This was a really cute read! My kids like all the graphics. Will definitely check out more from the author
Thank you
Honesty, this was just so stinkin' cute. A great read for warm and cozy vibes. I loved the story about trying to make new friends. Early graphic novel readers will likely love this adorable graphic novel.
My 8 year old daughter loved this and said it was very cute! She is a very opinionated reader, and felt this was an easy and fun read for her.
My daughter loved this graphic novel. She is super into these characters, and she squealed when I showed her that I got an early release copy. She instantly stole my tablet and read it all in one setting.
Thank you for providing me the opportunity to review "Pocket Peaches" by Dora Wang prior to publication. I am appreciative and leave my sincerity review voluntarily.
This graphic novel gave me all the pastel animal crossing vibes. It is just SO cute! I love the friendship journey, fandom love, and cute cafe moments. Perfect for a quick cozy read on a comfy couch! Thanks to NetGalley for making this book available for an honest review.
Pocket Peaches is a very cute graphic novel about making new friends, and being yourself, not who you think your friends want you to be.
Wow, this was super cute! I enjoyed this short graphic novel with cute animals making friends. I like that the main character made a mistake while trying to make a new friend, but then was honest and everything worked out well.
This was a lovely, super cute book with an excellent underlying message. These little fluffy animals were so adorable and lovely, and they go to great lengths to understand and befriend a new cat in town. After some mix-ups and misrepresentations, the animals come clean about their truths and realize they have a lot more in common than they initially thought. This is so lovely and adorable (the reoccurring conversation about frosting to cupcake ratio is a delight) that it will engage young readers for years to come.
The art was what initially drew me into the book but I ended up enjoying the story as well. I loved all the characters, and found them to be quite endearing. I’d definitely recommend this book to a younger audience, but hey, as an adult, I enjoyed it too!
Pocket Peaches by Dora Wang is adorable and lighthearted! I thought that the illustrations were well done and the characters were cute. I loved the range of facial expressions and they were easy to read and follow. The text bubbles and illustration blocks were also very intuitive. I think that the overall message was great and kids will easily understand it.
I only wish that some elements had been slightly expanded on. Some moments seemed like they foreshadowed something, or would be relevant later…but then weren’t. While these moments were cute and added to the lighthearted feeling, I think expanding on some of these or adding them to the plot would have been cool. Really, I just wanted a bit more time with the characters!
This graphic novel is a wholesome tale about friendship and the importance of being yourself. Pocket Peaches by Dora Wang is a cozy graphic novel for young readers set in the town of Pocketon, where Peaches sets out to befriend the new cat in Town, Taro. After Taro leaves her book behind at book club, Peaches takes the opportunity to return the book as a way to befriend the mysterious new neighbor. The art style is adorable, and the story made me smile. I found Peaches' friend group silly and fun, but I loved the underlying message that your friends can have different interests and still be your friends! I think young readers will love the animal characters, art style, and sweet message.
I received this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
"Pocket Peaches" is a delightful children's graphic novel that invites you into a world of warmth and giggles. Follow Peaches as she discovers a new friend, the mysterious cat Taro, in her neighborhood. The pages come alive with adorable illustrations and heart warming moments.
It seemed like a very cute title. I was originally drawn in with the cover, and the artstyle was also adorable. I thought the story was wholesome, and the message clear: we tend to try and overreach in order to bond with new friends. I really liked it. I think my only issue is the scenes felt a little disconnected, and that felt a bit jarring.
So adorable! I love Peaches and her want to make a friend. Taro was so great, and I was so happy to see the ending. The art style was also fantastic and cute! I would love to live in this cute village! A well deserved five stars!
This is such a cute and cheerful read, exactly what i needed when feeling down. I adored Peaches and Taro.
The illustrations are simple but colourful, and I thought the stories were sweet.
Thank you to Netgalley for the ARC of this book. These are my honest thoughts.
Pocket Peaches is an amazing graphic novel for kids. The graphics are amazing and the story is really creative. what sets this book apart from the other graphic novels for kids that I've read is that it sets the reality that friendship isn't easily earned like what most stories would try to portray. It's also amazing how Dora Wang was able to express in her book how certain individuals may have different interests and still create an amazing friendship due to a common denominator.
The characters are very interesting, the illustrations are colorful, and the storyline is clear and captivating for young readers. I only noticed that there could've been more to the story on how Peaches' friends tried to accept Taro. The length of this book fits its readers and the book is edited flawlessly. Pocket Peaches is a graphic novel that fits perfectly into the childrens' book category/genre.
I give this book 4 out of 5 stars. Amazing graphics, wonderful storytelling and interesting characters.
The art style of the book is rather charming. Additionally, the story presents a pleasant simplicity that suits it well. The book's theme, which explores friendship, boundaries, and the acceptance of differing interests, is quite commendable.
To be completely honesty, I handed this one to my overly critical 11-year-old girl. Congratulations! She loved it! She found the art super cute and there were several parts that made her laugh. If you can get my child to crack a smile, then you did well.
*Thank you so much to NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for an ARC of Pocket Peaches by Dora Wang*
This is a super cute read. The drawing style is right up my alley and the character names are the cutest. Such a lovely story about how simple yet important friendship can be! I will definitely be picking this up and reading it with my little cousin when it comes out!
