I really enjoyed this book and I thank LG Davis, NetGalley and Bookouture for letting me read it before its release!! Available now on KU!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
After the craziness that happened in The New Nanny, Christa returns to work for a new family stateside. The only problem? The husband is her ex and the man who knows where her missing son is! He acts as if he doesn’t know who she is but she knows that he really does. After her 🔫 goes missing, she gets a little skeptical about who she can trust in this town. Her past demons surprise her by showing up and she thinks they’re out to get her and her baby! She has to protect her because she won’t be losing another child! Can Christa find her missing child, save her daughter and get some closure on her past??
After Christa's quest to find her long lost son, she finds herself once again working as a nanny. This time she has a small baby of her own to care for as well as the five year old twins she is employed to look after. The reason she has schemed to get this post is that the twins father is the man who is the father of her long lost son? Will he remember her, or is he still trying to block out their childhood in the cult they were brought up in? The neighbour seems to have taken a dislike to her & Wyatt, the boy she had believed was her son turns up- just how much trouble is she in?
I enjoyed this sequel more than the first book. Opinion is divided as to whether this works as a stand-alone. I suppose it does but I think it is probably better to have read The Nanny first. Thanks to Netgalley & the publisher for letting me read & review this book.
The Nanny's Child is the sequel to The New Nanny and was just as good as the first. I would recommend reading the first book (as it was brilliant) but this one could be read as a stand alone. This one is filled with secrets and lies, twists and turns and I highly recommend it.
Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for my ARC.
This was a fantastic follow up to ‘The New Nanny’! While this was a sequel it could easily be read as a standalone. The author did a great job at explaining details of the first book without spending too much time on said details that readers of the first book would get bored or lose interest. Told in multiple POVs gave plenty of details from different perspectives without giving too much away. As I said in my previous review of the first book L. G. Davis reminds me a lot of Frieda Mcfadden as far as writing styles go, so if you’re a Mcfadden fan you’ll definitely enjoy this book!
A huge thanks to NetGalley & Bookouture for an eARC of this title in exchange for an honest review. Can’t wait to read more books from Davis in the future.
Loved it! Had my heart racing from start to finish. I highly recommend this book and I really enjoyed this book. The writing style was easy to read. Great character development! I’ve never read this author previously but I definitely will add her to my list of awesome authors.
If you’re looking for a real page turner with believable characters then search no more. thor. Superb writing!!
Thankyou to NetGalley, the author and the publisher for allowing me to read this ARC.
I really really enjoy author and I will be reading more in the future.
I really really enjoyed this book! This is the 2nd book in this series and was just as good as the first one!
The short chapters and awesome character development keeps you hooked and keeps you engaged.
I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a thriller.

In the second book, we learn more about Christa and her chilling backstory. I think this one was even better than the first, with the nosy neighbour, Madison, in the mix and a character from the first book in the series making an unwelcome appearance. It was tense, unpredictable and engrossing. I couldn't get enough of this one!
This is my second book from this author and it is safe to say I am hooked! I enjoy a Twisted thriller and this one definitely did not disappoint.
I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough with this one. So much suspense and so much going on. Book 2 was just as good as Book 1 and it tied everything up nicely! Very well done!
I read this one in one afternoon with multiple cups of tea it was sooo good
4 stars
This is book two in The Lies We Tell book series, called The Nanny's Child. I received a copy from Bookouture via Netgalley and it came out two days ago, on the 11th of September.
Again, we follow Christa when she embarks on a new adventure with a new family. The reason why she does this is that she received an anonymous note saying that she needed to be a nanny for this family. That is where she would get all the answers she needs. This is where she will finally find her missing son. The son she had to give up. While staying with that new family, history haunts her. Will she be safe and will her young child be safe?
This time we get to know Christa so much more. We get to know who she is and why acts the way she does. In this book we get an explanation for her behaviour that is described in book one as well. There are a few recurring characters that play an important role in the story and the dynamic between the characters is described in great detail. The story evolves around this quest for her missing son and the author managed to turn this into words rather splendidly. This book is, just like book one, filled with action and suspense and together with the overall depth of the story of the characters, it makes for an excellent read.
