I have mixed feelings about this one! The title and premise drew me in. Although I hadn’t read from this author before, I had surprisingly (to me) really enjoyed ‘The Dead Romantics’ by Ashley Poston so this seemed a perfect choice especially when throwing in the New York setting.

Jillian is a dating advice columnist who in real life cannot speak to men. She moves into a new apartment in New York City. The décor isn’t entirely ideal but she can’t argue with the cheap rent. Jillian is shocked to find herself sharing the apartment with the attractive (but dead) Daniel. Jilliam can’t believe the only man she is able to talk to has to be a ghost.

Daniel believes if he helps Jillian with her love life and job he can move on. As they spend more time together, they start to fall for each other instead.

I listened to the audiobook and I thought the narrator did a great job with the voices for all of the characters.
I was having a really good time at the beginning of the book; I was enjoying the developing relationship between the two main characters. There was good humour and I also liked the side characters of Jillian’s friends and colleagues. The ‘twist’ about Daniel’s ghostly presence surprised me as I had been anticipating a different explanation and I liked that this was something different. But I did also find myself wondering why Jillian and Daniel did not seem to put any real effort into finding out who he was and how he had died beyond an extremely cursory search. I was also not keen on the ghostly sex scenes, these seemed really odd! I felt that the book was too long as at several points it felt like the story should be ending and there were still hours left on the audiobook.

So, there were things I liked and other aspects that did not work for me. That said, I found the audiobook easy to listen to and despite the length I got through it rapidly listening at 2.5x speed and did want to find out how the story would conclude.

Thank you to the publisher, W. W. Crown for providing this book for review consideration via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

Please Note: I received an early copy of this book from the publisher.

This audiobook was fantastic! I really enjoyed the way in which it was narrated and the overall story had a really nice flow to it -- it wasn't too fast, nor too slow. I also was surprised by a few twists throughout the story and absolutely adored how it ended. It was a feel good story that I think a lot of people can get behind and enjoy, even though it's predominantly about a woman and a ghost. It seems like a silly premise at first, but trust me, you'll love it, and by the end of the book, you will be happy that you read it!

Jillian finds herself struggling in NYC and finds an apartment that is dirt cheap, covered in mirrors and occupied by an extremely sexy ghost. Jillian also has a difficult time talking to people, especially men but finds that talking to Daniel the ghost is easy. They decide that in order for Daniel to “move on” he must have been put in Jillian’s life to help her find love. Through many awkward, hilarious dates Daniel and Jillian find themselves developing a strong friendship and maybe more. Unfortunately having a ghost as a boyfriend is not an option, how could that possible work?

On the surface this seemed like it was going to be a pretty straight-forward romance. There is so much more to it. For starters it is really well written. The characters are fantastic and I was completely invested. There is also a lot more to the story than it appears. There is Jillian’s struggle with her past and her fear of talking to men. There is Daniel’s story of discovering what he wants from life. There is the angst of them not being able to be together. Let me tell you it is painful. My heart actually hurt for these two!! If you are looking for a good romance with a little more depth and want to experience heartache then this book is for you!!

Honestly, I thought I was about to read the same story I have read a million times and Sarah Ready surprised me. It was not contrived and the characters were fleshed out and real. I love when characters have special interests like Jillian likes Star Trek, makes me care about them more. I won't spoil the fun, but I knew when I got about 50% of the way through and thought things were already wrapped up that this story was about to get even better, and it DID. Loved it thoroughly. The audiobook narrator's performance was also phenomenal.

I really enjoyed Jillian and Daniel's story, although I have to admit, I missed the explanation of how this all happened. That said, I enjoyed the characters and storyline.

Jillian struggles to talk to men, yet ends up renting (sight unseen) an apartment whose every surface is covered in mirrors. The former occupant had his own sex den there, and now Jillian is left to live with the awkwardness. But what makes it even more unbearable is the ghost who suddenly appears in her apartment. Despite all the mirrors, he has no reflection. Yet he claims to know Jillian and to be her friend.

As she works through the confusion that Daniel brings into her life, she finds herself opening in ways she hasn't done in years. But when he disappears again, just as mysteriously as he arrived, she's left to figure out why he'd been there in the first place.

