So, the book starts off a little slow.. but definitely worth the read! This is my first by the author, I really liked the way she writes, I liked that the mystery mixed the past and the present. I will definitely read more by this author.

This was a solid weekend thriller, which is to say - I was happy enough to spend Sunday afternoon reading it, but had I been skiving off work to finish it on a weekday afternoon I would have ended it feeling a little resentful of myself for not putting it down and doing what I was supposed to do. You know? Like, it was diverting, but didn't quite earn its hours in the end.

Which is too bad, because I did find this to be pretty well-paced and easy to keep reading. I could forgive the somewhat thin characterization but there were just too many weird loose ends here. The narrative seemed to imply the MC had one last ~*~secret~*~ (<i>She hadn't told them everything, but what she had told them was the truth</i>) especially as when she's finally called out she seems startled at what she's asked. So...what was she expecting to be asked, then?

I felt pretty certain this would come up as one last ringer to give us a twistier ending but instead it just...ends. The killer is identified and everyone goes home. Genuinely, did the author forget to add something here? That unfortunately knocked an admittedly generous fourth star off the rating and left this one solidly in the middle of the road.

This was fine, I guess. It felt like a story I'd read a hundred times before. A little unimaginative.

I always enjoy locked room mysteries, and this one was no exception. This was a quick and easy read with an intriguing murder mystery.

When a group of people connected to an old murder case are brought together to a remote cabin, they're ready to confront their shared past. I enjoyed learning about the character's personalities and motivations as we work our way towards the truth.

She left is a perfect summer murder mystery that I recommend if you're in the mood for some summer fun.

I'm surprised to see the review average on this one, because I enjoyed it! To be fair, I think I'm pretty easy to please in this genre - give me a locked room plot in an isolated location with bad weather and I'm all over it.

When the MC was a teenager, she stormed out of a cabin she was staying at with friends and went home - only to find out the five friends had been brutally murdered after she left. 20 years later, a number of people connected to the victims are pulled together to stay in a fancy house in the woods by a journalist wanting their stories - but all is not as it seems...

This one had definite echoes of And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie and honestly, I really enjoyed that about it. It's the first ATTWN-inspired story I've read that I could actually really see and feel the inspiration in the story, beyond just having the locked room trope.

This might make me sound a bit questionable but I also liked that a decent amount of people died! It wasn't just one death and then everyone running around, it had that consistent pattern like its inspiration.

I also liked the out of the box thinking with regards to how to solve the modern locked room thriller problem of everyone having mobile phones.

No it's not the kind of book where you're going to get super invested in the characters, or be utterly shocked and blown away by anything, but it's fun, easy reading, atmospheric and kept me turning pages.

I thought it was a solid example of the genre and I had a good time with it!

Oh, hell yes, a 'final girl' story that didn't make me annoyed! Stacie Grey, I'm going to need another book from you immediately. I couldn't put down 'She Left', it was absolutely addicting!

It is a party of teenagers and Amy Brewer is not having a very good time since she feels picked on by a few of the most popular girls so she decides to go home after she's near tears and no-one even tries to stop her. Was it a blessing or a curse that the next day she finds out she was the only one to survive a mass murder!

Many years later, Amy is now an FBI agent and always hoping to discover what happened on that fatal night where most of the town believed she had something to do with the murders and made her feel like the town pariah. Amy receives an email invitation to a reunion of sorts where all the invitees have some connection to the teenagers who were violently killed on that horrific night. Amy doesn't really want to go on this getaway yet she feels compelled to attend this reunion because maybe she can finally put the pieces back together and solve all the murders that destroyed her life as well on that unforgettable night.


This was a very good and enjoyable mystery/thriller by Stacie Grey. Many twists and red herrings throughout the story and Amy was also a solid character with a lot of baggage. Most of the characters were fun and entertaining although I was hoping this would be a much darker book but this was due to my own personal taste since there wasn't anything wrong with the storyline or writing. I think many people would enjoy this book and I definitely recommend it to all mystery lovers, especially if they enjoy their mysteries being a little lighter but not a cozy mystery either.

