This was a cute romcom about a shy, socially awkward nerdy lady who falls in love with a ghost. It has time travel, Star Trek, and a satisfying conclusion. I would give it 3.5 stars because although I enjoyed the main character's personality and character development, I found the story to drag on. I felt slumpy in the middle, but I am glad I persisted!

Ghosted by Sara Ready is like something I haven’t read before and it was a nice change. The best way to describe it is Just Like Heaven with a twist. Don’t worry I haven’t given anything away trust me.

Jillian Nejat is a dating and relationship expert the only catch is she kinda has a phobia of speaking to men. She just can’t do it and when she goes on dates she dates men who like to do the talking so she doesn’t have to. Jillian and her bff Serena are huge Star Trek fans, going to conventions and dressing up their favorite characters.

With her life a mess, bank account at zero, career a dumpster fire, and her dating life non-existent, she hasn’t had a date in 10 years. She makes the decision to an apartment in NYC that’s so tiny and dirt-cheap.

She soon learns that she is sharing her apartment with a man, who is a ghost, but doesn’t know that he’s a ghost and his name is Daniel. As it turns out he is the only man she talk to.

As they get to know each other Daniel is convinced that it’s his mission to help her overcome her fear of talking to men and fall in love so he can move on. Neither of them expected to fall in love…with each other.

I went between giving this audio book a 3.5 to 4 star for many reasons. The first being that it was way too long. Secondly there were parts where Jillian made me so mad because I was like what are you doing, you look crazy. There were many parts that were funny and I laughed quite a bit. I loved her co-workers, they were an interesting bunch. Hailey being my favorite of her co-workers, their friendship helped bring out a more confident version of Hailey. Daniel explaining to Jillian how men are and how they “pump and dump” is awesome I love their relationship. Overall, I loved it…it’s a great unique story and I recommend it. Thank you to NetGalley, W.W. Crown, and Sarah Ready for letting me read this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Ghosted by Sarah Ready is a fantastic read. It was my first book by this author and I absolutely loved it. The story took me on a roller coaster ride of emotions, I laughed, I cried, I swooned, I screamed, I was in utter disbelief and I loved it all.

The story follows Jillian Nejat, a dating and relationship columinist who is unable to talk to any man alive. She moves into an apartment that turned out to be haunted by Daniel, a ghost, (who only Jillian can see). He to believes his purpose is to help her fall in love and help resurrect her career before he can move on.

This was a beautifully written, other worldly tale about a paranormal love that was unlike anything I've come across. We get love, longing and humor between this unlikely couple and as we follow their journey, you won't be able to help yourself from rooting for them.

This is a story about forgiving onself, grief, moving on from the past, and dealing with insecurities. The author did a fantastic job with character development and I loved seeing Jillian's growth throughout the novel.

We are given a cast of diverse secondary characters from Jillian's childhood neighbor, to her best friend, to her coworkers, each character added support and balance and at times much needed hilarity to the story.

I was fully captivated with this novel and could not put it down. It's a story I don't think I'll ever forget and I would definitely recommit.

I listened to the audiobook version of this novel which was narrated by Sarah Naughton and Rob Brinkman. They both did a fantastic job bringing the characters to life. Their voices were clear and understandable and the gave each character their own personality and emotion. It was a pleasure listening to them narrate this novel.

Wow this book was long! At the beginning I honestly thought I would not finish it but it totally took me in!

Jillian and Daniel make the most beautiful couple, it's really sweet how Daniel just shows up but immediately knows that he knows her. Jill's BFF is the perfect BFF, I mean to instantly believe and support her story is really cool.

This story is full of emotions, there were parts that I could not hold my tears. I totally loved it.

Ghosted by Sarah Ready had all the potential for a charming and whimsical romance with a supernatural twist, but it ultimately disappointed me. The premise of a socially awkward dating expert, Jillian, being pursued by a charming ghost, Daniel, was intriguing. However, the execution fell short in several critical ways.

One of the most glaring issues was the lack of attention to detail and basic research. It's hard to believe that Jillian, with her financial struggles, could afford a prime New York City apartment near Times Square. The portrayal of New York City was superficial, lacking authenticity and depth, detracting from the overall experience.

The writing style came across as juvenile, with an overreliance on the word "says" as a dialogue tag and awkward chapter transitions that left me disoriented. The character development left much to be desired. Jillian's quirkiness bordered on instability, and her interactions with others felt contrived. It was challenging to root for a love story when one of the characters seemed so erratic.

The romance between Jillian and Daniel didn't feel genuine. The book's first half was fast-paced and enjoyable, but the second half lost its charm. The plot became predictable, and the story dragged on for far too long, making it feel like it was reaching for a word/page count rather than focusing on storytelling.

Additionally, the book's pacing issues and the main character's behavior made her appear as a stalker for a significant portion of the story. This aspect of the narrative was unsettling and detracted from the supposed romance.