Imagine her surprise though when she meets her "ghost" in real life (alive!).

This was a fun story this was, especially if you love books of self-discovery and redeeming love.

Thank you to Sarah Ready, W.W. Crown and NetGalley for an advance review copy.

Thank you NetGalley and W. W. Crown for sending this book for review consideration. All opinions are my own.
Ghosted by Sarah Ready is about Jillian, a dating and relationship advice journalist that can not talk to men herself. With her career on the rocks she moves into the only apartment that she can afford that comes with Daniel. The only guy she can seem to talk to... except he is dead.
I was intrigued and skeptical of the concept of a romance with a ghost when I first picked up this book. However, this book was incredible and was way better than expected. You are taken on an emotional roller coaster of a ride with this book. The relationship between these characters is so sweet and caring. Friends to lovers in the best way.
I loved the concepts in this novel. I don't want to spoil the twists of the novel but as you see further into the story the way their lives intertwine gets more and more interesting. Her relationship with her coworkers is amazing and they support her so much. You see Jillian grow as a person throughout the novel and it was so great to see.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book and would definitely recommend it to anyone who likes romance novels with an interesting twist. I will be looking out for more books from this author!

I'm a HUGE Sarah Ready fan - but this one sadly didn't do it for me. I LOVE magical realism and can even do a touch of time and space travel but I struggled with Ghosted :( I liked the characters and the premise of the book - I'm still keeping her on my pre-order everything sight unseen list - I'm sure this one just wasn't meant for me. Thank you to NetGalley and Sarah Ready for an audio advanced listers copy of Ghosted in exchange for an honest review. FANTASTIC narrators though!

How stinking cute is this story! Can’t say I’ve ever read a paranormal romance, but if this is any indication about this genre, sign me up for a few more. I don’t know, maybe I’m just obsessed with Sarah Ready?! This is my 3rd book by her this year. Although this wasn’t my favorite by her it’s still at the top of my list for romcoms.

I immediately loved the beginning of this story. It was quirky and funny. We meet Daniel (the hunky, shirtless ghost) and he doesn’t disappoint. I loved that we got to see Jillian’s confidence grow with the help of Daniel. There are some pretty deep and personal moments that are shared and you can’t help but feel the guilt and pain. I don’t really want to give too much away. Just know there’s a little bit of everything in this book.

Read if you like:
• rom coms with a paranormal aspect & a twist
• if you’re a Trekkie
• insta Love
• delicious food descriptions
• LOL moments
• light spice
• terrific narration

Thank you NetGalley and W.W. Crown for this audiobook arc of Ghosted in exchange for my honest review. Can I say, I’m Ready for the next book?!

When I read the premise for this book I was a bit sceptical but I really enjoyed The Space Between by this author so I requested it. I was not disappointed. This book was really fun and I enjoyed the variety of characters. Jillian & Daniel’s story was good and left me wondering where this story was going. The link to The Space Between made me happy as the Daily Exposé went to the Leighton Hughes charity ball. I thought the book was pretty long for a rom-com but it worked.

The dual narrators were fabulous and I really enjoyed the listen. I will be looking forward to the next one!

Thanks to NetGalley & W.W. Crown for a copy of this audiobook. It was great!

Just finished listening to the ALC from the author, and Sarah's done it again! I beautifully written, deep, thought-provoking book, as always.

The basic idea behind the story reminded me of "Twenties Girl", a vastly different and brilliant book by Sophie Kinsella. Ghosted felt well thought out in comparison, though I'll admit I struggled to wrap my head around the entire plot line and the twists. The only other negative is how the various phases or acts as I might refer to them didn't quite flow into one another. I could feel the abrupt switch in narration.

Moving on to everything I loved. Gillian was one of the best FMCs I've read! I love how well thought out her character is, with incidents to back up every little quirk of hers. She is her own unique person outside of her relationships, and the individual show time she got to herself gave great insights into her character.

Unfortunately, I didn't get to know Daniel as well, but enjoyed him most in the first act of the story, as a muddled, caring, lovable man. I loved how he wasn't afraid to be vulnerable and that was a magnetic quality.

