This is probably my new favorite Tessa Bailey book!!!

I was hesitant given this was a golf romance (and my golf experience is limited to one time at Top Golf), but I could not have been more wrong. It was sweet, spicy, and had a beautiful balance between the sport and romance.

I will be highly recommending this one and buying myself a copy!

Wow I cruised through this one! Did it help that I watched the Netflix show Full Swing, so I had some idea what professional golfers even did with their lives. I think it did! (Oh, it’s already obvious they travel and golf? Well… okay then.)

I loved this one- it was close to a five star but it lost me a bit in the end with the third act breakup and the climax scene at the masters. (Also… I don’t think he would’ve been invited to the masters… but we can suspend belief for that. What can I say, I really liked Full Swing and am now a gold officianado!)

This book definitely landed in my top three Tessa Bailey books! If you like a STEAMY, he falls first, sports romance, grumpy/sunshine. This one is for you!

Steam level 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥😳😳
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ out of 5 stars

Thank you to the publisher and netgalley for the advanced readers copy!

Being a Tessa Fan means I'm here for all the novels.

After reading her wine based duet this is definitely an upswing.

I loved all the "flaws" the main characters had. Each had things they had to work through.

Also the dirty talk is on point.

The premise of this was both cringingly embarrassing (Josephine's fangirl vibe was horrifying in a very fun way) and engaging, eventually getting into the intense longing vibes that remind me of Bailey in her pre-cartoon cover era.

Tessa Bailey is a delightful rom-com writer who will make you cherish every book. Step into the world of golf, yes, not my favorite sport, but trust me, this book will change your mind! Wells Whitaker used to have a very promising career ahead of him, but not anymore. Not only has he lost his career, but also his biggest fan.

Josephine always stood by her golfer, even when he wanted to quit himself. In a wild turn of events, he asks her to be his caddy and if she can help improve his game, he will split the cash money with her.

As time goes on, the two spend lots of time together and this fangirl might be falling way too hard. Will either survive, read to find out!

I did not think I would like this book because I am not a fan of golf, but I really enjoyed this sports romance. The characters felt fleshed out and realistic. Wells Whitaker is a professional golfer who is on a self-destructive path, and he gives up in the middle of a tournament. Josephine Doyle considers herself a superfan and supports Wells even when he is not doing well with the sport. When he gives up on himself and treats Josephine poorly, she decides to move on. Wells feels terrible that he let down the only person who believed in him, so he offers to hire Josephine to be his caddy for an upcoming tournament. Wells is an underdog in the game, but Josephine is determined to help him fall in love with the game again. As they spend time togehter during the tournament, Wells falls in love with Josephine. However, Joesphine needs to decide if she wants to focus on her family's golf pro shop or if she wants to be Wells' caddy forever.

I tried to read Tessa Bailey's other book, Fix Her Up, but I disliked it and could not finish it. I was not expecting to like this book as much as I did. I had no idea that this book would be as smutty as it was, so fair warning that it gets super graphic. (There is a literal rimming scene where Josephine rims Wells.) I thought that Josephine's dilemma (be a caddy at the Masters Tournament or focus on repairing her family's pro shop) at the end of the book was too drawn out and unnecessary, but I can see how it was necessary for the plot. Fans of sports romance (no previous golf knowledge is necessary) will enjoy this book. The chemistry between Josephine and Wells was leaping off the page.

The story line of Fangirl was great as I am a huge golf fan and Belle was a lovable character. Overall the book was a good read, it was a bit to sexually explicit for me. I also thought it a bit of a surface level.

Tessa Bailey will always be one of my go-to authors! When I heard about this book I was so excited! It’s definitely something different than I’ve read and I’m so glad I picked it up.

This book follows characters Josephine and Wells.

Josephine is a golf lover and the number one fan of Wells Whitaker. She is this bright, enthusiastic woman who wants to show her parents that she can be independent with her medical condition and show everyone she doesn’t need to be handled with kid gloves. She’s been a Wells fan for many years, even as his career sunk and his attitude made people want to avoid him. After Wells quits, she thinks she made the wrong choice standing behind him all this time.

Wells is on a downward spiral. For the last two years, his career has declined rapidly. Once a top player in the golf world and admired by many, he is now drinking his days away, barely getting invited to tournaments, playing horribly, and showing his anger more and more. Even though he hardly can be considered a golf player at this point, he’s always had one fan who stuck by him through it all. Wells Belle. After making a mistake that eats at him, he only has one thing on his mind; check on his Belle.

This follows a change in which Josephine is his new caddy. Wells has one goal in mind; make money and help Josephine with her destroyed shop. But what goes from there is something neither of them expected.

This book was SO CUTE. Wells is OBSESSED. He falls first? More like he would burn down the world for Josephine. I loved seeing his grumpy attitude (and trust me, you’ll want to shake him) change the more he got to know Josephine. They were so perfect for each other!! And the spice? Wowssss! Tessa Bailey never disappoints.

Overall a fun, sweet, spicy read. Definitely recommend it!

This was just SO GOOD. I laughed, I teared up, and I just truly had a good time reading this. It’s been a long time since I giggled out loud while reading…and don’t let the cutesy cover fool you, it was hot.

