Saying it now- my favorite Tessa Bailey book ever! She knows how to write the best grumpy alphaholes ever! I have never read a golf romance before and never planned too since I find the sport boring. But, I had to give it a go because it’s by one of my favorite authors and she didn’t disappoint!

Wells is a golf pro whose career has gone to the dumps. But his biggest fan, Josephine, will never give up on him. I loved the chemistry between these two and felt it from the very beginning. Wells might have been a grumpy jerk but he was so gentle and protective of Josephine. And Josephine was just as protective of him. I enjoyed the plot and the type 1 diabetes rep and felt it was well written. This was such a fun and lighthearted read that will definitely be one that I will reread! I’m excited for Tallulah and Burgess story with the little snippet we got of them in this book.

Tessa Bailey is back with another amazing book. Let me tell you that this book was just phenomenal in every way possible. I knew the story was just going to be amazing when Tessa was pitching the idea on her socials and let me say that this book did not disappoint. I loved the storyline and the conflicts that were in this book. The pacing was great and the setting was lovely. The book is told from both Wells and Josephine’s pov.

Josephine has type 1 diabetes, is a fangirl for Wells until he quits, and owns a gold shop that got ruined by the hurricane. I loved her character and how strong she was. Even all through a hard time, she would pull through and I just loved that positivity. Wells has been an amazing golfer until he lost his touch but he believes his last fangirl would help him. Wells is such a softie for Josephine and I loved that. He would show his grumpy side to the world but his gf he would do anything. They were both such wonderful characters and I could read more books with just them. There are many side characters in this book and I can’t wait for them to shine in the next book. This is a steamy romance between grumpy x sunshine, sports romance, forced proximity and he falls first.

The ending was great and we got an epilogue which was so cute. I really loved this book and I recommend it with all of my heart. You won’t want to miss out on this golf romance that is pure gold.

Fangirl Down is true Tessa Bailey wonder with steam, charm and hilarity. I love that she is writing sport romance and delving into golf which is unique and refreshing to read.

I learned about Golf and I love that she made it enjoyable. The chemistry between the two was steamy, full of banter and wit and so hot. I loved the grumpy and sunshine trope, It never fails and always a great trope to add and then mixing workplace, forced prolixity and it just was such a perfect mix that made their dynamic so much more fun. Wells and Josephine seem like they wouldn't work but their opposites attract and different personalties blended so well together and Tessa Bailey did not hold back. I love how protective he is of her and he learns to care for someone else and wants to help her. I loved that he wanted to be better for her and help her.

He seems like a grump but he's a total softie for her and that I love reading. I loved the storyline, it was hot and sweet and I loved seeing them end up together. I think anyone that is a Tessa Bailey fan will love her sport romance book that comes with the classic Tessa charm. I highly recommend this book!

This book made me care about golf. Golf. The world's most boring sport to watch. But I would watch Wells Whitaker and his peachy bootie play all day long. I loved him and his (albeit a little too quick) emotional growth and self-realization. Josephine and Wells' chemistry is hot and their banter is hilarious. "Are we really pointing out each other's flaws, because I don't think you have that kind of time on your hands." The BEST.

Josephine and Wells' relationship is a bit insta but also really not - they were in each other's orbits for years before they started to get to know each other. But watching them get to know each other is lovely. Josephine supports Wells in a way he has never had (or at least thinks he has never had). Her care for him demonstrates for Wells how he should care for Josephine. And despite her having been his fangirl. he falls first and falls hard. And the spice....is so fantastically spicy. Tessa Bailey is bringing in some taboo play and I am here for it.

Finally, the secondary characters are fantastic. I loved Josephine's parents and I am already excited for Tallulah and Burgess' story. 4.5 stars rounded to 5. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a complimentary ARC of this book. These opinions are all mine.

I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of this book, provided by Netgalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I cannot rate this book high enough - I'm calling this my favorite book of 2024! Yes, I know it's February, but I'm calling it. I fell in love with Wells Whitaker, and I can tell you the exact moment I fell in love with Wells Whitaker. I don't wanna spoil anyone what that moment is, but suffice to say, the man stole my heart with his love and devotion to Josephine.

Josephine is the #1 fan of gold pro Wells Whitaker. Even as he falls from grace. Even when he sucks. But she reaches the end of her rope at one of his tours and walks away - much to Wells chagrin. He didn't realize how much he needed Wells's Belle (that's the sign Josephine would hold at this tournaments. After a natural disaster, Wells finds himself seeking Josephine - and he makes her a deal. Be his caddy, if he can get back on the tournament, and he'll help her rebuild her waterlogged business.

How difficult could it be?

The tension, the banter, the steam and OH BOY when they collide? I couldn't get enough. I couldn't put this book down. Wells' love for Josephine, while he didn't realize it was love, just melted my heart. His possessiveness and jealously put me (and Josephine) through the ringer. I laughed, I sighed, I rolled my eyes. But when all was said and done, all I could see was an HEA for Wells and Josephine. And it was so satisfying.

