Fun, over the top, and a perfect fabulous read. I read the actual book version (which came out after the audio). It's Rhode Island in the '80s, and when four partners of law firm die in a crash ,they leave behind four widows. The women find themselves wildly in hot water, their lives full of secrets and.... the mafia! This was fun and twisty, and I hope there's another coming!
What a fun read, or listen in my case! You'll be taken on a ride from start to finish, and it will leave you breathless. Four widows and all played out in the audiobook with different narrators. They are all equally amazing, and it really brought the story to life! The twists and turns right to the very end will have you dropping everything to find out what happens!

Summary; 1985, Rhode Island.
A private jet carrying four partners of a Providence law firm crashes outside New York City, killing all aboard but leaving behind more questions than answers and setting the stage for four widows to find the truth.
Justine: a former fashion model adjusting to suburban life
Camille: a beautiful, young second wife whom some suspect is a gold digger
Meredith: a stripper who was in a relationship with the firm’s only female partner
Krystle: a founding partner’s wife committed to the firm being a legacy for her sons
While the crash is initially ruled a tragic accident, something’s not adding up: the team wasn’t supposed to be in New York that day, and it’s soon revealed there was a very large sum of cash that burned up with the plane.
The scene is as wild as ‘80s neon, and the manic chase to uncover the Mafia-laced secrets gives this rip-roaring read a rad vibe that will linger long after the ‘80s soundtrack fades and the hairspray falls.

My thoughts: this was a fun little romp that definitely wanted to be something along the lines of the Finlay Donovan series. It was unique and had moments that were quite funny. Overall the biggest downfall of this book is that there were far too many character and POV switches. I really can’t even tell you which wife was married to which husband still at the end of the book. Each character had their own seperate arc that was seperate from the overall plot of the story. It was just a little too much for me to be honest ! Thank you @sourcebookscasa and @netgalley for the advance copy, this one came out last month (forever behind on reviews 🥲)