She Left fell a bit short for me. As a big fan of locked room murder mysteries, I had to check this one out. I really wish the characters were developed more and the book had dual timelines as I would have enjoyed some flashbacks about the events leading up to the cabin murders. Strong beginning that turned into a slow burn. Overall a decent mystery.

She Left by Stacie Grey tells the story of Amy Brewster, the lone survivor of a mass killing 20 years ago. She and 5 other high school friends were attending a party at someones cabin when she had a fight and left early. The others were killed shortly after she left. Twenty years later she now goes by her middle name, she's an FBI agent, and she and ten 0thers close to the case have been invited to participate in an interview for a prestigious publication. They're invited to a secluded cabin and when they arrive they find their host to be gone. As they settle in to wait, things start to go wrong. Will Amy survive this time?

This is one of many recent locked-in style mysteries but there were too many characters to keep track of, the main character was quite uninteresting and none of the others were very likeable. This was a predictable book and even with the "twists", it never got very exciting.

If you like locked in style mysteries, skip this one and go for one of the many others that have recently been published.

I really enjoyed this book! It was well-paced with lots of actions and really interesting characters. I would definitely like to read something else by Stacie Grey.

This is a fun mystery in the long lineage of And Then There Were None tales with a few added layers. For one, we find out early on who has gathered everyone at the secluded locale to seek revenge for a long-ago wrong, but it seems there is someone else who is motivated to start picking off the guests. While none of the reveals are particularly jaw-dropping, the unfolding story kept my attention (at a time when I have struggled to focus on any book at all) and left me guessing right up until the end. I’d definitely check out what Stacie Grey has coming out next!

This is a good Mystery/Thriller book! 20 years ago Amy brewer and her friends from high school went to a cabin to stay for the weekend. However, it is not the friends weekend getaway they had hoped for. Amy decides to leave the cabin and gets on a bus to go back home. When she gets home her neighbor knocks on her door to make sure she is home and alright because she heard that everyone was murdered back at the cabin. 20 years later Amy is a FBI Agent and she has moved on with her life but she gets a invitation to go back to that same cabin for a weekend a long with 9 other people who knew or were connected with the friends that died that night at the cabin. They all are hoping to get more answers, figure out who killed them, more evidence, etc. but unfortunately again things don’t turn out as they had hoped the second time at their weekend at the cabin either. They have to fight to survive once again. Thank you to Netgalley and Poisoned Pen Press for giving me the opportunity to read and review a ARC of this book.

I couldn’t get into the story just as I thought. Not disappointed but need more depth, I think. I can't remember when was the last time when I read a book in which the whole plot was 100% equal to what was written in the blurb and nothing more. There was no surprise there, no resolution to any of the plot threads and the whole story was blatantly predictable and painfully dull.

She Left by Stacie Grey was another 5 star read for me! A gripping, fast-paced murder mystery in the vein of Agatha Christie's And Then There Were None, everyone is a suspect.

Twenty years ago, Amy Brewer was hanging out with her so-called friends when things went too far and Amy left the cabin they were in. She walked home, and by the time she got there, all five of her friends were dead. Now, a journalist has asked a group of people connected to the Memorial Day Massacre to come to an isolated home in the mountainside for a weekend of reminiscing. *Now, I will say that if you have a hard time with numerous characters, you'll want to write them down as you go along.* Amy, now going by her middle name Therese, is an FBI agent and is there with eight people who are mostly strangers, and only remotely connected to one of the deceased in this mansion when a storm rolls in. Then people start dying, and everyone is a suspect in the murders twenty years ago and the murders now.

This novel got right to the action, immediately pulling me in. Starting with Amy's point-of-view as she walks home from the cabin, it then jumps to her driving to the house for the interview, where she meets all the other people. Some of the people seem random and not connected to the massacre at all, but everyone is supposed to be either a suspect or know some key piece of information. There were so many puzzle pieces, clues, and people to keep track of! I think at some point I was sure every person was the culprit. As the backstories are revealed, it starts making sense, and the characters are well-developed.

All in all, this is a great murder mystery set in an isolated area during a storm. What else could you ask for?? Definitely go and grab this one!

I enjoyed quite a bit about this tale. The intensity is high even if it is a bit far fetched. And I enjoyed the mystery surrounding who did what!
