An unexpected story about a girl who falls in love with a ghost and then happens to meet him in real life! The wittiness and humor in this book combined with some additional unexpected emotions made for a delightful read! The spicy parts were definitely a perk for sure!
I really see the similarities with the movie Just like heaven, which was a really good surprise, you can tell the inspiration of that really good movie.
I really liked the book and the characters the reason they actually know each other is kind of confusing, it reminds me a little of the movie Your name.
It was a great read I didn't read the blurb before reading this book because I really loved the cover and also with the tittle you can tell the subject of the book, but it was just so amazing reading the first chapter and REALLY see where the book was going.
Usually I don't really like paranormal romance book because I feel like sometimes they are kind of boring and maybe a little over the top but this one was fast paced and it had a lot of things goibg on, some of them confusing but the author tries her best to explain it
I felt like this book is for people that prefer closed door scenes, you have one that is kind of open but isn't that explicit.
I feel this is a good book for people that maybe don't really like books where they just show a lot of sex scenes there is even a scene in the book where they say the characters want intimacy first.
Listening to the audiobook was really good and loved the author and it was just so relaxing and made me be more and made the experience more enjoyable, I really liked the narrators I was confused at first beacuse it said it had two narrators and we didn't have the two povs of the characters until the very end and it felt really good after a while have someone else tell the story.
I really enjoy Sarah Ready's books so I was excited to see she had a new one coming out. This one follows Jillian as she befriends and then finds herself falling in love with a ghost. I don't usually like paranormal reads but this one was actually quite sweet. Might be a good one to read over spooky season if you like your spooks to be a little lighter and with a touch of romance!
Ghosted by Sarah Ready is her newest release. It is about Jillian Nejat. She moved into a new apartment, and a ghost appeared. The ghost, Daniel, couldn’t remember who he was, where he came from, or how he died, but he was the only man she could talk to besides her father. Jillian’s life, including darting and professionally, was in the toilet. Daniel concluded that his purpose was to help Jillian fall in love, and then he could move on. But as they practiced dating something happened. What does one do when she has fallen in loved with a ghost?
I am a newer reader of this author’s work, but I have loved every book I’ve read. I can now state definitively that I am a fan. The author weaves words to create stories that are rich with description and emotion. Her characters are multifaceted and impossible not to love. Jillian has so many quirks and gets into predicaments that had me laughing out loud. Daniel showed varied aspects of his personality in different circumstances. His light irreverence and tendency toward innuendo also kept the comedy going strong, especially in contrast to Jillian’s purity, I truly couldn’t imagine how this pair would reach their happily ever after, but Ms. Ready managed it handily. I listened to this book as an audiobook and highly recommend the experience. The narrators were perfect for their characters and both enhanced the book experience for me. I recommend this book for readers who love contemporary romcoms with a slight paranormal bend. They could be enjoyed by fans of Laura Pavlov or Mary Kay Andrews. I am voluntarily submitting this honest review after listening to an advanced complementary copy of this audiobook thanks to Netgalley and W. W. Crown Audiobooks.
Wow! Ghosted is an EPIC love story! I was hooked immediately and binged the book in a day. I am a huge fan of both magical realism and romance. The two combined is a big win for me! I will say that it’s important to suspend disbelief in order to enjoy this book. It’s far-fetched in some ways, but fully enjoyable if you let yourself fall in.
I found the main character to be so lovable and easily relatable. I found her shy nerdiness and sense of humor to be endearing. The way she blossomed into her own overtime was beautiful and it didn’t hurt that MMC Daniel was a total dreamboat. I also found a soft spot for many of the side characters. Sarah Ready really knows how to create lovable characters!
Though I did feel like this story could have been a little shorter, I still found myself curious enough to keep moving through to the good parts. I also felt like I read two loves stories in one as the story time hops in a way that causes the characters to fall in love both separately and together. That was a cool experience!
All in all, Ghosted was a creative out-of -the-box love story that brought me to a place beyond time and space where only love exists!
The narrator’s voice was smooth and lovely, she did an impeccable job conveying emotions and doing distinct voices. I will be looking for more audiobooks read by her in the future!
Thank you to NetGalley for the advanced copy
I LOVED this book. By the time I got to about chapter 10, I could not put it down! I am a huge romance reader so it's not often I see a plot that is totally unique to me, but this book was it!
In this book, Jillian is haunted by the ghost of Daniel when she moves into a new apartment. The two of them had so much chemistry it made me squeal, giggle, kick my feet, you name it. I think what made the book so un-put-down-able for me was just Jillian and Daniel's chemistry. I could not get enough of them together! The book also had sooo much mystery and intrigue which I don't often get with romance novels, so I really loved that aspect of it!
The only thing I didn't really like about the book was how Jillian couldn't talk to men, like at all. It is explained why, but I didn't find it very believable and made her character a little annoying at times (one scene in particular at a restaurant).. That being said, it did not take away from my enjoyability of the book, but it was the only thing that kept this from being a 5 star book for me!
