I thought the premise of this book was really cool. Unfortunately, the execution didn't do it for me. I thought this was going to be a book where it was bittersweet because they like each other and if they were both alive, they would be together but in the end the true purpose was how they help each other. That isn't what I got. First off, this book was too long. The audiobook was over 12 hours! Second, the author lost me when Daniel (ghost) somehow gave Gillian an orgasm?! What?! He is a ghost. "Light breezes" aren't going to get anyone to orgasm. Then it went on to them actually dating and yeah. I was done.

I appreciate W.W. Crown for gifting me an ALC of this book but unfortunately, it wasn't for me.

Ghosted is an enticing paranormal romance that I found to be amazing from the first chapter to the last!! It kept me hooked the whole time and before I knew it I had read the whole thing in one sitting!! I was so sad when it was over. That's what makes me know that this book needs to be on my bookshelf asap. I am a sucker for a good ghost romance and Sarah Ready delivered. I totally fell for and cried over this ghost. I will be recommending this book to anyone who will listen and re-reading. The spice level was good and placed in the best spots to keep us as readers wanting to keep reading. This book has been my favorite read of September thus far!! With that being said I decided to try to get the Audiobook as well and when I received it I did a happy dance. Both narrators for this audiobook did such a good job that I listened to it twice so far!! It was so well done. I feel so grateful to have been able to get both 🤍🤍

This book is sooooo good, and I’m not just saying this. I read this book and listened to the audio book. The dual narration and the twist and turns in the plot made me fall more and more in love with the characters. Please do yourself a favor and read / listen to this book.

Ghosted is a unique romantic novel that blends the supernatural with the everyday struggles of a young woman trying to make her way in the world. I have absolutely loved Sarah Ready’s previous books “The Space Between” “French Holiday” and many others but this one just didn’t resonate for me.

Jillian is a relatable and endearing character who is facing a myriad of life's problems, except she can’t seem to speak to any man - nada. When she moves into a tiny, run-down NYC apartment, she gets more than she bargained for when she discovers it's already occupied by Daniel, a hot ghost. Yes, you read that right—a ghost!

Sarah Ready is a pro at descriptive writing. All senses are engaged and she beautifully sets scenes and characters. The friendship chemistry between the characters is believable but I just couldn’t move past the living-dead romance. So… I think me not enjoying the book has more to do with me not enjoying the paranormal romance.

The narrator had a voice that was light and airy without sounding too young. It definitely added to the enjoyment.

Those that enjoy descriptive writing with a touch of paranormal romance will undoubtedly enjoy this book.

I received a complimentary copy of this book "Ghosted" and all opinions expressed are my own. I definitely like books that are out of the ordinary, quirky. The ghostly sex scenes was unnecessary for the story. It kind of ruined it really. The story dragged on a bit. Overall ok.

I read this as an audiobook, and as soon as I finished, I re-listened to the last chapters and epilogues because it is that good and that satisfying. The story really makes you think. At the same time, it’s romantic and funny, cute and sexy, heart wrenching and heartwarming, and probably one of the best romance books—no, one of the best books full-stop—that I have read in a very long time.

I know this will be added to my rotation of “must be reread several times in the future” books.

Honestly, you need this book! It’s that good!

My thanks to NetGalley and Swift and Lewis Publishing LLC for the advanced readers copy of this book. Please note my review is independent and my opinions are my own.

“You’re like a flame, I’m drawn to you. Everyone else is muted, but you burn bright.”
I went a little out of my norm with this one; I rarely do audiobooks and I generally read romcoms. The narrator did a great job so the audiobook experience was a good one! The story kept me interested wondering what was going to happen and how it would all end. It felt like Jillian and Daniel were fated to be together. If you enjoy sweeping epic love stories that hurt your heart then you’ll enjoy this one.

This book was SO CUTE. I think the story was super creative and I really enjoyed it! I was trying to come up with how the story was gonna end but once I saw where it was going I was surprised and intrigued which definitely kept me interested.

I absolutely adored Daniel. I had a hard time with Jillian at first cause I thought her character was a little odd. She’s painfully shy to the extent that she can’t even speak to men (think Raj from big bang theory) so I found that a little extra. But I grew to really enjoy her character.

Overall I really enjoyed the story though. It was unique and fun 🥰

MILD SPOILER AHEAD. SKIP IF YOU HAVEN’T READ 🚨🚨🚨🚨

I was a little underwhelmed with the ending. Just the very end, it felt a little to convenient and I would have liked a little more from it.

