I am a big Tessa Bailey fan and love that she finally wrote a sports romance. It is a fun, fast read and really enjoyed the characters, especially the FMC. Many thanks to NetGalley and Harper Voyager/Avon for sharing this ARC with me in exchange for my honest thoughts.

Wells realized that he had a heart!

Professional golfer Wells Whitaker had been burning the bridges of his once promising golf career and losing his sole remaining fan Josephine Doyle when he quit the tour. But Wells found the tiniest bit of a heart when he noticed that a severe hurricane had a direct hit where Josephine lived. Wells asked her to be his caddy so she could earn enough money for repairs to the golf shop that her family owned and hopefully get back on an insurance plan because of her type 1 diabetes.

I loved how Josephine turned around Wells’ game and got him to love golf as much as he was in love with her after realizing he wasn’t as much as a jerk as everyone thought he was.

P.S. Tessa Bailey made me like golf!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from the author and NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

A new favorite from Tessa Bailey! I loved the Bellinger Sisters series, but this one may have topped it! Very cute and fun—you don't have to be a golf fan to enjoy this.

Read this if you like:
•A man with tattoos
•Type 1 diabetes rep
•golf (or, ever if you will enjoy this)
•A redemption arc

I love me a good sports romance and was surprised to see I liked one about golf!!! I really liked the type 1 diabetes rep. This was a fun one and I can’t wait for book 2. Thank you Avon for eARC in exchange for an honest review!

"Fangirl Down" was a cheesy and smutty read that I shockingly loved!

Let's be real, Tessa Bailey doesn't always make the best books. Her last duology. "The Vine Sisters" was a real let down, so hearing that she was writing a book about a bad boy golfer, I was a bit concerned. A bad boy in polos and khakis just doesn't seem to mix well, unless it's Rafe from "Outerbanks." But I actually enjoyed it. The dialogue was fun and the main characters were interesting. I loved that she started to introduce the next book within this one as well! Tallulah and Burgess' story is going to be great!

*I received this as an ARC through NetGalley*

Never did I think I would find golf enjoyable. I appreciated the delicate approach to men's mental health. And I loved our main characters. What a great book in a new series from Tessa Bailey!

Tessa Bailey did it again. This was the book I needed to get me out of my slump. I felt all sorts of emotions while reading and I want a Wells for myself.

A romance about a professional golfer and his fangirl who becomes his caddie written by Tessa Bailey had me hooked from the beginning. There were a lot of things I loved about this book, like Wells’ obsession with Josephine and how Josephine helped bring out the best in Wells. However, there were some parts of the book that dragged for me and I had trouble staying committed to the storyline. I think a lot of people are going to really love this book, especially fans of Tessa Bailey.

Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for this arc!

I read this book in ~4 hours. I couldn't put it down. It was PERFECTION. The strength is exhausting, loving someone how the need to be loved not babying them and that broken people are loveable is just... GOSH I LOVE IT. LOOOOVE It. I cant say enough good things about Wells and Josephine. I never ever would have though golf was sexy but this book made it work ;)

I loved the story so much and I am so ready to jump into the rest of this series.

Thank you SO MUCH to Net Galley and Avon publishing for the e-ARC for my honest review!

i never thought i'd be reading and enjoying a sports romance about golf but here i am! this was a great, spicy romance, and as someone with a chronic illness myself, i loved the chronic illness representation with the female mc. i did feel like the pacing was a little off at points, but i was also coming off a bit of a reading slump and by end i was really invested in knowing what happened next. thank you to avon for sending me a copy in exchange for my honest review!

I normally love Tessa Bailey's books, but this one fell a little flat. I loved the characters! They were so cute together, and I loved their banter and their VERY spicy scenes. But they didn't really fit into the plot for most of the story. The bad boy trope doesn't really work in a golf setting. I enjoy sports romances, but I have never read a golf romance, and honestly, I don't really want to again. Golf is very much not my sport and doesn't have the energy and tension that makes sports romances so fun. So the first half of the story that really focused on the golf elements felt very forced to me, and the characters were jarring in that setting. The second half was much more enjoyable as golf was the backdrop to the romance, and the story made sense even with the golf aspects. But even though this story wasn't my favorite, it was an enjoyable read and set up another fun romance. The main characters for the next book were briefly introduced, and their tension was already great! (Plus, it is a hockey and not a golf romance, so that should be better.)

