after several attempts at trying to read the digital copy of books from this author i requested the audio but it still did not resonate with me. I just do not like the writing style that the author uses. I believe that the books will and mostly likely are well loved but unfortunately i just cannot get through a book by this author.

Ich weiß ehrlich gesagt nicht, wie ich dieses Buch bewerten soll, da ich es aufgrund relativ kurzer Ausleihdauer (ohne Verlängerung) nicht lesen konnte.

I fell in love with Sarah Ready's writing and found that I absolutely enjoy reading her stories while sitting by the pool. So when I saw this pop up in the "Read Now" section of NetGalley, I had to pick it up. To my surprise, it's part of a series! While this is definitely a paranormal romance (and I wasn't fully prepared for it – although I don't know why... it literally says "GHOSTS" in the title and description, lol), I enjoyed this story.

Jillian is a dating and relationship advice column writer but is by no means thriving in her own love life and struggles to even communicate with men. After moving into a new apartment, she finds out she also has a new roommate; one that no one else can see and she has no idea who he is or why he's shirtless in her new apartment. On top of figuring out why she can see him, she is also trying to figure out how he is the only man she's actually able to talk to (and she enjoys talking to him!).

Filled with nerdy banter and the challenges of a paranormal situation, Jillian and Daniel have the chance to get even closer to each other (despite the obvious issue of him being a ghost). Can they figure out what happened to Daniel? Will Jillian be able to find love or at a minimum, be able to communicate with men?

I absolutely enjoy the way Ready writes, and this book didn't disappoint. I find that I can consume her stories quickly and enjoy the read. While I am not a paranormal romance fan and found the steamy scenes a little weird, if that's your jam, you can overlook this hiccup. I enjoyed the nerdiness and the way Ready sets up the second story, including Jillian's friend.

Thanks to NetGalley and Sarah Ready, in collaboration with IBPA, for providing me with a copy so that I could provide an honest review prior to the publish date!

I thought after reading The Dead Romantics that I wouldn't be able to find something to fill that hole but this book certainly did.
I LOVE A PARANORMAL ROM COM and this book really hit the spot!

DNF! Maybe it was because I was really busy with school, but I just could not get into this book. I know others who really enjoyed it but I didn’t really like it!

This was a book I would never normally pick up. It’s a paranormal romance which is not a genre I read. What compelled me to give it a try was the author. Sarah’s books are always great and this one was no exception. Jillian moves into an interesting apartment in NYC and it becomes more interesting when a ghost appears. Daniel believes he has been sent to help Jillian with her love life. For some reason she can’t talk to men. After some tutoring Daniel thinks his job will be done and he can move on. After Jillian realizes she has fallen in love with a ghost she doesn’t know how this relationship can be sustainable and Daniel knows that he is only there temporarily. How is this situation resolved? I really enjoyed this book and loved the characters. The writing is great and I loved the interaction between Daniel and Jillian. Give this one a try for a fun romance read!

If you’re a fan of the movie Just Like Heaven, you’ll love this ghostly love story.

Jillian Nijat can’t talk with men, so it’s the height of irony that she’s a love and relationship columnist for The Daily Exposé. However, minutes after she moves into her new NYC apartment, she’s startled by the appearance of a shirtless, gorgeous man named Daniel who insists that they know each other and that he isn’t dead. After the initial shock wears off, she suddenly realizes that she can speak with him. Although neither knows why he’s literally ghosting her, it’s clear that they can help each other out. He'll coach her on her dates (in a twisted Cyrano way) and with relationship advice that will help her keep her job, and she’ll figure out how to help him move on. What neither expects is that they’ll fall in love.

Like all Sarah Ready books, this romance is far from the norm. The dialogue is often poetic, the heartbreak is real, the narrative is full of twists you don’t see coming, and the message is that love transcends space and time. The main characters are fully fleshed-out (no pun intended), the secondary characters, including unsuccessful but heartfelt matchmaker Fran and Jillian’s co-workers at the paper, are perfect foils, and Daniel is a swoonworthy book boyfriend (except, you know, he’s dead). This one will keep you guessing right to the end, but it’s a journey you’ll want to take. The biggest bonus? Book 2, Switched, featuring Jillian’s best friend Serena, is available now, and Book 3, Fated, featuring Daniel’s half-sister Fiona, will be out in July. Highly recommended.

I received a complimentary ARC of this book from Swift & Lewis through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Opinions expressed are completely my own.

SWWWWWOOOOOOONNNNING!!! I will eat this trope until the day I die, then continue to read it. One is alive, the other from the other side… what could go wrong when feelings are involved

When dating and relationship journalist, Jillian moves into her new apartment, she quickly learns it is already occupied. Unable to speak to men, Jillian makes a friendship with the occupant, gorgeous and dead Daniel. Thinking this is his afterlife mission, he helps her on a journey to spark Jillian's love life. Chemistry between Daniel and Jillian heats up, but Jillian must face that she falls for someone she can never have.

This was a fun read and my first paranormal romance. The story is definitely a must-read rom-com. There was a moment where I was unsure about where the story was going, but Sarah Ready was great at bringing the story full circle and delivering a sweet romance between two people who are unable to have each other.

I was on the edge of my seat for most of this book! The story was unlike I’ve ever read before. I liked it and would recommend it to others. There were a couple of parts that were a bit weird to imagine for me personally but overall it was a great read.

I like this book, although it took me a little bit to get really into it. The characters are likeable and the story held my attention. I definitely rooted for them by the end!

Ghosted was the perfect book to get me out of a slight reading slump. I loved the woven together timelines and the whole premise of the book. The story follows Jillian, who moves into a new apartment where she discovers she is not alone (anyone's nightmare right?). However, her new roommate just so happens to be very much dead- Daniel doesn't remember much about his past excpet for he knows he knew Jullian when he was alive. Convinced that he must help Jillian resurrect her love life that has since tanked after losing a loved one, they strike an unlikely friendship. To help him move on Jillian tries to help Daniel remember as much as he can about his final moments. The banter, the slow burn, and the characters were so good! It was "Spock on" so to speak.

The ending sadly felt a wee rushed and I didn't quite understand why it ended the way it did. Sadly it left me confused and wanting more resolution besides a happily ever after.

Content warnings: some language and open door scenes.

Thank you to NetGalley for an advanced copy of this book!

This is a cute, emotional paranormal story with fun characters and an intriguing plot that will keep you hooked on every page.

This started with a predictable feel: Our heroine, who cannot speak to men, is haunted by a shirtless, sexy ghost. The book started predictably and was cutely engaging. I thought I knew where this story was going but the plot twist surprised me.

The only reason for deducting a star was the pacing. It had its ups and downs and felt inconsistent. But other than that, Ghosted is undoubtedly a fun read.

This book has a fantastic premise and manages to fulfill it in a heartwarming and fun way. I really enjoyed the way the author developed the romance in this story and the theme of second chances throughout the book.