A cute shirtless male ghost is inhabiting your new apartment?! Yes please! Jillian is in a slump and moves into a new apt, that also seems to have been a bit of a party spot. I love Jillian’s personality, she is witty and fun. This had me laughing out loud multiple times during this book at conversations that were had.

I loved that ghost Daniel helped her out in both work and her love life. At one point this book did get a little freaky for my liking and was questioning the whole thing. But shortly after it took a sharp left turn and threw us in a whole different direction. I loved where it went and was right back into it! It ended on a good note and will happily recommend it.

2.5 Stars
Unfortunately this book just wasn't for me, It felt like there were multiple book ideas crammed into one story. Until about 50% into the story I really didn't like it, then it changed. I started to enjoy the story and then it changed again turning me back to disliking it.
I thought the narrator and then for the second epilogue narrators did a great job. They spoke clearly, were expressive, and didn't over act when switching to another characters voice (which can kill an audiobook for me).

This book was super cute. I loved getting to know the characters and how they grew through out the book. As much as I would have loved to give this book more than a 3 star rating but the thing that really bothered me were that it was ok for the main characters to be okay with stalking someone. I felt like it was a huge part of the last half of the book. It also seemed that the main love interest was ok with the whole following him wherever he went. I just wish the author went about it in a different way

Is it possible to love every single book by an author?! I think so!

Another beautiful story by @authorsarahready. This one was different from her other novels as it includes a paranormal aspect to it. I was a little hesitant to read it since I’m not normally one for ghosts in books, but as usual Sarah navigated the topic beautifully.

I loved falling in love with these characters, and seeing their growth and development throughout the book. It’s always my favorite when I can truly root for the MC’s, and Sarah always delivers there.

This style of book isn’t for everyone, but if you can look past the paranormal parts if that’s weird for you, there truly is a beautiful story here and I’m so happy I gave it a chance!

Excellent narration by Sarah Naughton and Rob Brinkman!

Thank you @netgalley and @sarahauthorready for the opportunity to read and review this book before its pub day on September 26th.

I hesitated to start this book because I am not a sci-fi or paranormal fan, but who can resist a romance story with a hot ghost? The beginning reminded me of the movie Just Like Heaven. I was intrigued by the plot and thought the two Daniels (one ghostly and one living) twist was unique. The romance between Jillian and Daniel was so cringe, though. They became quickly obsessed with each other after Daniel appeared in her apartment. It was uncomfortable, and their ghostly sex scenes were very awkward. It was hard to listen to them as I was cringing at work. Although the Instalove troupe was very out there, I still thought it was a cute story and the idea that love will prevail over all. I also loved that Jillian developed confidence during the book. The ending was good, too. I am not sure if paranormal romances are my thing, but I am still glad that I listened to the audiobook. Both Sarah Naughton and Rob Brinkman did a fantastic job.

Thank you to NetGallery and to W.W. Crown for my copy of the book

I will say going into this I had no clue what this book was about, this was purely a cover read for me. But ok wow I really enjoyed this. This was a really solid romance and a great mix of romance and hard topics. I will forever dislike the second act break up but this one made up for it and was an actual good plot for the story. I loved Jillian and Daniel. They both had their quirks but were super fun to read about. I also loved the cast of side characters, they were all so fun and added a lot to the story. Overall, impressed and enjoyed a lot!

I am not usually a fan of paranormal romances but this one somehow held my attention from the start. I’ve always heard great things about Sarah Ready and am glad I got the chance to read this book. Great humor and banter, good interconnected relationships, friendships and family dynamics. I could not put it down. Happy, satisfying ending as well

Ghosted by Sarah Ready: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Format: ALC provided by W. W. Crown and NetGalley

Five star review alert!! 🥳

Out of 134 books I’ve read this year, I have only given 6 of them perfect five star ratings. To get the full 5 stars, there should not be a single thing that I would change about the book. I give them very very sparingly.

Ghosted by Sarah Ready is number 7 to get a perfect score from me this year. When I tell you that I loved this book, I 👏 LOVED 👏 THIS 👏 BOOK! 👏

There is so much to love about this book. We have a delightful FMC Jillian, who has some flaws she’s working on but is humble, unapologetically herself, and always kind. We have a large cast of lovable side characters who are always supportive of Jillian and have unique and quirky personalities. We’ve got EVERYONE getting their character development on. At 450 pages/14 hours of audio, this is on the longer side, but zero part of this book dragged in my opinion. It was the perfect pace!

