This is such a cute story, and really original too! I have never read anything like it. I love the plot, and i love the characters (um i need me a daniel).
The book was quite on the long side, and i must say that halfway through the book i thought we were already nearing the ending. However, there was much more coming, and it was so fun to read the second half after that first one. The second epilogue was also a really good addition!
I also really liked the mention of the gala, whose name i of course remember from the space between, another novel bij sarah ready. I love it when worlds come together like that.
Really fun, definitely recommend! Cant wait for book 2 and read about Serena.
audio is really nice as well, i really liked the narrator
A super unique love story that kept me guessing all of the way through.
I can't say that I have read many (any?) ghost romance stories. And I liked the Daniel and Jillian dynamic, as Daniel worked slowly with Jillian for her to open up and come out of her shell. When he starts accompanying her on dates it was like a reverse Cyrano de Bergerac (Roxanne), helping her get through her clumsy conversation by being her talking partner - so that she can get past the fear of talking to men she doesn't know.
The twist midway through the book I didn't see coming and found it so interesting to follow these two to their happliy ever after.
Ghosted is such a magical love story. It's about fate and destiny and that one true love. I loved every minute of it.
Sarah Ready is my go to favorite romance author. She's creative and crafts swoony heartfelt romances that will make anyone believe in love.
I’ve found my niche. Ghost Rom-Com! Such a brilliant read and I can’t wait for more in the series 😊
Cute, needy, immature MMC but in a sweet way.
Honestly I loved that Daniel wore a shirt in the ghostly realm 😂
Unlikely couple, but I’m here for it.
Very well done!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.
This book was so sweet and I loved the somewhat paranormal aspect of this book. Daniel and Jillian were so adorable! I loved how Daniel in his ghost form was able to help Jillian come out of her shell. I loved how they fell in love while he was a ghost and I love how Jillian was a Star Trek super fan. I love the inclusion of a geeky female main character!
I unfortunately did not enjoy listening/reading this book. It was incredibly long and detrimentally so. I liked the premise but the execution of the book was the downfall for me. Not sure if I will pick up another book by this author.
Thank you NetGalley and publisher for this ARC audiobook for an honest review.
This book was an absolute treat! I have read a few books with the concept of a living person having a relationship with a ghost, but this had a different angle that was a nice twist. I adored both our main characters, Jillian and Daniel, and watching their unconventional relationship grow from friendship to something more. The dual narrative made me extra invested in the story. There were so many funny, sweet, romantic moments that made me smile and swoon. The big reveal of Daniel's story made me desperate to see how everything was going to unfold to get us to a happily ever after. The author did not disappoint! The narrators did a brilliant job of bringing the characters to life...

This was such a wonderful book from Sarah Ready, and a perfect way to enter into autumn reading with this paranormal romance with real world consequences and truly nuanced character development. Amidst the otherworldly paranormal aspect of this plot are two characters who together have fantastic chemistry but honest and nearly insurmountable struggles to both live in the world and be together.
When Jillian, a dating and relationship expert who is too shy to even say her coffee order to a male barista moves into a new apartment, clearly set up for someone a little more… adventurous… than her, she is surprised to meet a half-naked and very good looking ghost who seems to know her but doesn’t know anything about his past and doesn’t even realize he is dead. Together they must figure out if she is meant to help him or if he is meant to help her. What lengths will they each go to to help the other, even if they cannot be together?
This is my second Sarah Ready book and I have noticed a trend that her books start with an introduction is overly clichéd and a bit ridiculous. A quiet and shy "relationship expert" who can’t even talk to the local barista let alone date moves into a new apartment covered in mirrors and was clearly someone’s s*x den? It's a lot. Yet somehow, while I start Sarah Ready books rolling my eyes, I am always swept into the story and start to recognize how layered her plotting and character development are. I am pleased to also report that Ghosted felt even more sophisticated than the last book of hers that I read. The plot itself, while initially may have felt too reminiscent of other paranormal romances, ended up being unique and intricately complicated, yet Ready never wrote herself into a knot she couldn't work herself out of. It was impressive.
The way Jillian and Daniel both develop throughout the course of the novel is one of the most special things about Ready’s writing. As a ghost and a human, they realize that they are tied together because one of them is meant to help the other, as the story progresses, they both help the other grow in important and substantial ways. Yet, Ready doesn’t only focus on her two main characters when it comes to character development. I loved reading the character arcs of Jillian’s office-mates as well. Ready is kind and intentional with all of the characters who get more than a passing introduction in this novel and it makes for a wonderful reading experience.
Sincere thanks to NetGalley and W.W. Crown for providing me with a copy of this audiobook for reviewing purposes.
Oh how I loved Daniel and Jillian! They were the best. I loved seeing all the twists and turns their love story took them on. The audio version and the narrators were perfection.
I discovered Sarah Ready through net galley earlier this year and absolutely love her writing style! This was definitely something different that I've read in a long time. I love anything supernatural/preternatural/paranormal. Tropes for Ghosted include: strangers to friends to lovers, paranormal, fated mates, science fiction.
The narrator also made it very easy to stay intrigued and follow along which is a plus! I'd love to re-read this in the physical form and annotate!
