Wow! These women are so fun to read about. I love how the different writing styles of the 4 authors comes through in the different chapters. I can't wait to read more widow books.

What a fun story! It took me a few chapters to get my characters straight but I loved that the story was told from four different character perspectives. This was an easy read which was perfect over Christmas break. If you are looking for an intricate thriller, this is not the book for you. If you are looking for a fun, easy read then you should pick this book up!

A plane crash leaves behind four widows. They had no idea what was really going on with the law firm where their partners worked but they are about to find out and fast. What follows involves the mob, missing money, and a report that is so important that someone is willing to kill. The four widows work together to figure out what is going on. Will they figure it out in time?

I loved this book so much! The widows, the multiple POVs, the twist, it was all perfect! Those partners all got what they had coming! It was amazing!

This was an enjoyable read. When a plane crash takes the lives of 4 law firm partners, their widows have to band together to figure out what was going on in the law firm. The 4 of them come together and end up deciphering all the clues and turning the problem into a solution by the end. This was hilarious in parts, and kept me guessing as to how it was all going to come together. Thanks for the ARC.

Marvelous! Fabulous! Iconic! A total joy! I leapt upon this as Layne Fargo's They Never Learn was one of my favorite books of 2020, and now I'm excited to have three more new-to-me authors to check out. Set vividly in the midst of 1980s excess, this caper brings together four complicated women in a plot that brings to mind Ocean's 8, Erin Brokovich, Hustlers, the 80s TV series Dynasty, and unsurprisingly the 2018 film Widows which I totally went to see in theaters because it was co-written by Gillian Flynn. I was unsurprised to find that my favorite character Meredith, a smart as hell bisexual stripper, was Fargo's work, though I grew helplessly fond too of Krystle, whose mob-adjacent upbringing has chased her to the present, Camille and Justine, whose scenes together had me on the edge of my seat for reasons I'll go into in my Goodreads review where I can spoiler tag it, and hot strip club bartender Frankie, about whom I could totally read an entire book to be honest with you.

The fact that this book is apparently the beginning of a series (Desperate Deadly Widows coming 20?!) thrills me to absolute death. I'm seated, I'm ready for it, I'll devour it, I'll inject it, I'll slide copies under Netflix's door with a note suggesting six seasons and/or several movies. Let's gooooo!

My thanks to Sourcebooks Landmark and NetGalley for the ARC.

A phenomenal women-led thriller that’ll lead you to break out all of that 80’s gear you have packed up in boxes somewhere in your house, or found in the deep sea of forgotten items at the thrift shop.

When four ladies suddenly become widows after a plane accident, they’re left with the pieces to pick up. Well. Not only pick them up, but also figure out what happened precisely and how.

All four of the main characters are starkly different and come from different facets of life. Leading to different views. With the mob on their tail they do need to move quickly. After all, they have their now ex-husbands messes to clean up.

This book was a hoot and had me laughing amongst all the twists and turns we love in thrillers. The powerhouse of authors really allowed this novel to shine bright here. This was such a guilty pleasure as well as a little soapy in nature that simply meshes with the setting.

Thank you to Sourcebooks Landmark, Vanessa Lillie, Layne Fargo, Cate Holahan, Kimberly Belle and Netgalley for the eARC!

A thriller that can make you LOL at the same time? Sign me up! When a jet carrying four partners of a law firm crashes, it kills all of the husbands of four wives: Camille, Meredith, Krystle and Justine to cope with the aftermath. They are determined to find out the truth of what happened. I loved the setting of this book- mega 80s vibes and all four widows are so different and funny. I really enjoyed this book, lots of secrets, twists and turns. 4 stars!

On the night of a Providence law firm’s annual holiday party, four very different woman lose their life partners when their private jet crashes outside of New York City. Krystle is the wife of one of the founding partners and is dedicated to the success of the law firm that she helped build and that her son now works for. Camille is a partner’s second wife and step mother to the daughter from his first marriage and is learning as she goes. Justine is a former fashion model who sometimes wonders how she ended up in Providence but who loves and is dedicated to her young son and giving him an idyllic childhood. Meredith is a stripper who is in a long-term relationship with the firm’s only female partner and has been trying to be more involved in her partner’s life. When it comes to light that the partners were working on closing a very large and lucrative deal, the widows are forced to join together to find answers. With the mob and other questionable characters on their tails, the race is on!

This was a wild ride! It is a lighter read with lots of laughs and great character development. The story is told in alternating perspectives of Justine, Camille, Meredith, and Krystle which allows you to get to know each of them. I honestly can’t decide who my favorite is! Each of the women have so many wonderful and compelling things about them. This book keeps you on your toes and surprised me quite a few times. I will definitely read the sequel when/if one is written :)

Thank you to Sourcebooks Landmark and NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This book is everything! It’s fun, bitchy, twisty, and so, so entertaining. Did I mention the mob is involved?

