The second in this little series and it follows on from the first book.
Christa is now a nanny for a second family - but the reason she's there is not why you may think!
You learn more about her past in this book and there are twists, turns and fun moments for sure.
It all concluded pretty nicely in the end.
I cannot believe the twists and turn this book takes.
This series is just 10/10
The characters are so interesting especially with their backstories. Cults, murders, abuse, mental health.
Everything is just done so well and I’ve loved following Christmas story. Expect quite a lot of death, lots of twists and turns and find out the truth of what really happened in Christmas path and how it shapes her future!
Thank you NETGALLEY For the opportunity to read this duology early!
I really, really wanted to like this book. I LOVED the first one and wished it would have ended there instead of a sequel. The writing itself was great and I didn't pick up on any typos. The "twist" was very predictable and I had it figured out half way through. I encourage the author to keep going as I really enjoy their writing style. Like I said, The New Nanny was EXCELLENT!
My expectations were absolutely met! The book was brimming with mystery, intrigue, drama, and unexpected turns. After having a daughter, Christa finds herself back in the world of nannying. However, the true reason behind her return remains shrouded in mystery. As she works for this enigmatic family, their well-guarded secrets gradually come to light—no surprise there. The entrance of the emotionally unstable Wyatt adds yet another layer of complexity, ensuring a rollercoaster ride of plot twists.
While it doesn't seem like a follow-up installment is on the horizon, I must admit I'm a bit sad about that. Nevertheless, the book was an outstanding read, and I savored every single page.
This book started out very strong and had me gripped very early on. I really enjoyed learning about the protagonist and her cult background. I really wanted to know more.
However as I got into the last third, it fell flat. The big reveal left me wanting. I didn't understand the murderer's motivations. The transformation was not thoroughly explained. Another character who was a total jerk in the beginning totally flipped at the end and confessed to all his crimes which was a head-scratcher. Why did he do that? Beats me.
The characters could have been better fleshed out. The entire story was somewhat disjointed to me.
Having said that, the pacing was good and I really enjoyed the author's writing style. She writes in vivid language that paints a picture.
Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for a free copy of the book.
This is the second book in The Lies We Tell series and it was just as gripping as the first. We uncover more secrets and learn more about Christa's past - keeping the reader on their toes throughout.
'Troy may not remember me... but I know him. And I'm here to find out the truth'.
Following on from the first book, Christa wants to find her missing child - and now she has potentially found her ex-boyfriend, Troy - the man that will know what happened to her son.
Working as a nanny in her ex-boyfriends house, hoping he doesn't recognise her, Christa works to get close to Troy and his wife, Harper. But there's also a nosy neighbour, Madison - she's suspicious of Christa showing up out of the blue, and is trying to uncover her secrets.
There's also a reappearance of a dangerous character from book 1, but when a murder occurs - all signs point to Christa. Was it Christa, or did someone else have motive to murder?

I thoroughly enjoyed book 1 and thoroughly enjoyed book 2! The tension keeps you on your toes throughout, trying to uncover various mysteries. Questions were answered, and I enjoyed seeing more of Christa's early life and where she came from.
The story is told through multiple POVs which I always enjoy - getting inside the minds of the characters. The story was fast paced and found myself speeding through to uncover the secrets and mystery.
Overall, a great pyschological thriller!
This is exactly how I thought this would be!! Full of mystery, intrigue, drama and plot twists!
Having had a daughter, Christa is back in the nannying game.
What we don’t know is why.
The family she is working for has some secrets - (obviously) and with a visit from mentally unstable Wyatt just keeps the rollercoaster of plot twists coming.
Doesn’t feel like there will be a further instalment - which I am sad about, but it was a brilliant read and I loved every page:
Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for the opportunity to read "The Nanny's Child" in exchange for my honest review.
This book is the follow-up to "The New Nanny" and continues the story of Christa and Wyatt. Christa is now living in Esterford, Kentucky and working as a nanny again. This time for Harper and Troy Wells and their 7 year old twins Leah and Ella. Christa at this point has a 6 month old daughter named Heather. Her father James is in prison in Austria. She told Harper that her husband had died and left her homeless and in debt. Harper being a good person gave her the nanny position and lets her live in a guest cottage with Heather. She has given her many high-end baby items that she is no longer using.
Madison lives across the street from Harper and she doesn't trust the new nanny. Why did Harper hire a nanny who has a baby, why did the old nanny leave so abruptly, why is Christa here? She spies on her and takes pictures to prove to Harper that the nanny is up to no good. She has an unhealthy obsession with Harper - as a designer she is able to replicate Harper's clothes, her coat - she wants them to be "twins".
Christa is still trying to find her son. She was sent a note that said that Troy might hold the answers that she was seeking. She knows that she can't afford to make the same mistakes that she made in Austria. Everything there ended very badly. She is convinced that Troy is really Brett Lawson and the father of her son.
Wyatt is fixated on Christa, he's convinced she's his real mother, even though a DNA test proved that he wasn't. He's slightly unhinged and dangerous to those around Christa. All Wyatt is, is a very disturbed teenager who is also a murderer who killed his previous nanny.
Christa finds Madison in the house and she wonders how she got in. Especially when Ella tells her that their mother told them not to talk to Madison ever again or take any gifts from her. But if they are not friends anymore, why does she still have a spare key? Madison has also hired a private detective to find information on Christa.
Christa follows Troy to a prison where he says he helps out on occasion as a doctor. But really he's visiting his brother Drew - Brett had a brother Drew and the pieces start falling into place for Christa. Many clues point back to the Bluefort Cult where Christa was forced to marry Jonas Lawson the cult leader. Jonas was a child molester. Brett was his son. When Christa had her son, she was declared dangerous and locked up while her son was taken away.
When there is a mysterious death on the street and Christa's scarf is found next to the body, she immediately suspects Wyatt but was it him?
There are brilliant twists and turns at the end. Christa is in danger from someone that the reader would not have been expecting. We also find answers about what really happened to Christa's son.
Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for access to this Arc in exchange for my honest review.
So many twists, so many secrets revealed in the second book ! I was so sad for what she discovered, so sad for Wyatt and something else too. It was an amazing read for me. If there is a 3rd book in the series, I'd run for it !!
This book can be read as a stand alone and another real page turner in this series. The story of Christa continues. After escaping From a cult she only has one thing on her mind. To find out what happened to her son. As I said before another real page turner. Packed to the rafters with tension and suspense and so much more. Once I started reading I found this book impossible to put down and finally turned the last page at 2am. Yes this book is that good. Almost five stars and highly recommended.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the Arc in return for an honest review.

