Remaking the World by Andrew Wilson takes a look at the very eventful year of 1776 and how these events have helped shape the post-Christian west. I learned a lot from Wilson and enjoyed this fascinating look at history.
An interesting book that is well-researched and covers a lot of information and shows how so many many things are interrelated, and how it all lies in some events and actions in history, especially in 1776.
It is thought-provoking as you realise how a lot of how people live and think today has its seeds in 1776.
This was a longer read - more like a research paper or an academic book than a story book style of writing.
Also the author's approach was through a more Christian lens when explaining things from history and their impact to this day.

I received Remaking the World from Crossway and Netgalley for review:
This skillfully researched book explains how seven historic events in 1776 shaped today's post-Christian West and equips believers to share God's truth.
The Post-Christian West was shaped by seven pivotal events in the eighteenth century.
Remaking the World is a great book for those who are interested in learning more about how our world came to be the way it is today.
Five out of five stars!
Happy Reading!
Reading Remaking the World was actually quite fun for me. Andrew Wilson did an incredible job compacting so many ideas and threads from the description WEIRDER (Western, Educated, Industrialized, Rich, Democratic, Ex-Christian, Romantic). Wilson works through this theme in consecutive chapters, albeit in a slightly different order. He concludes with two chapters with how Christians may respond and the opportunities for a "postsecular world."
Remaking the World is on the lengthier side sitting close to 300 pages, but given its subject, it is neither too long nor overwhelming for the average reader. Readers who want to better understand in a summarized manner why the Western world acts and look the way it does should pick up this title!
