4-4.25 stars. This was a good book! Fangirl Down is the first book in her Big Shots series. This is Josephine and Wells's book. Wells is a failing PGA golfer with a grumpy disposition. His game and his life has gone down the tubes. His biggest fan is Josephine. She goes to his tournaments and holds up signs for him, cheering loudly. But when Wells quits golf in a spectacular fashion mid-game, even Josephine goes home. He decides he misses seeing his number one fan and goes to her house, leading to him offering her a job as his caddy and to help him turn his game around. Josephine needs the money to help restore her family's pro shop that was flooded and to pay for her medicine for her diabetes. She is no slouch of a golfer herself and seems to have the magic touch in keeping Wells in line and playing better. Wells, himself, just wants to be around the sunny caddy and is willing to do what she says. His game starts improving and she travels with him to his tournaments, falling for each other along the way.

This was a really good story. Wells was obsessed with Josephine. He was adorably possessive and grumpy, while Jo was sweet and sunny. They had amazing chemistry and both were all-in with each other, without much resistance. They did have to figure out how to make things work when real life can creeping in. The final conflict was a little blown out of proportion to me and I wanted more compromise to avoid it, but I still enjoyed the book. The ending was really cute too. Josephine and Wells were a great couple. Their story was sweet and sexy. I hadn't read a golf romance before so it was unique in that aspect, along with Jo being a heroine with diabetes, which was interesting and different as well.

Overall, Fangirl down was a good book. I really enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to the next book in the series, The Au Pair Affair, which feature's Josephine's friend and Well's friend, who is a pro hockey player.

I have never wanted to watch golf as much as I did when reading this book. Incidentally I was traveling toward a golf tournament and was surrounded by people that could have been Wells and Josephine. It underscored the buzz of the book perfectly. I loved Josephine, I loved the way she and Wells bantered. I love how she was the smart girl in the room, she knew it and knew how take each person down a peg or two to where they deserved to be. I love the way Wells loved her. I love the scenes that are only as hilarious and hot as Tessa Bailey can do well. And you'd better bet that I stopped reading to make sure I could pre-order the next book, and came right back because this book was impossible to put down.

I adored every second of this. Wells and Josephine balance each other out and butt heads all throughout the story. I have always loved Tessa Bailey and this was by far one of the best I've read by her in awhile! I loved how the end of the book gave us a little bit of the beginning of the next one in the series. This was AMAZING. I loved the epilogue so much, it even made me tear up! This was amazing!

This cute sports rom com follows Josephine who owns and run her family golf pro shop in Florida and down and out pro golfer Wells. Josephine is a type 1 diabetic and is having trouble managed the cost of all her medical expense on top of a struggling shop. Wells was once the top golfer but now is completely given up after a string of loses. Everyone has abandoned him and his career except for his biggest fan, Josephine. When Mother Nature give Wells an opportunity to make us for being a jerk to Josephine. He jumps at it offering her a position as his caddy, but the more time they send together the harder it is for Wells to resist his fan.

Tessa bailey has been and will continue to be an Auto buy author for me. Her hero’s and heroine always hit the spot. Fangirl down is no exception. Wells easily makes my top 5 Tessa bailey hero’s. I can’t wait for the next book!

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Format: Audio/E-book

4.25🌟 - I enjoyed it!

Thank you @librofm for the #gifted audio and to @avonbooks for the physical copy!

This was such a silly and fun read! This was my first golf sports romance, and was such a good time! He falls first meets grumpy/sunshine and celebrity romance!

I loved the way Tessa included mental health and chronic illness representation in this book. The characters had so much depth to them, and I loved seeing them come together at the end.

I especially loved this one on audio too! Can’t wait for the next in the series 💘

I was initially uncertain of a sports romance with a golf pro for a hero, but I've learned you should never question Tessa Bailey.

The story overall had a great arch, but what stuck with me and made the pages fly was the chemistry and banter between the characters. This is perfect for those of us who enjoy grumpy sunshine pairings with heroes that are uplifting to the heroine. There are moments of pure hilarity that is so realistic if had me belly laughing and at times feeling their mortification. Fans of Tessa Bailey's Fix Her Up will love this first in a new series. The brief introduction to the leads for the next in the series was enough to have me hooked.

Super cute sports romance about a down-on-his-luck pro golfer and the one fan who refuses to quit on him. Wells Whitaker was once a rising star in the golf world, but lately all his luck has evaporated. His mentor has given up on him and his fans have all left him; all but one, Josephine Doyle, aka Wells' Belle. Josephine runs a pro shop in Palm Beach, and when a hurricane damages the shop, Wells offers Josephine the job of being his caddie on the PGA tour so she can earn cash to repair the shop. This arrangement ends up being beneficial to them both because with Josephine's help, Wells actually starts winning again. This was a fun book. I loved the premise and the message that sometimes all you need is one person to believe in you to make you start believing in yourself.