I laughed out loud several times, and the ending actually made me gasp. The eclectic cast made it such an enjoyable read.

And what an absolute *powerhouse* of badass women that wrote it! Highly, highly recommend.

Who do I have to beg to get this as a limited series or movie? PLEASE!

The opening of this book was so tense as four partners in a law firm are on a plane that's malfunctioning and is seconds away from crashing. While the crash is initially written off as nothing more than a tragic accident, something's not adding up. This law firm, unbeknownst to the wives, is affiliated with the mafia. If that wasn't bad enough, the firm owes four million dollars. Now that they're all dead, it's on the wives to pay up.

With shades of Jackie Collins and her Lucky Santangelo series, this was a fun tale of debauchery and excess set in the 1980s, the very decade of excess. There were serious moments, moment of dark humor, and scenes so wild you could picture them as a movie. Each widow had her own defined personality, and you will root for some and hate some, but no doubt about it, you will be entertained! Thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks for the early copy. This book will publish April 2, 2024.

This is a fun, little soap opera-type mystery perfect to whisk you away from reality. I consider this a little bit of a "guilty pleasure" and a "soapy" style novel. Written by FOUR popular authors together, it was fun, if not predictable, to read about the 80's and four sudden widows who find themselves in a unique problem when their significant others (all partners in a successful law firm) are suddenly killed aboard a plane crash.
Their wives/partners are all very different and dramatic with clear, well written character development. They end up not "rich" in fact but in "debt" to the Italian mafia when their partners' pass away. They must work together and accept each other to get out of the pickle their lovers have left for them in their deaths.
Fun, quick and a little silly. 3 stars.

I wanted to like this, as I loved Layne Fargo's "They Never Learn," but I could tell after the first chapter this wasn't going to be for me. The reviews also reflected my feelings on this, so I didn't want to read it knowing I was probably not going to like it and rate it at two stars or lower.

This book is a fun read. It would be great for a vacation read or something on a plane (there is a little dark humor and irony in that as part of the plot involves a plane crash). I enjoyed this book. The plot holes and some of the situations were highly unprobable but not everything needs to be serious all the time. If you are looking for something entertaining this book fits the bill. Thank you to Sourcebooks Landmark and Netgalley for allowing me to read this ARC.

I wanted to love this book by four incredibly talented authors but had to DNF at just under 60%. A story about the widows of four law partners who die in a crash, this got complicated quickly with all the mob connections and who-owes-who, The book was told from the alternating perspectives of each of the women which was fun, but the writing wasn’t particularly unique between them which took away some of the personality I’d been anticipating.

Intimately I DNFed during a scene that droned on for a long time; it became unclear to me whether the remainder of the book would take place in this location and I found it unexciting and a little too slow.

I was bought into the concept of the book, despite being a little outrageous! But ultimately it didn’t develop the characters enough for me to care about them and a clear and propelling enough plot for me to finish.

Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

I have heard so many great things about this one, so I was really excited to dive in. However, even though there were only four main characters, it was somehow hard for me to differentiate between them the first half of this. It was funny and serious at the same time, and I loved the comedic outlandishness when the women were fighting. Keep in mind that it's meant to be corny at times. That said, the story in itself had a few plot holes, and I had a hard time really getting into and staying into this. Overall, it was a quick, fun, not to be taken seriously read, and I give this three and a half stars.

Thank you Netgalley and Sourcebooks Landmark for this ARC.

When a private jet crashes killing all 4 partners of a law firm, their surviving spouses find themselves in a fight for their own lives in Young Rich Widows, an exhilarating collaboration written by four prominent thriller authors. Set in the mid 80’s, the 4 widows, who initially abhor each other, must band together to not only uncover the reason for their spouses unplanned trip and suspicious deaths, but ward off an angry mob boss. Told in alternating chapters from each widow’s POV, the sarcastic and humorous banter and witty dialogue propel the fast moving plot in this totally unpredictable novel. This one grabs you from the first line and doesn’t let go, and the author’s notes at the conclusion hint at a second book from this foursome! Totally enjoyable from start to finish. I received an ARC of this book from the publisher through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I would give this one 3.5 stars if I could. It was a fun thriller-y type read that kept my attention, but I also felt like I had a hard time distinguishing the four main characters from each other - their voices were all mostly the same to me, minus Krystle. But in any case, it was fun and enjoyable.

Don't think too hard; instead just breathe in the smell of aquanet and drink some Tab and enjoy this sordid tale that's part Erin Brokovich, part every married to the mob show/movie you've watched and a lot of fun. Theres plot holes for sure, but it's a fun story that has some improbable twists. It's def a vacation or wine book club read.
