Wooow, I did not now that golf could be hot. But I now know Tessa Bailey could make anything hot. This is one of the best grumpy sunshine books I have read and my favorite Tessa Bailey book. Also got hooked on the next couple during the one scene they Had here

This was such a cute read! Josephine is Wells number one fan! Wells is very cranky and is not playing good golf and quits. Josephine’s family store is destroyed by a hurricane and Wells hires her as his caddy. Josephine helps him improve in golf. . The ending was predictable it was a great read.

Another awesome Tessa Bailey book: great writing, fun storyline, fantastic characters, humor and sadness and happily-ever-after. I loved the way Wells and Josephine bantered and the close relationship they had. The "problems of our own making" were aggravating, as they always are to me, but thankfully they didn't last overly long in this book. A fun, engaging read.

If I could give 3.5 stars I would because Tessa Bailey has done it. I am not a fan of sports romances, let alone a GOLF one but hello? This book did exactly what needed to be done. The MMC, Wells, is a golfer that was on a rise to fame and being a household name until it was fail after fail, this discouraged him from wanting to go on. But even though this handsome, dark haired, grumpy man, was at a loss of pushing through, Josephine was always his cheerleader... I love a good grumpy x sunshine duo plus I guess you could say workplace romance. I'd give this about 2.5 chili peppers.

Josephine Doyle is a true fan. She full-heartedly believes that Wells Whitaker can come back from his slump to once again be golf's greatest player even if Wells is convinced he's done as a pro player. They've only met on the sidelines, but a series of events leads to Jo becoming Wells's caddy in a bid to help him regain his game and help her finance the remodel of her family's pro shop after it's destroyed in a hurricane. It's a fun case of proximity giving them a chance to explore more sides to each other. They definitely like what they're finding, but is a relationship between a professional athlete and his number one fan something that can survive off the green?

I loved both characters and the grumpy meets sunshine of their relationship makes for some adorably sweet reading when Wells lets his softer side come out for Josephine. It's one fun moment after another interspersed with sweetness and some very well-executed spice. There's a little something for any mood and you will feel all of them as you follow along as these two find their HEA.

Delighted thanks to NetGalley and Avon for the wonderful, escapist read!

I loved this golf-themed romance. Don't we all want to enter in a secret romance with our favorite athlete? The spice was good - it did have a little bit of the miscommunication trope but I still enjoyed it!

Another great five star from Tessa Bailey. She’s the only person I know who can make a golf book, romantic and funny and make me want to read more. Well, done!

Who knew that a golf romance could be so good? This was such a refreshing take on sports romance and I thoroughly enjoyed it! I definitely have recommended it to many of my romance reader friends and will continue to do so.

A book with a red head main character sign me up for all the red head happily ever afters.

Tessa has done it again and I have loved another one of her books. This one was fun with the added sports element, as I have not read many sports romance novels. The fact that the sport is golf too was nice. (I played on my high school golf team and know a bit about the sport.)

Tessa blew this book away for me with some top tear spice screens as well 🥵.

Though I felt like the relationship moved a bit fast like kind of insta-love ish I liked both our main characters. The balance they had with each other and their struggles.

We also got a glimpse of the couple for the next book and I can't wait to read about their love story.

This wasn’t my favorite Tessa Bailey book, but honestly I’ve been in a bit of a slump and I’m not a golf person, so it may not be the fault of the book. Wells is a golf bad boy and Josephine is a super fan who becomes his caddy. Hotel room and storm shelter hookups commence and it ends happily ever after (of course) It was a little too insta love (well I guess she’d been nursing a crush for a long time) for me but a fun read for fans of spicy sports romances

As if I couldn't love Tessa Bailey more, Fangirl Down is the perfect launch to her new super sexy but hilarious sports romance series! Only she could make a relationship between a bad boy professional golfer and his biggest fan not only seem possible, but utterly believable.