A cross reference to "The Space Between", another book by Ready which came out this year was just what I needed to put a huge smile on my face. I'm not a fan of Star Trek or a science person as of such, but some concepts in the book intrigued me on further research. So, this book is great for reference lovers.

I found the work environment at Gillian's place the definition of a familial, healthy bond! I loved the blooming dynamic between the colleagues so lovely and heartwarming. I can compare it to that of siblings. Mutual love, exasperation, familiarity, comfort, and loyalty.

Coming to the audiobook narrators, I didn't find them as endearing as I had hoped. They weren't bad, I just didn't notice them to stand out with their performance for most of the listen.

10/10 recommend for a philosophical read with many short chapters. I will definitely come back to this book time and again.

4.5 ⭐️ This book has me right from the beginning. I laughed so hard at so many different scenes! I loved Jillian for an FMC, her quirks weren’t irritating, and she was super relatable. I love that she was such a Star Trek fan!! She even spoke Klingon at one point!!
Daniel and Jillian were amazing together. So so funny, extremely realistic, and absolutely heartwarming. I loved their little adventures around NYC. It’s always awesome to experience a little bit of a city I’ve never seen in person.
Everyone that works in Jillian’s office seems completely unhinged, and I don’t think I’ve ever been so entertained 😂
Okay, now, I cried. In 2 different places in this book. My heart hurt. I was a big sobbing snot bubble mess for the second cry. I was absolutely devastated by the events towards the end of the book, and it hurt so badly. The scenes after the big incident were perfectly done in my opinion. Jillian was doing the things she should, but you could feel the tension in her, the heartache. Beautiful.
The second epilogue….. okay, I’m sorry?! We have timeline hoppers for real?! NED GET IN HERE!!!! I finished the last nanosecond of this book with a massive smile on my face. I love that little twist!!
Basically, I really loved it, but I would have liked a little more exploration of Daniel and his “I remember”, especially with the addition of the second epilogue. I’m just a bit confused as to the how’s, so maybe I need to call Ned and have him walk me through it all 😂
Thoroughly enjoyed it, definitely worth a read.

RATING: ⭐⭐⭐⭐.5
SPICE: 🔥🔥.5

I was not ready for this book. I thought I was in for a good time; after all, it is just a fun romcom about a woman who ends up living with a ghost.

I. Should. Have. Known. Better.

Jillian was hoping that the cheap New York apartment she took a chance on would not be so bad. Sure, the wall-to-wall mirrors scream 70s love den, but it is nothing a lot of Lysol spray and wipes cannot fix. Unfortunately for her, Lysol cannot fix her ghost problem.

Yes, Jillian Nejat is apparently sharing her apartment with a shirtless, gorgeous ghost named Daniel who likes to butt into her business. And he has a lot of opinions when it comes to her job and dating life, which seem to be more lifeless than he is.

Once she gets over the initial shock and annoyance at having a constant ghostly companion, they both find that there is more to their connection.

I really enjoyed this book (and audiobook). Sure, I had to suspend some belief that someone who is incapable of talking to men and has never been in a relationship (much less a physical one) could be qualified to be a relationship expert, but then again, it is the Daily Expose.

I love the arc of Jillian and Daniel's relationship. Sarah Ready draws us in on a journey with our main characters that organically transitions them from ghost/haunted strangers to friends to lovers. Along the way, we get to unpack mostly Jillian's history in the first act and then Daniel's in the second, and uncover layers of complexity that make them who they are.

Their chemistry was definitely sizzling, though the spicy moments were mostly in the medium (no pun intended) category. We got some ghost-human action (after all, isn't that why we picked this read?) and more.

My second favorite thing about this book is Jillian's network. Ready delivers hilarious subplots about her neighbor Fran, her physicist best friend Serena, and her ragtag group of co-workers that had me laughing, giggling, and crying (in a good way).

This read beautifully as a standalone, though news on the grapevine indicates this will be a series with Serena being featured next, and I cannot wait.

AUDIOBOOK NOTES: The book and audiobook were mostly done from Jillian's POV, and I love Sarah Naughton's reading of Jillian. Even though the book itself was long, Naughton drew us into a complete immersion in this book universe. I felt like she made key scenes in the book come to life, and I really liked that.