L. G. Davis' The Nanny's Child is the second book in The Lies We Tell Series. Having read the first book in the series, I was even more drawn to this one. Davis' storytelling abilities are truly remarkable, making The Nanny's Child an unforgettable journey into the depths of the human psyche.
Christina is looking for her teenage son who was taken away from her as a baby. When Christina begins working as a nanny for Troy and Harper Wells, her decision to accept this job allows her to nanny twin 9-year-old girls while staying home with her own infant girl, Heather. As she gets to know the family better, she hopes to uncover clues to help her find her long-lost son, but can she find the answers she seeks?
Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for sharing this book with me. One of Davis' captivating writing traits is that she dives deep into her characters. She gives them a complex backstory that adds suspense to the plot. Her attention to detail and narrative weaving make The Nanny's Child a gripping psychological thriller.
I loved The New Nanny and I was so pleased I'd been accepted to read this advanced copy of the sequel. I actually preferred this 2nd book. I would advise reading the first book.
It's a great mystery novel, Christa is still trying to find out what happened to the baby she gave birth to many years previously and is now working for another family to gain the truth.
It's a definite page turner.
It is a bad decision to add this title without reading the first one. I must say that this is still a good read but it did not live up to my expectation. The twist were a bit of a stretch.
Christa takes us on a wild journey with her baby strapped to her as she begin to nanny for the Wells family. Moved by the thrilling reasons that bought her there she is determined to find out who Troy really is. But is it that easy? Well with a crazy nosy neighbor following her everywhere she turns she may have just picked up a new enemy all while trying to figure out what really happened in her past. This book was a thriller that left me on the edge of my seat. I was hooked til the last page. L.G. Davis did not disappoint with this gripping psychological thriller bringing all the twist and turns that readers are sure to love and appreciate!
This thriller had me on the edge of my seat the whole time! I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. So much suspense and drama. I am such a fan of L. G. Davis and all her thrillers! Fantastic book!

I don’t know how, but this sequel is even better than the first! I LOVED this domestic thriller filled with lies, secrets and a murder! I was very surprised to find out who the killer was. The ending, couldn’t have been more perfect, it really tied up the series well!
A huge thank you to L.G. Davis, NetGalley & Bookouture for this ARC! I really enjoyed this fast read!
I read the first one of this series and really enjoyed it. This led to me requesting the sequel. I enjoyed this one just as much as the first one. Thanks Netgalley for the early copy.
Do yourself a favor. Don't read the blurb. Go into this blind. Come back and read about it AFTER you read the book. Trust me. You will thank me. 😂😂
This was book was gold. LG Davis is one of my new favorite thriller authors. I don't want to spoil anything, but this book was so full of intrigue and plot twists I didn't see coming. Phenomenal, delicious, the buildup and the questions. Loved this so much! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the advanced digital reader's copy (ARC) in exchange for an honest review!
Thank you again for this book! I loved the first one and I loved this one too. It kept my heart racing and intrigued the entire time. I loved all of the twists and did not know what was going to happen next. I would definitely recommend this book!
Great! I liked this one even more than the first. L.G. Davis writes well. Her books, with short chapters and descriptive passages, are fast reads because they’re hard to put down. I always look forward to reading her books..
The Nanny’s Child could be read as a standalone but I’m glad that I read The New Nanny (part 1) and enjoyed it first.
Thank You to NetGalley, Bookouture, and L.G. Davis for the opportunity to read and enjoy this ARC.
