Wow! What a rollercoaster of emotions!

As soon as this started, I knew that I was going to love this book!
I'm not sure whether it was the characters, the storyline, the humour or those pesky nostalgic feelings I got every time there was a Star Trek reference! But this book had everything!

As the title suggests, when we meet Gillian, she's just moved into a new (strange) apartment in New York and discovers that it's haunted by a ghost.
As she comes to terms with this and they get talking, they realise that they're there to help each other and their friendship starts to develop.

I loved that Gillian was different. Not your confident, sassy leading female character, but a little quirky, geeky and shy - so shy in fact that she can't even talk to men.
When this storyline develops and we discover why, I felt so sorry for her.
I equally loved all the side characters - all of Gillian's work colleagues - what an odd bunch - but they all played their parts perfectly and helped the different storylines flow together.
Daniel was such a great character to explore too. I can't even really say much about him as I'm definitely not giving any spoilers away!!

This also applies to the storyline - I can't really say any more than I have done - but I assure you that it's amazing! There are twists all the way through, even to the last chapter and they're literally genius! I was totally not expecting anything that was happening! Just brilliant!

The writing style was really easy to read and written from Gillian's pov throughout, we really got to connect with her. It was like having a conversation with a friend - which also meant that you felt every emotion along with her.
The descriptive writing was amazing, not only were you transported to their world, you got to experience the sights, sounds, smells and tastes along with them too!

I have to mention the Star Trek references! When we were younger, it was mine and my husband's thing, to get a takeaway on a Sunday evening and enjoy it in front of the TV watching Star Trek. We'd seen them all!
Nowadays, I totally deny it and roll my eyes when my boys want to watch the new episodes!
When I got to the first reference in this book, I rolled my eyes - but by the end, every single reference made me smile a little and remember those happy times 😁 (🤫 don't tell my boys!)

A great read which I honestly couldn't put down - I read far too late into the night towards the end as I just had to know what was going to happen. A solutely loved this and will definitely be keen to read more by this author!

**I also listened to this as an audio book and think that the narrator was just perfect.

I really got the feeling that Gillian was there chatting away to me and they easily conveyed all the emotion and excitement of the storyline.

A real joy to listen along to**

💕Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for my ARC copy - this is my honest review 💕

This was such a cute book, with a fun “attractive ghost in my apartment” trope. I’m not sure what has so many authors using this trope, but in Sarah Readys case. I’m here for it! Highly recommended.

Thank you to NetGalley, Sarah Ready, and WW Crown for this ARC!

I love Sarah Ready books. I didn’t read the description of Ghosted because I knew if it was a Sarah Ready book I would love it. Unfortunately I only listened to a few hours of the book and I couldn’t go on. I should have realized this book is a love story with a ghost, but I was a dummy. I just can’t buy in to ghost love stories. They’re just not believable and I can’t relate. I have no idea how this book ends, so maybe it gets better! I will never know! However, I still love Sarah Ready and I’m looking forward to her next book.

Jillian’s life is falling apart. She is a relationship columnist who finds herself having a hard time speaking to men. Her new apartment is tiny and possibly haunted.

Ghosted is a stand-alone paranormal romance. While this is a romance there is a lot of focus on Jillian and her journey. Her grief over events of her past play a large role in the plot. I appreciate that the author shows the FMCs healing process and that it isn't just smoothed over now that she has found love.

I have read almost all of Sarah Ready’s books and I still wasn’t prepared for this one. This is something so different from her usual work but I absolutely loved it. I found the storyline to be quite unique. Every time I thought I knew where the plot was going another twist popped up.

I started reading this one as an ebook and ended up switching to the audio. I really enjoyed the narrators. Sarah Naughton and Rob Brinkman both did an excellent job with their respective characters.

With so many exceptional releases this year, I can’t wait to see what Sarah Ready has next for her readers.

I voluntarily read, listened to, and reviewed advanced copies of this book and audiobook. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you to NetGalley and W.W. Crown (IBPA)!

Ghosted by Sarah Ready is a paranormal romance about Daniel, a ghost, and Jillian, the only person who can see him.
Jillian, a writer for a relationship column has trouble talking to men until a shirtless ghost named Daniel shows up in her apartment. Daniel is also struggling as he cannot recall the circumstances of how he died or how he became a ghost.
The two fall in love until one day he disappears and she doesn’t expect to find him again, even fall in love again.

