I liked this. It was a bit slow going in the beginning. We are setting up the scene, characters, motivations, etc. Twenty years ago, Amy leaves a party and some of her friends are killed. Now Amy/Therese is an FBI agent and returning to the scene of the crime due to an invitation to a secluded cabin with a journalist to be interviewed. She hopes to try and figure out what happened but there are 10 other people there who were connected to the long-ago killings. Not surprisingly murder and mayhem ensue, and we get to figure out whodunnit. Now, I did end up really enjoying the story but feel I wasn't given enough information to solve the crime. Not to worry though, still a nice twist. Anyone who likes locked-room type stories should enjoy this one.

Now she is an FBI Agent and has received an invitation to spend a weekend in a secluded luxurious cabin to be interviewed with nine other people who were somehow either involved with the case, or were related to someone who was killed that night. But when they all arrive, something is obviously wrong. Someone has an agenda and someone among them is a killer. As bodies pile up, desperation and fighting breaks out. Theresa must ferret out the killer in this tense situation, or she may not make it out alive either.
Suspicious characters, a raging storm and the anticipation of who will be killed next held my interest. Thank you Netgalley and Poisoned Pen Press for an early copy. Comments expressed in this review are my opinion.

This was a locked room mystery and a half! Such a fast read, that I read in almost one sitting. I do love a reunion story and this is a doozy!!

20 years ago, Amy left the party early. Shortly afterwards, a bomb went off in the house and killed everyone who was there. Now, Amy is an FBI agent and is returning to town for a weekend with a journalist who is writing a story about what really happened that night.also invited are 9 other people with links to the case and the victims.

Of course, nothing goes smoothly in these kinds of stories, and the reunion soon turns deadly. And of course there is a storm. I was turning these pages so fast, not really sure if I trusted anyone at all. It is a fun but dark murder mystery, in the vein of And Then There Were None.

I really liked the plot of this thriller, a closed room mystery.

I really liked the beginning and highly enjoyed the end but the middle got a little boring at times. Each character was interesting with their own secrets and motives and I appreciate that it was told in many POVs so we could see what each one of them was hiding and help us figure who did what.

This was a fun read and I certainly had to keep guessing who I thought the killer was. I didn’t figure it out until the end but it wasn’t very obvious and I appreciate that. I was able to enjoy the story d mystery because there were so many potential scenarios it kept me in my toes. The only thing I didn’t love is it was hard to keep up with the characters as there were 10 guests in the lodge and 5 victims in the previous mass slaying, it was a lot to remember. Overall, I would recommend this for anyone looking for a fast paced murder mystery!

This was just too slow a burn for me. I like more things to be happening and the plot to be constantly progressing and this just dragged a bit too much for me. The ending was the best part but it didn't make up for such a slow death march to get us there

Now 20yrs later she is invited to a get together in a remote cottage where the guests are getting murdered one by one.
It started out interesting but went downhill for me with it going so slow and not one likeable character. But it did have a twist at the end.

Flash forward twenty years, ten people with connections to that night are in a remote house to help a journalist write a piece on those murders….or are they? Nothing is as it seems….

Even though I finished this book, I really should have DNFd it. It was a “whodunnit” with a failed execution. I liked the creative point of views, but we didn’t get much backstory into the “why” all those years ago until there was less than 10% of the book left, so the plot of bringing all these characters together, was ultimately a downward spiral crammed into 10% of the book. I held out hoping this book would grip me eventually, but it didn’t.

Your classic reunion after a tragedy. What actually happened that night years ago? Why were these certain people brought together years later? Who is responsible for the murders?

I was intrigued and interested in the premise of this book from the blurb. It did fall flat for me though. There were a few exciting moments in the story, but I was kind of bored for most of it. The reveal at the end wasn't expected, I had someone else pegged for the killer. What I did enjoy was how all the characters were chosen for the get together, and how they were involved with the teens who died. Overall, it wasn't bad just wasn't a favorite.

This was a really enjoyable whodunit and then there were none style book. I am a sucker for a good can you solve it mystery and I enjoyed this.

Could I have solved it based on the information given to the reader? No. But I felt like it carried me to the end well enough I wasn’t too bothered by that. While the ending isn’t exactly satisfying, it wraps it up enough I was okay with it.

It’s a quick read and you want to know what happens at the end, a great beach read vibe. Thank you NetGalley!

But as a storm closes in, guests are picked off… apparently somebody intends to kill to keep their secrets.
She Left is a locked-house mystery. Finding many of the characters unlikeable impacted on my care factor, however, it’s an enjoyable and easy read. 3.5 stars

Therese receives an invitation, along with several others connected to a mass killing that happened 20 years ago, to a lodge under false pretences. Murders start happening at the lodge and they need to figure out who's behind it all.

There were a lot of characters and because they didn't really have any defining or distinctive traits, I found it difficult to distinguish between them. They felt quite bland, lacking personality and I wasn't invested in any of them. This made it hard to care about the outcome of the plot.

I’m always eager to read any and all And Then There Were None-inspired books, but I’ve never read anything that was as good as the original. That is, until She Left. While it was no Agatha Christie, it was the very best modern take that I have read.

Teenage Amy is having a terrible time at a house party, so she leaves. I would have left as well. I already hate house parties.
The next we hear from her 20 years has gone by and she now a cop, or special agent or whatever and she is investigating something that happened at that party after she left. She isn't' investigating on purpose though. Someone invited her to something and I guess she didn't learn her lesson because she shows up.
And it is sketchy right away.
The story becomes a closed door mystery with ten guests all connected to that night trapped in this fancy cabin. The way I would have walked out of that place, if I had shown up at ll.
People start dying and our protagonist has to work to keep them alive, while trying to figure out who is doing this. I felt for these people, well some of them anyway.
I LOVE the ending. Love it. 5/5

Amy is the only survivor of a massacre which left her group of friends dead, twenty years later she is asked to attend a weekend getaway by a journalist with others with connections to what happened years ago. I devoured this one, wow. I felt like I was playing an old school game of Clue. I loved the who dunnit plot and the setting of the whole book. It was the perfect creepy but interesting read I've had in a long time. It was extremely fast paced and definitely kept you guessing up until the very end.

Who done it thriller! Will have you guessing until the very end. Honestly, it could have gone either way which was the true beauty. This could have alternative endings and I will devour them all because no one is not a suspect in my mind.

Very interestingly written. I was pulled in right away and couldn’t wait for the mystery to be solved.

A locked door murder mystery that will have you turing the next page ready to find out who dunnit. Amy Therese Brewer survived the “Memorial Day massacre” and now 20 years later she returns to her home town at the request of a journalist who wants to write an article. But what she finds is a group of people who has connections to all her friends who were murdered 20 years ago. Not only that but now people are dying and it is all connected to that day 20 years ago. I liked the pacing of the book. I had some issues keeping track of everyone initially and how they were all connected. The main pov is Therese but you will get POVs of the other characters here and there scattered throughout the book. Overtime of course there will be reveals on the motives the other characters could have to have committed the crime 20 years ago and in connection the crimes now. Throw in a storm that is going on right now and them not being able to leave the huge house on a cliff side. It is a classic type of murder mystery that I can binge in one sitting.. I will say I enjoyed myself overall I will definitely be giving Stacie Grey another read in the future.
