First of all, I found the idea of a sports romance being about a golfer quite unique and intriguing, which definitely pulled me in. I know Tessa Bailey is one of the queens of sexy and spice, so I wanted to see how she could put the two together! It's definitely a grumpy/sunshine romance and instalove, but I still loved their chemistry. It made me more interested in golf, which I have to say, is a feat in itself. I think this is a GREAT book by Tessa and I would recommend it far and wide to romance readers.

Classic Tessa Bailey book, however, this one was a little cringey for me in terms of storyline and progression of the romance.

From the first encounter of Joe and Wells meeting on a golf course to him showing up after a hurricane is just very confusing for me. I feel like there should've been a more memorable encounter that lead this man to driving across the state.

Next the entire story takes place over a month which includes rebuilding a whole pro shop, which from the standpoint of rebuilding a store after a hurricane, contractors get backed up and this is quite the feat and not realistic.

But back to the smut scenes which is why we read Tessa's books, A+ and tessa experiments with "rim jobs", a first from what I can tell, however anatomically I don't think one of the positions is possible unless Joe has unreasonable long arms and tongue... overall just very confusing for me so I gave it a 3

Who knew golf could be so riveting? Things I loved: Josephine’s relationship with her parents, Wells’s devotion to her and pride in her skills, while also knowing she doesn’t need saving. Josephine being a strong powerful female character despite her struggles. As usual, Tessa Bailey’s romantic scenes shine. What didn’t work for me as much: lengthy passages describing looks between the two protagonists, their breathing and profound feelings especially at the end of the book.

This book was so good. I wasn't a fan of Bailey's last 2 releases despite being a fan of her other books so I wasn't sure what to expect with this book but I enjoyed it so much. Wells and Josephine were awesome characters who I totally adored. Josephine was so sweet and her attitude was fantastic. Even when Wells was being a bit of a bummer she was still happy and ready to think on the bright side. Despite being a positive and fun character, she didn't come off as positive to the point of rolling your eyes at her or thinking that she has her head in the clouds and is completely detached from realty. I also think all the information and inclusion of Josephine's type 1 diabetes was interesting and was nice to read from the perspective of having a heroine who has a health condition but is still strong and happy. Josephine is not less than because of her diabetes and she's more than her health situation.
Wells was absolute perfection. I think Wells is my favorite of all of Bailey's heroes. He was such a grumpy cinnamon roll and his utter devotion to Josephine was adorable and frankly hilarious. Wells had no chill when it came to loving Josephine and it was so funny. The fact that he's pretty much shouting his devotion to her for no clear reason because he can't keep it contained is priceless. Even though Josephine and Wells don't know each other for long before getting together for good, I never felt like the expedited timeline of their relationship was inappropriate or unrealistic given how much they cared for each other. Bailey wrote their relationship so well and they were such a good pair. I also enjoyed how Wells was such a champion for Josephine. He wanted what was best for her and, I think, he looked out for her without being a patronizing jerk like some heroes are. Wells was Josephine's biggest fan and even though there was some fated mates energy with their connection, I never thought that Wells read like caveman which some authors tend to do and some of Bailey's other heroes have read like.
A content warning though for anyone who hasn't read this author is that there is a lot of spice and if you're not into that then you might not enjoy certain parts of this book. Overall, I thought this book was absolutely perfect and I highly recommend it. 5 stars!

Thank you to Avon and NetGalley for a DRC of this title!

Fangirl Down follows down-on-his-luck surly pro golfer Wells Whitaker and his biggest fan-turned-caddy— sunny golf pro Josephine Doyle— as Wells attempts to make a major comeback.

Fangirl Down was such a fun read and is a great representation of Bailey’s perfect balance between heart, heat, and humor. The banter between the two leads was fantastic, and the chemistry really sang between these characters. If I really wanted to nitpick, I might point out that I wish that Josephine had been able to spotlight her professional competence a bit more by giving Wells real technical feedback (but that’s personal preference!) and that they do start a physical relationship pretty early based on the length of time they’ve known each other (but you walk into a Tessa Bailey book knowing that it will be steamy!). These quibbles are very minor, though, and Fangirl Down is still easily my favorite TB book since It Happened One Summer and an easy five stars. Will definitely highly recommend to my patrons who are looking for a fun romcom or are fans of Bailey’s previous work.

A humorous romance full of wit and heart! This was a fast-paced read and engaging main characters. I loved the chemistry and banter between Wells and Josephine. Recommended for fans of sexy, spicy romances that leaving you smiling at the end. 3.5 stars.

Thank you to Tessa Bailey, NetGalley, and Avon and Harper Voyager Publishing for an advanced eBook in exchange for my honest review.

I would say this was good old fashioned fun but just be warned there is mega sex described in detail so I guess I have to leave out the "old fashioned" part! But it really was a delightful read. Josephine Doyle is a golf fan, player, and pro shop owner. She is the long time loyal fan of washed up, self destructive, and extremely appealing Wells Whitaker - a once "rising star" in the golf world, now, basically a pariah. No matter how much he descends, she's still his cheerleader and in a charming twist, she becomes his caddy in order to earn the money to repair her shop and at the same time, revive his career and self confidence. Of course there are some typical oh no moments, some corny cute bits but bottom line, this is a sweet fun romance read. Relax and enjoy the pleasant engaging escape before you have to go back to real life. I am definitely looking forward to Ms. Bailey's next one.