This was interesting. Definitely different from the other books I've read from the author. The romance I've come to expect was there and I thought the supporting characters were great. They were quirky and fun, which fit the whole aesthetic of the story.

Huge thanks to NetGalley and Swift and Lewis Publishing for the chance to read and review this book. I loved the audiobook version! The characters were great and I loved the story line. However, I thought the book was just a little too long (it took me over 7 hrs at 2x speed).

Thank you Sarah Ready, W. W. Crown, and NetGalley for this advanced listening copy in exchange for my honest review!

This was such a cute read that drew me in from the start! The narrators did a fantastic job. The audiobook was easy to follow along with and it was easy to imagine scenes in the book. I'll be honest, I didn't fully understand Jillian's character in the beginning of the book. When we first learn about her struggles to communicate with men and how she still goes on dates with them, I was really confused. It made her character a little unlikable at first. Then we learn the root of why she's unable to communicate with men and she became more likable. I had a pretty good idea of where the plot was going, but was surprised by the twist. "Ghosted" explores themes of grief, forgiveness, love, and friendship. If you're looking for a romcom that has a fun plot with interesting twists, I recommend trying this one!

There is a lot of fun in this book, but be forewarned you have to suspend disbelief the entire time. This is what I could categorize as "fantasy-lite" romance, and it was a lot of fun. There are some odd, fantastical aspects to the book but I found the storyline to be heartfelt and engaging. I enjoyed the whole host of characters, even though at times I didn't really understand their motivations. I think I enjoyed that its broken up into a few sections, as ultimately helped tie the whole book together. I will say, in the section where Jillian is the pursuer, it seemed like such a stark turnaround from her previous self, as well as some stalking behavior, it was a bit off-putting. However, this was a great listen overall and I really enjoyed it. The narrator was great, although I ended up listening at a faster speed as the pace was a little slow for me. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to provide my honest review!

Thank you Netgalley and publishers for giving me the opportunity to listen to this book. I love a good love story and I love a good ghost story and combining them seemed like a cool idea but this book didn’t really do it for me.

Maybe I’m just a bit too cynical about happily ever after at this stage in life or I just didn’t care for how this one played out. Overall I enjoyed many parts of the story, often laughing out loud or rolling my eyes but I wouldn’t go out of my way to read this again.

I loved this book! From start to finish, it had me hooked. The characters and story were well-developed and I loved that fact that I couldn't guess what would happen next. The writing was beautiful and imaginative, the characters and settings so real. It's sci-fi meets paranormal meets women's fiction and it's the perfect book for a rainy day.
This is my second book by Sarah Ready and one thing I have noticed is that she gives you two love stories for the price of one - double the HEA.! I love that the secondary lover story doesn't overwhelm the main love story, but actually complements in a way and the way Ready writes her characters, I am hooked for both HEA's.
There was a plot point in this book which I really enjoyed - - I don't want to say because I don't know if it'll be a spoiler -- but for me it was different than how I have seen it done in other books. The heroine wasn't shamed for it and it wasn't made to be a big deal. It was an important plot point, but at the same time so much was happening, it was never the main focus.
Jillian and Daniel's love story is so beautiful, it had me on the edge of my seat, waiting for the HEA. It's a story of love and loss and never losing hope. The book is absolutely swoon-worthy and all I can say is, I wish I was haunted by a gorgeous half-naked man.
The narrators did a fantastic job in bringing the story to life.

I really enjoyed Jillian's character. I found it interesting that she can't talk to men and as the story unfolds and she meets Daniel their story is intriguing and kept me wondering what was really happening in this book. I listened to the audio version of the book and the narrators were very expressive and were able to portray the emotions of the characters. The bonus epilogue was amazing as well. This was a very good read and I enjoyed listening to this story. I enjoy Sarah Ready's books and this was one was no exception.

Well, I loved this, it's definitely in my 2023 top 10.
First of all, as I don't read synopsis, I didn't understand this was a paranormal romance upon starting this, and let's say I was a little confused when ghost Daniel appeared. I thought that "Ghosted" in the title meant the act of not responding to someone and completely disappear from the face of the earth, and not the act of existing as a ghost, oops.

Anyways, this book is phenomenal, I really like how reading Sarah Ready's books feels like going on the rollercoaster, first you are super hyped and things go really well, then everything seems to start going badly, there's twist and turns and the plot takes unexpected turns, and then, in the end, everything works out perfectly fine.