This was a cute book and I really wanted to love it, because I loved both Jillian and Daniel, but I had a really hard time buying the ghost story.

The audiobook was well-read and is the reason I kept reading this book. The narrator did a great job and kept me engaged.

I didn't fully get on board with this one. It was sweet, but also a little too strange for me, personally

This book was really cute but I felt like the ending was rushed a little bit. I did love how Daniel really helped Jillian come out of her shell and grow more with relationships but felt like there was some instalove on her side due to him being the only man she can talk to. I do love that he also helped her become more confident which really helped her out about mid book when she needed to figure out the best way to make it work with Daniel.

Do you like unconventional love stories? I do! Which is why I was so eager to read Sarah Ready's Ghosted! Give me a weird paranormal moment and I am set!

Jillian is a down on her luck woman whose job as a "relationship expert" is being threatened by her lackluster understanding of love & relationships. Plus, she's just moved into her new apt. which appears to be straight out of a p0rn flick. Think mirrors, lots of mirrors. As a single bedroom apartment, she finds it quite unsettling to have a roommate. A very attractive, shirtless roommate named Daniel. Did I mention he is also dead? That's right! He's a ghost! And, as most ghost stories go, Daniel has some unfinished business! Initially unclear as to his purpose, he quickly figures he was sent to Jillian's to help her turn her life around! His plan: teach her how to date, fall in love, and give her a better understanding of relationships to boost her column! One date at a time, Daniel shows Jillian what it truly means to feel treasured, how to pick a winner, and how to fall in love! The only problem, she's starting to fall for him!

Ah! I don't want to spoil anything which means my review of the plot will be very vague! Just know I love a good twist! However, I will tell you that I loved Daniel and Jillian! I was slightly concerned that when Jillian was introduced as a Star Trek loving girl the plot would rely too heavily on this part of her personality but, I was wrong. It was just the right amount to play up her quirky, trekkie side and make her uniqueness shine. Daniel was swoony perfection! In all his ghostly wisdom, he knew exactly how to treat a lady, making him just the right "man" for Jillian! Daniel had a way of bringing out Jillian's confidence in a way that enhanced her true self, showing her that changing to make someone else happy isn't always the best path forward. There were plenty of funny, awkward, and surprisingly sexy moments in this unique read making it the perfect Spooky" read without a whole lot of Spook! I also love when supporting characters have a surprising, yet poignant impact on the main character and Jillian's coworkers have that quality in spades! Their morning meetings were some of my favorite crazy convos! My only complaint was the length and distribution of plot with the ending being a bit abrupt for my taste. Although long in length, I wished for just a bit more time with our characters at the conclusion of their crazy story an thought potentially some of the details earlier in the plot could have been left out to allot for this without jeopardizing the fun plot!

I voluntarily listened & reviewed an ALC of this book provided by NetGalley and IBPA. Thank you for this opportunity! All thoughts & opinions are my own.

How fun! I’ve read a couple of Sarah Ready’s books and always enjoy them. Ghosted was no different and I was excited to listen to the audiobook!

Jillian writes a relationship column, but is also incapable of speaking to men. With her life falling apart, she moves into a dirt-cheap NYC apartment. She soon discovers she has an unexpected roommate— a sexy, shirtless, six-pack wielding heartthrob who is also a ghost. Daniel is soon convinced that he must resurrect Jillian’s love life so he can move on.

Read this if you enjoy:
- Paranormal romance.
- Friends to lovers.
- Lots of spice.
- Deep and heartbreaking story lines.

This book was awesome, well written and a fun audiobook! Four stars!

Thanks to the author, W.W. Crown and NetGalley for the audio copy. I am voluntarily leaving my honest review.

I picked this audiobook because I love Sarah Ready’s books, this one lived up to my expectations.

I was not expecting the relationship to build the way it did, but that made me love it even more.

I can’t remember listening to these narrators in anything else I’ve listen to, but I did enjoy them!

Thank you NetGalley and Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA) for this audiobook. This is my honest voluntary review.
