The authors skillfully blend their unique voices to create a compelling narrative that keeps readers hooked. The characters are flawed, complex, and utterly fascinating. The plot twists and turns, and the suspense builds steadily, culminating in a thrilling climax.

This was pretty entertaining, but the plot was lacking for me. I think the authors wrote the different characters well and the narrators did a great job portraying them.

Thank you so much to Sourcebooks Landmark and NetGalley for an ARC of this novel!

After a plane crashed down that was transporting four lawyers in the same firm, their significant others were left widowed and instead of an inheritance, they were being chased down by the mob to pay a debt. Repaying the mob boss could cost them their lives.

This book was so bingeable! Justine, Meredith, Camille, and Krystle were all such interesting characters and I enjoyed reading from each of their points of view. The storyline was so over the top that it was fun and I enjoyed the chase of the widows trying to track down who was after their significant others after the plane crash- therefore putting their own lives in danger. Some of the behavior was so catty that it was almost lighthearted to read, and then you get to the next page and someone gets shot in the throat. 😳 I most definitely laughed out loud at times throughout the book, especially at the mention of a “champagne facial” when the widows were fighting. I loved all of the 80’s references, especially song choices mentioned, and the strong family ties throughout the book. There was so much hatred between some of the widows through so much of the book that it was a relief to the reader whenever you felt a little bit of resolution between them. I did not anticipate the way that the story was going and I was very surprised at the twist at the end.

on the way to a party four partners of a law firm get into a suspicious plane crash.
one woman and the rest of the guys leave spouses behind to grapple with the loss, Insurance company being apprehensive to pay out life insurance until it all ruled out of suspicion and declared as an accident. meanwhile, the widows have to start looking with some mystery thing that their spouses left behind that's crucial for some mafia men, and the guy who was the hush hush investor of a mall building project is breathing down their necks as well.
sadly non of the POVs won me over and I didn't root for anyone in the picture. that's why I rated it 3 stars, but I recommend it for fans a Sidney Sheldon.

"Younger Rich Widows" is a collaborative project by Vanessa Lillie, Layne Fargo, Cate Holahan, and Kimberly Belle. The narrative unfolds from four different perspectives, with each author likely contributing to one character’s point of view.

The premise is intriguing: four lawyers perish in a plane crash, and the mob is on the hunt for their missing millions, willing to kill to reclaim their money. Despite their negative feelings towards one another, the widows must unite to uncover the truth behind their partners' deaths and locate the missing funds.

Overall, I found this book to be average. It had some entertainment value, with a twist I didn't see coming, but it didn't really engage me emotionally. I felt a bit bored, yet it was not the most disappointing book I've read. It was simply okay.

Thank you to NetGalley and SOURCEBOOKS Landmark for providing me with an ARC of this novel for review consideration. All opinions are my own.

Real fun! This is a fast read where 4 widows (OK, 3 widows and one partner) of 4 lawyers need to use their strengths together to get off the dark influence as they realize that their dead husbands left them more than just tears and misery after their unexpected plane crash death. They need to fight together to escape the complicated situation - and I would not underestimate these ladies! They may come from different backgrounds, might have different issues and might have serious opinions about each other and conflicts with each other, but when they fight together, they are unstoppable.
Infused with a big dose of dark humour, sexy and edgy, this was a really fun reading ride and I will gladly follow these feisty ladies into their next adventures!

Thanks to NetGalley and SOURCEBOOKS Landmark for a copy of Young Rich Widows in exchange for my honest review.

The storyline wasn't bad, but I kept craving more detail. Moved along slowly in parts. One part I just didn't understand how it happened unless I missed something.

Overall, it's an ok story but not a favorite.

Thank you so much for this title! A dramatic ride with interesting characters.

I actually listened to the audio and highly recommend reading it that way to fully understand each wife. Each character is unique and fully developed, likely due to having different writers for each wife. Each has a great contribution to the story with a mystery to unfold.