Highly recommend for people who want to read/try something different. If paranormal is not your thing then move along. But if not, HIGHLY recommend.
My Review: Ghosted by Sarah Ready stole my heart.
I absolutely loved it. It was so sweet and utterly unique.
. It was tragic and heartwarming at the same time.
I would like to thank Netgalley and Sarah Ready for sending me this arc in exchange for an honest review. I did recieve both audio and Normal formats of this book. I did switch between them both. I went into this not knowing what to expect. I loved it! The characters the twists the romance, it all kept me gripped the whole time. I am new to Sarah Ready but I will definitely be picking up more of her books.
This was such an unexpected read! The premise of the story sucked me in but I wasn’t sure how our characters were going to get their happily ever after. Well, the twist in this story was wonderful and the HEA did come and was hard fought.
Jillian is the epitome of shyness. She can’t even say hello to the coffee vendor downstairs. But when Daniel, a ghost who doesn’t know he’s a ghost, shows up in her new apartment, Jillian suddenly finds her voice. Together, Daniel helps Jillian come out of her shell and Jillian helps Daniel accept his current status. Throughout their time together, the two end up falling in love, even though they recognize the challenges their very unconventional relationship poses.
Just when I thought there was no way forward in their relationship, Sarah Ready gives us a wonderful twist that moves the story forward and helps Daniel and Jillian find forever love.
This story was reminiscent of the movie The Lake House. It was romantic and fun and fresh. Thoroughly enjoyed this paranormal love story.
The audiobook was really great. The narrator did a fantastic job.
One thing this book did not have was a content warning for the mention of suicide, but I feel like that’s something readers need to know going in.
I ended up enjoying this paranormal romance. The beginning seemed a little long and there was more innuendo than I personally prefer. Once Daniel and Jillian began spending time together, I became invested in their story. Jillian was very shy and struggled to speak to men. Her character had great growth as she learned to let go of the past and become confident in who she was.
I really enjoyed Jillian’s coworkers and felt like that part of the story was impactful. It brought in a nice found family element and balanced the romance.
This is a ghost story, so I was guessing the entire book how it would turn out. I liked the overall resolution. There was plenty of relationship drama and work drama to add some tension to the story. The second epilogue cleared up some of the questions I had. I was surprised by the number of open door scenes. I was not expecting that from a ghost story. Be warned if you prefer not to read that type of content, however they are easy to skip.
The audio was well done. There are two narrators, but the male is only heard during the second epilogue.
This book contains scattered moderate profanity and several open door scenes.
Jillian Nejat is incapable of speaking to men, which puts her job as an advice columnist in serious jeopardy and the numerous blind dates a family friend sets her up on seriously awkward. To say she has had a few rough years would be an understatement, but all that is about to change due to a chance encounter with the ghost occupying her new apartment. When Jillian discovers a strange man in her apartment, she realizes the bat her father gave her for security may come in handy faster than she anticipated. However, just as she is about to take a swing and chase the man from her home, he vanishes into thin air. Poof! Gone just as abruptly as he showed up, yet Jillian’s ghost problem is only just beginning. Daniel quickly becomes a regular presence in Jillian’s life, helping her with her daunting articles and interpreting men’s intentions as her invisible wingman. Jillian’s life is beginning to get back on track so why is Daniel not moving on? And why does the thought of him moving on hurt so bad?
Ghosted was my first novel by Sarah Ready and while I greatly enjoyed her writing and story concept, the characters detracted from my overall enjoyment of the novel, especially Jillian. I found Jillian to be immature and a bit overbearing. I found it difficult to believe that she could not converse with a single man, not even her co-workers or the guy she got her coffee from. She’s a grown woman and I felt she read much younger than she was supposed to be. I also was not keen on the relationship dynamic between Jillian and Daniel. The rich playboy instantly falls for the introverted woman who cannot speak to men? It just did not work for me. While I may not have enjoyed the characters themselves, I did enjoy so many other elements of this novel and am looking forward to reading more from Sarah Ready.

This was my first book by this author and let me just say I really enjoyed it! A beautiful story that kept me hooked from the start.
Sarah Ready wrote an unexpected book about life, love, and how the twists and turns create the life we choose to live. I spent a good part of the book trying to figure it out. Let me say without offering any spoilers this is a gem of a romance, read it and let Sarah Ready take you on a journey of true love and fate.
At this point, I will read anything Sarah Ready writes. I fell in love with this author back in January and she’s now my most read author so far this year. There’s just something about a paranormal / mind-bending romance that just pulls me in - maybe it’s the idea that love is more powerful than space and time? Anyways, I loved this story so much and couldn’t put it down - both MCs were so endearing and Jillian’s character growth was written so well. If you loved The Dead Romantics, The Seven Year Slip or the movie The Lake House, I can’t recommend this enough! I listened to the audiobook for the first half (loved the narrator) and read the e-book for the second and enjoyed both formats.
What a fun audiobook!! I had a lot of fun listening to this story unfold. I would definitely recommend it
It pains me to dnf this book at 40%. I tried for a couple weeks to get through this book but I’m just not jiving with this story. there is nothing wrong with this book, the paranormal aspect is just not for me. I will try again with the next Sarah Ready book because I usually love them!