Hopefully, there will be more stories to come about the nanny.
5/5⭐
This is a duology that kinda just continues not long after the end of The New Nanny. Still focused on Christa with a compelling reason to keep the story going. More secrets and more surprises. Do not read this one if you did not first read book one and definitely go into this one blind too. I read this one immediately after finishing the first and found the story as compelling as the first book. Christa is still our main character and we are introduced to a new group of characters with a couple of hold overs from book 1.
Christa is a single mom to 6-month-old Heather. She applied for and got accepted for a nanny position for Harper and Troy to care for their 7-year-old twin daughters, Ella and Leah. Troy is a pediatrician and Harper is a well-respected woman who runs many charities. Theirs appears to be a loving relationship. Christa is even lucky enough to live in their guest cottage on their property. But Christa is on a mission as she feels that Troy is not who he says he is.
Christa was previously working as a nanny to a teenage boy in Austria. However, that came to a bad ending. Christa’s son was taken from her when she birthed him many years ago and she is intent on finding him. Her first mission was in Austria and now she has other information and just wants to find her son.
Add to the plot a nosy neighbor who keeps an eye on Christa saying she doesn’t trust her and a mentally disturbed young man and you have a recipe for a tense and scary book. I found my heart beating faster the more I read this story. It’s a real nail-biter to say the least. I have found a new and fabulous author in Ms. Davis. Well done! Enjoy!
Copy provided by NetGalley in exchange for a fair and honest review.
Wow I got through this book quick! I did read the first book prior to this but wouldn't say you have to, but it does add to it. This book has got domestic thriller down. It didn't go where i thought it in terms of the last book but I was presently surprised.
Bravo 👏
I look forward to more books to come.
The Nanny's Child is book two in the The Lies We Tell series by L.G. Davis.
An unputdownable and highly entertaining story.
This was a really good story and well written. It was very intense from the start and extremely gripping.
The story line kept me captivated and intrigued me the entire time.
"I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own."
Thank You NetGalley and Bookouture for your generosity and gifting me a copy of this amazing eARC!
This was a sequel to The New Nanny, so I definitely recommend reading that book before this one, for it to make the most sense. With that being said, they are both great stories! I loved being able to continue the story, by reading both books. This book was just as exciting and twisty as the first one! I can't wait to read more by this author.
Now this...THIS...is more like it! The first book "The New Nanny" just didn't live up to what I know Liz Davis can do. Everyone was just a little too weird and it just didn't sit right with me. But this is sooooo much better! Others are saying you can't read this one without reading the first but I say you can. While they do go hand in hand, this one is probably so much more better without the first one. You are given all the information you learn from reading the first book but without all the long-winded faffing about. This one is just so much better and is right up there back to Davis' usual tempo and fine calibre.
The dived straight into this upon finishing and reviewing the first book so everything was still fresh in my memory. The only thing you will really get by reading the first book before this one is a vehement hatred for Wyatt. In this book, he turns up and shows his sinister side but you don't get that true evil like you did in the first book. I wanted to see him get his comeuppance as I found him truly evil and I expected to see him under every rock and around every corner, so when he failed to materialise I wondered whether Davis was gaslighting us into believing what he was capable of.
At the end of the first book, Christa gave birth to a baby girl she named Heather, after returning from her harrowing experience in Austria upon discovering that Wyatt wasn't her missing son she believed him to be. However, the bond she developed with him he refused to relinquish firmly believing she was his mother regardless of what the DNA tests revealed. She fled New York in the hope to put as much distance between her and Wyatt but also because of a note that was left in her mailbox. All it had was a name and an address alongside a note which read "what you are looking for is here."
So now Christa finds herself back in Kentucky not far from where she grew up in the cult from which she escaped as a teenager. The name and address she was given lead her to Troy and Harper Wells, but as soon as Christa walks into their home she knows she is looking at a face from her past. Although he goes by another name now, she would know Brett Lawson anywhere...after all they shared a child together. A child she has travelled the world searching for. A child that was ripped from her when she was locked away for being unfit and unstable. When she returned to the community, her baby was gone. A week later, she escaped with the help of Emily whose family delivered groceries to their community a couple of times a week. She owes Emily her life. But she owes Brett Lawson nothing. She is here only to find out where her child is...and then she will leave.
