Honestly my review on Goodreads says it all, including spoilers. This book made me want to stop reading because of the strange sexual encounters between a living human and a ghost. I almost did not finish. I continued because I was given an opportunity to have the ARC.
If you love paranormal romance this book is for you. This was not for me. That being said the author haas a great way of connecting you to the characters and what they are feeling. The love was felt all over the pages! This is why I gave the book 3 stars. I am recognizing that it was just not my kind of book, it may be for you!
Ghosted by Sarah Ready was a truly unique and compulsively readable ghostly romance, perfect for fans of Ashley Poston's The Dead Romantics.
Jillian's entire life is a mess. She's a relationship advice columnist who can't speak to men--literally, she can't form words around them--and her bank account is embarrassingly low. She snags an apartment that she's pretty sure used to be a seggs den (there are mirrors on the walls and the ceiling). Other than that, the only problem is it's already occupied--by a ghost.
Daniel appears out of nowhere, shirtless, wearing ripped jeans, and 100% certain they know each other. Jillian is pretty sure she'd remember him--and she's sure they've never met. Apparently she can talk to men...if they're dead. Together they work to breathe new life into her advice column and increase Jillian's confidence around men, but all this time they're spending together leads to feelings--but what do you do when you realize you've fallen in love with a ghost?
The twists and turns this story take are creative and fun and unpredictable. Overall, it was a really fun romance. Would definitely recommend. I loved how Ready tied everything together at the end. It was perfect!
The audiobook was a wonderful way to experience the story. The narrators both did a great job with their individual performances. It was the perfect kind of story to listen to while washing dishes, chauffeuring my kids, and vacuuming the entire house (over and over) until the story was over.
So this isn’t my usual genre – I’m a crime/thriller kinda girl, but something about this book drew me in. I’m comfortable enough to admit I may just have been attracted to this book by the cover – I absolute LOVE the colours and loved the mystery with the title.
This story was simply MAGICAL. This is so much more than your average love story. The characters face into their fears, hurt, grief and are open about their struggles and give each topic enough respect that you genuinely feel their emotions. You feel the closeness, intimacy and vulnerability in both Jillian and Daniel and while you know in your mind this can’t possibly end the way you want it to, it encourages you to dream, wonder what if? And make you want to take that leap of faith and believe in true love. I listed to this on audiobook and there were times where I was actually sobbing, but there were times when I didn’t realise I was crying – some moments were that tender.
I went into this really sceptical if I’m completely honest, but oh my – I was pleasantly surprised. This was a beautiful and unique story. Sarah - thank you for allowing me to spend time in Jillian’s world. I loved every minute of it!
I couldn't stop listening - 5 stars!

I think Ghosted is my favourite Sarah Ready book to date! Great story, characters, full of humour, love, passion, and hope.
Blurb: Jillian, a dating and relationship expert, can’t speak to men. That is men who are alive. When she moves into a small NYC apartment she realizes she can speak to a man who is not alive.
Daniel, is confused. He thinks he is alive and cannot understand what is happening to him. Once he accepts he is a ghost he believes, in order to move on, he needs to help Jillian to not only talk to men but to fall in love. But, as the case with any good romance, Jillian finds herself falling in love with the only man she can’t have.
This was such a good book! The narration by Sarah Naughton and Rob Brinkman was fun and engaging, keeping the listener waiting for what would happen next. The pacing was good and it seemed to end far before I was ready for it to. I admit that I initially thought this story was too similar to the Seven Year Slip (which I loved) however the similarities end at sharing an apartment with a ghost. It soon becomes clear this story has unique characters and plays out much differently. I highly recommend this book/audiobook.
Many thanks to NetGalley and the Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA), Members' Audiobooks for early access to this ALC audiobook for my honest review.
AHHH!! let me just say i hoped but did not expect to love this book as much as i did. i’m so glad i was proved wrong!!!
I will say i didn’t know how this book was gonna go and the only thing i cared about was getting my endgame. so glad i did!!!
This book made me cry and laugh and smile so much. Jillian & Daniel stole my heart so fast and i loved all the side character and their relationships as well.
The plot was amazing and creative, i love that i’ve never read book with this plot before so it was a brand new experience
This is my first Sarah Ready book but it most certainly won’t be my last!!
An interesting, fantastical spin on the romance genre. Though at times it is a bit slow-paced, and I think it could have ended earlier (the second half does drag a bit), overall it is a fun and enjoyable read with likeable characters and an interesting review of the world of dating
Ghosted by Sarah Ready is a paranormal romance with plot twists and a story with a happy ending.