4.5 Stars. One of the last Tessa Bailey books didn't quite do it for me, but I'm happy to say I'm back on her bandwagon. I've never experienced a sports romance based around golf, but Bailey pulled it off in a swinging fashion. This story had so much going for it. Josephine was super likeable and I loved that she was going to stay a fan of Wells no matter how badly he performed. She believed in him when he no longer believed in himself, and then taught him how to stop self-sabotaging and how to earn his own self-respect back.

The attraction/chemistry between the two was off the charts. Things got really hot really fast, but Wells was always respectful of what Josephine wanted and was willing to hold back if she needed him to. Josephine suffers from Type 1 Diabetes, but Wells was always able to balance his concern for her with giving her her space and trusting her to take care of herself. He earned her love with that alone.

I think he fell first (she'd always had a crush on him). When he fell, he fell like a load of bricks. It was really cute. The banter between the two and then between him and his "friends" added so much to the story. It really showed his vulnerability.

If you haven't figured it out yet, I loved this story. A+ for banter. Steam is about a 3 out of 5.

Thanks to Avon and Harper Voyager US and NetGalley. All thoughts are my own.

Fangirl Down by Tessa Bailey ⛳️

My new favorite Tessa Bailey book. I played golf in college so when I saw that Tessa was going to write a golf romance I knew it was my time to shine. If I were going to trust anyone to write a hot golf romance it’s her. And oh boy did this one meet my expectations! Golf is hot alright? Look up Brooks Koepka and imagine him as you are reading for Wells. You can thank me later.

Wells was the hottest rising star in professional golf until things went downhill. Now he only has one dedicated supporter, Josephine, who refers to herself as Wells's Belle. Always there cheering him on no matter how bad he performs. Until one day he unexpectedly quits and Wells is left without his fangirl. He realizes it was a mistake and shows up at her door determined to get back on the tour with her help. He proposes for her to become his caddy and help turn his golf game around. The proposal is too good for Josephine to resist, she gets to spend time getting to know Wells plus earn some much needed cash to help fix the pro shop she owns.

I knew going into this that I'd need to suspend some belief around the golf aspects. Would someone be able to just become someone's caddy like Josephine did? Probably not. Was it fun and did I love every part of it? Absolutely. I really liked how while Josephine is known as Wells's fangirl, she is super knowledgeable about the sport. She runs a pro shop she inherited from her parents and plays golf herself. She's able to actually help Wells with anything he needs. I think this helps with making the fangirl-ness less creepy, if you will.

I absolutely adored these two. Wells is the grumpy guy who is soft for only her. He falls first, hard, and fast. There's so many little moments and actions he does to make sure she fells comfortable and safe. They had hilarious banter on and off the golf course. Their attraction nicely builds up starting with small touches until neither of them can deny it anymore.

The perfect balance of laughs, spice, and romance. I can't wait to re-read the heck out of this.

Don't hate on me for this but I have to say, this if my first Tessa Bailey book and I have to say, I loved it! I will absolutely be going back to pick up her other books as this one had my attention from page one and I couldn't wait to see how things panned out for these characters.

Wells Whitaker is on his way to being a has been in the golf world. At one point he was a rising star but lately all he can claim is a bad reputation and one final supporter. No matter what, the redhead on the sidelines is there cheering him on until the day he finally burns that bridge and doesn't know what to do.

Josephine Doyle has been Wells' biggest fan since day one. Even though he's grumpy and doesn't believe in himself, she's there cheering him on. That is, until the day he decides to go out in a blaze of glory and Josephine decides she needs to put her attention on other things but when he shows up out of the blue with a proposal to her to be his new caddy and help him turn his game around, she decides to consider it. She could use the prize money (if he can win) and it could be a good thing for her so she says yes.

When Wells and Josephine start spending more time together and truly getting to know each other, sparks start to fly. They are drawn to one another and truly want what is best for each other...even if that means they have to call their partnership quits sooner than expected.

I have to say, I loved how the relationship developed between these two. He's a bit of a loner and she's close to her friends and family so there's a bit of an opposites attract flow going on here. It turns out Josephine is good for Wells and helps him get his head on straight so he can show the world what he is capable of and I loved every minute of this book. Consider picking this up if you're looking for something that will pull you in to the very end and I'll definitely be picking up the next book in this series because I can't wait to see what happens with Tallulah and Burgess.

Josephine is Wells’ (golf) fangirl, she’s there for every game cheering him on until something happens that makes her want to not be his fangirl anymore. wells suddenly misses her cheering for him and goes looking for her, since Josephine is having a hard time after her family’s golf shop gets destroyed and she needs money for her insulin and repairs, Wells offers her a job as his caddie on the PGA Tour. she infuriates and confuses the hell out of him and he just falls widely in love with her. I am telling you that the way they hit it off was honestly so hot to read, this is the biggest he falls first and hard trope rep ever. on top of that, he’s a grump who’s only source of happiness is her!! like? yes?! I love that he hates the entire world but her.

