about them, and the plot lines are all very 'convenient' without digging into the story. I enjoyed that this was based on a Taylor Swift song/concept, and the references were fun. I think overall readers could do much better, as dialogue was trite and no character was developed that well.

Cute, fast, clean and easy to read! Enjoyed reading about Aspen and Roman's second (or more) chance at love and Aspen's personal growth. I loved the pace of the story and how things moved along and issues weren't drawn out. Also enjoyed how you real the relationships felt throughout as well. Good read!

Nothing groundbreaking, but an enjoyable read. It was fun to spot all of the Taylor Swift lyrics sprinkled throughout the novel!

I was so excited to have the opportunity to read this. The title and cover had me thinking of your traditional holiday romance. It's not that!

We are following a duel timeline. Aspen and Roman were high school sweethearts. She because a well know actress & song writer. Our story is told in snips of them in the past, and then in the present.

I enjoyed this book. It was a quick easy read. I would say for me I didnt really connect to either character. I felt that there no real climax in which we were hoping the story would go one way or the other. It was almost like reading a diary.

Trigger warnings should be mentioned here. So check them before reading. There are sensitive subjects discussed. Even if it was not in significant details.

‘Tis the Damn Season is a fun rom-com with some serious Taylor Swift references, aka the perfect book for a Swiftie like me! Our main character, Aspen Moore, is a celebrity who has to return to her small home town after a scandal. She’s roped into spending a lot of time with her high school boyfriend, and feelings erupt. There are dual timelines, an author-curated playlist, forced proximity. No spice. A fun read!