This story is for every fangirl who has fantasized about ending up with the object of their desire.

Is golf sexy? Or has Tessa Bailey once again accomplished the seemingly impossible? This is a totally unique (and steamy) sports romance that I can't get enough of. Now I want my own sexy, grumpy golfer to match outfits with. Tessa has been writing hit after hit lately, and Fangirl Down definitely does not disappoint! This is a must read for any romance fan, with incredible banter and the best grumpy-sunshine duo.

Cute Golf romance. Josephine owns a golf club house and she is also a big fan of Wells who plays progolf. When they finally meet you know that they will have a chemistry. He is brooder and hot tempered. She need to keep a calm life without stress since she has diabetes. Then he hires her to be his caddy and that's when it becomes such a fun read,
I hadn't read anything with golf in it or with anyone who has diabetes.
Thank you to Harper Collins and NetGalley for the ARC.

Fucking swoon. Wells and Josephine were hot. I literally could not put them down because I had to see their happily ever after, and my god it was worth it.

Fangirl Down is a sports romance y’all, but it’s GOLF! A sport I cannot stand if I’m being perfectly honest because I find it to be sooo boring. But Tessa doing what she does best, she made this so worth it. ☺️💗

Out of Tessa’s recent books, this is my favorite. I still think that I’m not the biggest fan of how she writes men. I loved the type one rep and can tell that Tessa has a daughter with it due to the care that she took with it.

It's been a minute since I've read a Tessa Bailey, and this did NOT disappoint! It is a special kind of talent to be able to make a sport like golf...enjoyable. The banter was top-notch, the dirty talk and spice was INCREDIBLE, and it managed to have the romcom hilarity that we expect from Tessa. Wells and Josephine had great chemistry and were really enjoyable characters to read.

If you enjoy sports romance, grumpy (secretly cinnamon roll) men, and a LOT of sparks and spice, check this one out!

Thank you to Avon and Harper Voyager for the eARC! In my opinion, this is Tessa Bailey’s best book yet! I loved Josephine as a character and Wells was endearing even though he had some traits/tropes I’m not a fan of (at least not that early in the characters relationship). He had big “touch her and you die” vibes when he didn’t know her that well yet! However, the chemistry and banter between the leads was magnetic - the attraction was instant and they worked well both on and off the course.

I know nothing about golf but this was actually interesting and I found it unique to other sports romance books I’ve read. Sometimes the writing was a little immature for me, some of the inner monologue but overall this was a great novel! The T1D storyline was well done and really helped to ground and humanize Josephine, she’s my favorite Tessa Bailey FMC yet!

Finally, the spice was 🌶️🌶️🌶️ I did not expect that shower scene 😂 I highly recommend this, what a fun book! I cannot wait for Burgess and Tallulah’s story!
⭐️⭐️⭐️🌟 3.5 stars!

Tessa Bailey may have finally written a book that topped It Happened One Summer!!!

Don't get me wrong... I love all of her work - but Brennan from IHOS was incredibly tough to top..... until now!

I am NOT a golf fan so this was a little tough to initially get into (only like the first chapter... but if you aren't a golf girlie like me stick around until you get hit with that dual POV in chapter 2!). Like Josephine's devotion to Wells... you'll find yourself unable to put this one down out of incredible hope and excitement for this duo.

I am a SUCKER for a grumpy man with his sunshine lady... and whew! Did this deliver. This man is a chef's kiss to all the grumpy men out there. He is grumpier... falls harder... and talks dirtier than Mr. Brennan from IHOS - IYKYK! This man will have you wishing you were his caddy for the season ;) Easy 5 star read!

Read if you love:
-Grumpy/Sunshine
-Protective/Possessive MMC with a dirty mouth
-Good Girl energy
-Golf Pro x Golf Shop Owner/Fangirl/New Caddy
-Beautiful Comeback stories
-Boss/Employee
-STEAMY ANGST!!!
-Type 1 Diabetic Rep
-Big softie... only for her

Literally that list can go on... and on! IF you have read this far and want to see some of my favorite quotes... keep scrolling!

---- Quotes -----

"I leave you alone for five minutes," he growled beside her ear. "And somehow you manage to find the worst possibly company."
"The jury is out on that. I'm still trying to get a read on (redacted)."
"Close the book. belle. You're done reading."

"You need me to be nice? I'll be the nicest person you've ever met. Just to you. Only you. Jesus Christ, you're so beautiful."

"There are marks on your shoulder."
"Oh." She turned her head to one side, observing the series of red grooves buried in the place where her neck sloped into her shoulder. "They don't hurt."
"Looking at it is hurting me."

"His emotions were cymbals crashing in his head and rib cage. He couldn't make sense of them now. Just knew this woman was his only method of breathing. He needed air."

"He had no idea what he'd done to deserve the Cadillac of sexual favors, but he wanted to be a better person now. Volunteer more. Build orphanages with his bare hands. Save the bees. All of it."

THERE IS SO MUCH MORE!!!!! Read the book... you won't regret it!

