Cute, wholesome little animal friendship comics. This is a cozy wholesome story, like Cats Cafe or Milk & Mocha or Unfamiliar. The movie night part was my favorite of the whole book.

Mostly silly and fluffy with some amusing moments mostly surrounding food. THere is some simple messaging about friendships and judging on first impressions. It's cute enough to be worth reading.

Special thanks to NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for sharing this ARC with me in exchange for my honest review.

It is unlikely that I am the primary target audience for this novel (though Goodreads says it's great for graphic novel enthusiasts), but I think there are a lot of adults who could do with more fairytales and other stories originally intended for children. The world is not always a very bright place and sometimes a sweet story about adorable animal friends is exactly what we need.

The style is simple, yet all the characters have their own unique features, colors and personalities. Although the story is not too elaborate, it does what it sets out to do; show that friendship is possible despite differences and that it's important to be (true to) yourself.

+ It has a dyslexia-friendly font, which I think is very important.

A sweet story that everyone who has trouble making friends can identify with. I read it got all the feels and immediately handed it to my tween so she could see it's something everyone struggles with.

Sometimes, I need a break from all the heavy and strange fiction that I usually read. On some days, I'd pick up a cute rom-com novel. On other days, I'd pick up healing and wholesome stories. Today, I decided to finally read Pocket Peaches by Dora Wang that I've been meaning to read for months 😆 It was exactly I expected: a cute graphic novel that centers cute animal characters trying to build friendships with each other. In this graphic novel, an adorable bunny named Peaches tries to befriend a mysterious new resident of Pocketon (the setting of this novel), a cat named Taro. This book reminds me of Bee and Puppycat and Adventure Time, what with the very soft and cartoonish art that makes the graphic novel such an enjoyable read. It's a fairly simple novel with a simple, predictable plot, but it caught my heart nevertheless.

A great graphic novel for readers who love animals. The pictures are cute and the story is fun. Kids will love this book!

It's an adorable comic book, which is primarily aimed at the younger age group, but as an adult I was still melted by the cuteness of the huge-eyed animals, and the colouring of the comic is eye-catching. The story is set in a kitten town, where a newcomer, Taro, arrives. Our protagonist wants to be friends, but Taro seems antisocial at first glance, but then the films bring them closer together. At one point, I thought I had figured out the twist, but the author had built in a completely different plot-line, so I was happy with that surprise. Also, I was happy with all the little things, like teaching me how to make cupcakes with the correct decorating proportions. There is plenty of potential in the world, so I would love to read more about them. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a cozy comic.

I really enjoyed the character designs and the detail with which each one was uniquely drawn. I definitely recommend this sweet graphic novel for kids of all ages.

Me and my children enjoyed this story with all the characters within. It's about Peaches and a new friend that come to town. There is a new mystery cat in town and Peaches want to meet her. So that they can be friends.

This story had action and adventure throughout. It had giggles within. The illustrations were colorful and went well with the story.

I received a complimentary copy via Netgalley. This is my honest unbiased opinions.

This is a sweet story and the illustrations are darling but we just weren't finding ourselves that engaged by the storyline. Simple sentences and the gentle story make it a good very early reader.

I am not sure how I feel about this book, which usually means I am not the intended audience. I thought the art was really cute and I think my students would enjoy it.

I randomly picked up Pocket Peaches after reading a review for it. I thought it looked so cute. It's a fun and easy read. This book is children's fiction but I can see adults enjoying it as well. The story is about making friends and it's just such a cute read. I loved the style of art so much. That's the main reason I ended up picking it up. I would love to check out more books from this artist in the future.

This short little graphic novel is so incredibly cute and wholesome: the perfect low-stakes, cozy read for a fall evening.

The story follows Peaches the bunny when a new cat comes to Pocketown. The cat is rumored to be standoffish and hard to get to know, so of course Peaches decides to do everything she can to befriend her. The story is very simple, and well suited to a young audience, but I still enjoyed it as an adult.

The best comparison I can think to make for this title is to Bluey. Pocket Peaches has the same sweet—but not saccharine—tone and emphasis on communication and emotional intelligence. Also, it’s in full color!

Thanks to Netgalley for providing an ARC.

I don’t really read many graphic novels but when I saw this one, I simply couldn’t resist.

Peaches is a sweet little rabbit who has plenty of friends but feels bad for the new kid (cat) in town.

This is a compassionate lesson for children. Though someone may be different than you, it’s okay to be different after all that’s what makes us interesting and teaches others to find a common interest with you.

Peaches sees the cat as different but yet tries so hard to be friends with her through a shared interest but almost messes things up royally. The cat though seeming at first to be indifferent to Peach’s friendship attempts is impressed because no one has ever made such an effort to be her friend.

The book shows you don’t have to pretend to be a certain way just to impress someone, just be yourself and friendships will come naturally.

Of course, like in the story it doesn’t hurt to have frosted cupcakes and popcorn on hand while making these friendships.

Very sweet drawings in soothing colors are perfect for helping little ones relax before bedtime.

In Pocket Peaches we follow some really cute animal friends! One of them is a bunny who tries to make a new friend but ends up almost messing things up.

The art isn’t something special, just simple and cute. The story is nice but the scenes sometimes felt a little disconnected.

I honestly expected a bit more from the story when I started reading. It felt like a beginner level graphic novel that could use some work to make it better. I enjoyed it and I’m thankful I got this ARC from NetGalley, in exchange for my honest review.

Peaches is a sweet little bunny rabbit who wants to befriend the new kid in town, quiet, mysterious Taro. But the things Taro likes don't seem to be things that Peaches and her friends would have fun with - is this friendship mission ultimately doomed to fail?

Yes I know it's a kids book. No I will not change my opinion that this is one of the best ARCs I've seen on NetGalley. Peaches and her friends are just so soft and cute and I love the lesson of not judging someone by who they seem to be. The combination of cute and fuzzy animals and an important teachable lesson makes this a fine read for all ages. I also personally love how the magical cat the cuties are stanning is basically cat sailor moon🤣

The cover for debut author, Dora Wang‘s graphic novel Pocket Peaches immediately caught my eye on NetGalley because HOW CUTE IS THIS?! 🥹 Based on her Instagram comics of the same, Pocket Peaches: A Graphic Novel follows best friends Peaches, Mango, and Pogi who all live in a cozy town called Pocketon. When a mysterious new cat, Taro, moves into the neighbourhood, Peaches makes it her mission to be her friend. The only problem is that Taro is into all things creepy and spooky while Peaches isn’t.

This full colour graphic novel was such an enjoyable read. Not only did I enjoy the storyline, I thoroughly enjoyed the cute and colourful Kawaii-style illustrations that accompanied it. (I went through an extreme Pocket Peaches deep dive on Instagram because I loved the illustrations so much 🥹🫶.)

Even though it was a shorter read than most, I got to learn a lot about Peaches and the Pocketon crew that made me want to be part of their circle of friends. The storyline sent a strong message about friendships and kindness, and more specifically: on staying true to yourself and making friends with others.

I found the storyline and the themes of friendship and kindness appropriate for who the graphic novel’s intended audience is for, but could most definitely be enjoyed by middle-graders/tweens and adults. The Kawaii-style illustrations are fun and engaging and fully complements the overall vibe of the book and the Pocketon characters.

Overall, I’d recommend this if you’re looking for an engaging children’s fiction graphic novel that discusses friendship and kindness and is accompanied by full-colour illustrations.
