A pretty standard romance, but still fun. A heartbroken woman escapes to work a winter season at a Swiss chalet and makes friends and finds romance. Decent story and good characters, plus lots of wine and food talk. I enjoyed it.

I received this book from NetGalley.

If you're looking for a feel good, quick read then this might be the book for you. It reads really well and it's quick to get through, while actually being a good read.

Overall, the characters are likeable and there aren't too many misunderstandings - they annoy me so much in most books.

The one thing that got to me in the book was Holly not clicking that there is absolutely no way that Luca would know all of the things that she liked - she must have known that at the very least the information would have been fed to him. Another part is Holly even starting something with Luca in the first place. Aside from being unprofessional, it also resulted in her friends having to serve her and do extra work - something else that isn't fair and I think that was the worst part for me.

While I want to be upset with Holly for not clicking about Xavier and his feelings sooner, she has no idea that he wasn't actually married (only legally) and it actually gives her points that she doesn't go for him.

Overall, a good read.

After a devastating break-up, Holly gets the chance of a lifetime to work at a Swiss Chalet for four months. While there, she meets an interesting cast of characters and makes friends with the other employees. She also breaks out of her comfort zone by snowboarding and skiing, all while honing her skills with wine and cooking.

I had mixed reactions to this book. It was a bit more drama than I was expecting (and you know I’m not a huge fan of drama). But if you like more drama in your books, check this one out!

Thanks to NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review. Watch for Escape to the Swiss Chalet to come out November 9, 2023.

A brilliant first book. The opening was lovely and sad. The story was great . Read in one sitting . Loved all the food descriptions. Learning to ski and snowboard were fun. Just a great feel good read set up in a lovely part of Switzerland . Much enjoyed

I love the idea of when your life is in upheaval just going off the grid and starting fresh somewhere new. This has rom com all over it! So excited for this one and can't wait to share a full review and thoughts. So excited for the adventures of the Swiss Chalet as well as handsome Xavier. I know our readers are going to live this one as well! I'm getting Elle Woods vibes! Swiss Chalet used to be the name of a restaurant I went to with my grandmother when I was a young girl so that made me extra want to check out this title as well!
