This is a good book. The two main characters are Teagan and Adrian. Teagan is a paramedic and part cook at her dad’s bar. Adrian is a chef. Adrian is driving home on his motorcycle when a car clips him. There is a wreck. The paramedics are called. Teagan comes and checks Adrian out. He has a broke arm. He can’t go back to work. He finds out Teagan needs help at the bar. There is an attraction. They start dating. They fall in love.

It’s the fourth full-length book in the “Pine Mountain” series and each book follows a different couple in an interconnected way. The story was pretty straightforward with a slow-burn romance between Adrian and Teagan. I think it’s the first book I read where the mains are chefs and it all will be mainly about the kitchen and yummy foods and bonding around it. I liked the way it all turned out.

The background of Adrian was dicey at best and Teagan’s hate for cooking made a good combination. The chemistry was intense but the build-up is slow and that makes the story a bit stretched out. I liked the start but somewhere in the middle it felt a little unnecessary and the ending was fast. I would have wanted a chapter more in the end but it ended just after everything went ok.

Fire Me Up by Kimberly Kincaid

Although this is part of a series it can be read as a stand alone. I really felt that this book had a bit of everything going for it, suspense, crime and romance so something for everyone. This story had plenty of heat, but also plenty of backstory from the characters which just added to their passion. I found this a great book to pick up and put down when I had a few minutes here and there to read. Thanks so much Netgalley and author for this e-arc in return for my honest thoughts and opinions.

The book revolves around Adrian, a chef, and Teagan, a paramedic who also works at her father's pub. Teagan is dedicated to her job and caring for her father, while Adrian's life revolves around cooking until an injury sidelines him. Fate brings them together, and they bond over cooking, discovering a strong chemistry between them. The story skillfully integrates food and cooking, with the characters' shared moments in the kitchen standing out. Despite some predictable and far-fetched elements, the well-written narrative keeps the focus and engages the reader throughout.

I really enjoyed this story - steamy, angsty and suspenseful - I found my self unable to put it down until I finished. This was my first book by this author, and I'll definitely be looking for more.

Kimberly Kincaid writes a romance with a bad boy and a firey female who doesn't want anyone help. The author has a fun sharp dialogue that keeps readers entertained.

Fire Me Up has a lot of steamy romance that readers should be warned about before starting the book. While it is book 5 in the Pine Mountain series the author keeps readers up to date on everyone in the pervious series.

Thank you Netgalley

This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.

This is my first book in the series so while I enjoyed Teagan and Adrian's story, I want to go back and read the previous books with Carly and see what drama was going on there! While it is touched on, I love to get into the whole story.

I loved that Teagan is there when Adrian has his accident and wipes out on his bike. Then, when Carly tells Adrian he can't work, you can see that is a major problem for him! His whole life is cooking and he just doesn't see that as a problem.

Then, Teagan is thrown out of her comfort zone and has to help her father at the bar and she does not want to be anywhere near a kitchen - bad memories which will be revealed as the book goes on.

Those two are just sizzling with chemistry and I loved all the drama going on in the background when Teagan learns what her father has got into and love that Adrian is there to help her yet again!

What can I say - lots of drama, action, and so much romance!

This is a very emotional book which is soooo relatable that you would forget that you are even reading. The forbidden love, self growth and discovery, along with the suspense of not knowing what's going to happen next keeps you at the edge of your seat throughout the book.

I just wish it had a few extra chapters to conclude the ending for Adrian and Teagan.

“Fire Me Up” by Kimberly Kincaid will keep you entertained from beginning to end. This book is the fourth story in the “Pine Mountain Series” and it should be noted Fire Me Up is an updated version of the originally published in story from 2015. This edition has been edited and updated for readability and added steam. I enjoyed this book and fell in love with the MCs Adrian and Teagan along with some of the supporting characters and will be checking out their stories in the future. I am a sucker for the forced proximity trope and when an author includes amazing banter between the MCs, sizzling chemistry, an intriguing plot, and believable backgrounds - I am known to binge read those series. Kincaid had done all of these things and more! 😉 The pace in this story is smooth without any dragging or time jumps. Seeing these two MCs break down their walls, overcoming their hang ups, and falling in love - wonderful.

I recommend this story to all lovers of romance.

4.5 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨

Adrian has a checkered past. He keeps to himself and works non-stop to stay out of trouble. When he is involved in a car accident, his entire world changes. But are those changes for the better or will he end up back in prison? Teagan loves being a paramedic. When she realizes that her father needs help both personally and with his business, she takes on the challenge with all of her energy. She doesn't count on having the help of a grumpy, closed off chef. Can the two of them save her father's business? Will they find lasting love, or will Adrian be taken from her before their relationship even has the chance to get started?

I really thought I would love this story from start to finish but unfortunately it just fell flat. Adrian has a good backstory. I felt bad when the reason he was in prison was finally revealed. I wanted to connect with Adrian's frustration with his parole, but I didn't understand why he had put up with the garbage he was being given without getting the help of his attorney. I never fully understood why Carly forced Adrian to take a leave of absence following his accident when she knew full well that his parole was nearly done. Teagan made good choices where her career and her father's business were concerned. I could accept that she would be naive about the actions of the bad guy but it got on my nerves a little bit. I felt like she ended the story as she began even though the author tried to set up that Teagan had changed so much. I felt like the side characters didn't really add anything to the story. In the end, this story could have been a lot shorter and still told the story. I found myself getting distracted while reading because it just seemed to drone on.