This is book is Goodfellas from the wive's perspective. It was fun watching as they went from frenemies to allies to friends. You can practically smell the hairspray and feel the fur coats as you are reading!

The premise was so intriguing, but in the end the book wasn't all that special. The positive for me was that there was nothing very violent or bloody, I tend to be quite sensitive so I like a non-gory mystery. I also liked the 80s setting. Beyond that, I was not very invested in the characters and while I normally love multiple POVs, this time it didn't work that great for me. It was just a little too over the top, too campy, and too predictable. I'm all for girl power but I guess I enjoy it with a little more subtlety. It was an ok read, but unfortunately that's it for me.

"Young Rich Widows" is a collab effort from Vanessa Lillie, Layne Fargo, Cate Holahan, and Kimberly Belle. The story is from four different POVs and you can definitely take the educated guess that each author wrote from one of the characters' POVs.

Now, the premise was entertaining. Four lawyers die in a plane crash. Now the mob is after missing millions and are willing to kill to get what's theirs. The widows, despite ill-will feelings towards, each other, must stick together to find the money and figure out what happened to their significant others.

This book was fine? Just fine. Nothing exciting. A little twist that I really didn't see coming but didn't have any stake in. I am indifferent towards this one, I suppose. I was lightweight bored but also, it wasn't the worst book I've ever read. It was just fine.

This one came out April 2 so if you're into mysteries with next to no gore or triggers, this one's for you. Mystery "lite", if you will.

Ich weiß ehrlich gesagt nicht, wie ich dieses Buch bewerten soll, da ich es aufgrund relativ kurzer Ausleihdauer (ohne Verlängerung) nicht lesen konnte.

This was an ARC from NetGalley. I normally love Kimberly Belle's book so I was excited for this one. While it wasn't quite up my alley it was still a pretty good read.

I read this quickly. It had just the right amount of character building and intrigue. Loved that you could actually feel that you were back in the 80's!

Four partners from a law firm are tragically killed in a plane crash days before Christmas, and their widows are left to pick up the pieces - in more ways than one. As soon as the news breaks about the crash, the four women - Krystal, Camille, Justine and Meredith - assume that there will be decisions to be made. What they don’t realize is how deeply involved their spouses were with some very bad people - people they now owe millions of dollars to, and on a deadline. They’ve got to put their differences aside, work together and find out what the heck these partners were up to and how to make things right for themselves.

This was a really fun read. I loved the 80s setting, the mafia vibes, and the feminine rage. It was pretty kick ass! The story alternated between the POV of all four widows and while each loved their spouse, they found out disturbing information along the way. I love that they all teamed up together to seek justice, despite their differences and in some cases outright hatred for one another. Thank you to the publisher for my e-arc!

1980s mafia story with all the right pieces: wealthy entitlement, rags-to-riches Cinderella girls, high stakes gambling, cat fights, and shaky alliances.

When the plane explodes killing all the firm's law partners, the wives (who can barely stand one another) are left with the shock of dealing with the dark secrets that have been threatening the future of the firm and the partner's wealth and livelihood. As the women uncover one betrayal after another, they realize they have no choice but to work together to not only move on their lives, but to actually survive.

Good book about women who are stronger and smarter than men think. Also a good recommendation for those who like mafia-themed reads or who want to take a trip back to the 80s for a bit. It was a bit difficult to get the characters straight in my head in the beginning; it was almost like there wasn't a distinct enough 'voice' with each of the four main characters. It is also interesting this is marketed as book 1, but I didn't really feel like there was a big enough cliff hanger at the end to make me even really consider the possibility of this being a series. I loved the 80s nostalgia!

SO MUCH 80’S FUN!! I lol’d more than once and was also intrigued by the story. The characters are snarky, and I loved how they progressed from enemies to friends, given the predicament they were in. Each of the four authors wrote one of the main characters, and they blended meticulously. I cannot WAIT to read the next book in the series.

The 80's are alive again! What is better than 1 thriller writer? 4 thriller writers! This collaboration is amazing and I hope to see more works in the future.