There's no better word to describe "Fangirl Down" than FUN. Yes, there are lots of other words I can add in that are quintessential Tessa Bailey - steamy, funny, cringey - but this was definitely one of my favorites of hers in recent memory, maybe since the Bellinger sisters? I also really liked that for a sports romance, it wasn't your "typical" sport. I was also pleasantly surprised by Josephine. I was a little hesitant of the fangirl element and what kind of character she would be, just from the synopsis, but she was such a strong female MC and I loved how competent she was. I'm definitely looking forward to what else Bailey has planned for her Big Shots series.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for the eARC in exchange for an honest reivew.

Who knew I was into sports romances? Not me.

This does take a certain amount of suspension of disbelief, but it was a fun, enjoyable romance. I loved following Josephine and Wells, both their journeys together and apart. Their struggles are real and they’re so easy to root for. Josephine is doing her best to maintain her independence and wants to realize her dreams, while Wells self-sabotages and lashes out when people leave. His growth, especially, was touching.

Absolutely loved this book, pure definition of grumpy/sunshine trope! By far one of my favorite Tess Bailey books.

Fangirl Down by Tessa Bailey, book one in her Big Shots series, is heartwarming, humorous, flirty and sizzling; with wonderful but troubled characters. Josephine and Wells go through the wringer: Wells with his fledgling golf career and Josephine with her financial and health struggles. Wells was a grumpy, cranky, protective, cinnamon roll, while Josephine was a breath of fresh air, especially when in comparison to Wells; opposites yet they perfectly fit together. This story was perfect, from start to finish, everything you could want in a Tessa Bailey romcom.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

I'm not gonna lie... I wasn't sure if I would like this one. I love sports romance... but golf romance?! I was worried I would be as entertained by this book as I am by golf... spoiler alert golf puts me to sleep. I was absolutely wrong because I loved it. Here's what you get...

• Grumpy sunshine
• He falls first
• Forced Proximity

I feel like out of all Tessa's books It Happened One Summer has the most love and hype... and I'm telling you I liked that one... but this one is even better.

Wells and Josephine were amazing. I love the banter and arguing. The spice was off the charts. The way Wells supported Josephine without holding her back had me swooning. This book series gave me all the feels. I absolutely love Wells. He definitely deserves a spot on the Book Boyfriend Hall of Fame.

If you love sports romance, I definitely recommend picking this one up. It's a unique take on the genre that was so well done. Sooo worth it!

I know you have been seeing this book everywhere, but GUYS—THERE’s A REASON FOR IT!

Like a large percentage of us out there, golf is not the sport that gets your engine revving, but hold on to your golf whites because Tessa Bailey is coming at you with the hottest couple out there on the green. I loved every minute of this book. So much that I just wanted to stretch it out as long as possible.
Read if you like:
🏌️‍♂️ Dirty dirty talk
🏌️‍♂️Grumpy Sunshine where he can only stand to be around her
🏌️‍♂️Type 1 Diabetes representation
🏌️‍♂️ Touch her and die vibes
🏌️‍♂️An honestly lovely heroine you just want good things to happen to
🏌️‍♂️Ponytail fetish and 🍑 play, and a hero that lives to please, aka STEAMY
🏌️‍♂️Funny laugh out loud banter
🏌️‍♂️Fast-paced
🏌️‍♂️Two people who see the best in each other and want to build the other up

There are so many scenes that will live rent free in my head and I found myself wanting to text my book besties constantly, only remembering belatedly that I was reading this as an early copy. Not only is this book over the top steamy, but I loved Wells and Josephine so so much. The way he just wants to protect her, but still lets her breathe. And the amount of faith she has in him, when no one else does…it’s just the most beautiful story of a golfer and his unlikely fan turned caddie falling in love. I laughed so much while reading this, but it is unbelievably swoon-worthy too and there’s even a scene where I teared up…never didn’t expect that from a sports romance. If ever there was a couple fated to be together, it’s Wells and Josephine. Ms. Bailey is at her absolute best pulling out all the stops to make you fall head over heels for these two. And the set up for her next book in this duology has me definitely salivating for more, hopefully with peeks of these two. Thank you to Avon for my advanced copy. All opinions are my own.

Ok, this was a DELIGHT.

* golf romance
* pro-golfer / GIRL caddy!!
* Dual POV
* forced proximity
* grumpy / sunshine
* great banter

There was so much to enjoy about this! As a golfer, this was just such a fun environment to have a romance set it! I enjoyed the banter between Wells and Josephine and how hard he fell for this kickass golfer who righted his ship and made him start to FEEL again. Their chemistry was amazing and I loved that she was his person who grounded him.

I will say though, I wasn't fully invested in the beginning - I feel like the story started off a bit quickly and little bit more character development would have gone a long way - but besides that, 25% onward, I loved it!

Thank you to NetGalley and Avon for an e-ARC of this book - all opinions are my own!