This book is one of the most unique and interesting reads I've ever read this year! I thoroughly enjoyed being part of the journey of Jillian's and Daniel's love story. Their story is one of grief, acceptance, and also a little bit nerdy!
I love the quirks each characters have, as well as their banter and the ease of their relationship. I wanted to just keep reading this book and couldn't put it down! Sarah Ready has once again captured my attention with lots of heartache, hope, and affection towards her character.
I am not Star Trek fan but she definitely made me want to watch the whole enterprise!!!
There are a few reasons that I didn't give this book a full 5 stars and that is mostly because I wanted MORE!!! I wanted to read more of Daniel and more of the ending. I wanted more groveling, and I think it would have been nice if we could get Daniel's POV.
That being said, I love, love, love this book and am now a Sarah Ready STAN!
This is another romance that I overall enjoyed! And I just didn’t know how it was going to end as we have so many turns! How could it be a HEA (Happy Ever After) when one is dead and a ghost and the other is alive? I didn’t know if we were going to have an ending like the movie Ghost or something else. I had some ideas in my head, and one went along the way the book did, with some differences!
We definitely had character development with both Jillian and Daniel with part of it being Jillian not being able to talk to men at all. I wasn’t really a fan of that as it wasn’t really resolved other than she wasn’t able to talk to men then suddenly she was able to. That could have been left out with her just being extremely shy.
It seems longer for a romance novel at just over 450 pages/ 14 hours for the audio, but it kept moving the whole time! Jillian is a huge Star Trek nerd and there were references throughout the novel, so if you know Star Trek at all, you will catch them. But if you don’t know a thing about Star Trek it will go over your head.
The narrators (it is mainly Sarah Naughton narrating) did a very good job portraying the characters. There was some spicy to the story. I’d say a 2 out of 5 on the spice level.
This is my second Sarah Ready novel I have listened to this year, and I think I will keep a lookout for her with other novels she writes!
Many thanks to the publisher for granting me an alc to listen to and review!
I have and still have so many mixed feelings about this book. In the beginning, I wasn't so sure about it, then I went with the flow and started liking it, then something happened and I thought that I was not sure if I should still go with it then again by the end I started loving it.
Don't get me wrong, I love a good fiction book and this is what this book delivered. However, even if I ended up loving it, not sure if this story is what I was expecting or hoping it would be
The whole love story was so heartwarming and it made me root for the main characters who seemed to be so cute.
Lastly, I would like to thank NetGalley, the publisher and the author for giving me an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Jillian is lost after losing a friend and with that her confidence. Her job is on the line, and she moves into a new apartment only to be met by a sexy ghost. Daniel, the ghost, and Jillian become intertwined with the idea that Daniel needs to help Jillian in order for him to move on, but in the end Jillian also needs to help Daniel.
Yep, so “Ghosted” is a paranormal romance set in the hustle and bustle of NYC. I’m not one for major fantasy, but this had the right blend for me.

SUMMARY:
jillian has just moved into a new apartment, and discovers that she has a ghost living there with her. his name is daniel, and he appears shirtless in just a pair of jeans, and he’s also super hot. jillian has a lot of trouble talking to men (i.e. literally has not spoken to a man in years). as they get to know each other, daniel helps jillian practice talking to men. in the process, they realize that they might like each other. the only problem is that daniel is not alive.
WHAT I LIKED:
the first half of this book was so cute! that’s my favorite part about romance novels, watching the couple realize they have feelings for each other. the “lessons in dating” trope was really well-executed here.
WHAT I DIDN’T LIKE:
the book could have ended around 200 pages earlier, imo. the last half of the book felt sooooo drawn out. it ended up having a sweet ending, but i wish it had ended earlier.
TLDR:
read ghosted if you’re looking for a sweet rom-com with some paranormal aspects! recommended to anyone who loves the “lessons in dating” trope and doesn’t mind long books.
Thanks to NetGalley and Sarah Ready for allowing me to read Ghosted and give my true, honest opinion. Jillian is a nerdy, adorable, Trekkie whose life can be best described as a dumpster fire. For example, her family friend keeps setting her up with guys that are a terrible match and that she can’t even speak to. Her relationship advice column is flailing as her advice is not helpful and she just moved into an apartment that she keeps referring to as a sex den. What she doesn’t know is that hot, shirtless Daniel used to live in her apartment and she is the only one who can see him. She goes to a psychic who tells her that maybe if they help each other Daniel can finally crossover and move on. So of course Daniel helps her get her writing career back to a better place, gets her to stop going on blind dates, and helps her learn how to talk to men again. Incredibly cute and would absolutely read again!
