thank you to netgalley for the advanced reading copy. I really enjoyed this and will be getting copies for my shop.
I am incedibly thankful to Netgalley because i had the opportunity to read this book as an ARC, however...it wasn't my style. The writing was brilliant, but the third person narration kind of threw me off guard (this is absolutely my problem, english is not my first language and i'm just not used to it) and the FMC was kind of shallow to me and not really a feminist. Maybe this is just a problem of mine, but seeing other reviews, i don't think so.
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC provided exchange for an honest review. The FMC and MMC seem heavily inspired by Brad and Jen. Our FMC stays with her very hot bodyguard while riding out a cheating scandal that leads to her divorce. The were some slow moments in the book but overall I enjoyed the story. The author wrote a strong resilient FMC. Tropes: Forced Proximity 🌶️🌶️
Sweetly sexy, action-packed and emotionally thrilling journey filled with exciting and engaging charters, witty banter, heart racing twists, exciting turns and undeniable passion. An edge of your seat emotional roller-coaster adventure that left me breathless.
After a public heartbreak, Hollywood star Courtney seeks solace in a secluded Colorado cabin with her attractive bodyguard, Damien. Struggling to mend her shattered heart, she finds comfort in Damien's presence. Despite their undeniable chemistry, Damien, a man of honour, resists taking advantage of her vulnerability.

This was a fun and quick romcom. While it occasionally dives into melodrama and tiptoes into the realm of the utterly absurd, the writing is good and the story flows with no major bumps.
Courtney is the heart and soul of this story. Her growth amid the chaos of her life is delightful. But let’s talk about Damien. Yes, he’s undeniably good-looking and very supportive to our FMC, but his constant 'I-know-better' vibe grated on my nerves. Not my ideal MMC to be honest.
As for the spice, it didn’t quite do it for me, which doesn't happen often. Courtney's quest to unearth her inner seductress, though? Now, that I did love. The pole dance striptease was absolutely priceless.
I also loved the female empowerment throughout the narrative. However, and this is a big ‘however’, the fact that we’re still slinging around the word 'slut' in 2023 was a major letdown. We were hoping society had evolved a bit more by now, weren’t we?
In a nutshell, this read delivers a speedy, enjoyable escape that you can finish in a single sitting.

