What do you get when you add a stripper, trophy wife, ex model and street wise wife together? An unlikely friendship and a great story!

When their spouses die in a plane crash four women from all different backgrounds most work together to find out how and why. When they start being threatened for the money that they didn't know their spouses owed to the mob, things get a little dicey!

Loved the humor in this
Loved the 80s era
Loved how all of the women came together even the ones that disliked each other
Loved the suspense and secrets unwinding!
LOVED how these women conquered ;)

When the four partners of a prominent law firm are killed in a mysterious plane crash, their widows must come together to uncover the truth in this explosive, edge-of-your-seat novel.

Well, as a lawyer, I immediately requested (I love relating to characters). It has an 80's thriller vibe, which is more about the shock than the thought process. It was a mindless read, which isn't a bad thing, but not really what I was expecting.

There were a few plot holes, which sometimes happens with multiple authors. It wasn't make or break, but was noticeable. I feel like this would be a good audiobook listen in the car rather than sitting down with all your attention.

Thanks @netgalley and @bookmarked for the ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. I have mixed feelings on this book. It was very fast-paced, with a great balance of humour, heart, and suspense. There are some hard topics in this one, and it’s a graphic book at times. That said, I only anticipated some of the twists, and I kind of love how it all came together in the end. This makes it a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ read in my books. Check this book out when it hits shelves in April 2024. #avivaandfriendsrecos

3⭐️. This was OK. It feels like what I image that show desperate housewives was about.. not having even watched it. Snarking 4 widows having to band together to solve the mystery around their spouses’ deaths. Their snark and eventual camaraderie was fun and always positive to see but it was every cliche in one. Let’s add the Italian with past ties to the mob, a woman marrying an older man, a woman who’s husband is cheating and a same sex coupling with a stripper. Ugh, I was getting all the women throughly confused throughout this entire narrative and it didn’t even matter! Popcorn thriller at best, I won’t remember this one in a few months.

A plane crashed near Providence, RI with four partners from a mafia-tied law firm. The women left behind are Justine, Camille, Krystle and Meredith. Justine is a model, Camille is a young second wife, Krystle has her sons, and Meredith is a stripper with a secret relationship. The four women realize their spouses' deaths may not have been a simple accident and the story begins.

Told in their POV, this story evolves. Krystle is a legend! She is determined to pass the law firm to her sons. The ending is surprising.
I forgive you.
I will always love you.
We saved your legacy.
We saved each other.

After the ending, a conversation with the Authors & Widows is great!
Snarky Women, Secrets, and Lies! 3.5 stars

Four lawyers assumed dead after a plane crash. Their spouses/significant other have to step in to manage the firm. At the memorial service, things get more complicated for the widows. They must learn to work together even if they don’t like each other.

A fun, entertaining read full of the mob, wolves, and even assassins. You never know what situation the widows will find themselves in next.

Set in 1985, this was a fun and campy thriller about, as the name clearly implies, four rich women who are widowed when their partners are killed in a plane crash.

I had fun with this one and love that it was co-written by four powerhouse authors. It wasn’t the greatest mystery I’ve ever read but it was highly entertaining and reminded me a bit of First Wives Club!

In the year 1985, Providence, Rhode Island, becomes the backdrop for a gripping tale when the four partners of a prominent law firm with mafia ties meet a tragic end in a private jet crash near New York City. This event shatters the lives of four diverse women: Justine, a former fashion model adjusting to suburban life; Camille, a young and beautiful second wife under suspicion of being a gold digger; Krystle, devoted to passing the firm to her sons after her husband's lifelong support; and Meredith, a stripper at a local club engaged in a secret relationship with the firm's sole female partner.

Initially dismissed as a tragic accident, the crash raises suspicions as the team had no reason to be in New York that day. Soon, it's unveiled that a substantial amount of cash went up in flames with the plane. As the women grapple with the aftermath, they find themselves unexpectedly united in a quest for truth. Each twist in the story introduces new dangers and threats, creating a thrilling narrative that captivates readers. The blend of suspense and mob references adds an extra layer of intrigue to this engaging tale penned by a talented lineup of thriller authors. It's a twisty story that kept me entertained, thanks to the compelling quartet of protagonists and the rich underworld references.

This set in the 80’s mystery was so addicting and fun⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ After four partners at a well-known law firm die in a mysterious plane crash, their wives are forced to work together despite their extremely different personalities. There isn’t a dull moment on this wild ride.

I was excited to read this based on the title, but unfortunately my experience fell flat. It started strong, but went downhill quickly. I was hoping to get more rich young widow shenanigans but they weren't even rich due to the circumstances of the story. It was more a murder-solving Erin Brockovich type novel. Which is fine, but I didn't get that sense going into it.

The writing left a lot to be desired as well. For example, when the widows are arguing with each other, they are so over the top with their insults. I think the tension and arguments would have been stronger -- and made for a more satisfying unification -- if they were a bit more subtle with their digs. How many times in one sentence can you berate someone else for being a stripper? We get the point without the constant hammering of the point.

This book is not for me, but I do see why people would enjoy it.

Young Rich Widows is a campy, tongue in cheek mystery/thriller set in Providence, Rhode Island in 1985. A story that includes murder, the Mob, a few pet wolves, and female competition and friendship. When 4 law partners are killed in a fiery plane crash, their 4 widows are thrown together to solve the mystery of their deaths. Written by 4 authors, it's told from each character's distinct point of view (a former model turned stay-at-home mom, a trophy 2nd wife, a mafia mama who wants her sons to inherit the firm, and a stripper). There aren't too many twists, but several laughs with the over the top characters and the messes they find themselves in. It's a book that doesn't take itself too seriously. 3.5/5 ⭐️ Due out April 1, 2024

Title: Young Rich Widows
Authors: Vanessa Lillie, Kimberly Belle, Layne Fargo, Cate Holahan
Publisher: Sourcebooks Landmark
Pub Date: 4/2/2024

The story begins with a plane crash with all the partners of a law firm onboard. Each partner has at least one secret that their surviving spouses and partner are about to uncover.

Young Rich Widows’ main characters must come together for the reading of the wills. The widows are a founding member’s wife (that make no mistake) likes it her way, a sexy gold digger, a former model that put herself on hold to raise her son and a stripper. What could go wrong in bringing this colorful group of characters together? Secrets. Really bad secrets. Forced to band together to save the firm, themselves and their families there isn’t much they won’t do!

This book is a self described campy thriller. The eighties definitely came calling in this wild and wacky ride!

It’s a quick read that invokes laughter and some deeper meaning. You may even find yourself yelling at the characters to “watch out” or “what are you thinking” and topped with “oh no she didn’t!” Only to then cheer them on as they attempt all kinds of stunts to save their futures and those around them. Each one may just find more than answers.

Thank you #NetGalley, #Sourcebooks, and the authors of #YoungRichWomen for the opportunity to read this ARC book.

This book was really difficult to get into. Four prestigious lawyers die in a plane crash. The widows now band together to find out the truth. And must navigate a field of lies and dishonesty left behind. Do they trust eachother? Honestly predictable and hard to get through. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