Tessa Bailey has fast become one of my automatic, one click authors! Her characters are so funny and quirky, and just real! I loved this book! I've never read a golfing romance and I don't know much about the sport of romance period, but this was great and I wasn't lost. It was easy to follow along and I loved it!I The chemistry between the leading couple was HOT and TB set the following book up in this seriously perfectly! Going to rec this to all my friends for sure!

I absolutely loved it from beginning to end. Tessa Bailey is the absolute queen of spicy rom coms. Wells is perfectly grumpy and will do anything not to fall for Josephine. Josephine is hilariously smart and definitely keeps Wells on his toes. Watching it all come together was a warm hug for my rom com loving heart.

4/4.25 ⭐️

I just feel like Tessa Bailey needs to start writing in first person dual POV immediately and she’d be an auto buy author for me, honestly . 🤷🏼‍♀️

ANYWAYS - i can tell you i FOR SURE didn’t have reading a GOLF ROMANCE on my bingo card for 2024 but here i am and im not really mad about it.

I actually hated Wells in a walking red flag, toxic controlling narcissist kinda way - i don’t feel like he really ever turned a leave.. we just saw him “behave” when his woman was around. I’m not gonna lie it gave me a personal ick during the ass eating scene, but i get you have to make sure there’s something for everyone - so i personally skipped over it and just deleted it from my personal read.

I loved the mental health representation in men in this. I think we more often than not see that only represented in women and it doesn’t only occur in women. I really loved the diabetes representation and how accurate it is having an illness that requires so much on a day to day.. dealing with the battle of how to pay for everything + insurance. it’s a real thing and i believe it was handled with care.

the banter was funny and enjoyable. I loved the text convo when she went out to the tournament after him. 😂 helped him clean his camera lmao

overall i enjoyed it and will definitely continue in this series.

Sports romances tend to be a lot of fun, but for me reading about golf is just about as boring as watching golf.

Josephine seems very childish and young. I would have appreciated seeing some independence and growth for her. Seems like she was only there to prop up Wells. Regarding their relationship, I like that Josephine challenges Wells, but I don't like that she has to be his therapist instead of Wells taking the initiative to grow himself. I was not at all impressed that he devolves into a total asshole if Josephine isn't there to supervise. The romance wasn't bad overall and there are some hot moments, but Wells' redemption arc was too weak.

One last thing that threw me on the writing - some really strange repetitive lines pulled me out of the story every time they came up. The "five fingers through his hair" is weird on its own and especially odd when the same line is used half a dozen times. Just odd.

I do think there is promise for this series, though! I'll be looking forward to the next book featuring hockey.

Thank you to NetGalley & the publisher for providing an eARC for review.

This was my first golf romance and I may need more. This was such a fun read! Grumpy Wells takes on Spunky Josephine as his caddy! She’s his biggest fan even when he’s not playing well. She’s working on her family’s pro shop and knows all the tips to keep Wells on track and get him back to the top.
Their dynamic was perfect. I ate it up!
I adored how much he looked out for her and how much she looked out for him.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Fangirl Down was so much fun! I love reading about an obsessed hero, and honestly, when this book started, I saw the heroine being the obsessed one. Not the hero. But with time, Wells showed just how obsessed with Josephine he was.

Sports romances are some of my favorites and I can’t say I’ve read many golf books. It was unique in that aspect, as well as the golfer/caddy. I loved how motivational Josephine was to Wells. Also, how much Wells wanted to help her and be there for her. When he was monitoring her from afar and just cared so much when he seemed like a man who cared about nothing or no one.

Overall, I had a lot of fun reading this book. It was sweet, the banter was great, and it was a good time!

I had the best time reading this book. The leads were both interesting characters on their own that when put together had chemistry, banter, and humor. Honestly everything I want to see in a good romance. Never thought I would enjoy reading about golf but now here I am ready to watch the masters, Tessa Bailey you have done it again.

I’m usually a really big Tessa Bailey fan. This one was a let down for me. The bad boy of golf was very unconvincing and the immediate way he fell for it is just the same formula we’ve seen before in her previous books. I was excited for this one but I honestly was cringing from the first page. However, there’s an audience for this book. My sports romance girlies you’ll eat this up if you love the he falls first trope.