Thank you to Netgalley for allowing me to listen to this audiobook in return for an honest review. I am a big fan of Sarah Ready so I was excited to hear the new book. I have to admit I was a little sceptical to begin with as the blurb didn’t sound like something I would usually read. I am so glad that I gave it a chance as I ended up really enjoying it. I was routing for Gillian from the start, a really relatable character with depth. The ending was perfect and explained everything. I have given it 4 stars.
I love this authors writing so much! She really makes you feel. I normally don’t like books about ghosts but this one had another layer I enjoyed so much. The love story, heartbreak and ending were perfect.
Jillian meets Daniel, her smoking hot apartment ghost. They fall in love, but nothing can come of it, right?
This was a really enjoyable read. I thought the story was going to go in a different direction, but I’m happy with the outcome. They had witty banter, chemistry, and you could feel their emotions. Happy I read it!
Thank you NetGalley for an audiobook copy in exchange for an honest review.
Thank you NetGalley and WW Crown for this ARC and for introducing me to Sarah Ready. This is the second book I read by her and she's quickly becoming a must read author for me.
Ghosted is a whimsical love story...don't try to make sense of it, simply enjoy the ride and fall in love with the characters and their story.
I really enjoyed it! thanks again for giving me this opportunity.
I received an ARC of the audiobook from NetGalley and absolutely loved the female narrator.
Jillian can’t talk to men and David is a shirtless ghost that shows up in her apartment. After some time they assume David is meant to help Jillian with her love life and in some ways maybe they’re right.
The plot definitely moves a little slower than I would’ve preferred; the first 50% could’ve been condensed. The payoff at the end to figure out David’s purpose for hanging around makes the read worth it.
This is a cute paranormal romance book! I did feel the first part of the book to be a little dull, and dragged on. I did have a hard time keeping my focus as there was a lot going on. The audio narration was great though!
What an interesting and unique story.
I have to admit, reading the synopsis, I couldn't think of how a ghost and a living person could possibly have a happily ever after but the author totally pulled it off.
There was even a romance within a romance and I was sure that the author was going to draw it out to have a second book in a series but I was grateful that we got to see a happy resolution without having to wait for another book (although I would have happily read that too).
Overall I enjoyed this audiobook. The narrator was easy to listen to. I was not sure what to expect with a romance involving a ghost. The first half of the book I had a difficult time with her romance with a ghost. I did enjoy the second half of the book plot twist. It was a well written romance I just struggled with the main character falling in love with a ghost.
It was on a whim that I decided to read this novel. The summary sounded appealing and brought together several points that I like in romance: a bit of fantasy (especially with a ghost!), a sort of "forced proximity", and characters who sounded a tad comic and sassy. It was one of the best decisions I've ever made, given how much I loved it!
Jillian is the kind of character you get attached to very quickly. I loved her temperament, her personality, and her voice (as part of the audiobook). As for Daniel, it's hard not to fall in love with him too. He's funny, honest, mischievous and absolutely adorable. The real plus of this story is that it feels like you're reading two romances one after the other, but with the same characters, the same environment. Except that we're already so attached to their story that we're even more invested in the romance.
I have absolutely nothing to complain about in this story, apart from a tiny bit of easiness at the end, but it's so sweet and cute that we wouldn't want anything else anyway!
This was a romance with a bit of sci-fi thrown in. Jillian is apparently a relationship “expert,” but she CANNOT even speak to men…unless they are dead. She moves into a new apartment [site unseen]—it’s covered in mirrors (possible sex pad?). AND it’s already occupied—by a ghost, Daniel. Since Daniel is dead, Jillian has no issues speaking to him. Daniel makes it his mission to turn Jillian’s dating life around.
I had moments where I really liked this book and moments where it felt like more of a chore to listen to. There was a bit too much science-fiction and Star-trek references for me and not enough “action.” I would recommend this book if you are into romance and Star-trek/the multiverse—but I certainly struggled to follow along to some of the references and overall this book did not suck me in.
The writing style itself was good, but the topics/content just wasn’t for me. I would definitely give this author another chance though! Also, I loved the voices of both narrators!!
As a fan of paranormal romance, I feel so excited and intrigued with this, plus it's in audiobook format. I'M SOLD!!!
It's cute but wild, I like it. The narrator also added a nuance and personality to the emotions of each character. I highly recommend this book if you're a fan of paranormal romance, a bit of mystery, high tension, and cute romance.
Audiobook review - fantastic narration with the perfect voice, inflections and emotional depth to really bring this story to life!

This story was a bit wild, but it was SO cute! I really loved it because it was so unique. Sarah Ready is quickly becoming my favorite romance author because her stories are intriguing and balanced. There is so much heart and emotions in her stories. The characters in this book were so fun and relatable. I also loved the small references to her last book "The Space Between".
I would highly recommend this book.
Special thanks to #NetGalley for the ARC! This book was AMAZING. I was hooked from page one. I’m not usually a fan of this type of paranormal, but it was so so cute! The book was easy to follow, and made me lol through most of it. I HIGHLY recommend adding this to your TBR!
