This is a fascinating book about the Ferry Building in San Francisco and how both have changed over the years. Using this as the basis of the book, he also covers a lot of other topics, including design, architecture, urban planning/use, climate change, and histories of cities. King is an excellent and highly readable writer. I really enjoyed this book.
