Christa is given a note with an address, the address is to Troy and Harper Wells residence. With a few calculated decisions she starts working for them taking care of their twins. These characters all have a dark past, Troy a connection to Christa, Harper is trying to cover up the shadow of her past and Madison the nosey neighbour has an obsession with Harper. Christa needs to confront Troy and find out what happened to her baby before anyone gets hurt, but with Wyatt still lurking around anything could go wrong.

This book was another miss for me the inconsistencies from book one carried on in book two.

This set the tone of disappointment for me.

This is the second book in this series. I really enjoyed the first book, so was really excited to read this book. It certainly didnโ€™t disappoint.
I was quickly drawn into the plot and characters, and the twists kept coming. This is a great psychological thriller and Iโ€™d definitely recommend it.

This is the second book in the Lies We Tell series, and it did not disappoint. It's fast-paced and full of twists and turns. It kept me on the edge of my seat. Although I could see some of the twists coming, this was still a very good book. I truly enjoyed it, and I can't wait to read more books by this author.

The nannyโ€™s child is the second book in this series however it could be read as a stand alone if thatโ€™s how you wanted to read it as enough insight from the previous book is given to help you understand the plot, however in my opinion Iโ€™d say itโ€™s definitely worth reading the new nanny first as I think you will get more out of this book.

Christa is determined to find her son, who she was separated from as a baby, and she thinks she may have found the man who can lead her to her son. However Christa comes to Harper and Troyโ€™s home to look after their children with more than one intention.

Christa believe Troy could be the one person who leads her to her long lost son. Complications soon appear as one of Harpers neighbours has suspicions about Christa and isnโ€™t convinced she is who she says she is. Determined to find out the truth about the woman who as been hired by Harper and Troy as their new nanny a private investigator is hired to dig into Christas past, where shocking truths are uncovered.

Christa has also been followed by a ghost from her past, Wyatt. Whom she hoped to never see or hear from again, however when Wyatt turns up Christa fears for her own safety and that of her new baby. Wyatt is a loose cannon and could be about to blow Christas whole world apart.

Will Christa get the answers to her questions before events turn against her?

I was lucky enough to get an early readers copy of both the new nanny and the nannyโ€™s child, which are both released on the same day. I gave the new nanny 4 stars as I felt the ending needed something more, which I think is exactly what I got from the nannyโ€™s child. Iโ€™d definitely recommend reading these books one after the other as that may compensate for what I thought was quite an abrupt ending of the first book with some unanswered questions. And now Iโ€™m hoping that there will be a third book, however at the same time if there isnโ€™t I wonโ€™t be disappointed as I loved the way this book was ended.

Thank you to NetGalley the publisher and the author for an advance copy of this book in exchange for this review.

Now when we meet Krista she is a nanny to twin girls in Kentucky she was hired by Harper and Troy and although they seem like a nice loving family Krista thinks Troy is not who he claims to be and she is there to find out. Unfortunately with her last family in Austria she was wrong and thinking Wyatt was her son and even did a DNA test to prove it itโ€™s too bad Wyatt will not accept this and soon to see signs he still around not to mention she found out about this couple Needing a nanny from an anonymous note left in her mailbox in New York. Soon after arriving she also noticed as their neighbor Madison seems to be a very nosy person and even resorts to following Krista and is not above spreading her lies and innuendos to Sweet Harper. This time around however Krista has more at stake because she has a sweet baby six month old Heather to worry about but it will not stop her from finding out the truth and where and what happened to her newborn son 16 years before. With Madison watching her every move and Wyatt creeping around somewhere she just wants to find out the truth and MoveOn but when she confronts Troy who she knows is Brett he refuses to tell her anything or at least at first he does. Although I didnโ€™t like this book as much as the first one because I felt the story felt forced or not as put together as a first it is still a solid four-star read and it still has twists and surprises and a definite OMG moment at the end. I want to thank Bookoucher and Net Galley for my free arc copy please forgive any mistakes as I am blind and dictate my review.

I totally recommend it. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for this eCopy to review

What a sequel to The Nanny's Lies, it answers many of the questions left open. Christa becomes a nanny again to 2 girls so that she ask their father where her missing child is. Is Troy really Brett? Christa is being watched by Madison who is fixated on the girls' mother Harper. Wyatt also reappears and is just as psycho - no one is safe including Christa's baby girl Heather.

