This book was sooo good. It had me screaming at my book the whole time. lol I followed this up right after the first one and it did not disappoint. Don't get me wrong Christa was doing the most sometimes and had her own set of issues but it was so perfect for this book. I enjoyed learning more about her back story because at first she was just one big mystery. I need another one. So so good! Thank you so much for this arc.

Thanks for the opportunity to read this second book in the series.
As expected from L.G. Davis it was amazing and gripping throughout.
Can be read as a standalone but I wouldn't miss book one.
I highly appreciate it. A definite 5 stars.

This is the sequel to the New Nanny and it certainly didn’t disappoint. We find Christa still determined to track down her long lost son. She receives an anonymous letter giving her the whereabouts of the man who fathered her son and thinks he will have information for her. The man is now married and has twin girls. So Christa manages to secure the job of nanny even though she has a six month old baby of her own. She is amazed that he does not recognise her but she finds it difficult to talk to him and ask the relevant questions,. Things are made difficult for her when a neighbour and ex friend of his wife decides to investigate Christa as she does not trust her. Then out of the blue Wyatt turns up (he was the teenage boy of the previous family Christa was a nanny for) and tries to persuade her to accept him as her son and soon things start to turn nasty. Can Christa manage to find out what happened to her baby before all her own lies are revealed. This was another absorbing read and just as gripping as the precious book. An emotional rollercoaster of a read.
Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book,

This is the eagerly anticipated sequel to the New Nanny which saw Christa more determined to track down her missing baby. Even the terrible things that have happened in her last place of employment haven't put her off her quest. Now thanks to an anonymous letter she believes she has tracked down the man who betrayed her an who she believes stole her newborn baby. Yet again Christa has inveigled her way into a nannying position with the intention of searching for something that will help her in her quest. But what she doesn't know is that while she is watching her employers someone is watching her. There are some absolutely heart stopping moments in this book especially when Christa is sneaking about unaware that every move she makes is being recorded. While there was tension throughout the story nothing prepared me for the thrilling climax. To say I was astounded would be a major understatement, I was absolutely aghast. Googling this author I have discovered that she has written quite a few stand alone thrillers so I will be checking these out in the hope they will be just as good as this short series.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book

It is a fantastic story, exhilarating plot, well developed characters, and a well executed shocking ending. I read in one day, unputdownable and very addictive. Recommend to every thriller reader.

Another great thriller book. So many twists and turns you didn’t see coming. Hard to believe how many things happen in this book. Great book and so easy to read. I didn’t want to out it down.

Christa is a single mom to 6-month-old Heather. She applied for and got accepted for a nanny position for Harper and Troy to care for their 7-year-old twin daughters, Ella and Leah. Troy is a pediatrician and Harper is a well-respected woman who runs many charities. Theirs appears to be a loving relationship. Christa is even lucky enough to live in their guest cottage on their property. But Christa is on a mission as she feels that Troy is not who he says he is. Christa was previously working as a nanny to a teenage boy in Austria. However, that came to a bad ending. Christa’s son was taken from her when she birthed him many years ago and she is intent on finding him. Her first mission was in Austria and now she has other information and just wants to find her son.
Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for giving me an advance copy.

So delicious and deeply disturbing. I personally think the nanny has some dark issues that she needs to address. I definitely wouldn't want her looking after my kids even though she is caring and kind with the children. I was so hooked by the first book in the series and this one is just as good!

The second book in the series and whoever said sequels aren’t as good definitely were not correct for this second book. 5 star rating completely and utterly well deserved.

Life has changed immensely for Crista since she left Austria and the Mayer family. She is back in America and also a mother of a 6 month old baby girl, Heather. However, she still feels that she can’t rest until she finds out where her stolen baby boy is. She seeks out the one person who can give her the truth, Brett, the baby’s father, but Brett has made a new life for himself far away from his and Crista’s history when they were younger. He is now married to Harper, has changed his name to Troy and has two twin daughters, Ella and Leah. Crista is desperate for information and so engineers a way into Brett’s life by acting as a nanny to the twins for Harper and him and is hopeful she will get the chance to talk to him and find out where her baby boy now is. However, Christas mission to get to talk to Brett runs into difficulties when nosy neighbour and ex friend of Harper, Madison, makes it clear she doesn’t trust Christa and starts to investigate her, plus Wyatt, (the teenager from the previous family she nannied for) also turns up out the blue and is determined to scare her and make her accept him as her son using any and all possible methods. Christa is running out of time to find out the information she needs from Brett as the truth and her lies are quickly catching up to her. Will she finally be able to find out what happened to her baby boy from Brett, or will she have to run away before she is found out and carrying on living her life forever with a little piece of her heart missing?!