Thank you to Netgalley and Avon for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Fangirl Down is the kind of feel-good story I adore. Especially when the ornery hero is redeemed simply by falling for the right woman at the right time. Tessa Bailey sprinkles in her brand of humor as Wells Whittaker, the seemingly down-and-out golfer is brought back to life and professional glory when his number one fan, Josephine Doyle, never gives up on him even when everyone has. These two argue like it's an art form as Josephine continues to root for her favorite golfer as Wells tries to put a stop to it for good. But as fate would have it when a hurricane destroys her livelihood right after her last tearful encounter as Well's Belle, Josephine is suddenly tapped as the beleaguered golfer's newest caddy and that's when the fireworks really get going!

Let's just say the chemistry between these two is wicked good. Josephine is like a modern-day prophet as she guides Wells with the chance to return to the circuit and reclaim his place as one of the best with her calming presence and wise words. Time and again, her faith in him stops him in his tracks and her savvy understanding of golf shocks him with how well she just gets him no matter what he may say or do. And he put his foot in it more times than I could count but yet, Josephine never gave up on him and I was totally fangirling for her just like everyone who was lucky enough to be around her.

I signed and swooned like a fool as Wells was beyond enamored with his caddy and how impressed he was with her knowledge and advice with each drive of the ball. They were meant for each other as both are taken aback at how much they feel for one another in such a short time and not just as number one fan and golf legend. The changes in Wells just because someone stayed by his side when everyone else in his life left him, was beautiful to see. How he became a selfless kind of guy when his instincts were to stay selfish forever. That's what love can do for someone and Bailey drives that notion home perfectly.

There is plenty of spice along with poignant moments that are blended splendidly throughout the book. I loved both characters along with Josephine's parents, her bestie Tallulah, and even some of the rival golfers. This is a well-written and utterly delightful storyline and has solidified my status as a true fan of this talented author's work. This one will make you smile huge and I happily give Fangirl Down a big 5 stars!

"No one trash-talks my golfer but me."

This might be my favorite Tessa Bailey book. I am obsessed with Josephine and Wells. Especially Wells, the dirty talk was off the charts. But this one also made me laugh, Josephine's personality is amazing. She's tough, doesn't back down, and knows exactly what she wants. She was the complete opposite of Wells but it worked so well.

"Because I don't wear matching outfits for just anyone, Josephine. I don't wear them for anyone but..."
"You know who."

The shower scene made me blush. That's how hot it was. I was not expecting it but damn, I wanted more. I also loved that Wells was such a grump he hated everyone and everything, but how he cared about Josephine made me swoon.

" I was very happy being alone until you showed up. You've ruined me."

I can't wait for the second book in this series.

Another cute one from Tessa Bailey! A cranky golf pro, his biggest fan turned caddie and sparks fly. I love how the characters grow and change. I love that they have so much at stake - yet still can’t deny the sparks. The banter between them was perfection. The heath issues - and learning how to live with them was done very well. I just thoroughly enjoyed all parts of this story. A must read rom com.

Thank you NetGalley for my advanced reader copy.

Love Tessa Bailey and really loved Fangirl Down. When a professional golfer hits a slump, desperate times call for desperate measures, which comes in the form of asking his biggest fan to be his caddy. I loved how she had a fully formed life and goals of her own. And I really liked how he respected her goals and encouraged her with what she wanted, too. I read a lot of romance books and this one rose to the top, with great characters, great story structure, and great writing.

This was such a solid romcom! I know what to expect from Tessa Bailey at this point and it delivered on exactly what I wanted from her. It’s low angst, hilarious, and spicy. I can’t say it was was hugely different from a lot of her other books, aside from the golf stuff, but I can’t say I really want anything different from her either.

I found myself laughing out loud often, especially at Wells’ befuddlement over his feelings for Josephine which is my favorite hallmark of Tessa’s books. He fancied himself a cold jerk with a juicy booty but he was so so so soft for his lady and I loved how he was so protective but also knew she was a badass and treated her like an equal. He cared in such big and small ways and it was a delight.

Josephine was a great character, and I loved the type 1 diabetes rep. I feel like I learned some new things so that was great! She didn’t want to be only known for her T1D diagnosis and I loved how strong she was on her own. She really tamed the beast in Wells while also not letting herself get walked over at all.

The two had great chemistry, it had the fan-yourself spice and dirty talk I expect from Tessa 🍑 and I just really had a great time reading it! It’s funny, it’s spicy, it’s entertaining.