A wonderful, magical, heartwarming love story. Jillian and Daniel's paths cross because they need each other. They are the only that can save their lives and be able to reach happiness and love. Sarah Ready talent with words, feelings, emotions us amazing. The audiobook with Sarah and Rob is awesome.
I thought I knew what would happen, boy was I wrong! I enjoyed the story and the narrators. Jillian and Daniel are cute together. Thanks to NetGalley for this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.
Thank you, NetGalley and W.W. Crown, Independent Book Publishers Association for granting me access to this book in exchange for an honest review.
I really love Sarah's books, and this one doesn't disappoint. This is the story of Jillian a girl who can't talk to men but can talk to Daniel, the hot phantom that haunts her apartment. They are both set on saving each other.
The plot takes you to many possibilities of why he is a ghost, and Jillian is helped by a magnificent cast of secondary characters.
This book was totally different than what I expected. These days we think of ghosted as someone no longer responding to texts or call, so I was surprised when a ghost became part of the story. This book will make you laugh, scratch your head and think about how all this could be possible. In the end it was a cute book that flowed easily, was a good albeit different story and had a good ending.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to listen to the book early.
I enjoyed the two storylines, and they were skillfully woven together. The supernatural theme was seamlessly integrated into this book.
Thank you, NetGalley and IBPA for the chance to listen and review another book by Sarah Ready. I enjoyed listening to Ghosted so much; however, I was so close to DNF because of the plot and my own assumptions. At first, I thought "hell nope, this better not be forbidden because I'm also falling in love with this Daniel man, who happens to be a ghost... I can't do this!" BUT I, of course, continued listening to the story, and hell yasss, it made me feel all the feels. I couldn't understand the ghost thing, but I think it is time travel, It is the only thing I didn't like, the topic felt like it needed more explanation, or maybe it's just me. This is the second paranormal book I have read, and I felt a little hesitant about requesting it because the first paranormal "ghosty" book left me with a sour taste, but Ghosted was a total success for me. The chemistry between Jillian and Daniel (the handsome ghost ♥) was superb, I honestly kept wishing for them to either make this work or just understand that they cannot have a relationship. As you can tell, love won, hahaha.
Quick Summary: A beautiful supernatural romance
My Review: Ghosted by Sarah Ready stole my heart. I absolutely loved it. It was so sweet and utterly unique. It reminded me of Ghost, The Lake House, Sliding Doors, Somewhere in Time, and Truly, Madly, Deeply all rolled up into one. It was tragic and heartwarming at the same time.
What I Liked: There were so many things to like about this story. The characters were peculiar and endearing. The leads were easy to relate to. They were somehow familiar. I really appreciated how both of the main characters fought to find their own version of happiness despite the hardships they faced. I also liked their meet cutes and the reunion scenes. They were priceless.
About the Characters: Everyone that was associated with this story played their role so well. I liked every character, from the grump to the style guru with the sports knowledge. Even Daniel's sister with her feisty ways and the neighbor mom with her matchmaking tendencies -- I understood them. I'll just say that there was a lot of love happening in this novel.
About the Ahas: Hidden nuggets were weaved into the storyline. Science, conspiracy theories, temporal twists, paranormal activity and more were mentioned. Those things kept the story engaging. It added just enough texture to make the story action entertaining.
About the Intimacy: Much has been said (by other readers) about the coupling that happened between Jillian and Daniel when he was in his ghost form. It is my hope that readers will begin to see that the emphasis should not be on the physical-supernatural act of Jillian and Daniel's togetherness, rather the focus should be on the intimacy that they shared. There was so much depth to what was really taking place in the noted scenes. It went deeper than the obvious. It unraveled both characters on an emotional level. I thought it was brilliantly done.
My Final Say: This "New Adult/Romance/Women's Fiction" book was outstanding, in my opinion. I believe readers who enjoy ghosty love stories and/or stories with the inevitability of finding a forever love will adore this novel. It defied logic in the very best way.

Ghosted by Sarah Ready was a great listen. The narration helps keep you invested in the characters and story. I loved seeing the growth by the main characters as the story developed.
Jillian is one of the main characters. The story begins when she moved into her new apartment. She loves all things Star Trek and has a hard time speaking with men. She has been living a fairly stagnant life until she meets the ghost of Daniel. Their friendship develops and he inspires her to get out of her comfort zoned face her fears. Her live seems to get back soon track when Daniel disappears. Later she gets the opportunity to meet him in person, even though he has no idea who she is. Jillian works to gain his trust and repay the favor of shaking up life a bit.
Thank you, NetGalley, for the copy of the book. All opinions are my own. #ghosted #sarahready #NetGalley