Well, well, well this truly was better than the first one of the series, although the previous book was really good too this one definitely eclipses it. I was so excited to begin this one and it didn’t disappoint. I got into the story a lot faster than the first book and I really enjoyed hearing a lot more about Christa’s history as in the first book it was mainly only alluded to but not really described. As I have said in previous reviews, I can tell how good a book is when I start getting frustrated about life getting in the way of reading and with this one it definitely happened. I wanted everything to go away so I could just read read and read.

Ultimately a great sequel from LG Davis, it’s not often a sequel surpasses the first book, but it did in this case. I would wholeheartedly recommend this book for anyone who enjoys psychological thrillers, you will not be disappointed!

Thank you to NetGalley, L.G Davis and Bookouture for my advanced reading copy. Out now.

The Nanny's Child is book two in the Lies we tell series that is written by L.G. Davis. I have not read book 1 - and I did not have any problems following along. This is the first book that I have read by this author - and it will not be my last. The story starts out with a heart-pounding scene and does not let up .The story is told from multiple point of views.

Christa is a nanny to two twin girls. She was not 100% honest with her new employer and she has an ulterior motive. Her employer, Harper is married to Troy. Christa feels like she knows Troy from her past. She needs to find out some things if it is him. Christa is still looking for her son who was taken from her at birth.

Madison , the ex-best friend to Harper, is suspicious of Christa from the start. She watches Christa constantly and follows her. She is very creepy.

Oh, this book took me on a journey. I did not want to partake in life while reading - I just wanted to sit and read and find out what happens next.

Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley - for the chance to read this story - all thoughts are my own.

**a huge thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and LG Davis for the opportunity to review an ARC of this book**

I jumped right into this one after The New Nanny while the story line and character profiles were still fresh in my head, but honestly it wasn't necessary. The first book provided good back story, but you can almost read these as standalones, the author does a good job refreshing important tidbits of information that are necessary to the story line.

I felt the writing style in this book was SO much better than the first book.
This has all the suspense and shady characters you would expect from a well written domestic thriller, when you are constantly flip flopping on who you can trust.

I'd vote on book 3!!

The Nanny's Child by L.G Davis is the second book in the new The Lies We Tell series and this was no different, an excellent book, especially as it was a continuous from the last book. I ended up reading it on one day. I was gripped from the beginning till the end especially as it had great twists and turns and another good storyline.

I am looking forward reading more books from the author. I just love the way she writes and all her characters are excellent.

Big Thank you to Netgalley and especially Bookouture for my Arc copy.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the chance to read and review this book. I think this book is a 3.5 overall. There were times I'd have rated it closer to a 3 and a couple of times near the end, I'd have maybe stretched it to a 4. This is the second book in this series, and I have not read the first one. The story revolves around a woman (Christa) and her own baby daughter Heather, who takes a job as a live-in nanny for a family with two daughters. Christa, we learn, has a hidden motive for taking the job with Harper and her husband Troy. We learn that both Christa and Troy are not who we think they are. There is some good mystery built into the storyline, but there is a lot of dialogue that I found a bit "cringy" at times and some parts of the plot seemed to be drawn out more than necessary. There seemed to be a lot of time spent about how Christa and Troy knew each other, but it still felt a bit superficial. Then there's the neighbour Madison, who is a former close friend of Harper's and who is very suspicious of Christa and her motives for suddenly turning up for the job just as Harper and Troy needed her. Madison is obsessed with Harper, but we don't really get to see why. That whole concept/relationship of Madison and Harper's former friendship really just seems like filler. There's an event involving Madison that serves as the springboard for the bigger plot points, but I felt that the character of Madison was underdeveloped. There is also Christa's best friend, but that also felt underdeveloped and not really necessary to the story. Sometimes I felt that the author over-explained things that should be left to the reader to infer. Good story premise and there were some good parts that piqued my interest, but overall I wasn't as impressed with the book as I hoped I'd be. I'm not sure if I'll go back to read the first one or not. I may just to get that background.

Overall, I felt this was a decent book. The plot was interesting and there was still a good amount of twists to keep reader engaged. Nothing really wow'd me but at the same time, it was good and I was interested til the very last page. I love a binge-able book. This ticks that box, for sure. I really enjoyed getting to see Christa's story continue on and watch things unravel with this new storyline. Also, to read about her with Heather was so sweet.

I did like the first to this series a little more in terms of twists but it was nice to see some of those characters continue their stories. There are some bits I wish were different. For instance, I felt James story fell flat and I don't think the ending did him justice. A few of the other bits has interesting outcomes as well. I just felt more time could have been spent on each of the characters/their stories. I would have loved to read POV from other characters, even if not the whole time. A few random chapter from some of the characters would have been an amazing touch.

I think this book would fall around the 3.5-4 star range for me. I would recommend this series, though. These were fun, twisty, and entertaining reasd.
