A great book chalk full of information on everything from animals to technology. It has a ton of information but if you're looking to get a good grasp of the world around you, this is the perfect book for you. It also has a ton of images that helps make the book a little less text heavy and shows you what that subject actually look like.

This is a great book to inspire kids to indulge in their curiosity from history to science to nature to much more it is in a small book and can definitely be considered an encyclopedia it’s best with beautiful pictures great descriptions and answers to questions even though I didn’t know I wanted to know. This is a great addition to any library for elementary or junior high schools it would also make a great gift for any curious child you know for Christmas I am so glad I requested it for my children. An eye-catching encyclopedia for kids that feels fresh. Each page has a bolded fun fact or two to go along with DK's characteristic quality photos and more in-depth information. From animals to history to machines, there is something for everyone here.

Just amazing --and I'm not even talking about the pictures!!

This is a huge, well made science reference book for kids of all ages. It’s packed with great photos and illustrations on every page, and so much information. It covers the human body, animals, plants, space, energy, dinosaurs, climate change, bacteria, you name it. This would make a great homeschooling resource for elementary through high school level. Well recommended.

First off, DK isn't kidding when they say Encyclopedia of Everything. This book is MASSIVE and packed full of a ton of interesting pages and facts. I know I can't wait to add a hard copy to our science library. I especially love how well this fits with our middle school science curriculum - it covers everything from physical to life science beautifully.

Admittedly, some of my favorite pages were in the Life section. I loved the full pages of cats, big and small. I did find it a bit weird that some pages go further into the science, but others do not when they really could. For example, on the cat pages, they talk about cat families and it really could have used another sentence to tie into classification. I found that especially disappointing since on the page next to it, it talks about retractable claws - Cheetahs do not have retractable claws, but are still part of the cat family. This would have been a nice learning section for students and family vs genus vs species.

While I love this for all the science sections, this really covers a lot more including languages, sports, and even history.

This truly is a book of everything, combining the great visuals I expect from Eyewitness books with more facts, features, and lists. Great for the generation who love the factoid books like National Geographic Weird but True, and the parent who wants a bit more substance.

I liked the ‘ask a’ feature, which is a small Q and A from an expert in their field. The questions seem like ones kids would ask. I loved the ‘name that’ feature that are two-page spreads of images of things or animals with a list of what they are on the side. It is easily gamified: as a search and find or memory game.

My only complaint is the technology section and social media facts. I find those parts of books never age well in my experience, and wish they would focus more on the history of computers and the internet rather that how quickly Twitter was adopted compared to Instagram.

I would suggest this for anyone who wants a physical book that is a little of everything from history to science to technology to culture. This book is the embodiment of the Adventure Time quote: I have approximate knowledge of many things.

My 7 year old granddaughter and 11 year old grandson have been fighting over my IPad to see the brilliant photos and information on everything you can possibly think of in the Eyewitness Encyclopedia of Everything by DK; Fran Baines.
My grandson is fascinated with space, history and science; while my granddaughter loves the science, life and human body sections. My granddaughter doesn’t understand everything, but is fascinated just the same because of the brilliant photos that catch her attention and has her asking us questions.
There’s just so much to explore and an IPad screen does not do this book of wonders justice.
I think this book should be on every 5th grader’s Christmas gift list. My grandson has already asked for one.

There is something delightfully nostalgic about this encyclopedia. The publisher has taken the Eyewitness books that I enjoyed as a child (80’s baby) and combined them all together into a comprehensive, updated volume.

The Eyewitness Encyclopedia of Everything is divided into seven main sections with each section being broken down into a variety of corresponding topics. The book is full of beautiful illustrations and eye-catching photographs. The glossary covers hundreds of terms and the index makes finding a particular subject very easy.

The Eyewitness Encyclopedia of Everything is suitable for all ages. It's perfect for for all of those wild, just before bedtime, questions children always think up. It would also be a great addition to any elementary classroom or homeschool library.

Wow wow wow!!! I absolutely love these picture encyclopedias for my kids and thus one doesn't disappoint. Lots of full color images, graphs, diagrams and easy to understand text on this fabulous edition. Now I gotta buy a hard copy for my homeschool library 😜📖

I used to love these kinds of books when I was a kid and I'm so excited to have this to share with my own child (I received this as an e-book but will definitely be buying a hardcopy as well)! This is such a great way to get kids interested in all kinds of subjects - space, dinosaurs, insects, marine life, the human body, ancient history, and zoology to name just a few. What I appreciated most about this book was that it does not offer the highly revisionist history being pushed by some in the US right now. It may not go into a lot of detail on the topics but it does offer the truth about them. The graphics throughout the book are perfect - they are both informative and eye-catching. I really enjoyed the matching activities at the end of some sections - it really helped to sum up some of what had been discussed in that chapter and was a lot of fun. My only complaint has to do with the section on snakes - I really could have done without the pictures of snakes eating other animals. Other than that, this was a perfect book. I highly recommend this to all elementary school libraries as well as to anyone with young learners!

My tween reader loves non-fiction texts -- our home is full of them! She recently asked me for MORE encyclopedias, so she was really excited to pore over the Encyclopedia of Everything from D.K. Publishing. Before she started, she asked me, "Do you think this is stuff I already know?" And then, on the very first page she flipped to, she went, "Huh -- I didn't know THAT!" ;)

We'll definitely be getting the hardback version of this one when it comes to print.

This is a beautifully designed book that answers a lot of questions a child might have. I will definitely be buying it for my library as well as maybe even a copy for myself because it describes some things so well.

-Easy to read and mentally digest information
-Super fun ‘Name that ___” sections!

Only suggestions:
-The cover and the section break pages definitely don’t do the book justice. It looks more like a cut and paste clip art/google images page than something new and enticing (which is how the book reads, enticing!)

Eyewitness books are easily my favorite children’s encyclopedia style books, and this one was extra fun to read through! Wonderful images, interesting stories, and if you don’t learn at least one thing after reading each section I would be amazed. I’ll be purchasing my own copy of this asap!