The main romantic themes are insta-love, star-crossed soulmates, fake-ish dating, and a dash of friends to lovers. There’s not much I can say about the plot without spoilers, but I will say that it goes WAY beyond what is laid out in the blurb. Ghosted made me laugh out loud, it pulled at my heartstrings, and I didn’t want it to end! I won’t be accepting any criticism for this book.

I went into this book completely blind and with no expectations, and I’m so thrilled that I found this amazing book! I wholeheartedly recommend this book to rom-com readers. I would give this 1-2 🌶️ on the spicy scale.

Thank you to W. W. Crown and NetGalley for the ARC and ALC of Ghosted, which publishes on September 26.

I wasn’t sure about this book going into it, but the cover looked pretty so I thought “why not”. This story was so intriguing and captivating, I was so invested in the relationship between Daniel and Jillian and somehow the whole Ghost romance did not bother me at all. The fantastical ghost element was so effortlessly worked into the story and was explained within the universe so incredibly well. I wasn’t 100% invested in the side plots but I don’t believe that was the author’s purpose.
Somehow a book about a ghost made me feel so cozy, and it was such an innocent and simple love story.
Overall rating 4/5 stars

I requested this book & audiobook because I had just read 'The Space Between' by Sarah Ready last month and loved it. Thought another Sarah Ready book would be great.
I alternated between the audiobook and ebook. Both experiences were great.
The way Sarah writes her stories, makes me want to keep reading (or listening) and I can't put the book down. I want to find out what happens next. There was a lot of descriptive words describing sight, sounds, touch, smells etc...of the world around the main character. The narrators in the audiobook - Sarah Naughton and Rob Brinkman deliver engaging and believable characters. I recommend this book and audiobook to anyone who enjoys cozy paranormal romances. It was a pleasure to listen to the audiobook and read this book. I enjoyed the 'ghost' aspect of the book and the different perspective.

Thank you for the advance copy NetGalley, Sarah Ready, W.W. Crown and IPBA for the ARC.

I'm just gonna say right now that the biggest reason I loved this book was because of the Star Trek references (hello fellow Trekkies/Trekkers 👋🏼). Hands down would not be able to rate this book less than 3 stars for that reason alone. However, luckily for me, it was also a fun story that had me wondering how on earth these two were going to be together in the end.

Tropes:
Paranormal/Sci-fi romance
Ghost hero & only she can see him
Billionaire MMC
Journalist FMC
Star Trek Fandom
Virgin FMC
Trauma/healing
Soulmates vibes
Insta-love
Angsty
Single POV

Although this story takes place in present-day times, the paranormal aspect with Daniel being a ghost gives this a cool twist. I automatically thought of the movie Just Like Heaven with Reese Witherspoon and Mark Ruffalo (which is a big reason I wanted to read this book because I loved that movie). The plot does follow a similar structure to the movie but also brings its own uniqueness with the characters' personalities. I loved how Jillian grew in the story and was able to heal from her grief with the help of Daniel. They both needed and helped each other but in different ways and at different times in the story...

I will admit that for people who are expecting a pure contemporary romance, they will not like the insta-love of this book. But with those who know paranormal romance, fated mates and soulmates are the bread and butter of that genre. So it didn't annoy me the way it normally would if I wasn't expecting it.

As far as the side characters, I didn't really get super invested in them as I usually do with other romances. But that's OK... a few were memorable and had their fun personalities, but my focus was more on the MCs and trying to see how they'll end up together.

Overall, I highly recommend to all my fellow romance loving Star Trek fans. Also, paranormal romance fans will like this one, too. The spice is low and more focused on the emotion than actual descriptions, but was still open door. I was able to listen to the book and thoroughly enjoyed how the narrator brought each character to life. And that second epilogue... it was just wonderful 😚🤌🏽

"We made love. I made love with Daniel. I'm in love with Daniel. It's wonderful. It's terrible. Because when you're in love with a man who is already dead, there's no way to make a life together. There's no life at all."

Jillian a 27 years old woman with a terminal inability to speak to men she's a hopeless romantic and has a belief that one day she will find someone she's able to talk to and who can see her for her true self but she had no idea that this man will be a ghost.

It's an OPPOSITE ATTRACTS

PARANORMAL ROMANCE
FRIENDS TO LOVERS STORY that will shatter your heart and mend it in the most surprising way.
Full of humour and heartfelt moments.
Lovable characters with an amazing setting.
The only thing that made 4⭐ not 5 it is that it's too long for my taste other than that everything was perfect.
Therefore, I suggest you going into this book blind it will make the journey a lot better and much more surprising and if you like you could listen to the audio book which and it was really good.