In the end, Ghosted by Sarah Ready had potential, but it failed to deliver its promise. With better research, editing, and character development, this story could have been a delightful romantic comedy. Unfortunately, it fell short of expectations and left me feeling unsatisfied.

I normally don't like paranormal romance, but this one sucked me in and didn't let go. I could not stop listening to this. I really loved the narrator as well.
Ghosted is the story of Jillian, who lives in New York City, works as a romance columnist, and can not talk to men. She moves into a new apartment that is covered in mirrors. It is odd but also cheap, and she is determined to see the best in it. After her family leaves from moving her in, she is admiring her Star Trek Enterprise model when a man comments from inside her locked apartment that it is a big ship. She throws it at him, but he ducks. She talks to him without thinking. She finds him easy to talk to. He is gorgeous and shirtless, and Jillian fears she is about to die. She picks up the bat her dad left by the door for protection, and when she swings at him, it goes through him, and he disappears.
She calls her best friend and goes over the possibilities. She thinks she is either delusional or that this man is an alien. Her friend suggests he is a ghost. When he comes back, she realizes that he is indeed a ghost. They conclude they must help each other so he can move on. What ensues is a wonderful story of growth, love, and acceptance. I definitely recommend this one!

UGH It pains me so much to give this one a 2 star! I LOVE Sarah Ready books and would you just LOOK at that cover?! I really did like the characters in this book but the overall story just did not do it for me this time. I mean I do realize with a title like Ghosted -and the cover- I should expect a ghost however the ghost sex pushed me over the edge real fast. I don't think this one recovered after that for me, I was done. It's also a pretty long story and I found myself wishing that it would just hurry up already. Oh well I guess everybody has a dud every once in a while. That will not deter me from grabbing this author immediately when a new release hits the shelves!

I had read a few of Sarah's books and really liked them and this book was really up there.

I was hooked on the book from the first chapter, I couldn't stop listening. I loved the concept, the characters, the plot and of course the romance.

The chemistry between the characters is amazing, the way it is written is beautiful and you can just delve into the book and let yourself go. Halfway through the book the plot takes a 180° turn but you still can't stop reading and worrying about the characters you've already grown fond of.

This book was a breath of fresh air for me and I really enjoyed it from start to finish. I can only say that this beautiful book was worth reading and you will not regret reading it.

Thanks to Netgalley and Social Butterfly PR for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I loved the Josh and Gemma books so I was really looking forward to this one. Unfortunately for me, I didn’t get the same feel and humor that those books had. I gave up after 30% because I couldn’t get into it. The narrators were great though!

DNF - I adored The Space Between and so I went in with really high expectations for this book. It just wasn't for me, I couldn't get into it. Enjoyed the narrators though hence the neural star rating.

Jillian is trying to make the best out of her current situation. She is woefully inept when it comes to talking to men and she rented an apartment sight unseen. Mirrors are everywhere and she has a ghost. Daniel is the ghost who won’t leave her alone.

This was a new premise for me and I enjoyed it. Their banter was fabulous and their connection was great. While I think it could have been a little shorter in length, the story had me wondering how they would find a way to be together. I listened and/or read parts of this book (in order to finish) and was surprised with some of the plot.

I thought the narrators did a wonderful job of bringing these characters to life. I received an ARC an audio ARC and this is my honest, voluntary review.

This was an interesting take on a romance and kept me wondering until the end.

Jillian is having a rough time. With love, her job, etc. She rents a cheap studio apartment, cheap because there are mirrors everywhere. Little did she know it came with a ghost as well. One who goes shirtless and is very good looking.

She is struggling to write a column on relationship advice. The ghost, Daniel, has no memory of his life but hopes helping Jillian with her column can help him move on.

This was a different, but enjoyable read. I love that this author's books are always a bit different, but that the characters and storyline are so engaging.

Many thanks to NetGalley and W. W. Crown for both an ARC and ALC in exchange for my honest review.

While I didn't enjoy this one quite as much as The Space Between, this was still a decent read. Like the other book by Ms Ready it took me a bit to get into, and had some parts that didn't quite gel with the rest of the story, but overall it was a cute book and well narrated.

"I stopped punishing myself for a past I couldn't change. I stopped wishing for a future that couldn't happen."

In this love story that begins with death, once again, this writer has created characters that squeeze your heart while bringing you tears of laughter. Ghosted by RomCom master Sarah Ready may need you to suspend belief but will have you wishing for your own paranormal ghostly lover.

Jillian writes a relationship love advice column but can't talk to men in her own life. It gives her panic attack level anxiety. So imagine her finding the sexy shirtless Thor like Daniel in her new apartment...and he's a ghost! After the usual denying it, fighting it and lots of yelling at it, Jillian starts to accept it. Once they realize she's the only one who sees him and he's the only man she can talk to, they conclude he can't move on until he helps her with her anxiety.

Voice actors Sarah Naughton
and Rob Brinkman are their usual perfect comedic selves. The sexy bedroom voice of Rob Brinkman is needed for every romance audiobook. Check out his hilarious Instagram post voicing the word "Daddy."