This is a contemporary romance . Both characters are adults with careers. I have enjoyed this series up to this point. I will read more from this author because I generally really enjoy her books. I am giving this a 3 star review instead of a 2 star review because I think this will appeal to a lot of readers even if it didn't connect with me.

My first read from this author and the fifth book in the Pine Mountain series but Fire Me Up can easily be read as a standalone. After breaking his arm and being unable to work, bad boy chef Adrian falls for paramedic Teagan, after he takes on the task of teaching her some cooking skills. Teagan is a woman who under normal circumstances would have no interest in learning how to cook but since her father needs help in his pub, she has little choice but isn’t long before more than the grill is sizzling in the kitchen.

This was a well written book with a steady flow to the story and enough twists and turns to keep me engaged. The characters were likeable with some great dialogue and strong chemistry between the hero and heroine and there was a good pace to their romance allowing their relationship to develop without seeming overly rushed. Definitely an author I’d be happy to read again.

I thought that this book had a really good storyline and well-developed characters.

There was plenty going on in the book and it was quite a ride to actually get to the ending, but I did think that the ending itself was a little abrupt. It was a good ending though and really suited the story.

The book had action, romance and was a sexy story.

It is 4 stars from me for this one – highly recommended!

This is a hot read. I loved Teagan and Adrian's interactions with each other. These are two strong people. So strong that they see falling in love as a weakness. Read this book.

this book had a lot of my favorite tropes:

🔥 forced proximity
🔥 dark past
🔥 workplace romance

Adrian and Teagan's connection was intense from the start, and I really enjoyed seeing them break down their own mental walls for each other. Some of the dialogue and nicknames were a bit cliche, but not overly so. The banter was so good (romance books need good banter, otherwise what's the point), the plot was believable and fun, and the conflicts were exciting to read. This is my first book by this author, but I might just have to check out the other books in this series since I got attached to Jesse!

Thanks so much NetGalley and Kimberly Kincaid for the ARC of this book ◡̈

Fire me up ( Pine Mountain Book 5)

📚💕⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💕📚

Can they heat up forever?

Oh boy do Teagan and Adrian have some serious chemistry and it was so fun to watch (imagine them as I read the book) them crash head head first into something amazing. The authors writing flawless and the words are so captivating, the plot had so many twists and turns and none that I was expecting, and many shockingly intimate I have become a huge fan of this author. The author writes with so much intensity and emotion pulled from each book it’s felt page after page. Some are quick witted story lines are so perfect and lets you believe you have a front row seat. So being able to read this love story didn’t disappoint. The authors ability to have two separate individuals struggling in their everyday life and try to navigate someone else’s thoughts, needs and desires was intense and gives all the fills.

One bad-boy chef with a broken arm and a head full of bad memories.

One tough as nails kitchen-phobe who has to run her father’s pub with no notice, no cash, and no room for error.

One reluctant deal that keeps him in the kitchen and her out of hot water.

Mix well and see if these two can stand the heat in the kitchen.

Serve with a side of workplace romance, forced proximity, scorching hot banter, and a sexy, hard-won happily ever after.

This book has everything I love in a book. Then you add that it's beautifully written and believable. It is easily a five star read. Written in dual POV my personal favorite this story flows so incredibly well that the next thing you know your 80% into the book and loving every second of it. The believable way the characters interact is perfect. Run, Hop, Jump or use your (1 click) finger to do whatever you have to do and get this amazing book. It'll break your heart, you'll want to scream with frustration and it'll let you discover that love just might conquer all. The chemistry is steamy and sweet and oh so romantic.

Thanks Netgally for letting me read and review.📚💕

Bad boy chef Adrian gets in a bad scrape from a motorcycle accident, and gets his backside handed to him by the fiery red-headed paramedic Teagan in this next installment from the Pine Mountain series. Kitchen romance served up spicy! 🌶️

I loved how Adrian and Teagan's banter and their give-and-take slowly broke down each other's walls as they learned to trust each other. The ending is a bit predictable, but still a fun read! Teagan is one of my favorite heroines. ❤️

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the advanced digital reader's copy (ARC) in exchange for an honest review!

After getting clipped by a minivan and leaving his Harley in pieces on the highway, sous-chef Adrian Holt is given a mandatory six weeks off to heal his broken arm. Unfortunately for him, he is a man in need of a kitchen to run and is having a tough time of it.
After paramedic Teagan O’Malley’s father passes out in front of her while she is with him at the Double Shot Bar and Grill, their family business, she discovers he has serious health issues, and his doctor has ordered him to rest until further notice. Add to that, the bar’s cook has just quit leaving her in a fix. And that is just the beginning of issues she has to face concerning the bar.
Needing food and finding the grocery store closed, Adrian finds the Double Shot Bar and Grill open and Teagan in need of a chef. Here he stands… a chef in need of a kitchen. He offers to help her with the kitchen if she will allow him to work there for free. Making sure the business is on the up and up first, Adrian does what he can to help. When Teagan finds out how much trouble the bar is really in, she will do whatever she can to set it right and plans to do it on her own. Only it appears Adrian turns out to be there for the long haul.
I received this arc from Netgalley in lieu of this review, which is my own. I will definitely be reading more books from Kimberly Kincaid and highly recommend Fire Me Up.
