The Heirloom by Jessie Rosen is a wonderful read that draws the reader into the main character’s search for the previous owners of a ring.

Thanks so much Penguin Group Putnam and NetGalley.
Shea's beloved Nonna had several rules for a successful and happy life. One was to never get an heirloom engagement ring. When Shea's boyfriend proposes with an heirloom ring, she is sent on a long quest to determine its history so that she can feel reassured that her future marriage will last.
I thought this was such an interesting and fun premise! The romance in this book is light and the story is more about Shea and the history of the ring, as well as Shea figuring out some things she might not have been aware of. I really loved this book!

ARC book review! The Heirloom by Jessie Rosen 💍
⭐️ : 4.5/5
I loved this book! Following along on Shea's chase to determine the history of her heirloom engagement ring, while exploring her feelings for her current fiancé, this was the perfect story for me to fall into while reading after work. Shea's beloved Nonna passed on four superstitious rules that dictate how Shea lives, one of them being to never accept and heirloom ring. Naturally, when Shea's boyfriend proposes with an heirloom ring, this sends Shea into a panic that sends her on a journey throughout the world to discover the ring's history and previous owners' stories. From LA to Italy to Portugal to Boston, Shea's journey crossed many stories of romance, relationships, and humanity on her hunt to trace back her ring to the original owner, while also determining if the ring's energy was something she wanted to keep in her life.
For those who love humanity-filled books covering love, joy, pain, and loss, I cannot recommend this book enough! Additionally, if you loved the Seven Sisters series by Lucinda Riley, I am sure you will enjoy this book as well. This was my first time reading Jessie Rosen, and I would definitely read more of her books in the future!

Anyone who knows me knows that I love pretty much anything involving Italy, so I had to read this as soon as I got the chance! Shea’s boyfriend, John, proposes with an heirloom ring triggering a series of events that spans continents trying to uncover the ring’s original owner. Shea wants to put her superstition to rest at last, but every detail she uncovers seems to only make her more unsure…
I loved the first half of this book and I found myself lost in Italy reminiscing of my own time there with my sister. The writing is picturesque and the quest is fun and entertaining. Unfortunately, it comes at John’s expense and by the halfway point I honestly felt bad for the way he was treated. This man had the patience of a saint. Shea made some questionable decisions and had to learn a lot of hard lessons on the way to her ending, but I fell back into like with this book just in time for the end.
This was light on the romance and more just contemporary fiction but was worth the read!
Thank you to NetGalley, Putnam, and Jessie Rosen for the chance to read this early in exchange for an honest review!

This story is about Shea Anderson's journey to secure her very own fairy-tale ending. When John pops the question with a ring that comes with a warning from her dear Nonna, our leading lady, Shea, embarks on a l quest around the globe. Shea crisscrosses countries searching for the ring's previous owners, all in a bid to infuse it with the enchanting essence of "forever energy." We follow Shea's footsteps as she unravels the mysteries of love and legacy, hunts for the past, and explores the depths of her identity. With every page turn, you'll find yourself immersed in Shea's world, living her adventures, and grappling with those deliciously intriguing twists.
And let's not forget the heart of the matter – the romance! We can't help but root for Shea and her fiancé John as their relationship takes center stage. Yes, there might be a few eyebrow-raising decisions along the way, but what real relationship doesn't have those moments?
Shea's adventures, the tantalizing mystery of that heirloom ring, and the vivid descriptions of Italy and Portugal will paint a vivid tapestry in your mind, all while you ponder the intricacies of family, love, and self-discovery. I enjoyed this book and recommend it for just a fast, fun read.

“Um, it’s a pretty long story involving three countries, ten cities, five nightmares, a surprise reunion . . .” It was exciting to follow Shea travel across the world to track down previous potential owners of her engagement ring. (Five nightmare scenes were unnecessary in my opinion. Not a fan of hearing or reading about dreams personally.)
What I loved about the first half was the description of her travel to Italy and the people she met. My favorite quote from the book: “I loved Italy most because it reminded me humans have five distinct senses, and they can all be lit up at the same time.” But after leaving Italy, I felt like the rest of the story felt flat and repetitive. I did also like Shea’s nuanced relationship with her family and twists that were revealed. I’m still processing how I feel about Shea and her fiancé John’s relationship.

The Heirloom was a fun beach read. Jessie Rosen is a witty writer, and the story was a fun, romantic quasi-mystery. The main character, Shea, goes on a very entertaining journey to find out if her heirloom engagement ring belonged to a happy couple. Her global adventures and personal journey to figure out who she is will keep you engaged.

Thanks to NetGalley and Putnam for the opportunity to read The Heirloom by Jessie Rosen. I enjoyed the story, the characters, the travel adventures, and the surprises.

An immersive read about a superstitious woman trying to figure out her life.
Shea is in a great relationship. So why does she feel so ill at ease when her boyfriend proposes to her? Probably because he’s proposed with an heirloom ring and Shea becomes determined to find out whether the previous ring’s owner had a happy marriage. Her quest takes her around the US and Europe, and while she learns more about the ring’s history, she also discovers more about herself.
This was an intriguing story and I was riveted by Shea’s adventures and the ongoing mystery of her engagement ring’s previous owners. Shea makes some questionable decisions along the way and but it was still fun to follow along and enjoy the lovely descriptions of Italy and Portugal.
Recommended to anyone looking for an unusual, surprising, and charming read.
Thank you very much to Putnam Books and NetGalley for the opportunity to read an advance copy.

I really enjoyed this book. Shea's Nonna had some rules about love, including not accepting an heirloom ring so as to not have the bad karma from the ring enter the current relationship. So what is Shea to do when her boyfriend, John, proposes with, yes, an heirloom ring? She heeds Nonna's advice, and decides to trace the history of the ring's previous owners to find out if the ring has positive karma. Shea travels the world with her sister and a journalist (what fun!). I loved the world journey and the unique story, and I always enjoy a character delving into self-discovery.
Thank you to NetGalley and Penguin Group Putnam for giving me this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
