ghost romance novels are a little predictable for me but sarah ready has a way of writing her characters that i'm just happy to be along for the ride!!
this plot had such an interesting twist with jillian's character not being able to talk to ~living~ men and with a even more fun but easy way out twist with who daniel really is. sarah ready really does know how to write books with plots that surprise me a little.
the narrator was great and helped me enjoy the book more!!
thank you to the publisher for this audiobook arc!

This was a cute little read. The ending was a twist I didn't expect. I don't typically go for romances, but it reminded me a bit of that movie, Just Like Home and I thought it'd be fun! I was right :)

I really loved this story! It had me guessing the entire time why she could see the ghost and no one else could. Then when she found him in real life had me questioning everything! Would love to read more from this author because it was such a unique story.

Sarah Ready has quickly made her way to the top of my auto-read list. Ghosted was emotional, funny, and such a great read. The narrator also did a fabulous job!

Sarah Ready is easily becoming my go to author. Her love stories at first might make you predict what going happen next, like in any romance book, but she adds a twist that knocks you off and keeps you engaged into the story. Ghosted doesn’t don’t fall flat. I loved it.

Jillian writes a dating and relationship advice column but has trouble talking to men in person. When she moves into a new apartment she finds a hot man there, Daniel. She has no problem talking to him, but unfortunately he’s a ghost. They come up with a plan to help Jillian talk to men so hopefully Daniel can move on to the next life. When they practice dating and get to know each other, they start to develop a connection. Then one day Daniel is gone. Did he move on to the next life? Will he ever come back? Was he even real?
This book made me feel all of the emotions. I laughed, giggled, and shed a tear. The characters are so enduring and perfect for each other. But how do you have a HEA with a ghost? I recommend this book for fans of opposites attract, shifting timelines, fated lovers, and funny banter. If you liked The Dead Romantics you may like this better.
Thank you NetGalley and W.W. Crown, Independent Book Publishers Association for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Sarah Ready's "Ghosted" marks my third adventure into her written world, and once again, she delivered beyond my expectations. This book held me captivated, constantly guessing the turns in the plot and anticipating the fate of the main characters.
Jillian, a journalist specializing in relationship advice columns, faced a puzzling dilemma: she struggled to engage in meaningful conversations with men. Her love life was in disarray, her career less than stellar, and to top it off, she found herself in a newly rented apartment, formerly a mirrored sex den, haunted by a shirtless ghost.
Daniel felt an inexplicable connection with Jillian, convinced they'd crossed paths before. However, Jillian vehemently denied any previous encounter, urging him to leave her be. When Daniel learned of Jillian's issue with the opposite sex, he made it his mission to assist her in both her love life and writing compelling relationship articles for the newspaper.
The story's premise, brimming with uniqueness and intrigue, kept me flipping pages, eager to discover how a ghost and a living woman might find common ground, especially since I'm a sucker for happy endings. The nod to parallel universes was a game-changer for me, especially in the captivating dialogue between Jillian and Serena. Sarah Ready's take on this phenomenon was not only intriguing but felt entirely plausible. I revel in romance novels that intertwine scientific concepts, adding depth to the narrative, and Ready effortlessly succeeded in doing just that.
However, two elements nudged this book to a four-star rating instead of five. At times, I found the pacing lagging, particularly in certain chapters where the prior ones brimmed with action and life, causing a slight dip in momentum. Moreover, a few characters felt underdeveloped, leaving their resolutions feeling hurried. As a reader invested in their journey, I wished for more than just a few pages to learn about their fate.
Nevertheless, "Ghosted" remains a commendable recommendation, especially for enthusiasts of witty rom-coms and paranormal romances. Despite some minor areas that felt lacking, it remains a delightful read that will leave you yearning for more. Ready's skillful storytelling and inventive blend of genres make this a worthwhile addition to your reading list.

I enjoyed this book it was an interesting read. I got a bit confused here and there but managed to get there in the end. The ending felt a tad rushed in a way but was still okay. I don’t think I’d recommend as it’s not a book I would pick up again but I still enjoyed it while I was reading it.

Ghosted initially confused me but eventually revealed itself as a beautiful and unique romance story. I would say read this book with an open mind. It's a one-of-a-kind read.
The audiobook narration was great as well. I enjoyed listening.