This book was so fun! Bad boy pro golfer Wells Whitaker was once a rising golf star, but lately things have been going downhill. Josephine Doyle is his number one fan, always cheering him on. Until Wells gets fed up, quits, and manages to upset even his biggest fan… all at once!

This bad boy meets number one fangirl romcom will give you all the feels and fun vibes! Wells has a big heart under his gruff exterior. And Josephine is way more than Wells number one fan. She’s smart, savvy, knowledgeable about golf, and keeps Wells on his toes. Wells has a chip on his shoulder from his past that has been holding him back and before he realizes it, Josephine shows him new ways to view the world, himself and his golf game.

There’s immediate chemistry between these two and sparks fly throughout this book! This book makes the sport of golf FUN!
Wells is on tour and asks Josephine to caddie for him, which brings major attention their way with a female as a golf caddie! At first, of course no one takes this duo seriously. But Wells is determined to show the world that his golf caddie is everything and more to him.

I love the big gestures in this book from Wells to Josephine, where he shows her by his actions how much he cares for her. These two show up for one another as teammates and partners, providing to each other what they didn’t realize they needed from a partner.

Also, I liked how the type one diabetes rep in this book was written. Everything from how Josephine has to handle things to what bothers her about being considered fragile, to how it doesn’t diminish her ability to live her life fully and succeed. All while having people close to her care for her without being overbearing.

So, if you want to laugh, learn about how golf is fun with a grumpy bad boy golfer and his smart as a whip number one fan turned caddie turned love interest, then grab this book!! You also get a sneak peek at the characters for the second book in this series!!! I can’t wait for it!

Jospehine is Wells Whitaker's number one fan, even when he's at his lowest. And the former golf star is as low as he can get.

This book is one of my favorite Tessa Bailey romcoms in a while! I adored this couple!
Here's what I loved:

The grumpy/sunshine of it all. Josephine and Wells are a perfect grumpy sunshine. She is not only optimistic for her own life, but she is for his as well, which is part of what drives him nuts.

The banter. This is chef's kiss. When the two got together they were magnetic and this came across in all of their dialogue. The humor was spot on!

Wells friggin Whitaker. He is grumpy and angry at the world, but I adored him so much. I also loved how much he adored and needed Josephine, They are a perfect couple. And the spice is perfect.

All in all, this was a perfect Tessa Bailey romcom!

Thank you to the author and publisher for the gifted copy.

This might be my favorite Tessa Bailey book yet. 4.5 stars rounded up to 5.

Josephine is Wells Whitaker's biggest fan. Actually, she might be his only fan. When Wells quits the tour in the middle of the course, he thinks he's going out in a blaze of glory. But soon realizes that he's made a mistake in walking out on Wells' Belle (aka Josephine). Deciding to stage a comeback with his Belle at his side as caddy, Wells finds that there is more to his fan that he assumed.

I love this book and devoured it just as quickly as I could Josephine might be my favorite Tessa Bailey heroine ever. She's smart, fearless, and capable. The banter between Josephine and Wells is to die for. And the spice...HOT.

If you like sports romances or Tessa Bailey, this should be on your TBR.

When a Tessa Bailey book hits for me, it REALLY hits for me. I had so much fun with this book and practically inhaled it. I know nothing about golf but I found myself googling all the terms and all this information about women caddies and it was a very fun rabbit hole. Josephine and Wells had chemistry from page one and it was a ridiculously good time tracking their progress from fan/golfer to caddie/golfer to boyfriend and girlfriend to even soulmates. The two immediately connected and getting to watch their love story unfold was an unexpected delight. I say unexpected because if you told me last month I would adore a sports romance with golfing I would have laughed at you.

Tessa's books tend to have very alpha male, possessive heroes and sometimes it works for me and sometimes it does. Wells teeters on the possessive front but Josephine matches him toe to toe and their banter was delightful. They really felt like a team even if their relationship is more boss/employee. The book does try to reckon with that discrepancy but at the end of the day it's a romance novel and they really did feel like equals to me.

Sometimes you just want a fun, raunchy romance with two people who adore each other and sometimes one is grumpy, sometimes one is more sunshine but ultimately together they bring out the best in one another and it is a joy to read.

Thank you so much to Avon and NetGalley for the opportunity to read an E-Arc in exchange for an honest review.
