I truly enjoyed reading this! I also thought that the second epilogue was a nice way to end the story. I loved the twist as well. This is a fun & entertaining paranormal romance and I recommend it if you want something to read for the day.

Jillian is a dating and relationship advice columnist, but outside of work she just can't talk to men. When her career is threatened, Jillian moves in to a new apartment - but didn't realise it came with a guest. Daniel is a sexy, shirtless, six-pack wielding heartthrob who is also very dead. He’s a ghost. He’s also the only man on the planet who Jillian can talk to. Together they make plans to help the both of them to help Daniel move on with his life.

Sarah Ready gave me a unique twist on the "hot ghost lover" I've been seeing lately. Taking a more sci-fi approach (heads up for Trekkies - there's a lot in this one) to explain things and take the story on more than one journey. I genuinely expected on thing and then before I knew it, it was being turned on its head and we headed in a completely different direction. I managed to binge this is one sitting, however it did feel a little on the longer side as there were some chapters that could have been cut down just a tiny bit more. That is the only reason it never made it to the five star range.

Thank you to NetGalley, W. W Crown and Sarah Ready for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review. Ghosted is set for release 26rd September, 2023.

This was a fun read. Anything Sarah Ready writes I would read. I’ve read all of her releases from this year and enjoyed every single one. Ghosted has some paranormal/alternate dimension vibes. Lots of laughs and some steamy ghosts scenes.

I ADORE THIS BOOK, especially the first half! the characters were so nice! Jillian is one of my favorite fmcs ever! She was such a nice character, and I love how she grew in confidence and as a person! Daniel was a lovely ghost, and every ghostly interaction was spectacular!

The second half was not bad but it was hectic and stuff happening at a very fast speed! I feel like more focus could be on Jillian’s work, about how she improved there.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for this lovely ARC.

Wow ❣️ 👌 a lovely story. Beautifully written book. Full of emotions and laughter and romance. I didn't read fantasy or paranormal books but I loved this one. Gripping from the first page till the end. Finished in one day. Jillian and Daniel both have great chemistry and their easy banter feels super sexy. Loved the ending and 2nd epilogue as an alternate timeline. Highly recommended,

Sarah Ready does it again!!! This is my third book I have read and they just keep getting better! This was such a cute Rom-Com. It was so hard for me to stop reading. I fell in LOVE with Jillian and Daniel. This was such a unique and wonderful love story that kept me engaged to the very end. I can't recommend this book enough. DON'T sleep on this one.

Thanks to NetGalley and W.W.Crown for the advance reader copy of Ghosted! This was a very entertaining and, at times, poignant story of a woman, Jillian whose past makes her virtually unable to have any in-depth conversation out loud (especially with men), except for a ghost named Daniel. I know, I know it’s been done before but the author brings more depth and humor to this story than others I have read. I really enjoyed the alternative timelines and Trekkie references a lot! Give this a read if you are looking to be transported from reality for a couple of days, and enjoy it!

Jillian gives dating advice to other people, but she herself can't even speak to men. Until Daniel shows up half naked in her new apartment. She tries to scare him off with bat, but her hit misses... or actually, goes right through him. Daniel starts following her, convinced it is his mission to help her with her love life.
This is a cozy paranormal romance. The first quarter was really interesting, but then it drags a bit. The pacing felt off, there was a bit too much happening, I kept thinking the end was close and then I'd look and I was around 30%, then 50%. The premise was interesting, but it may have needed a bit of editing. The book is almost 500 pages, which is long for a romance. I Loved Jillian's character development, although she came across as needy and immature sometimes. Since it's cozy paranormal, you do have to suspend disbelief, but it's still a fun read. There is great chemistry between the two main characters. I liked how the story was wrapped up in the end.
I received an advance review copy of this book for free and I'm leaving this review voluntarily.

This book was so cute! I loved the l love story. I felt like I would've given it 5 stars if it was not for the ghost aspect but overall a great romance !

