Bean The Stretchy Dragon by Ari Stocrate - 5/5
Children's Fiction
First off, the cover of this book is amazing. It pops and catches your attention immediately and is so cute. I love all of the illustrations and fun colors, they make reading fun and easy when you are trying to entertain and teach children to love books. The Author added in some pages of comic book-style illustrations, adds a few fun transitions. This book follows along in the life of Bean, a Dragon, who lives in the forest with Sally, a Witch.
Thank you, NetGalley and Andrews McMeet Publishing for the eARC.
When I saw this book I knew I had to read it, because the nickname my friends from university gave me is no other than 'bean'. So this was a cute surprise haha. It's a really cute book, the story is nice and the illustration are beautiful! I hope the author publishes more books about bean, I would love t read them. Rating: 4/5 stars.
Such a sweet little graphic novel with beautiful illustrations. I really enjoyed it, just wish there was more to Bean's adventure.
I received this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
This adorable and fun book will bring a smile to your face as you join Bean, the friendly dragon on his magical adventure full of stretchy surprises.
Bean the Stretchy Dragon has become an instant favorite in our house! Bean reminded us so much of our own little dog that my kids have now started calling her Bean.
We really enjoyed the artwork in this book and the little descriptions of all the creatures that Bean met on her journey were great to see.
Adding this one to our stack of rereads for sure. Everything about Bean and her day is absolutely adorable!!
THIS WAS ADORABLE! I loved Bean! I can't wait to see what else this author creates. It was truly so cute!
This was so cute!! I want to have my very own Bean!! I’d love to see more Bean and Sally adventures, and I hope to be able to recommend this at my library! So so adorable!
This was a cute story that will appeal to children but I found it too simplistic even for reading to a child. There was a lack of any kind of depth to the story and I wish it had had a little more of a narrative. I also did not feel the illustrations looked refined or professionally done. All together this seemed like more of a webcomic passion project than an actual children’s picture book or graphic novel. This is fine if offered for free but I would not be inclined to spend any money on it or recommend to others that they purchase it.
Simple, sweet, and funny, Bean the Stretchy Dragon is a joy to read. Follow this silly little dragon through a day of exploring the world and meeting new strange creatures along the way. I’d recommend this little book to anyone who needs a pick-me-up during the day.
Okay, this was adorable. I loved the creature descriptions and Bean and Sally's relationship was really sweet. I love dragons so picking this up was a no-brainer for me. The art is very fun, and Bean herself is hilarious. I think it's a great graphic novel for all ages but would be especially fun to read with younger kids. 4 stars!
Thanks to Andrews McMeel Publishing and NetGalley for this e-ARC!

Bean is a creature of habit. She wakes up at the same time every day, has a stretch, opens the bedroom curtains and falls down the stairs. She sharpens her claws, has a good grooming session then hits breakfast - you guessed it! Beans!
Bean is a tiny dragon living with a young witch in a forest swamp. She has large eyes, a long stretchy body and her even longer tail has a heart shape on the very tip. This is a good sign to all that Bean is a friendly dragon - not the feisty fire breathing sort.
Living in the swamp is interesting every day. The forest even more so. Amazing creatures live inside. Some are nice to eat, and some will eat you! There are Jackalope - part jack rabbit, part antelope. There are mean fairies, hobgoblins and furry trout. There is even a dragon that will poop out three of whatever it eats. This makes it much sought after by those wanting to get rich quick.
Bean loves living with Sally who makes him tasty soups and is always there when she needs her - like when facing scary swamp monsters, or just getting tangled up in her own tail. Every day is a good day in this magical forest swamp.
A day in the life of a small stretchy dragon, illustrated in muted colors capturing Bean's daily capers.
Bean encounters many strange creatures during her trip into the swamp, and each one has its own page including description, habits and strange quirks.
There's a nod to climate change and loss of habitat as even these magical creatures struggle to find homes or remain hidden.
A fun junior graphic novel for 5+
This is a cute book which I would recommend to dragon lovers, but it really isn't anything more than that. I can definitely see certain students finding it entertaining.
This was super cute! The illustrations are adorable and Bean will probably remind a lot of readers of their pet cats. It was a little long for a picture book but I feel like because the plot is very basic (barely any if I’m being honest) it’ll be an easy read for younger kids because their attention span doesn’t have to be tested as much. I really liked the encyclopedia entries for each of the different creatures we met along the way. I could easily picture Bean being a family favorite with several books about her and her friends.
I love the online comic of Sally and Bean and was excited to read this. It did not disappoint. It is a pretty adorable book and I think it could be a fun read for the family.
Bean is a cute stretchy dragon. He acts sort of like a cat and he has a heart at the end of his tail. I read this story with my little one and we loved it! Cute characters!!!!
This is legitimately the cutest book I have ever read. I love Bean so much and would gladly read 20 books in a row about her stretchy dragon shenanigans. This book is just the right amount of sweetness, silliness, and whimsy. I absolutely recommend it for every age. I'm 33 and I still plan on recommending it to my friends and family!

Bean may be a dragon, but she's a stretchy dragon. She loves playing with yarn, eating her daily amount of canned beans, and visiting the other swamp creatures on a daily basis. With her owner, Sally, the resident swamp witch, Bean goes on many adventures...all in a day's time. By the end of the day, she curls up in a ball and sleeps the night away.
Why is this so cute!? I had so much fun reading this quick picture book. Youngsters will enjoy the daily life of a rambunctious dragon who's amused by anything. (It kind of reminds me of my cats). Bean wakes up and plays all day and then later hangs out with Sally. This was just too adorable; I loved it!
Bean is such an adorable little stretchy dragon, I love her little heart tail. The illustrations were so cute and I especially loved the pages describing each fun animal. There wasn’t much plot, but I think it was a fun and engaging read, and my kids would love more books about Sally and Bean’s adventures.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!!
This is one of those books where I know that as soon as I buy it, it’ll become a family favorite. Cute, funny, engaging, and educational (who knew there was a fur trout 😆) I would absolutely purchase this for friends of mine and their kids. Adorable Bean and all the Cryptid/Folklore friends are adorable and fun to learn about. I loved all the little details (especially the old iPod hah!!) and had a great time reading this.
As a fan of Sally & Bean I loved getting to see what Bean does on a regular day. This was extremely cute and made me love Bean even more. Also I loved getting to see more about where Sally & Bean live and what creatures are in this world.