I just loved Wells and Josephine!! Wells was very “Roy Kent” in this grumpy x sunshine romance. And it was so refreshing to not have weird miscommunication or third act breakups. It was also fun because what super fan doesn’t want to end up with their idol? My only caveat is the whole book happening over the span of like a month…but I liked it too much to really care.

Ugh. Tessa came out really strong with this sports romance and I can’t wait to read the next one with hockey player Burgess.

Thank you to Tessa Bailey and Avon and Harper Voyager for an Advanced Readers Copy via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review

THIS WAS SO GOD DAMN GOOD! Honestly, I was hooked on these two from the very start. Tessa did such an amazing job in making you love grumpy Wells from the get-go, and feel all giddy over his VERY OBVIOUS weakness for Josephine. So of the shit he was think/say over Josephine had me giggling out loud and kicking my feet… I SWEAR🥰

Honestly… this gave ‘It Happened One Summer’ a run for its money for me. The characters, the writing, and the way that this story made me feel very much felt like old Tessa Bailey🥹🫶🏼 I am so excited for this to be in everyone’s hands!!

I loved this book! I devoured it in only a few sittings and wish there was more to read. The story line was paced very well and the characters were easy to love!

TESSA BAILEY INVENTED GRUMPY X SUNSHINE!!!!!

This book made my kick my feet, giggle into the pillow, throwing up all over the walls. Wells Whitaker, the man that you are. Suddenly, I'm a fan of golf! This book did have a few little things, hence the four stars, but it was such a fun and flirty read that I didn't stop reading once I started.

Here's some stuff that made me like "huh?"
*SPOILERS*
1. The timeline. This whole book takes place over like, a couple months? Maybe? Their relationship like, snowballs. Definitely not a slow burn.
2. Him sending a booty pic. I pretended that didn't happen.
3. The end conflict. I kind of wanted to punch Joey Roo in the face. And her parents. They just sit back and let her run it? And don't ask any questions. They kind of suck sometimes.
Now, here's some stuff that made me go KLFHFJETLGTWKL4TJHTHEJHTKK
1. WELL'S MOUTH DEAR LORDT
2. "I'm nice but only to you" <333333
3. Him proposing at the Master's. I'm imagining that picture and I'm actually gagging art how cute.
4. The setup for Burgess and Talullah...okay age gap moment

Tessa Bailey did not disappoint on this one. May blessings rain down on her.

5 stars! I could not stop myself from grinning the entire time I was reading this book, and I was so mad I had to stop to go to work. Fangirl Down has everything you want in a sports romance comedy (or any rom com really) Amazing chemistry between the leads - CHECK! Hilarious banter - CHECK! Sunshine FMC who can argue (and win) with the boys - CHECK! Grumpy MMC with the best assets in town - CHECK! This book is stupid cute with the perfect dose of heartwarming emotion. I love Tessa’s portrayal of Josephine, and when you read the acknowledgements you get a glimpse into why this story feels so special. I cannot wait for the second book in the series and will be recommending this title to anyone who will listen.

Tessa Bailey is quickly becoming my favorite contemporary romance author. Everything she writes is guaranteed to be sweet and a little extra spicy. Both of these main characters were great. The setup for the next novel in the series (between two of the side characters) felt a little forced, but that didn't really detract from this story at all. I'm not a big golf fan, but that doesn't really matter -- don't let it stop you from picking this up.

I absolutely adored this! Tessa Bailey is the master of her craft. This was hilarious, sexy, and so sweet. I didn’t think I would enjoy reading about golf, because let’s be real, golf is such a boring sport… But I enjoyed this SO much.
I loved the T1D representation in this. Wells was an amazing MMC. The perfect amount of grumpy, but also completely devoted to his woman. I just ate it up!
And of course, in true Tessa Bailey fashion, this had me laughing out loud with how funny it was.
I really, really enjoyed this and am so ready for the second book in this series!!
Thank you for the ARC! Full review will be posted on Goodreads on release day!

I love a good underdog story and add that he falls in love with his #1 fan - it’s too good! Such a fun and quick read and I’m super happy this is going to be a series!

Tessa Bailey's best yet. I loved the character development, both in themselves and each other. The chemistry was great and the pace and tension were perfect. I can't wait to read more of this series.

For some reason this Tessa Bailey book just didn’t hit the way some of her others have for me. The characters felt very cringey which made reading difficult for me. I can see how other fans of her work would enjoy it though!

I need to stop reading Tessa Bailey books. I am not the audience, I am not a fan, and I have to stop falling for the hype when I know better. This is for someone, a lot of someones, but this is not for me. I need to hold myself accountable and just say no next time.

I could see where people who are more apt to read this genre on a regular basis would like this book. I however think it was too much. Take that how you will given that I don't often read fluffy stuff.
I have read a lot of Bailey's works and do enjoy most of them, but I felt this one wasn't quite for me.
There was a real "trendy-trope" miasma on the plotline. Like, if this was a romantic comedy movie, I think I could get more into it then the book itself.

I am just really confused how to properly review this. Like, it was good . . . but it wasn't that good for me.

I received an advanced copy for review from NetGalley.