There is something always so satisfying about a celebrity/bodyguard romance, especially when they are so well written like A Hollywood Ending!
Seeing characters who allow themselves to be vulnerable with someone they trust is something I love to read about, and the angst of Damien not wanting to take advantage of her vulnerability just adds to the tension throughout the book.
Overall, this book was such a great read and I enjoyed every moment of it!
This is the third book I have read by Melanie Summers and I just keep falling in love with her books. This is a super sweet romance. It’s a quick read that I read in a day. I just couldn't put it down!! I really enjoyed seeing Courtney realize who did and did not have her back and how she grew stronger. It’s also a steamy romance, so if that’s not your thing you may want to skip it. I would definitely recommend this book.
Thank you NetGalley and Indigo Group for allowing me to read this ARC for my honest opinion.
My first Melanie Summers and it for sure won't be the last! Can't wait to dive into her other books after this one 🥰
When actress Courtney is staring down at a very messy and public divorce, it lands her in a secluded cabin with her newly appointed bodyguard Damien. While they initially get off on the wrong foot, as their guards start to come down and their friendship builds as Courtney works on her strategy to take back her life. Damien is one heck of a cinnamon role, cheerleader and best friend, knowing just when to challenge or comfort Courtney, all whilest wanting to stay true to his honorable self. While Courtneh had her, for lack of a better word, Hollywood actress woe is me moments, it wasn't as insufferable as it could have been and then, she truly started to grow and flourish!
This was such a fun vacation read, loved getting to spend an afternoon with Damien and Courtney. And besides, who doesn't love a good bodyguard romcom!!!
Thank you Netgalley and Indigo group for the ARC in exchange for my review!
Unfortunately this book just wasn’t for me.
While I found the concept interesting and felt like they’re some good components, it just fell incredibly flat. There was very little character development and it was extremely dialogue heavy. I also felt like it leaned a bit into both stereotypes and tropes in a way that ultimately was not enjoyable.
Thank you NetGalley, Indigo Group and Melanie Summers for granting me access to this book in exchange for an honest review.
AMAZING!!! What a sweet, fun and spicy contemporary romance with some of my favorite tropes!! It has your celebrity trope, sexy bodyguard trope, forced proximity, opposites/instant attraction BUT slow burn, pining, tension, humor, banter, passion, chemistry, spice and guy falls first!! Summers has a way of making you feel so emotionally invested in the characters that I could not help but root for Damien and Courtney. I absolutely loved this book so much🩷🩷!! Once I started reading I could not stop and I finished it in one sitting. I found myself smiling, laughing, crying and swooning! Everything I could possible want in a romance book🥰🥰!!
Courtney's Hollywood career is about to be destroyed by her celebrity husband who cheats on her and plans to end her career. The people who are paid to protect and support Courtney end up manipulating and betraying her. Trying to escape from the paparazzi, she finds herself hiding away in a secluded cabin with her new hot bodyguard/retired marine, Damien. When Courtney wanted to wallow in self pity and give up, Damien was there every time to support and encourage her to reclaim her life. Courtney's personal growth from a victim to a warrior/survivor was inspiring and uplifting! Along the way, Damien falls hard for her but he will not cross that line because he is an honorable man. What Damien does not realize is Courtney has fallen for him too. I loved Damien and Courtney's story and their connection and chemistry was off the charts hot🔥🔥 with just the right amount of spice🌶️🌶️.
Overall, I was completely captivated from start to finish! I cannot recommend this book enough and it deserves all the stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!!!
This was a nice short read that gave me a few people to hate and Damien to love. I mean Courtney has surrounded herself with horrible people who don't care about her and only have their interests in mind
I love to read about a woman who claps back and makes a bigger come back than her abusers, I do wish that Courtney's ex's downfall was clear - it almost seemed like he was somewhere doing alright and I want him to be suffering at all times
This story was cute and although a bit unrealistic I bought into the fantasy
WOW! Talk about a book full of feminine positivity and power! A spicy read, A Hollywood Ending by Melanie Summers had me blushing and laughing-out-loud. Summers was able to create characters who grew as people, and I really was not expecting the story I got… it was even better!
Meet Courtney. Her career is going up in flames when her husband cheats. She is pawned off on someone hired to be her security detail. Meet Damien. He was hired to provide protection to a woman from Hollywood. He is there while she gets an overhaul on her life via a self-help retreat.
I adored this read. It had me blushing a few times, because we all know that’s how I am with the spicy scenes, but oh my gosh was this a wonderful read. The perfect example of perseverance in the face of adversity, I highly recommend this read for anyone who needs an example of what love really is.
Melanie Summers is one of my favorite authors. The new book A Hollywood Ending is wonderful. Happy reading!
**I received an ARC of this book courtesy of NetGalley and the publisher. All opinions expressed in this review are my own and given freely**
A Hollywood Ending is a book about a famous actor Courtney and a bodyguard Damien. They meet when he takes a last minute job guarding her, and she ends up stuck with him in Colorado in the middle of nowhere after a publicity stunt pulled by her (now ex) husband who cheated on her.
She reinvents herself with Damien’s help and they fall for each other.
It was a really great book, however I think there was not so much tension as it was described but still good and I think she just forgave him too quickly at the end that didn’t sit quite right they just end up back together.
4/5 stars
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
There were very strong parts of this book and others not so strong. I liked the conversations between the two leads.
this was such a good book, about leaning to standt up for yourself, and finding out it`s okay get help when it`s it to hard to do by yourself.

Thank you NetGalley for providing me this arc in exchange for my honest review.
I chose this book because of it's cover and description but the plot did not match my expectations. I couldn't vibe with the characters and the plot wasn't very realistic. Overall, this book was not something I'd usually read. Although, I'd like to read something else from the author.
I did enjoy this! I think for those who like Ava Wilder, they would definitely have a fun time with this book. I wouldn't say it was my favorite, but I still enjoyed my reading experience.
I would say this book is 3.5 stars. It's just pretty average in my opinion. It was kind of boring tbh. The plot was interesting but it just didn't really grab my attention like some other books do. I liked both of the characters though. They were both interesting enough. Although, their relationship was kind of odd and definitely felt rushed. Other than that, I think it was pretty well written and certainly had some funny moments. It has a couple mentions of some heavy topics but it's nothing really that crazy. It's mostly surface level. I would most likely recommend this to someone looking for a quick read to fill some down time.
This was my first bodyguard romance and it definitely was worth the read. It has all the tropes I enjoy reading; Celebrity romance, Friends to Lovers, and Forced Proximity, which are top of my list. It was amazing to see the growth of the characters but sometimes it was a little too unrealistic for my taste. I enjoyed the steamy parts of the book because they were STEAMY!! However, as mentioned above, I enjoyed seeing insight into the MCs and would definitely read more books from this author in the future.
