Downloaded for the 2024 Hugo Award voting packet. I will update reviews on goodreads as I complete the books.

I love Seanen and everything she writes. I will forever love Toby, also love the narrator on the audio of this series.

"The Unkindest Tide" was a great continuation in the series. It had everything one might expect in an October Daye novel: magic, faerie culture and history, lots of blood, political intrigue, loyalty, etc. Honestly, I had lost track of some of the characters since I last read a book in this series, but fortunately, the characters were suitably re-introduced helping me to remember. This was definitely a fun adventure book. I enjoyed the new setting and new "firstborn" characters. I am also really looking for to starting the next book in the series.
I thank the publisher and author for kindly providing a temporary electronic review of this novel.