Ghosted is about Gillian and Daniel, our heroin is extremely shy and doesn't talk to men, at all, with little to no exception. Upon moving into her new apartment, she finds Daniel, a ghost, in her living room. They soon find out they can help each other out, she can help him try to find his unresolved business, and he can help her sort out her shitty dating life. As per every other romcom, they fall in love in the process, but they still have to figure out how to be together if Daniel is a ghost.

The characters are all extremely lovable and relatable, even the side ones. The plot is well thought-out, and it's well-written.

Jillian Nejat is the only dating and relationship expert on the planet who is incapable of speaking to men. If they’re living, if they’re breathing, it’s game over. With her bank account at zero, her career a dumpster fire, and her dating life in a ten-year slump, she moves into a tiny, dirt-cheap NYC apartment.
Unfortunately, the apartment is already occupied. Daniel (no-last-name) is a sexy, shirtless, six-pack wielding heartthrob who is also…dead. He isn’t living. He isn’t breathing. He’s a ghost. He’s also the only man on the planet who Jillian can talk to. Soon, Daniel’s convinced that it’s his afterlife mission to resurrect Jillian’s love life. He knows, if he helps her fall in love then he can move on. Jillian agrees. The last thing she needs is a Lothario ghost haunting her living room. But then, one practice date leads to another, one confession leads to more, and suddenly Jillian fears she’s falling for the one man she can never have.

If i'd known my apartment was a sex maniac's love den, I would never have invited my parents along. In my defence , it's not as if the real estate listing explicitly said, "Warning: studio apartment moonlights as center for titilating orgies and acrobatic loving." No. It said, "Affordable, quiet studio apartment in Murray Hill, wood floors, street view, unique decor."
"Jillian?" My mom finally stops and gives me a confused look.
"Hmm?" I bite my tongue and uncomfortably tug at the neck of my sweatshirt.
"Why are there so many mirrors?" my mom asks.
Fran snorts, then says delightedly, "Can't you tell, Geeta? It's for eff-you-see-kay-ing."
"Fucucking?" my mom asks, frowning. "Jilly, are you into fucucking?" She glares at the mirrors, "What is that? A cult?"
"The u comes before the c, " Fran sings, but my mom ignores her, frowning worriedly at me.
I shake my head, "No. No, Mom. Not at all. No cults."

After reading French Holiday and then The Space Between, Sarah Ready is now an auto-read for me when it comes to romance - which isn't my main genre of interest! I am so glad that i stumbled across her though! When i feel like a change when the murder and mayhem gets a bit too much (in my books - of course...) , i know i can settle in with one of her books and know that i am in for a great read. I love her writing style and the unique way that she put a story together. Her writing is always fresh and funny.
I'm not really into paranormal romance, or Star Trek for that matter, but the author still managed to pull it off for me. She does a great job creating characters and a back and forth suspense with what's going to happen within the story, which keeps you constantly wanting more. The narration was excellent also, which i was really glad of, as audiobooks are much easier for me to read while i'm at work or on the go, and a bad narrator can ruin a great book.

My thanks to the author, W. W. Crown, Independent Book Publishers Association (IBBA), Members' Audiobooks and narrators Sarah Naughton and Rob Brinkman for my copy to listen to and review via Netgalley.
Due out 26th September 2023!!

I recently discovered Sarah Ready and really love the first book I read. So when I saw she was coming out with another one, I didn't even read the description, as I knew I would like her writing.

However, after a chapter, I was unsure of how I would feel going into this - I have never read a paranormal love story. I had a hate/love relationship with this book. The beginning half of the book took me by surprise, as I did enjoy it. The second half of the book felt drawn out. I expected a little more of the ending.

Overall, I liked parts of the story, but have made the decision that paranormal love stories are not for me.

Thank you to NetGalley for providing me a copy of this title for an honest review.

Ghosted! The adult version of Gasper. I had a lot of fun listening to this book. Between the Psychic the ghost and Fran who always has a blind date around the corner! And Julian's determination towards Daniel and let's not forget the gastronomy and Julian's coworkers. This story does not stop giving me surprises every time you turn the page. Do you believe in ghost? I enjoy listening this book

Oh my gosh! I loved this book! It kind of reminded me of The Dead Romantics by Ashley Poston. This was such a well written, laugh out loud funny, ghost romance! Such a perfect feel-good summer to fall ghostly book.