With hilarious dates where Daniel stands behind Jillian's dates so she can talk to them, achieving "food orgasms" when she eats his favorite foods for him, and night long talks they fall in love. When he declares, "We can't have sex, but we can make love," was one of the most sensually written love scenes I ever heard.

There are fantastic quirky side characters. In fact, Jillian's scientist best friend Serena gets her own story in Switched on 2/20/24. How it started, how it ends is actually creative genius. In every book this author surprises me with twists, gasping romantic declarations of love and heartfelt emotions. She never ghosts me when I need the perfect ending.

I received a free copy of this audiobook from the publishers via #NetGalley for a fair and honest review. All opinions are my own.

BRBN Bingo Autumn Prompt: 'Super-Natural Main Character.'

I had read some of Ready's work before, so I already knew what to expect from that perspective when I picked up this new release. I wasn't disappointed! Although I'm not very familiar with the Paranormal Romance genre, I decided to give it a try and was happy to find that I really enjoyed it.

Certain parts of the story reminded me of the movies "Ghost" and "Meet Joe Black" from the 1990s, which was a good thing because I love both movies. The characters, Jillian and Daniel, were well-developed and unique, and the audiobook narration really brought them to life. The plot was emotional, with plenty of ups and downs that kept me interested and an unpredictable conclusion. I'm eagerly anticipating the release of book 2 in 2024.

The only negative thing I can say is that it was a bit slow for my taste, and I found the spicy parts to be a little strange. Despite that, I would recommend this book to fans of the author and anyone who is open-minded about paranormal stories.

'Ghosted' is out today - grab yourself a copy in time before the forthcoming spooky season.

Absolutely phenomenal! Thank you to Netgalley and W.W. Crown for this heart stopping audio/book!

I have never read a romance comedy and have been absolutely enamored! Sarah freaking Ready! You made me laugh, fall in love, shattered my heart to pieces…and then slowly put everything back together. I was ready to be okay with an ending where nothing went the way it should have and I would have been okay with it.

This book gave me Just Like Heaven vibes, the movie with Reese Witherspoon and Mark Ruffalo. If you loved this movie as much as I did then we will love this book. It is different and similar, but in the most amazing ways. The storyline seems the same in the beginning, but Sarah throws in twist after twist. This book exceeded my expectations in a short amount of time. Sarah Ready, you have become a new favorite author of mine.

“If I could live,” he says, “I’d live for you.”

Ghosted is Sarah Ready’s new book, which was out on 21 September.

The Story 📚
Jillian’s work life of being a journalist who gives out relationship advice couldn’t be further from her own life. In fact, Jillian finds it impossible to talk to men, and all her dates never get past the first outing.

In an attempt to start a new chapter, Jillian moves into a new apartment in New York city. Initially she thinks that the only weird thing about the apartment is that it is covered in mirrors. Until she finds out someone else is living there too. A sexy, shirtless guy called Daniel, who also happens to be a ghost.. Why is Daniel living in the apartment, and what does this mean for Jillian?

The Review 👩🏻‍💻
I was honestly a little disappointed with this book. Maybe I would have preferred to read it, but I listened to the audiobook. I’ve read many great reviews for the narrator, but it just wasn’t the right fit for me.

It’s long, at over 14 hours or 490 pages - but still lacked character development. Many parts of this could have been removed and not missed at all. While there was chemistry between the two main characters, they were lacking development as stand alone characters. Also, the second epilogue? I get what the author was trying to do, answer the many unanswered questions, but it felt so random and completely not needed. I think with development I could actually imagine this as a movie.

Thank you NetGalley for an advanced copy of this audiobook.

The narrator was so gash darn talented!!! It was so easy to tell which character is talking. Her male voice was pretty good, since I usually cringe at opposite genders trying to imitate each other's voices. She really elevated the story!!

Ghosted is the first book in the Ghosted series.

Jillian, an introverted, socially awkward, shy, dating and relationship expert (and huge Trekkie fan), who moves into a new apartment. As it turns out, it's completely haunted by a sexy, shirtless man. However, Things are never what they may seem.

Story:

⭐⭐⭐⭐💫/5

So this is basically a two-parter story. Things get WEIRD and totally WTF? by the second half. Jillian was completely relatable...OMG....to the point where I got secondhand embarrassment. I absolutely loved how much both Jillian and Daniel grew and learned from each other. I did hope for more of Daniel's viewpoint. He was also a likable character and it would have been interesting.

As I mentioned before, second half, things get weird. Interdimensional crossovers, timeline loops, Mandela Effect, whatever the heck you want to call them, makes my head hurt. It may have confused me a bit, HOWEVER, much kudos to this author for actually making this pretty plausible and realistic. This may have been a standalone, but definitely looking forward to Serena's story.

Narration:
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5

Sarah Naughton and even though we got a little bit of Rob Brinkman, they both did such a fantastic job! Both narrators were so soothing and so full of life. It was fun listening to them bring them to life.