In this household, Tessa Bailey is a queen. I will read anything and everything she puts her name on. This was such a great romcom style book and I absolutely could not put it down!

Josephine Doyle is Wells Whitaker's number one fan. Ok, at this point she might be his only fan. When Wells rudely rips up her sign during a golf tournament, however, Josephine decides it's finally time to give up on Wells. Wells finds himself missing his number one fan, and when a tropical storm hits the town she lives in, he races there to make sure she's alright and ends up offering her a chance to be his caddy. Time together on the road leads to friendship, which leads to flirting, and it's not long before Wells and Josephine are truly smitten.
Fans of Tessa Bailey's novels will find a lot to love in Fangirl Down. This is a grumpy/sunshine romance that doesn't shy away from the harder parts of life (Josephine has type 1 diabetes and no insurance while Wells has mental health struggles). There is even a hint of the next book in the series!

SUPER cute!! I loved this. It reminded me of Susan Elizabeth Phillip's early quirky sports romances in the best possible way! I will definitely purchase this for my library already can't wait to read the next book in the series.

Loved the first book in what I expect will be another Tessa Bailey series.
I'm not a fan of golf at all but I definitely am a fan after reading this book. I loved the main characters and their interaction. Even with the humor and romance she covered the serious subject of living with Type 1 Diabetes.
I highly recommend this book. I read it in less than 24 hours. Thanks NetGalley for the advance copy. #NetGalley #FangirlDown

Another fun read by Tessa Bailey. This was so much fun, and Wells and Josephine adventures gave me many laughs. And, of course, the romance was so steamy and good!

No one writes a grump with a heart of gold getting in his own way quite like Tessa Bailey. Golf’s bad boy, Wells Whitaker, is on a losing streak. He’d blow it all up and leave the sport for good if only his #1 fan would finally see him as the has-been everyone else sees. Unfortunately for Wells, Josephine Doyle is as loyal as they come, she knows he’s still got it and she’ll do whatever it takes to get him back in the game. It is so easy to fall for Wells and Josephine and root for them to grow individually and together. Who knew golf could be so hot?

Thank you to NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyager for giving me a digital copy of "Fangirl Down" by Tessa Bailey in exchange for an honest review.

Professional golfer Wells Whitaker is spiraling from the height of fame. Once at the top of the golfing game, his drinking and attitude have quickly chipped away at his success. By the start of "Fangirl Down" he's one incident away from dropping off the cliff of obscurity. He's got precisely one fan left, Josephine, and after he has a spectacular meltdown on the green, even she's done with his crap.

A few weeks later, a hurricane hits Florida and destroys her family's golf shop. Fearing for her safety and livelihood, Wells shakes himself out of his drunken brooding and rushes to the scene, offering her a job as his caddy. It starts as a way of giving her enough money to rebuild the family business but she quickly proves that she knows golf as well as, if not better than, Wells does. They become an absolute sensation on the PGA tour, other stuff happens, and they live happily ever after.

Like many Bailey stories, the romance heats up fast. It helps that they already have a sort of familiarity. But the story is really about how they rewrite their relationship, going from star/fangirl to true romantic partners. The meltdown at the beginning of the story is aggravating and not terribly flattering to Wells, but it's absolutely necessary. It forces Josephine to let go of her adulation and see him as a real person. Wells, meanwhile, starts to recognize how his behavior affects the people in his life. Had that incident not happened, I would have found it more difficult to reconcile who Josephine is at the start with the woman she is by the end.

I loved, loved, loved the way Type 1 diabetes was depicted on the page. It was cleverly incorporated into the story, rather than acting as some kind of plot device. The ins and outs of her condition have real and specific impacts on their relationship.

While this wasn't my absolute favorite Bailey romance, it was very, very good. Recommended for sports rom com fans, golfers who enjoy dirty talk, and Bailey fans of all sorts.

All. Of. The. Stars.
Tessa Bailey never lets me down, but Tessa Bailey and a sports romance. Stop, just stop right now. I loved absolutely everything about it, and couldn't put it down. Wells is perfection, but I loved how much he loved Josephine.
Now I have a sudden urge to watch more PGA...

Okay. I just have to do this. Fangirl Down is an absolute hole in one! I will attempt to exercise some self control and refrain from using any other golf-related phrases to describe this absolute delight of a book. When I saw the announcement for this book I couldn’t wait and it delivered! The character sketches for both Josephine Doyle and Wells Whitaker had the potential to be one dimensional, but I am happy to say they were both layered, interesting, and imperfectly endearing. Wells has an epic meltdown to end his once promising career. Josephine’s livelihood and health are at risk after a hurricane rips through her Golf Pro Shop. Their solution to help one another results in so much more than success on the golf course!

This was my favorite Tessa Bailey book TO DATE! She is unmatched in the romance genre. Her ability to weave a perfect plot with perfect characters astounds me every single time. Sprinkle in some sports and I am a goner. Josephine and Wells are the two cutest pumpkins ever written in a romance novel. They're relationship is so believable and so juicy it will keep reading through the night nonstop. ADD THIS TO YOUR COLLECTION IMMEDIATELY!