Jillian can't bring herself to speak to men, so she's absolutely floored when she's able to speak to the hot ghost haunting her new apartment. She's gone on hundreds of blind dates, but apparently she can only talk to dead guys.

Daniel refuses to believe he's dead. but when he does, he decides the thing that's keeping him from moving on is Jillian - it's his mission to help her come out of her shell and fall in love. But what neither of them expects is to begin falling in love with each other. Is it fate? Is it a big ball of wibbly wobbly, timey wimey stuff?

I was really hoping that this book would be similar to The Mediator series by Meg Cabot - that was my first foray into paranormal romance when I was a kid, so my expectations were high. I was surprised when the publisher description of Ghosted really only covered about half of the book, and I was left wondering where things were going. Ghosted took a hard right from paranormal into sci-fi, and I'm not sure I loved the transition...however, I did ultimately enjoy reading the book, and I was rooting for the characters.

What is a good romance without some obstacles? I really appreciate when an author takes up the challenge to show us how love conquers all - even time, space, and different dimensions.

Jillian Nejat is a relationship and dating expert who writes an advice column at The Daily Exposé, an online news site. She encourages readers to be themselves and strongly believes The One will see you for you, and appreciate you for that.
Her being the expert online, doesn’t make her the expert in real life. Strangely, Jillian struggles to talk to men. She nods, she smiles, but she seems to be unable to speak with more than one syllable to them.

Enter Daniel, the hot ghost that pops up in the apartment Jillian recently moved in. He is sexy, shirtless, and easy to talk to. Daniel’s determined to help Jillian with her talking-to-men and dating issues before he moves on to the afterlife.

Paranormal romances require great creativity to resolve the obvious bump on the road to Happily Ever After. How do you resurrect the dead love interest? I thought Sarah Ready did a great job with that (I can’t and won’t spoil how, of course). I love how the author managed to intertwine plot and subplots, creating a whole universe so to say to support this impossible romance.

There is a lovely crew of co-workers at The Daily Exposé (Ned, Buck, Hayley, and her boss Bernando), the best friend who works at CERN (Serena), and Fran the neighbor Jillian grew up with. All details in this novel served a purpose to the overarching paranormal romance theme and it was amazing to see how everything, every little detail, comment, and character fell into place in the end.

That being said, this book needed that number of details and characters to resolve the premise. Add to that the amount of depth that was put into it to make the romance not only entertaining but also meaningful... I think this book could have used another one hundred pages or so to fully come to its potential. There was so much going on, and all I wanted was to drench myself a bit more in the Jillian-Daniel bubble (without other people around or anything happening). Just some more happy and blissfull moments with the two of them would have been nice.

Nevertheless, an entertaining, inventive, and lovely read that shows that love indeed conquers all.
I really enjoyed this one!

Ghosted by Sarah Ready is a kind of book you would wanna read on a lazy weekend. It is an enjoyable romcom that'll keep you hooked till the end.
Jillian Nejat is a socially awkward Startrek geek on the verge of losing her job and almost nonexistent lovelife, who finds herself in a mirrored sex den apartment in the middle of New York and what's worse is that she's got a half naked sexy ghost clinging onto her.
The protagonist, Jillian, is really relatable. She is an introvert, she's underconfident, she's conscious about her looks, she can't a single conversation with men, she's basically a GenZ trying to live her life. But something changes when the ghost decides it is his fate to change her life.
The chemistry between the two main characters is amazing. I loved their witty and quirky conversations and how Ghost Daniel bawls over the food throughout the story. The first half of the book is rather fast paced, we can see Jillian's daily life, her awkward blind dates (if not disastrous), and how Ghost Daniel becomes a part of her daily life. On the other hand, the second half of the book wasn't that fun. The pace slows down, and we get to know other side characters better. I found the plot way too predictable.
Overall, it is a book you'll enjoy if you are a fan of a slice of life, romantic comedy dramas, and novels.