What a great book! This is a fun read that had me hooked, and I loved all of the narrators of the story. Also, adore these authors and the 80's vibes!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the eARC! This was such a fun campy story, I was surprised by how much I enjoyed all of the writing styles combined into one. I’m so glad this is now in ebook and print after being exclusively available on audio. Would absolutely recommend!
Four partners of a law firm are killed in an airplane crash, leaving their wives behind to pay a debt to the mob, money they don’t have. The wives don’t really like one another and they have to work together to save their collective hides. There were four authors of this book, still leaving room for in consistencies, but it is full of irrational and crazy fun. I had a couple of laugh out loud moments. So kick your shoes off and enjoy.
Thank you NetGalley for an advanced copy of this book for an honest review.
Happy Reading Everyone!
While this book was entertaining, the mystery was lacking and it didn’t deliver the way it could have. The plot was over the top, but still a fun, light read. Thank you to Sourcebooks and NetGalley for an ARC of this book.
I enjoy Kimberly Belle's writing, so I thought I'd try this. She's one of four writers who c0-wrote the book, each writing one of the main characters - Krystle (written by Vanessa Lillie), Justine (written by Cate Holahan), Camille (written by Kimberly Belle), and Meredith (written by Layne Fargo). It's a super-light "girl power" story with well-written characters, but the storylines are pretty predictable. Having said that, I got through it really quickly, it was fun to read, and the characters were easy to root for. The story begins with a 1985 private jet crash killing the partners of a Providence, Rhode Island law firm. Four women who previously either didn't know each other well or already disliked each other are forced to work together to figure out what happened and how to move on. Krystle is the wife of one of the founding partners and she's determined to save the law firm for the sake of her sons. Justine is a former fashion model who moved from New York City and now centers her life around her young son JJ. Camille is the beautiful second-wife of an older partner who seems to be a gold digger. Meredith is a stripper who's in a relationship with the closeted female partner. The women couldn't be more different from each other and one has been carrying on an affair with another one's husband. Yet the women have to set aside their differences to find a way to figure out how some of the law firm's dealings with the Providence mob and other shady characters may have affected the plane crash. Thanks to #netgalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This was a slow start that heated up into an explosive story. The four widows all have something to gain and something to hide. Can they figure out how to trust each other or will they destroy each other and themselves??
A twist of fate brings the widows together to try to find out what happened to their significant others. Were the murdered by the mob? Was it an accident? Who is double-crossing? Who is back-stabbing?
A drama-filled adventure that has some twists and turns and eventually hooks you for the full read. I can't say it was gripping and surprising. It was fun!
As their wives and girlfriends are readying for the law firm's annual holiday party, the four partners are killed in a plane crash. The young, rich widows soon learn that they are definitely not rich, and Krystle, wife of the founding partner, was not truly young to begin with. As they scramble to find the $4 million demanded by the mob, the women find a good bit more--deeper ties to the mob and a secret the lawyers were trying to keep (other than the fact one was gay and one was cheating on his wife with another partner's wife). Despite these realizations, the women work together to uncover a deadly secret in Providence, Rhode Island.
Set in the 1980s, with big hair and all the cliches of the decade, this book is a fun romp with Erin Brockovich undertones. #YoungRichWidows #NetGalley
Young Rich Widows is a collab and when I tell you these ladies pulled it off effortlessly. I was lucky enough to be invited to their pub party and meeting each author was amazing. @vanessalillie @cateholahan @laynefargo @kimberlysbelle, thank you for throwing the best party! I loved the story and how seamlessly it flowed. This was twisty, while still having humor in it. Clearly, the neon 80’s is a fave of mine and it added such a fun atmosphere. I highly, highly recommend this.
I was hooked on this book and couldn’t get enough of it! The plot thoroughly entertained me and I found myself completely enamored by the characters. The elements at play involve the Mafia, infidelity, financial influence, corruption, and even dangerous individuals. Oh, and WOLVES! It really can’t get any better than that! This book is fantastic and absolutely worth reading!
This was a fun read! I enjoyed it more then I expected to.
At first I was very confused by all the characters for some reason, but once their characters started to develop, I really liked the widows and was extremely invested in their story.
This is not a thriller. I would say it’s maybe a dark comedy, very Finlay Donavan.
4 women find themselves widows after their partners planes go down. These women have to put aside their differences and try to figure out what happened and find the money their spouses supposedly owed the mob before their deaths. This is a total girl power book and just really sweet. Totally recommend!
Thank you Netgalley for the ARC!
Secrets, lies, twists, this book has it all with the added bonus of taking place in the very fun 80s! I loved the idea of authors collaborating to write different characters and it paid off in an incredibly entertaining way!
Young Rich Widows was dramatic and suspenseful in the best possible way. It follows 4 newly widowed women after the death of their partners. The plane crash that caused their significant others' deaths, however, turns out to be intentional, and the widows must work together to find out who killed their husbands and why---before they become the next victims. Bonus points for being set in the 80's!
Im a fan of Kimberly Belle so that attracted me to the book. I really struggled with my connection to the characters in this book. I also found it to be predictable.
A great line up of authors! This was fun, if not a little over the top 'Mob Wives" feels. Possibly that was the intention and why so many have loved it. I enjoyed it for the most part and if you're after an entertaining fast paced thriller where you might have to suspend belief for a while, then pick this up.
Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for my e-arc 🙏
I was so excited to read Young Rich Widows by Kimberly Belle, Layne Fargo, Cate Holahan, and Vanessa Lillie! Especially when I saw the book took place in the 80s! YES PLEASE! Four partners in a law firm are killed in a crash and the widows are left behind to figure out what really happened. I love this premise and it vaguely reminded me of a book I read in the 1980s where a group was taken to a corporate retreat in the jungle and people began dying.
But I digress! This is an awesome premise and I feel like we need more books set in the 80s.

Great concept. Loved that I have been intriduced to some new to me authors. Easy quick read. Three stars