This was so good!
I love Tessa Bailey & this is one of her best books. It’s so much fun and you can tell she had a blast writing it. The concept is a bit silly but that’s what makes it entertaining.
The characters were enjoyable and had great chemistry. I thought the spice was well done too. Not too much but just the right amount.
The plot is fun and kept me engaged. It was fast paced too.
Wonderful romcom that’s going to make readers swoon and giggle. Can’t wait for book two.

I’ve been waiting for a golf romance and it fully exceeded my expectations 🙌 I grew up golfing on-and-off with my family and my husband is a big golfer so it’s something we do together 💚

I have been a Tessa Bailey fan for a while now and this is my favorite book by her yet 👏

⛳️ grumpy / sunshine
⛳️ mental health rep
⛳️ diabetes rep
⛳️ lots of flirting
⛳️ spicy 🌶️

It’s swoony, funny, allll the things. Wells was the sweetest under his grumpy exterior and Josephine was the perfect FMC to put him in his place and remind him what matters. This is definitely one of the best sports romance books I’ve read, and I think even non-golf fans will love it!

FANGIRL DOWN is the first book in Tessa’s new sports romance series. We were introduced to the characters for book two and I can’t WAIT for the AU PAIR AFFAIR (out 7/16)!🏒

Fangirl Down by Tessa Bailey is an exceptional sports romance series that combines elements of romantic comedy. The story revolves around a captivating bad-boy professional athlete who unexpectedly finds himself falling for his most devoted fan. Tessa Bailey's remarkable ability to infuse tenderness, vulnerability, and sizzling passion into her books is precisely why she has earned a permanent spot as one of my all-time favorite authors.

Okay. So. I was absolutely intrigued by a golf romance LOL
I was not expecting to actually enjoy the trope... but here we are.

I thought this one was so fun! It was such a good little afternoon read. Bailey does such a great job with mixing the fun with the spicy. It was different from the normal overdone tropes but wasn't so far out of reach that you couldn't enjoy it. I was absolutely in love with the diabetes rep and how it was woven into the story.

I am so impressed by this one. I am excited for the next in the series!

I actually ended up really enjoying this one

The book started out a bit slow for me. I liked Josephine and her character arc. I liked Wells and the back story. I just didn't feel connected at the beginning. However, as the story progressed I became very vested in the plot and how the story would end.

I love sports romance but this was my first golf romance. I am excited to see where this series goes.

I found this book the slightest bit slow to get into, but like the first few chapters only, then I loved it! Classic TB spice, classic TB grumpy hero; A+ protective hero. And like, drama without the characters being obnoxiously immature about it. Overall a fun read.

Fangirl Down
By: Tessa Bailey
Publisher: Avon and Harper Voyager
Pub Date: 2/13/24

Josephine Doyle is a self proclaimed Fangirl. When she’s not running her family's golf pro shop she spends any down time she has cheering on Wells Whitaker a grumpy golf pro who's been on a losing streak for a long time now.
He’s a very unhappy guy who has had a rough life. After his parents abandoned him he went to live with an uncle until he was “discovered” by a famous golfer who takes him under his wing and teaches him all he can.
Josephine was raised in a totally different world. Her parents were older when they had her and after she was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes her parents became extremely overprotective. It took her years to get them to back off and let her handle both the store and her diabetes.
What her parents don’t know is she hasn’t been taking care of herself the way she should be. Not only is she without health insurance but she let the flood insurance on the Pro Shop lapse and Florida is about to be hit with a hurricane.
Wells can’t seem to get his Fangirl out of his head. She is always there to support him but instead of thanking her he rips up her sign and tells her to find another golfer he is not worth it. Can she help him get his game back? Can he help her get out of the financial disaster she is in at the shop?

Tessa always writes such witty, easy to love characters that always makes her books go way to fast! She really is the master of chemistry right on the page.
Thanks to Avon and Harper Voyager and NetGalley for the ARC.

Fangirl Down by @tessabaileyisanauthor on @librofm is narrated by Callie Dalton who nailed perky Josephine’s personality and the southern drawn of pro-golfer Wells Whitaker.

After a horrible meet-disaster between golfer and his biggest fan when Wells’ career implodes, Josephine and Wells part hoping to never see one another again. Then a hurricane destroys Josephine’s family run golf-shop and she needs cash fast to make repairs and afford her insulin required for her type 1 diabetes. Call it guilt, an unknown pull, or change of heart, but Wells decides to try and rejoin the PGA tour with Josephine as his caddy to help her recover the prize money she needs. Insane tension, hilarious banter, all the forced proximity had me unable to stop reading/listening. Tessa has been cranking out some male heroes that are SO honed into the women they fall for and it’s hot. Wells falls hard and projects “mine” and “touch her and you die” vibes that I adore. I possess the absolutely minimal knowledge of the sport of golf, but found myself incredibly invested in the golf matches portrayed in this novel! 😂

This hilarious, steamy, swoony rom-com is releasing next week on 2/13/24 and it absolutely need to be in your TBR!
