Children’s picture book with a fun story, and excellently drawn and matched art work. But more: the story is about looking after the environment, thinking out the box and girls and women succeeding in stem/science. This is a book for all book shelves in homes, libraries and schools. (Also, I learned something new about toads. Nice.) Thank you to Globe Pequot and NetGalley for the ARC. The views expressed are all mine, freely given.
A cute book about Mya, a girl who loves science. After she stumbles upon some toads who need a new home, she becomes determined to build one for them. She gets help from her teacher Miss Russell. I thought overall this was really cute and had a great message! I just wish the bugs the roads ate at the end were mosquitos or hornets or something instead of bees (just because bees are so endangered!)
