This is a collection of four ghost stories that take place during the winter. The first one was good. I was on my toes the whole story and I really liked it. The second story felt like I was reading a poem which really isn't for me when I'm reading a horror anthology. I don't want poems, I want short stories. The third and fourth stories I thought were decent but they weren't really all that scary or chill-inducing. These are good stories if you’re just getting into ghost stories. I think my oldest daughter who is just getting into horror would probably really like these, they just didn't give me everything I was looking for so I'd probably give this a 2.5-star rating.

This is the perfect read if you're sitting home alone on a cold, winter night and don't want to invest in one long story. While I was hoping for a little more "scare factor" out of these, I thoroughly enjoyed the stories. It was a fun, quick read and perfect for the cold winter months!

I don't see this as the books problem, but more of a me problem, i have come to realize i don't like story collections because not all of the stories are good all the time, and i have to suffer through the bad ones to get to the other good ones,

Unfortunately, this just wasn’t for me. I didn’t find the stories very chilling or interesting. There wasn’t anything new being offered. The second story was overly flowery purple prose that made it tedious to read. The last story was repetitive and didn’t feel very original and just kind of...ended. Just not my cup of tea, but maybe others will enjoy.

I really enjoy short stories sometimes, and this book did not disappoint. It helped me get out of a recent reading slump during spooky season. Many great authors works are in this volume and you will not regret picking this book a try. Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for a chance to read this e-arc.

Winter Chills Volume 2 is a collection of spooky stories perfect for a cold fall or winter night. I was excited to read this ARC for spooky season, and while it was not huge on scares, it was big on atmospheric chills. I particularly enjoyed the last story, Dead Air by Dan MacDonald. That story had me looking over my shoulder at the dark corners of the room.

If you love a spooky, cozy, and atmospheric book, I would definitely recommend Winter Chills Volume 2. If you are looking for something terrifying and gory, this is not the book for you. Thank you to Netgalley and 8N Publishing LLC for the opportunity to review this ARC.

Winter Chills Vol 2 is a collection of four short stories set in winter/fall. A widow in Alaska. A woman looking to break a spell. A ghost tour. A man that hears dead people.

I think the first & last stories were the strongest but none of them really gave me chills. Some weren’t even that ghostly!

This is a collection of short stories that are all very atmospheric and unique. They are all chilling thrills with a chilled setting. All of them were very intriguing and overall spooky reads by very talented authors, but my personal favorite was the first story in the collection: She Gives Me Light by A.Q. Hart. That story is one that will stick with me for some time.

She Gives Me Light by A.Q. Hart- A woman reveals a mysterious sigil beneath her floorboards, sending her on a scavenger hunt around her house looking for clues to determine the source of the madness.

Tipping Points by Layne Adamsson - The deadly impacts of climate change.

All That Glitters by S.J. Lomas - A skeptic goes on a ghost hunt with a group of friends, but is the only one to hear or see any paranormal activity, and therefore targeted by the specter.

Dead Air by Dan MacDonald - A man has the ability to hear voices from another realm, and decides to hone in on them when he hears a voice reaching out to him.

Because it's getting cold out and everyone needs to catch a chill this winter!

This was not a bad anthology per se, I enjoyed most of the stories, but I have to admit no story provoked strong emotion in me or left a mark. Dan MacDonald’s story, “Dead Air” came close, but unfortunately the simple writing left me cold (pun intended!). That said, all stories had great pace and enjoyable twists, though nothing too original or extreme, and so nothing really to write home about. The settings were chilling (as they should be!), the tales were easy to read, but I doubt their intended audience are people who’ve read a lot of horror.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It started out a little slow and less spooky than I was hoping for, but the last story in this volume more than made up for it. It is a great quick read for the Fall!

It was an easy to read collection. There wasn't a single story that I did NOT like. Would definitey read another collection!

This horror anthology left me with chills. The authors did an excellent job of building tension and suspense, and I found myself on the edge of my seat throughout the book. You think you know which direction the stories are going in - and you may be correct - but some twists make them play out differently than you might expect. The collection has four different stories, all of which complement each other in keeping the book feeling varied and not monotonous. The stories take more of an occultist spin than I usually prefer, but they are still enjoyable regardless. If you are the type to enjoy spooky wintertime stories, give this one a read. If you are scared easily, keep a light on!

I love short stories and anthologies. Even the best author must flex their writing skills to deliver quality short stories. In less than a usual chapter length, they must introduce us to the characters and their communities/ back stories, commit to an "event" and then solve it, all while keeping the reader engrossed and flipping pages. I often find that an author will switch genres in an anthology, which gives me an even better appreciation for their talent.

I had not read the back library from any of these writers which was a surprise. I'm an avid reader and regularly search for new to me authors. WINTER CHILLS sets each story in a cold, wintry setting, but each has a different tone/ feel that they used to skillfully pull me into the story. It's over 100 degrees outside but I still got the shivers. As short stories, you can read each in one sitting. Make no mistake, these authors know their craft and have now joined some of their better know brethern on my TBR list.

As promised, this story collection delivers chills. Four dark tales from different authors, for fans of the supernatural. One of the stories was too “lyrical” for me, but the other three were five star reads. She Gives me Light, by A. Q. Hart is probably the darkest. I wasn’t sure what was going to happen and was pleasantly surprised by the ending. All That Glitters by S.J. Lomas was more lighthearted, with an element of romance. Dead Air by Dan MacDonald is probably the creepiest. Tipping Points, by Layne Adamsson, is more of an apocalyptic tale that was not for me. I devoured this volume; it is full of interesting characters, which is harder to achieve when you only have a few pages versus a full-length narrative. All the tales are also very atmospheric, integrating the wintry landscapes into the story.

Not scary. Did not give me the chills.

This is a collection of four ghost stories that take place during the winter.

The first one was good. I was on my toes the whole entire story and really liked it. The second story… I Skipped. I felt like I was really poem and got bored of it.

The third and fourth stories I read but I wasn’t scared or got the chills. These are good stories if you’re just getting into ghost stories.

I give this a rating of SPOOKTACULAR .I loved it. Thank you so much for the ARC It was a good read.

This set of short stories were not it for me. I wasn’t hooked with any of them. That is not a judgement on the authors or their work, just how I felt after finishing reading the anthology.

Heart pounding thriller that left me on the edge of my seat. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this one. Definitely one of the best books this year.

This collection of short stories is perfect if you are looking for good fall/ winter vibes. My personal favorites were the first and the last stories of the collection, A. Q Hart’s: She gives me light and Dan Macdonald’s: Dead Air.

Like most short story collections there are some good stories, and some that are less so. However, what I think they all accomplish very well is that they all have a great atmosphere, where you can just feel the cold and eerie feelings coming off the pages when reading.

If you’re looking for an easy read to keep you company during cold nights, I recommend you give this collection a try, as you will certainly not feel alone with these stories.