Again there are many secrets revealed and plenty of plot twists to make a gripping story

Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to read the ARC (Advance Reader Copy) of The Nanny's Child (The Lies We Tell Book 2) by L.G. Davis. This book picks right up where the other one left off (The Nanny). It is a continuation and explains some of the questions I had after reading the first one. There are plenty of twists and turns in this novel and it makes you want to keep on reading. So, if you have things to do, wait to read the book when you have plenty of time. I would definitely recommend this book. I gave it a 4 out of s
5 star rating but in actual fact I think it's a 4.5. Enjoy it!

In the first book, The New Nanny, readers are introduced to the main characters Christa and Wyatt. Christa has been desperately searching for her son who was taken away from her when she was younger. She thinks sheโ€™s found him, but in order to get close enough to talk to him, she must become his new nanny. Wyatt isnโ€™t close to his adoptive mother and father, heโ€™s a quiet child whoโ€™s never allowed to leave the home because of the gossip from the townspeople about the last nanny that disappeared. Not only does Christa care for this child, sheโ€™ll do anything to protect him even when tragedy strikes, and the truth is revealed.

In the sequel, The Nannyโ€™s Child, Christa receives an anonymous letter leading her to Harper and Brettโ€™s home. This couple has twin daughters, and surprisingly, the nanny they had just quit. When Christa meets Brett, she suddenly recognizes him as Troy, the man she loved while living in a cult when they were teenagers. Troy is the father of Christaโ€™s son that sheโ€™s been searching for and Troy was one of the last people to see him before he vanished. Troy doesnโ€™t recognize Christa, but he will, when she finds a way to get to him and demand answers. Christa soon finds out that Harper and Brettโ€™s perfect house, with their perfect children, carries deep wounds and deadly secrets. While Christa tries to get close to Brett; the neighbor, Maggie, is creepily spying on her because she has some secrets of her own that she would KILL to keep hidden.

This book brought more spine tingling twists, and brings back one of our most loved characters, Wyatt, but heโ€™s not the quiet and gentle child that he was in the first book. All the questions that ran through my mind after reading The New Nanny were answered, and this heart pounding thriller might bring some tears near the end. ๐Ÿฅฒ

The Lies We Tell #2

I look up at the beautiful woman with perfectly painted red lipstick standing on the front steps of her grand Victorian house. Harper already trusts me to take care of her twins, believes the lies I've told her about where I've come from and how many other mothers have welcomed me into their homes. Then I see the familiar form of her husband. My ex. The man who knows where my own missing baby is.

This book starts off where the first book, The New Nanny, ended. Christa is still looking for her son who was taken from her at birth. This book is just as gripping as uncover more secrets and lies. The story is told from multiple perspectives. The characters are well developed, believable, but not all are likeable. A character from the first book makes an appearance. This is a well written psychological thriller that's filled with suspense, drama, and has a fast pace. We get the answers to some of the questions I had.

I would like to thank #NetGalley #Bookouture and the author #LGDavis for my ARC of #TheNannysChild in exchange for an honest review.

New mother Christa lands a job working for Troy and Harper, as a nanny to their twin girls after their previous nanny suddenly quit.
Christa seems to landed on her feet, with Troy and Harper taking her on even though Christa has her own small child, and giving Christa her own small cottage for her and her child to live in.

But Christa has an ulterior motive for getting this job; sheโ€™s looking for her long lost son who was taken from her 16 years ago - and she thinks Troy has the answers.

The author has written this book really well, with an easy to follow plot and Christa being a likeable character you want a happy ending for.
At first I did think the storyline was going to to the typical way with these nanny books - nanny and husband get to close - but I was pleasantly surprised that it took a different turn.

All in all it was a great book, but it didnโ€™t stand out as different to other thriller books and isnโ€™t a book Iโ€™m still going to be thinking about for days after Iโ€™ve finished.

A great continuing story from the first book.
Found some parts and bit overkill going through things that happened in book 1. But I can see why if it's read as a standalone by some they would understand the story better.
Overall an enjoyable read. With a satisfying ending.

Thanks to the author, the publisher and NetGalley for an early release of this book.

This follows on from book 2 (you cant read it without reading the first one) this answers so many questions and well that was an interesting twist . Not sure on the availability of DNA tests a few years ago but apart from that really worked and was an addictive read. I finished book 1 and immediately had to go onto book 2 so there was my evening gone it was that good.
I wasn't sure about the hype of these books before reading them as often with them I am disappointed - but really wasnt and it does live up to it.

I was given an advance copy by netgalley and Bookouture but the review is entirely my own.