I’m rating this as 4/5, but I teeter on 3.5/5 as well. It’s a very cute, rom-com in book form which is admittedly very much not my kind of book or movie, but everyone needs a good rom-com every once in a while. I enjoyed this more than I thought I would, it was a very easy read and the romance pacing was very well done. The characters were fun to read and turned a lot of stereotypes on their heads - I adored Hayley so much and how she breaks the blonde bombshell stereotype - and I love that Jillian is a POC, you don’t often get romance novels with a POC female lead and it was quite refreshing to read. The relationship between Jillian and Daniel was so cute and so wholesome too and felt real and not just something that was forced for the sake of storytelling (and as a Star Wars nerd it was great to see a Trekkie find a knock out looker who cared for her for who she was, Trekkie and all).
My only real complaint was when Jillian decided to come up with a plan to make Daniel fall in love with her, not a spoiler per se, but I won’t go into much detail. Jillian’s plan just didn’t sit right with me at all and actually turned me off from reading this for a bit. It ends quite nicely, after the typical everything falls apart before it gets good again that all romance novels and movies go through, and really wraps things up well with Jillian and Daniel getting their cute happy ever after ending. I don’t know if I’d read the second one when it comes out strictly because while I enjoyed this, again it’s just not really my kind of book, but for anyone who’s looking for a slightly spicy, rom-com-styled read, this is definitely a good read.

thank you to netgalley for the advanced reading copy. I really enjoyed this and will be getting copies for my shop.

Falling in love with a ghost? Cute but executed poorly. Maybe a second read through would change my mind but I don’t see that happening. I really wanted to love this book.

This was a great book, I loved the alternating timelines. I felt so badly for Jillian when Daniel didn't remember, I even cried a couple of times. This was a fun, paranormal romance. Looking forward to reading more of Sarah Ready's work in the future.
Sarah Naughton and Rob Brinkman did a great job narrating this book and it was easy to identify which character was speaking with the two narrators.

This is what it feels like if the movie Ghost had ended differently. Jillian's love for Star Trek was very cute and Daniel's banter made me laugh out loud. I found learning about Jillian's inability to speak to men was odd but definitely helped move the plot along. Daniel's introduction was so funny and set the overall tone for the book. This was a cute story with such a fun premise.

I instantly fell in love with this book! The back and forth between Jillian and Daniel was amazing. When he just showed up in her apartment, as a ghost no less, I would’ve had the same reaction Jillian had, but man I would’ve been interested too. I am so happy with the way this book played out. The timeline of this book worked perfectly in my opinion, even though there was an element of come back in time, I think the pattern of events worked really well for this book. It made me laugh, I felt so many emotions, there is mention of off page self harm and suicide that pulled at my heart strings, so be prepared for that and check triggers! My only critiques are that the book was a little longer than I thought it needed to be in MY personal opinion, and there is a lot about StarTrek in here and I didn’t get any of the references because I haven’t seen any of the films. However neither of those took away my enjoyment of the book. A great, swoony paranormal rom com! Highly recommend!

I struggled with my thoughts on this one as I read. My review was continously being drafted throughout the book and my mind kept changing on how I felt. To start off, the writing was wonderful. Based solely on the writing style, this was a great book to read. As for the content, I was a bit more cynical and not as much of a fan. I can get by sci-fi and time jumping, but falling in love with a ghost was just not my cup of tea. I can appreciate that Jillian need a push in her life to move past trauma but to have her beleiving in the love of a ghost just made her seem mad.
I kept reading this book because I was "dying" to see what was going to happen. But there were many times that I put the book down with frustration because I just didn't get how an independent female would act in such a way, especially when the tone of the book shifted midway through (trying not to give spoilers).
After all of that, the fact that this book is the first of a series, has me intrigued enough to find out what book #2 will bring.

The book is a supernatural romance that dealt with a ghost. This was definitely a unique concept. I liked how likeable the characters are. The story was also well-structured and I liked how it progressed.
As I chose an audiobook, the narrator also made it appear much more interesting. The story had everything to keep me engrossed. The romantic story and conversations between Jillian and Daniel made it a lot interesting.
Overall, a great book!

Thank you to the publishers, author and NetGalley for the free copy of this audio book.
This was a cute little read that had you rooting for the main characters. Kept my attention throughout. The narrator did a good job as well.

I listened to this as an audiobook and thought the narrator did a good job. Set in New York, we follow Jillian as she moves into a new apartment only to find she has a ghostly visitor. The plot was original and I enjoyed trying to work out what was going on, it did keep me coming back for more and I was invested enough in the storyline.
I did find Jillian a little irritating at times and I felt the whole story would have worked better as a more light-hearted comedy, but overall it was an enjoyable listen.
Thanks to Netgalley for the audio version to review!