But nothing is as straightforward as it seems. She came to Esterford and garnered the position of nanny to Troy and Harper's seven year old twin girls Ella and Leah. The family dote on her now six month old daughter Heather who she takes with her whilst nannying the twins. She didn't want to but it isn't long before Christa begins to become attached to the girls and her new life with the Wells. Harper and Troy and the perfect couple, so obviously in love. And they go out of their way to help others, sprinkling kindness and compassion in their wake. They almost seem too good to be true if Christa hadn't seen it with her own eyes. And you know what they say - if it seems too good to be true, then it probably is.
And then there is the proverbial fly in the ointment. Wyatt, you may ask? Well, yes. But someone a little closer to home in Esterford in the form of neighbour Madison Baker. She watches Christa from her window daily as she goes to and from the cottage on the lake that the Wells' have made available for her and Heather. Madison is sure Christa is hiding something and is up to no good and she is determined to find out what. Harper is like a sister to her, her soul sister, and she would do anything to protect her. And if that meant uncovering what their new nanny was up to, then so be it.
But like all good domestic and psychological thrillers, every character is hiding something. We know what Christa is hiding and we're with her all the way, but what about everyone else? Is Troy who Christa believes him to be? Is Harper really whiter than white? And as for Madison...what is really her agenda here? And then there is Wyatt. Like a bad smell he lingers in the background refusing to go away. Is he really determined to harass Christa forever? And above all, does Christa find her son?
So many questions...and so many answers are finally given. Including to those left unanswered in the first book. This book is waaaaaay better than the first and I raced through it at breakneck speed almost devouring it in one sitting if not for the pesky need to sleep. I left an hour to go to finish today and I devoured it, irritated by the slightest noise or interruption that took me away from the unfolding events for even a second. It's that addictive! Easily one of her best. Do you have to read the first book? I don't think so. In fact, as I said, I think it reads better without the first book and leaving what happened in Austria just as a backstory of "what came before" kind of thing.
THE NANNY'S CHILD is so addictive, so engaging and so brilliant it is easily one of Davis' best. She orchestrated some classic twists that even I didn't see coming. It's so twisted, so wicked and so creepy your paranoia will be ramped up along with the palpable tension. Could it be improved? The ending maybe a little twee but who cares? It has closure. Everything has come full circle and at last there is an ending. Does it need a third book? Definitely not. Leave well enough alone. It's perfect as it is.
I would like to thank #LGDavis, #Netgalley and #Bookouture for an ARC of #TheNannysChild in exchange for an honest review.

Thanks to #NetGalley and #Bookouture for the ARC of #TheNannysChild by #LGDavis I loved this way more than I expected to.
A job with a cabin and a paycheck might be the perfect job for a single mom. She's caring for wild twins and dealing with revenge at the same time.
Fabulous.
Thanks to #NetGalley and #Bookouture for the ARC of #TheNannysChild by #LGDavis. The sequel to The New Nanny is absolutely amazing! I loved the continued story of Christa and her search filled with drama, murder, and lies. Highly recommend this 2 book series.
I knew this book was going to be good because I loved the first one . Good quick read with a lot explained from the 1st book .
Thank you Bookouture and NetGalley for providing an advance copy in exchange for an honest review .
Wow Wow Wow! A stunning sequel with plenty of suspense and some chilling twists.
Christa knows who holds the secret to the whereabouts of the baby boy who was taken from her. She may be hiding her true identity, but she’s not the only one; this phenomenal plot is filled with lies, deceit and obsession.
Even better is that alongside the storyline of this book, Christa’s recent past from “The New Nanny”, comes back to haunt her in spectacularly sinister style, so there is a clever intricacy to the plot as the past and present intertwine.
I really enjoyed finding out more of Christa’s backstory, her upbringing and how she took control of her own life.
A blinder of a thriller 👏🏻
5 ⭐️ Thanks to Netgalley, L. G. Davis and Bookouture for an ARC in return for an honest review.