This was my first Sarah Ready book and it didn’t quite hit the mark for me. The “sexy ghost in my apartment” plot intrigued me, but after reading, I think maybe paranormal romances just aren’t for me.

The characters were all likable enough, but the story really dragged on without much plot development. I kept waiting for there to be some movement towards a way the couple could end up together, but it didn’t come until two thirds of the way in, and even then, there was another 150 pages until a tidy resolution. The last third of the book felt like such a shift in tone and character motivation, that it almost seemed like I was reading an entirely new book towards the end.

My gold standard romance authors are Abby Jimenez and Emily Henry, so if that’s the style you’re used to, this might not be the best fit. I tend to have a really hard time putting down a book once I pick it up, but I had no trouble disconnecting from these characters and walking away at any point in the story. Partially due to the paranormal plot and partially due to the wordy writing style, I just couldn’t immerse myself in the story in a way that made the characters really come alive for me. The resolution was very creative, and it definitely left me guessing how things would work out right up until the end, but I still didn’t walk away feeling satisfied.

This was a fun paranormal romance story. It reminded me of the movie Just Like Heaven, starring Reese Witherspoon. It shared a lot of similarities but the surprising twists made this story stand out. I really loved our main character's geekiness. My only criticism is that I thought this book was far too long. It could have been shortened. Nonetheless I still enjoyed this book. It was a fun read. 3.5⭐

4.5 stars. I devoured this story!
My favorite Sarah Ready book to date!

I’ve read a couple books that felt this way lately (ghost romance) but the way this one played out and resolved was so unique.

The cast of characters were hilarious.
There were perfect moments of levity.
There was yearning and pining.
There was heartfelt chemistry and connection.
The NYC setting was dreamy dnd has me aching to visit.
And the food! I need a bacon burger and some pastries asap 🤣

Great audiobook. The bonus epilogue 🥹🥹🥹

I have loved Sarah Ready's earlier books so I was looking forward to reading this one. Jillian Nejat, the FMC, writes advice for an online magazine. She moves in to a cheap apartment to be close to work and she quickly learns it is haunted, by a 'hot' ghost named Daniel. It was such an entertaining paranormal romance - it was 454 pages so a long one but didn't take me long to read at all. I normally don't read paranormal but since I love this author, I decided to try something new.

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC.

I’ve given five stars to Sarah Ready’s previous two books from this year (French Holiday April 2023 & The Space Between July 2023) and was surprised at another novel so soon. When Ghosted was available freely in ARC and audiobook form on NetGalley I took both alternating between the two.

Jillian Nejat writes advice for love and dating for an online magazine in NYC. She moves into a near work, very cheap, studio apartment even though it has sleazy mirrors on every wall. She quickly learns that she isn’t alone. Daniel is seemingly a ghost and appears shirtless to her in her apartment. He doesn’t remember much other than he knows her. He decides he needs to accomplish something so he can move on. Jillian’s love life is non existent and her career is sinking. So he needs to help her attract men and to spice up her online writing advice.

This is such a fun paranormal romance. Jillian is a Star Trek geek and struggles talking to men. Almost so much so it seems impossible her godmother has already set her up on over 150 dates. Daniel becomes her friend, confidant and the guy she can open up to. She is a little afraid that if he is successful he really will leave.

Ready writes longer than the norm books. Her last was 540 pages and I loved the extra time with the characters. But with this one I struggled with the length. I felt I read, listened and read some more and still was only in the middle of the story. I could have easily trimmed over 100 pages and still had a very good story. The antics of co-workers adds some humor to the book. I felt unrealistic that the moment the L word is mentioned in more than one case a marriage proposal follows. I am recommend this book especially if you enjoy paranormal romances. I just didn’t click with this book as much as her previous stories. I did enjoy the narration by Sarah Naughton and Rob Brinkman. And I will be watching for the next book by the author.

Thank you to NetGalley and W.W. Crown for the ARC and audiobook and I am leaving a voluntary review.