So I received this book as an arc, and Iโ€™m assuming there was a book before it that I should have read first. But this book was pretty good without reading it if so. Itโ€™s a pretty wild story about a nanny that is looking for her son. I donโ€™t wonโ€™t to go deeper into the storyline without giving any spoilers. In the end it all turned out to work out for everyone except for Harper, the childrenโ€™s mother.

This is something Iโ€™ve not come across: this book and the first book in the series, โ€œThe New Nannyโ€ are being released on the same day. I was lucky to get both ARCs, and I gave the first one four stars. Will the sequel live up to the first?

In our first book, Christa was looking for her teenage son when she moved to Austria and became a nanny. She developed a strong bond with the boy she was taking care of, but things took a turn. Weโ€™ll just say, that job didnโ€™t really work out.

Christa is now back in America with her baby, Heather. Now a nanny for twin seven-year-olds, Ella and Leah, she still is on the hunt for her son. Sheโ€™s still the same woman I enjoyed in the first book - the one who canโ€™t sleep past 5am, who takes cold showers, plays chess, only wears black and in my opinion, always leaps before she looks.

This book also takes us through Christa trying to find the son who would now be 16, and gets into the complexities and drama of the new family she works for. As with her first position, things start out great, but soon everything comes crumbling down again. Will she ever find her son? Will she ever get to relax? Iโ€™m definitely now invested in this series, and Iโ€™m going a step above and giving this one 4.5 stars!

(Thank you to Bookouture, L.G. Davis and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my review. This book is slated to be released on September 11, 2023.)

Thank you to #NetGalley, #Bookouture and L. G. Davis for the opportunity to read an advance copy of The Nannyโ€™s Child (The Lies We Tell Book 2), to be published 11 September 2023. This suspenseful tale follows up Book 1 of the series, but in actuality answers many outstanding questions about Christa and her life. Wyatt continues to be in the picture much to the chagrin of Christa and her new baby. The twists and turns continue throughout and one begins to wonder what the truth really is for Christa. 5/5 Stars #NetGalley #Bookouture #L.G.Davis #TheNannyโ€™sChild

This was the perfect follow up to the 1st book! Normally with series I find they can be read as standalone but you really should read the 1st book to get the full story before you go into this one. It's such a multilayered thriller and so cleverly written. I did not see the big twist coming at all!! I also loved that it does feel more like a continuation of the story rather than a sequal where half the time they ignore things that happened in the 1st book but this was a flawless follow up and didn't leave any plot holes

Thank you L.G. Davis, and NetGalley for this e-ARC in exchange for my honest opinion and review.

First things first - this is the second book in The Lies We Tell series. You must read book 1: The New Nanny before going into this one.

Now for the good stuff - This was such a fun follow up to the first book! Although I did like the first one a bit more, this one too had me on the edge of my seat the entire time!

After learning that Wyatt was not in fact her son - Christa finds herself with her daughter in a new town after the events that took place in book 1. This time around - she becomes a nanny for a man named Troy and his wife. Troy knows her, but for some reason is keeping her secret...

This psychological thriller deals with topics of cults, obsessions, suspenseful situations that make your heart POUND, and very complex emotions.

If you love books that keep you on the edge of your seat, and want to dive into the minds of characters - this one is for you!

I was very excited to read this second part, and I was not disappointed, although I gave 5 stars to the first book and preferred it over this one, the reading continues to be super fast, with many surprises, expectation and suspense. I feel like the book focused a little more on the characters' past, and there was a cult involved, which I've realized I'm not a big fan of reading. Notwithstanding the above, it is a book that I would recommend without hesitation. I think I only give it 4 stars because compared to the first one, the twists were a little more predictable, but it's still a very entertaining read and you can't stop reading it until you finish it. I recommend it.

Please read the first book in The Lies we Tell series first called The New Nanny!

โ€œWhen you lose a loved one, you never fully heal, I think. People keep saying time heals all wounds, but I donโ€™t believe it.โ€ Christa has been through so much heartbreak, can she take anymore? This is a book that you wonโ€™t be able to turn the pages fast enough! There is so many twists and lies in this book.

Christa wiggles her way into Harper, Troy, and their twin daughters lives to be the new nanny. Christa knows exactly who Troy is and wants answers, she wonโ€™t stop until she gets what she came for. Unfortunately the nosy neighbor, Madison, makes things difficult. Can Christa finally get the answers to her questions?

Thank you so much to the author L.G. Davis and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read and review this ARC book!
